Onsite cafe was awesome great food and was even given a food voucher upon arrival highly recommend them to anyone

Negative experience: very disappointed, they used parts intended for my motorcycle to repair another one, I picked up the bike after repair and service and I had to push it for a few miles because it was not repaired, there is damage to the paint on the tank after the repair, the clutch pulls... I will not use their services again

Fantastic experience: It's a crying shame that saltire stopped being a yamaha dealership as I bought my last 3 bikes brand new here 2 gixxers and my amazing R1. Sadly due to idiots in cars I lost 2 of those bikes and the staff at saltire went above and beyond to help me on the first crash and went out of their way to check in on me after a near fatal second crash. I'm now back in the market for a new R1 and it breaks my heart that I won't be buying my new bike from saltire for the first time since I passed my bike test. I couldn't recommend these guys and girls highly enough.

Negative experience: Terrible service, from the parts workshop. I asked for advice for a part on my bike. After receiving advice I ordered the part (which was a different price quoted from the previous week, with another staff member). When I got the part (which I picked up from store), it was not the part I needed. I was then charged £13 for the 'carrying charge' and postage to return the item the same day. This was a third of the cost of the part!

Fantastic experience: After having done my CBT and full licence training here, I can whole heartedly recommend the team at Saltire - They're good people, who run a very tight ship. I started by doing a CBT taster session over a year ago with Colin. This confirmed to me that I definitely want to be on a bike! Went on to do my CBT day with Grant who was fantastic, and then after a year on 125 (highly recommend this), did my full licence training with Brian and Colin. From beginning to end, this process process was hugely enjoyable/ confidence inducing. Jethro, Adele, Colin, Grant and Brian - thanks again for an amazing service. Will definitely be back in.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT renewal and full licence training here. The instructors are fantastic, really great confidence-inspiring teachers and sound guys to boot, while all the rest of the staff are always kind and go out of their way to help. The kit shop is also worth a shout - range of good gear at good prices, with lots of expertise from Jethro at the desk. Big recommend for Saltire Motorcycles.

Fantastic experience: Can't speak highly enough of Saltire. Went in last month to test a used DL650 with my brother and they could not have been more accommodating, provided my brother with a helmet as he'd forgotten his and gave him a new KTM 1290 to demo (even though he said he wasn't buying) just so we could go ride together. Needless to say after the test ride I bought the bike - my first bike in fact. Was served by Calum the CEO and he couldn't have been more pleasant/helpful. Had a good lunch in the cafe while they prepped the bike too.

Fantastic experience: Steve was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the bikes, the riding conditions as well as routes etc. The bikes ran perfectly and we’re in a very good condition. Highly recommend Saltire Motorcycles for tours in Scotland.

Negative experience: Avoid this place !!! The are too fussy and they only work with bikes non older than 2010… I’ve only asked to change oil filter and air box. What a shame !!!! I will never come back spending money to you. Good luck with the future;-)

Negative experience: In the shop for 20 minutes/ half an hour poor customer service as we were not even approched !!very disappointed as we were looking to purchase 1/ 2 bike's o we'll not to be !! Not sour grapes just saying how it is !! You maybe need some kind of meet n greet @ t front door as you're potential buyers arrive Have a nice day.

Fantastic experience: Did my DAS motorbike training here. Great place. Brian and Colin are excellent instructors and very friendly, and we made the most of the training time we had available. The training bikes were well-maintained KTMs which were very fun to ride. My friend also did her CBT here and reported that the atmosphere was very good for female riders. The staff were great about helping me try various bikes, and about trying to find a helmet that fits my annoyingly large skull! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Sat my CBT recently and the level of professionalism and great service was exceptional, Grant the instructor was patient and great at answering my questions and putting me at ease during his instructions. Made it simple and easy to understand. The other team members I met were friendly and didn’t belittle your lack of experience but genuinely seemed glad to see more people learning. Would 100% recommend Saltire. PS the cafe does a cracking job too, too notch scran.

