Fantastic experience: I came to Richard a nervous wreck. I had put off driving for 25 years and had previous instructors who said I shouldn't be driving. But Richard came as a breath of fresh air, he wouldn't even entertain the idea that I couldn't drive. He was a brilliant instructor and we took things at my pace with regular lessons. Unlike most instructors he takes you on a proper drive each lesson and you gain confidence this way. His preparation for the test was amazing and I passed first time! I really owe it all to Richard, a proper 5 star instructor. Highly recommended. COYS.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test with Richard in 2024. Richard is an outstanding driving instructor as well as a great human being. In addition to having extensive experience as a driving instructor, he is also very knowledgeable and passionate about electric vehicles (EVs). However, what really sets Richard apart from other instructors are his human qualities. He is extremely patient and supportive, and really makes an effort to understand the circumstances of his customers and put them at ease. In my case, I learned to drive fairly late in life and out of necessity after becoming a father. Throughout my instruction, Richard always made an effort to understand my circumstances (career, family and other responsibilities) and tailored his teaching style accordingly. I highly recommend Rich as a driving instructor. Due to varying circumstances I used two other instructors before him, and he was by far the best.

Fantastic experience: I passed with Richard probably about 9 months ago now. Yes it’s quite a late review though he was truly an excellent instructor who was incredibly easy to build a rapport with quickly. I believe he’s now a Grade A instructor so my congratulations to him for achieving that.

Positive experience: As my brother has said if you want a fun, informative driving instructor and lessons then Richard is the man for you his price is competitive and he states the prices clearly to you and does not change them. Like Ashely I have given he 4 stars because he is late sometimes but this is mainly down to traffic or roadworks, which are all to common around Winchester!! He listens to you and asks you what you want to work on in each driving lessons and gives you positive feedback and helpful comments to hep you pass your test. When I pass my test, Richard will have helped me pass a test and learn skill that I can use for the rest of my life, a give me freedom to be able to go out by myself and take my my to Marwell and other places on holiday.

Fantastic experience: WOW what a brilliant teacher! Rich has that ability to not only put you at ease and make you a better and safer driver, but he actually makes lessons fun and makes you laugh so that any nerves you felt before your lessons goes away and you look forward to them. I am dyslexic and so i am forever muddling my lefts and rights and i struggle with processing information due to my short term memory problems associated with dyslexia. Rich is very kind and patient with me, is not judgemental, doesn't make me feel stupid and he actually understands my problems and finds ways to get around them. He repeats instructed directions for me when i forget what he had just instructed me to do and speaks slowly and points in the directions for me using the phrases "my side" and "your side" so that i don't panick behind the wheel. You leave the lesson feeling like you have considerabley progressed from the previous lesson and you feel more safe and self assured with every second you are next to Rich. He always praises you when you did a manouvre or something correctly and gives you helpful advice instead of just critisisem when you could do something better or avoid the same mistake again. What more could you want?! Once i have passed my test, i am going to make sure i stick with what Rich has taught me so that i can carry on being a calm safe and self assured driver thank you Rich!

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Richard highly enough. I had absolutely no driving experience and was incredibly nervous. I had an awkward schedule to fit into but we still managed a couple of lessons a week. I was really pleased that I found the right driving instructor first time round and didn't have to change, as many learners do. Really nice chap who has infinite patience and is able to calm nerves almost instantly. Thanks again Richard, see you around!

Fantastic experience: 2 years ago i had a really bad instructor who told me i was going to fail my practical, this left me with no confidence. Richard has completely changed that, i have so much more confidence and i love doing my lessons. I cant wait to do my test and start driving properly. I would definately recomenned!!

Positive experience: As the other have said already, if your looking for a friendly, helpful driving instructor in and around Winchester then he your man to go to. His prices are competitive but at same time good. He help me through out to achieve the goal of passing my driving test. He took me though different road conditions and situations though out this time and help me to become confidant driver. I gave him 4 stars because he can some time be a little late, however, he lets you know if he is running late and why. I would recommend Richard to any one who looking for a brilliant driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Two weeks away from my test I can happily say my time driving with Richard has been fun as well as helpful. Richard is very kind and friendly, which is really helpful for a nervous teenager on their first lesson. Richard's way of teaching is very helpful, he makes sure you're happy with the last thing you've learned before progressing and always asks me what I want to do with my lesson time and he's only prepared to let a student take their test when he knows they're ready. I've had a really good time learning with Richard and he's taught me a skill I will be able to use for the rest of my life, so I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a driving instructor around Winchester.

Fantastic experience: I've had quite a few driving lessons with Richard now and I cant really complain at all. He's giving me confidence in driving and has taught me so much in the time ive had with him. He teaches at my pace and considers my choice of what we want to do each lesson to keep on improving. I really enjoy each lesson I have and would highly recommend him to anyone.
