Fantastic experience: I had Ian as my driving instructor and he was friendly and understanding when teaching me how to drive, with lots of handouts helping me with all of the fundamental driving skills. This helped me gain a significant amount of confidence when driving as I was very nervous when I first started learning to drive! He was also very flexible when booking lessons which was very helpful. Would highly recommend and thanks Ian for all the help with teaching me!

Fantastic experience: I learnt with Alan after having a previous instructor which was not working for me. I never thought I would be able to drive or pass my test but after having lessons with Alan, I passed first time! I genuinely couldn't recommend him more! I learnt later in life which felt harder but Alan was incredibly patient, kind and really enjoyed my lessons (something I never thought I would say!!). Definitely can not fault any of my experience with Amigos and would 110% recommend if you want to learn!

Fantastic experience: Harry had a great experience learning to drive with Ian. He’s a really down to earth guy who made Harry feel at ease. He was patient, friendly and flexible with Harry’s schedule. Harry really enjoyed his teaching style which gave him confidence and led to him passing with just one minor. Fantastic experience: I have been learning to drive since 2018 and through a variety of circumstances have had four driving instructors in 3 cities. Amigos lives up to it's name, being a good and friendly company. My instructor, Alan, is by far the best instructor I've had (one of the other three I would rate highly, the other ones weren't the right fit for me). Alan is excellent at being patient whilst also paying attention to my idiosyncratic difficulties in learning to drive, and identified how to solve them and help me feel confident behind the wheel. So much so that I passed my test in a city in which I had never driven before (once again, circumstances). From the start I had been saying "I want to learn to drive safely even more than I want to pass the test", and now I feel confident I can do both.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience and thankful for Alan my driving instructor who took the time to teach me how to drive. Very friendly and attentive instructor. 10/10 experience I couldn’t have chose a better instructor.

Fantastic experience: As his first hearing impaired student Alan is genuinely the best driving instructor ever as he always teach and support to make solutions to whatever I made any mistakes including my hearing mistakes and provides tips, also tracks my progression of my strength and weakness in driving skills, even with my hard of hearing disability, he’s very easy to understand and communicate well so I highly recommend try Alan if you are hearing impaired person or hard of hearing

Fantastic experience: I learnt with Alan, and I can honestly say he is the nicest, kindest, most patient instructor in the UK and probably the whole world. I passed first time yesterday, and I owe it to his brilliant and clear instruction. He has a great sense of humour, he is so incredibly calm (even in the face of the great dangers I frequently put him in!) and he genuinely cares about all of his students. I really couldn’t recommend him more!

Fantastic experience: Having driving lessons with Ian at Amigos Driving School was a great pleasure! I am so grateful for Ian as my instructor. He was understanding, patient, calm and provided feedback, teaching and instructions in a constructive and approachable manner. I passed my test with flying colors My instructor, Alan Tarling has been a great motivation for me to learn driving in the best way possible. He taught me not just to pass but to drive safely. Fantastic experience: A first rate driving school I really cannot recommend more, Ian was amazingly patient and supportive while on the road to a pass. I was rather disheartened from my first attempt at a test with a different school, Ian took me from dreadding driving to enjoying it and passing my test! He made sure that I felt comfortable and confident in the vehicle, his firm style and chirpiness in every lesson really just made the whole process really enjoyable. Fantastic experience: I had all my training with Ian last year, a very calming and supportive, but thorough instructor. Due to relocating to a different city, an injury, and long test waiting times, I had to delay my practical test for well over a year, but with the training and the resources I had from Ian I still passed first time with only one minor!

Alan was always on time if anything early with great communication through the week with extra handouts. When I needed two last minute lessons before my driving exam, Ian immediately cleared up his day in order to offer me a morning and afternoon lesson to get me test ready and I passed the next day! Fantastic experience: There is a very good reason why Amigos has so many 5-star ratings!. Ian has such a positive attitude that always made me feel comfortable when I was driving. All his criticism is constructive and at no point did he ever make me feel bad when I made a mistake. Ian can also gauge well the pace that is appropriate for learner drivers. As mentioned by other reviews, Amigos has handouts for various manoeuvres and traffic/road signs. This was particularly helpful for me since I had driven in the US for a while, so I appreciated learning the basics of driving in the UK.