Fantastic experience: Visiting Scotland from the States last month and being a rider of more than 50 years had to stop at least one shop while there. Glad I picked Saltire. Great staff and inventory. Had lunch at cafe. Got to meet CEO Mr. Calum Murray and compare business differences between UK and US. Showed me some bikes we don't get at home. All in all, enjoyed a great visit.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing dealership! I called for a battery and Rob in "parts" couldn't have been more helpful! Helped me out enormously by supplying and fitting a sprocket stud with no charge. I'm truly humbled. Chance meeting with the Chairman Dave in the Indian department was an education. Positive experience: Indian motorcycle shop great selection of bikes and helpful staff. Struggled to find a member of staff in Saltire Bikes but very helpful when found someone. Cafe closes at 4pm. Unfortunately just missed it. Wee practice road layout inside. Great set up. Good selection of gloves, jackets etc.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place. I bought a helmet and completed my CBT with Saltire and every staff member I’ve spoken to has been amazing and has given great advice. An amazing range of motorcycles, I could walk around for hours. Great place!

Positive experience: Not much use as a garage for getting work done, very expensive and doesn't really listen when you have a problem so they completely misdiagnose the issue. Now having to go to a third party garage to figure out the cause of my problem and have it fixed.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service, very well priced bike clothing and helmets. I was served by Jethro on both my visits who was very patient, knowledgeable and gave first class service to someone who is new to motor biking. A fountain of knowledge and very friendly. Wouldn’t go anywhere else! Even a fellow customer mentioned how good the courses are too and I am glad I have booked my CBT here. The showroom is great too, lots of bikes on display and the prices are also very good here too. A first class independent bike shop.

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough or praise Calum and his amazing team for the customer service. I have just purchased an Indian Roadmaster for the team and I have never been treated in such an amazing way. From the fist call to them to the handover of the bike today it’s been unbelievable. I really had nothing to do. The team took care of every step and when above and beyond. More so Saltire are in Edinburgh, Scotland I live in a wee village call Millisle in Northern Ireland. We did the change over of bikes at the docks in Cairnrayn. The hardest thing I had to do was get up early to catch the morning boat over. Saltire give a 5 STAR service and then some. If anyone regardless where you live want to feel reinsured, comfortable and confident about buying a bike and being treated with respect you can be reinsured Calum and his team at Saltire deliver. One more thing when Frank the staff member that brought my bike to the docks was a gentleman. And while showing me round the bike he informs me that Calum had sent me some free Indian murch. Negative experience: Very bad company especially towards disabled ppl I have a friend who is disabled and needs his bike for getting about he bought a fantic caballero 125cc in 2019 within 6 months it was cutting out they seemingly fixed it Aug last year it was due a mot at saltire but because saltire don't deal with fantic anymore they won't look at it £5000 on a piece of scrap if I was you I would not go near to by a bike or get it repaired

Negative experience: Rip off. They want £190 for a CBT. Span me some nonsense about insurance and hiring of equipment. Noone else charges near that, so that's definitely a lie.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking to do your Module 1 and 2 bike tests then this is the place. These guys really know their onions, Jethro and Adele communicated well throughout my journey. And the 3 instructors who helped me, Colin, John and Brian were spot on, they have a wealth of knowledge and years of experience and it really shows.

Fantastic experience: Excellent motorcycle training, highly recommend. I hadn't been on a bike for 14 years and Colin gave the confidence to ride the 125 then a Suzuki 650 by the end of the afternoon, it was exactly what I needed.

Fantastic experience: Ok, im to give an honest review. Well, in over 40 years, i have never enjoyed a steak mince pie as much. The cafe inside the centre was like visiting a local, friendly wee pub. Coffee was brilliant, as was the whole visit. As Arnie would say... I'll be back. ✔ ☺

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend saltire enough. I took my CBT, mod 1 and mod 2 with them over a 2 year period (the gaps due to my own hectic schedule). Jethro who runs the place is incredibly accommodating and genuine, and the instructors are really fantastic (I had Colin and Brian).

