Our comment from DrivingSchoolsTOP.co.uk about Celtic Rider Training:
A Legendary Instructor with a First-Time Pass Record
Celtic Rider Training has established a reputation for excellence, primarily driven by the exceptional instruction of Simon. The overwhelming consensus among students is that Simon is a patient, professional, and highly knowledgeable instructor who goes above and beyond to ensure his students succeed. Many users highlight his ability to instill confidence, even in those returning to riding after long breaks or those with zero prior experience. His teaching style is described as calm, methodical, and focused on developing genuine road awareness rather than just passing a test, which leaves riders feeling safe and self-assured.
Comprehensive Motorcycle Courses and High Success Rates
The school offers a full range of motorcycle training programs designed to take students from beginners to fully licensed riders. The curriculum is structured to provide thorough preparation for all necessary examinations, with numerous reviews citing first-time passes for both practical and off-road modules. The training covers:
- CBT (Certificate of Basic Training): Ideal for beginners taking their first steps on a motorcycle.
- Module 1 and Module 2: Comprehensive preparation for the official DVSA tests, with many students passing on their first attempt.
- Direct Access Scheme (DAS): Advanced training for those looking to obtain their full unrestricted motorcycle license quickly.
Students frequently mention that Simon’s detailed feedback and focus on correct riding techniques contribute significantly to these high success rates.
Quality Equipment and Flexible Scheduling
One of the standout features of Celtic Rider Training is the quality of their fleet. The school utilizes well-maintained Suzuki SV650 motorcycles, which are praised for being easy to handle for learners while still being powerful enough to build confidence. The bikes are equipped with modern features, including ABS and heated grips, which enhance the learning experience in various weather conditions. Additionally, students appreciate Simon’s flexibility; he is often commended for arranging lessons at short notice and accommodating busy schedules, ensuring that training fits seamlessly into the student's life.
Trusted by Riders for Professionalism and Care
Beyond the technical skills, Celtic Rider Training is noted for its supportive and friendly environment. Simon is described as approachable and genuinely cares about his students' well-being, often continuing to offer advice and support even after they have passed their tests. This level of dedication has fostered strong relationships, with many former students planning to return for advanced training. The school’s commitment to safety, clear communication, and a relaxed yet focused atmosphere makes it a top choice for motorcycle enthusiasts in the UK.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Simon at Celtic rider training enough, he’s got me through Mod 1 and Mod 2 with first time passes on both. I had no experience other than a cbt when I arrived and now I have my full A licence. I had 2/3 days training in total and got through the lot in just under 3 weeks. I’m 43 now I’m a truck driver so I’ve learnt to drive cars, class 2 on trucks and also class 1 on trucks and Simon is by far the best instructor I’ve ever had. He’s a lovely bloke has a brilliant style of teaching and is calm and professional at all times. He also cares for his students after they have passed and I know would always be there if I needed any advice or to ask anything even after passing, there’s not many of these people around. Top bloke. Top trainer. Thank you
Thanks Andy, I appreciate the review, well earned pass today, keep it sunny side up and enjoy the bike and keep an eye out for my coming workshop
Negative experience: Simon is a very impatient and patronising person. If you want to pay stupid money by the hour to be verbally abused, go straight ahead. And by verbal abuse, I'm referring to being sworn at and called all the names under the sun. Joker of a man. EDIT: No, it's you I'm referring to Simon. And, no, I don't have you confused with anyone else. You may not remember me, but I certainly remember you and the dreadful experience I had of Mod 1 and Mod 2. I won't be removing the review. Regards,
Wow I genuinely have no idea who you are and why you are reviewing me, hopefully it's an honest mistake on your part and you have me confused with another training school, I can think of a few like Tony Griffith from motorcycle training people who was shut down by the DVSA a while back for illegal practice. He is legendary for his poor and dangerous practice. kindly remove you review
Fantastic experience: Simon is truly a legendary figure! Not only did I establish a valuable friendship, but I also gained an immense amount of knowledge from him, enabling me to become a safer and more self-assured rider. Despite my few years of absence from riding, I am reassured that Simon will consistently provide unwavering support for all my motorcycle training needs. Without a doubt, selecting him as my instructor for the CBT and Full Motorcycle license was the perfect choice. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to him for his exceptional guidance. Undeniably, Simon stands among the absolute finest motorcycle training instructors available.
Thank you for such a lovely review Nav , for once I am short on words,
Fantastic experience: Simon is a great instructor, reliable, punctual and has your best interests in mind. I passed everything the first time. Would highly recommend.
Thanks Stefan, was a pleasure helping you gain your full licence, keep it sunny side up and enjoy, all the best Simon
Fantastic experience: I’ve just passed my Mod 2 with Celtic riding school and I highly recommend Simon if you’re looking to learn. The lessons were thorough and well organised. Simon is very knowledgable and could explain all the riding technique I needed to become a confident rider well in time for the test. The Susuki SV650 bike was well maintained and a fun bike to learn on. The heated grips definitely helped on a rainy day. From booking the lessons over the phone to riding back after the test, Simon made the whole process seamless and enjoyable. Thanks Simon!
Thank you Will, great result will look forward to seeing you on the road