Fantastic experience: Ian T-J truly is an 'A' grade teacher not only in the eyes of the DVLA but also in the eyes of this student. My experience really was 5 star from the moment I first sat in the car as a 34 year old learner right up until the point I said goodbye with my full car driving licence in a surprisingly short space of time. As the old adage goes "you get what you pay for" and I feel as though not a single minute and not a single penny was wasted. Ian T-J made me feel comfortable and taught in a calm and understandable manner. He kept me relaxed and the conversation flowing, all the while teaching me the 'gold standard' of exactly what the DVLA would be looking for when I took my practical car test. If you are looking for someone who will not only get you test ready and confident on the roads, but also give you the skills to impress the driving examiner, Amigos is definitely the school to use. Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Amigos more. Ian is absolutely phenomenal! I Instantly felt comfortable having him as an instructor. I went from being very nervous to start driving to looking forward to our next session and eventually looking forward to my test. He made the transition from being a complete beginner to being test ready very easy and never once raised his voice or made me feel stupid for making mistakes. The part I really appreciated with Ian was the ability to have a chat alongside driving, it was very laid back but you had the mutual respect for one another making the ideal teaching environment. If a mistake was made it was always laughed off and made better with the stash of sweets in the door! 10/10 AMAZING!!

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test 2 weeks after contacting Ian for the first time. He helped me quit the bad habits I had developed overtime and get new and better ones. I had 2 failed driving test attempts with a previous instructor, but with his helpful handouts, tailor made lessons and teaching skills, Ian helped me gain my confidence back in my driving. In a single week, my driving was night and day different! I can’t recommend Ian enough, he’s patient and makes you feel comfortable as a learner. Fantastic experience: Ian was a great driving instructor! He gave me a lot of confidence and was very helpful with all the manoeuvres. Contact with Amigos driving was great and being able to organise weekly lessons was also really good and managed to get me to pass first time! Having now passed my test and driven quite a lot myself, I decided to contact Amigos Driving for a motorway lesson in order to make sure I'd be a safe and confident driver! The lesson went very well, going over the rules and basics of driving on the motorway and managing to practice getting on and off the motorway safely as well as overtaking when necessary. I would highly recommend taking a motorway lesson once you've passed your test!

He has been flexible, approachable and extremely professional. I was willing to spend additional money on lessons but Ian advised they weren't needed which was really refreshing. His 25 years of teaching experience is evident through his well structured lessons, detailed handouts and step-by-step syllabus. So I only needed about 15 hours of driving with Ian until my driving test. He was always very calm, friendly and encouraging which made me feel more relaxed and confident for my driving test. Fantastic experience: I would recommend Amigos driving school to anybody. Ian is a fantastic instructor and an equally great guy. I looked forward to every lesson which were scheduled every week at the same time to allow me to plan my working week. However, Ian was also very accommodating when my plans changed. As a past school teacher, Ian is great at explaining manoeuvres, hugely supportive and patient. I felt like I progressed every week and his driving handouts were extremely helpful. Fantastic experience: Ian is the best driving instructor you could ever hope for. I had previous driving experience in another country and Ian was able to allow me to adapt to the UK driving test and explain the peculiarities of it, all while being empathetic and understanding. Fantastic experience: Just passed my test with amigos driving school! Could not ask for a better driving instructor. Ian is very patient and kind when teaching you to drive, and will go above and beyond to make sure you pass. He is great at building confidence and teaching you everything you need to know to be a good driver I had previously learnt to drive a few years ago but never took my test. Would recommend him for both first time learners and more experienced ones!

Fantastic experience: Great instructor, I had a tiny bit of driving experience from a friend teaching me and Ian went through the painstaking effort of helping me unlearn all those pesky bad habits that would've failed me a driving test. I still go through all the steps when i get in a car and glance over the wonderful learning guides Ian made. I very rarely actually drive so it's a great visual refresher!

Fantastic experience: I am a qualified driver but needed refresher lessons after years of no driving. Found the lessons to be easy-going, enjoyable, effective and tailored to my experience as the instructor (Ian) called a few days beforehand to pre-empt the lesson. Would very much recommend.