Fantastic experience: I was in Saltire today looking at helmets. I was dealt with by Joleen who was first class, very knowledgeable, keen to help and was clearly passionate about what she was doing. I tried on a few different helmets and after a bit of decision making settled on a Shoei. It needed a little adjustment done to it to make it fit perfectly but this was done quickly and with no fuss. I’ve now got a helmet I have 110% confidence in, and I had a really good experience buying it.

Fantastic experience: Jethro knows more about Electric vehicles than Elon Musk! After trialling the Livewire Electric motorbike @ Harley Davidson, I enquired here to see their Zero EV bikes - the customer service and knowledge was a level above! Jethro took time to establish my needs, and to match the bike that would be best suited. After 2 demo rides it was easy to differ against the Livewire. Deal done, I'll be a customer for a long time - highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Great service today as always, staff friendly, helpful and courteous, from sales, servicing and after sales, all great. Huge range of new and used stock. Fantastic to see the saltire guys doing so well.

Negative experience: £301 for a service. I have the breakdown yet still am baffled at £141 of labour costs (Before vat) for valve clearance adjustments and an oil change seems outrageous to me. The fact that the gasket was ruined by the mechanic and I was forced to pay for the replacement is another gripe. I definitely will not be using Saltire again. Grateful for the quality of work, but it's not worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Had a taster session on a bike prior to doing my CBT training next week. The taster session got me on a bike for the very first time, and by the end of the session felt confident moving onto the CBT. Great facilities and staff.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic service! They look after you every way possible, thanks to Frank, Callum, Levi and the rest of the team. Silly me had a nightmare this morning and was lucky enough for Frank to pick me up at the side of the road as he was passing and noticed the Indian Scout. Got to Saltaire and bike checked over and splash of fuel to get me on my way. Cheers guys!

Fantastic experience: I bought my Street Twin here a couple of months ago. I wasn't really sure what I was after at the time but Eddie was really helpful and gave me all the time I needed to make the right decision, never pushy, just great advice and patience. All the guys are really knowledgeable and made the time to chat about my options even though they were super busy! I'd been around a few other dealers before I came to Saltire and none of them were as welcoming, helpful and friendly by a long shot. I was allowed to test ride a few bikes until I fell in love with the Triumph and I honestly couldn't be happier with the whole experience from start to finish. I'll always recommend Saltire to anyone looking for a new bike or gear, or even if you're just after a coffee and a chat and to look at bikes :)

Fantastic experience: Perfect team to get you through the DAS. Colin and James were excellent tutors for the whole course and getting through each stage of the licence. Great learning routes and approach to teaching the basics/handling. Despite Covid and stalls to test dates, they along with Jethro, were super helpful in getting the deal done and first time pass through with no issues! Get your theory out the way and then give these guys a call, you'll be on the road in no time.

Fantastic experience: I bought a ktm 790 duke from a shop in England,once I received the bike it had no track mode I phoned saltire motorcycles and even though I never bought my bike from them they booked me in and activated track mode free of charge with no hassle at all so big thanks

After a number of lessons being belittled and made to feel humiliated I decided to give Saltire a try. I am so glad I did. Fantastic experience: Niki gave a professional helmet fitting service, which is what I've come to expect from Saltire. The sales personnel always give good advice with no sales pressure. They go out of their way to ensure you leave with appropriate kit that fits well and suits the customer needs.

Fantastic experience: I recently done my training with saltire. Cbt and DAS. Colin was fantastic in taking me through the DAS training. Very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions that I had. He explained everything really well and made me feel really confident when taking my MOD 1 and 2 tests. Thank you so much Colin. Also cannot fault the staff. Really friendly from the moment you walk in. I got new jacket and gloves whilst there and the advice I got was brilliant. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get just that it needed to be suitable for summer riding and walked away really happy. Will be using saltire many times in future.

Negative experience: Took my Indian Scout in to get a new cap fitted to the master cylinder under warranty, i happened to mention a fault code had flagged up on my information screen but had cleared, "no bother sir we will just pop it on the diagnostic machine for you while its in" i was told, i have had plenty of diagnostics done in the past and expected a bill of £60-£80 so didnt really think to ask for a pre quote, BIG MISTAKE when i returned i nearly fell over when i was hit with a bill of over £230 for "extensive testing" but no fault found. I would have appreciated at least a warning of how expensive this testing would be before commencing. This is the 2nd bike i have bought from Saltire but needless to say i really cant trust coming back for bike sales or any further service work if this is the type of cost i am likely to incur, whats worse is that i only purchased the 69 plate bike from Saltire in August 2021 and the mystery fault was inspected in March 2022 i had even considered the bike might have come with a years warranty. I would say they were very good at answering messages to book the bike in and this is why i didn't leave a 1 star review UPDATE I started google searching overcharging faults on motorcycles and the same thing kept coming up "faulty regulator rectifier" bought a new regulator rectifier for £148 and fixed it myself, wish i had searched google before taking the bike to Satire, i could have saved myself nearly £250

Fantastic experience: First of all I would just like to say how great the set up you have up at Saltire. I have been a couple of times now and this time my pal wanted to view the set up and he was really impressed! I collected my Brand New Huqvarna Norden 901 yesterday which I ordered through Davie in sales. He has been a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole buying process. I also had my Vitpilen 701 getting 2 x safety recalls done and the lads in the workshop are superb lads. Then I kindly asked Davie if the chap (Frank?) who is the collection & delivery driver could help me load my van with my precious two motorbikes (he has helped me before) to make sure they were correctly loaded ready for my trip back to Newcastle which he 100% ensured. He did a great job and Levi also chipped in to help push the bikes in. Again Levi was a top gent! The customer service and attention to detail was simply superb and I will highly be certainly recommending,Saltire motorcycle! *Also the breakfast we had was great, so well done to Uncle Buck! Thank you all again and I can't wait to return.

Fantastic experience: I had never ridden a motobike before going to a taster session at Saltire. From this first ride I have enjoyed every moment (despite learning through the Scottish winter!) The very patient team at Saltire always shaped my lessons around what I wanted to learn. A special shout out for James for never getting bored of telling me to turn my indicator off and going through 5000 roundabouts. I never felt like my question were ridiculous and I always felt encouraged and engaged. What an asset. I finally passed my Module 2 four months after my first taster ride and have enjoyed every moment. Thanks to the whole training team at Saltire - you’re all bloody awesome. Now which bike do I buy?….

Fantastic experience: Big thank you to Saltire for helping me to pass all the tests (in one go, and although I never had any much exposure to bikes) in order to obtain the motorbike license. Massive shout out to James and Colin, who have been extremely educative and informative during the whole teaching process. Last but not least, thanks to Jethro and Adele for organising the training and exam dates. Finally, motorbikes (especially KTMs 890cc) are awesome to ride, very high tech, comfy and easy - the perfect choice for practice and exams.

Negative experience: My 7 year old son has a 2019 Husqvarna TC50 motocross bike, during a race this month the throttle got stuck in the wide open position and he had a horrible crash. Unsure of what had caused this on a very well maintained bike I asked on a forum, where I was informed of a recall by Husqvarna. The recall states "Due to a defect, the throttle may become stuck in the open position. This could potentially cause a crash injury or death to the rider." 780 bikes were affected by this recall. I contacted Saltire Motorcycles as my local Husqvarna dealer and after checking the bikes VIN number they called me back to confirm the bike was one affected by the recall. They offered to book the bike in to check it in 3 weeks time for a check that would take around 10 minutes, I was informed they wouldn't be able to guarantee that it could be looked at first thing so i could take it away but it may be looked at later that day. Also if a part was needed they would then order it, this would would take around a week to arrive and no discussion of when the part could be fitted. I understand that a recall has no financial gain to Saltire however I had thought with the severity of the issue they would look to this with some urgency. I called and asked if I could raise an issue with Calum Murray (Founder of Saltire) and was informed he was organising the shop for its 16th birthday. I never received that call. I have no faith at all by the way my issue was handled that I would be given any, let alone enough, reassurance that this wouldn't happen to my son again. A very poor response to a very serious and dangerous recall by Saltire!

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT and went through to complete my DAS with Saltire and sailed through first time thanks to Colin's top guidance. Jethro got me a beast of a KTM 890 to play on, Nicky sorted me out with a class helmet, gloves etc and Jolene tweaked the padding in the lid to get an incredible customised fit. It's just a shame about Uncle Jock's patter ;)

The place is massive with showrooms full of 2 wheeled pleasure as well as clothing and kit. Had the mac n cheese with chips from the cafe they've got on site which was tidy! Never felt nervous or rushed, course was done at pace and was very thorough. Will be getting some road experience on 2 wheels and will be back for my direct access.

Fantastic experience: Really helpful and understanding staff, as had a CBT booked but have had to postpone it for medical reasons. Excellent layout, love all the different rooms and the displays are amazing. Made to feel really welcome which is really nice.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT here. James, Jethro and John were so patient and helpful when health issues (and then nerves) interrupted training, but I did it when I went back. Super bunch and I can't wait to move on to the next training!

Negative experience: Visited to look for new bike, had few in mind and was intending to return next day. But when got back to my bike I found I had a screw in back tyre, went back in to see if they could plug it for me. I received a very negative no we're to busy and when I proceeded to ask for a kit I didn't even get the whole sentence out and was told NO we don't have any. Very poor customer service, needless to say I purchased kit and new bike elsewhere...

Fantastic experience: Passed my CBT and full bike test with these guys. Highly recommend as their quality of training is is high. You go to your bike test confident you can ride well. James is a superhuman instructor for putting up with my madness and I'm so grateful he helped me pass my test, first time! Jethro also made sure that all the admin side of things ran smoothly.

Fantastic experience: Staff are amazingly helpful. Didn't realise how big the place is. Rider taster session for my son was excellent, just need to check a few things before we book in for the CBT. Well impressed.

Fantastic experience: Visited today to have a look at the motogirl range. although they didn't have the jacket I was looking for the girl (so sorry I didn't get your name) showed me an alternative which fits like a dream and looks amazing on! ended up buying a pair of jeans, gloves and a bag also thanks for being super friendly and taking the time to go through everything with me. Fantastic experience: Great place to visit for motorcycles with many various makes. Huge inside space and downstairs that will keep those keen bikers, occupied longer than you thought. Come down for a coffee in Uncle Bucks too.

Fantastic experience: Purchased bike in Jan 2020 from Saltire and sales (John) and service was first class and fuss free. Unfortunately had to sell same today and Saltire bought it back (Mark). Again, fuss free and settlement all made on the spot. Great bacon roll too in the cafe. Courtesy all round and would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Wouldn’t recommend this place, my husband is still waiting on call from last year about his Mod 1 resit, The problem they can’t fit training around you it has to be in there terms. There way or the highway so whats happens now is has partly lost money out of the company. Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say a massive thanks to the team at Saltire Motorcycles for what they've done for me this week. I bought a three year old GSX-S1000 from them back last year which very quickly developed a fault. They instantly recalled it back to their workshop and under the terms of their used bike warranty fixed the problem. Unfortunately, a few months later the problem returned (a battery/charging issue) and again, Frank was out immediately and the bike was recovered back into the workshop. This time the diagnosis wasn't good and I was offered a full refund of all monies paid. They didn't want me being bikeless which I am very much grateful for. The CEO of the company Calum Murray has also gone above and beyond normal bike dealership customer service I reckon, and sourced me a brand new bike from one of his contacts, which I pick up soon. Big thanks to Rosco and Tommy too for the help they gave me. Absolutely the best company to deal with, wouldn't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Bought my first bike after passing my CBT last October. Davie in sales was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the purchase, and the bike was also delivered quicker than expected. Can't remeber the delivery driver's name but he was also extremely helpful, giving plenty of maintenance tips and how I should look to progress to an A2 licence. Overall a great experience and would definitely use saltire again.
