Fantastic experience: I reached out to Michael for some refresher lessons having passed my test 3 years ago but I’d not driven since. I was extremely nervous getting back in the car but Michael put me straight at ease and really got to know my previous driving experience and what I wanted to get out of my lessons. He was calm, informative, gave me great feedback and built up my confidence really quickly, so much so I only needed two lessons. Couldn’t recommend him more

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my test today with two minors. I proposed a challenge to Micheal giving us 6 days before my test to get to standard. We had several two hour lessons and the tutoring and feedback was brilliant. It was very easy to understand the points he was making and very approachable to ask questions. Without Michael I wouldn't have passed as well as I did and am very grateful. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Michael helped me pass first time with only one minor fault. He teaches in such a way that even me, as the least confident of people was excited towards the end because I knew how well I could drive and that I could do it. He has such a chilled and calm approach and explains things in such a way that you feel as if it’s really easy rather than stressful and hard work. I love driving since being taught by him and am over the moon at my results and they only came because of the way he taught me. Fantastic experience: Michael is a really good instructor. I like how he tells you things in more details than my other two instructors did. He taught me that if the left line is a solid line you cannot drive on it. If it is a broken line you can drive on it. I passed my driving test in Lee on the Solent. I liked how he taught me to position more to the right when I turn right to see the cars better. My other two instructors did not do that. He also tells you the small things to make you a better driver. He is a really good driving instructor. If your instructor did not tell you to look in your right mirror when two lanes merge into one he will teach you how to do it. I would recommend having driving lessons with him because he will teach you everything and he will explain everything to you. Some instructors will not explain everything but Michael will explain everything.

Fantastic experience: Top driveing instructor. I done a 10 hour crash course with some experience before the lessons but my Instructor Michael helped me pass first time.im not one to big people up but this company everyone should use. I will recommend to who ever needs lessons

Fantastic experience: We are three siblings that all recently undertook a 7 Day intensive driving course each with Michael; 11th April 23, 30th June 23 and 17th August 23, we all passed 1st time, with just 1, 2 & 3 driving faults, Rufus, the eldest one of us, first started to learn when he was 17 yrs of age, but then came Covid, and then followed Uni 5 years later in August 23 took his intensive course, and passed 1st time. We all very much agreed that Michael is a diligent and incredibly comprehensive instructor who has the great ability to give instructions and tuition in a calm, confident and robust manner, and the results CLEARLY speak for themselves, he arrived promptly everyday, took notes, re-capped along the way, and completed several mock tests with each of us along the way. We would not hesitate to recommend him, and if you are serious about learning to drive efficiently would suggest that you don't delay in getting in touch with him. We all absolutely agreed that it is far more cost effective to undertake a intensive course rather than long drawn out weekly lessons, in long run you'll probably save money and time that's because you are over learning in 3 hourly lesson which covers a lot of ground in a repetitive manner meaning that it is more likely to stick than when learning once a week, it becomes a habit and you begin to feel more like a regular driver than just a learner, consistently consolidating, and repeating everything taught.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend using driving excellence for your driving lessons. I was very nervous at the beginning but Michael was extremely patient and took his time to teach me all the basics, so I felt ready for driving on the road. Michael took his time explaining all the areas of the practical test and making sure I felt as prepared as possible. He made sure I gained experience on all different types of roads and roundabouts and always made sure I was ready before moving on to more difficult parts. He was excellent at giving feedback on what went well each lesson as well as what needed improving, and was always happy to answer any questions I had. I would not have been able to pass without his help, would highly recommend!

But he gave me plenty of encouragement and allowed me to keep going over the areas I struggled with. A week later and I had passed my test. Couldn't recommend him enough, thank you !

Fantastic experience: Michael is an excellent teacher. I had had lots of driving lessons in the past but didn't feel confident on busy roads and never felt 100% in control of the car. I did 30 hours over two weeks with Michael and passed my test. Michael was careful to give me experience of various different roads, roundabouts and even the motorway, and also helped me with the basics e.g. moving off smoothly. I'm much more confident and controlled in my driving now.

I took a 15-hour intensive course, having had a 2 year gap in which I hadn’t had any driving lessons. Under Michael’s professional and calm guidance, I was put at ease with the basics of driving, whilst also being able to develop and improve with clear guidance throughout the lessons. The intensive structure of the course was fundamental in helping me to have the confidence and skill to pass the course, as it allowed for sessions to finish a session with a positive outlook, whilst having constructive feedback that helped me to reflect on ways to improve my driving.

Fantastic experience: I passed today with 3 minors !! I did an intensive course doing 5 hours a day over 8 days! The hours are hard going but worth it 100 percent! Micheal is an incredible instructor and tailors the days/hours around what he thinks is best for you and what you want to work on! I can not thank this man enough - he really knows what he’s talking about and thanks to him I passed first time! Fantastic experience: Thank you to Michael for getting me through my test at 36 weeks pregnant!!! I couldn’t have done this without such an excellent instructor. Michael is truly committed to making his students into confident and conscientious drivers. He is thorough and makes sure you have an understanding of the reasoning behind everything you learn. His explanations of tricky manoeuvres and scary roundabouts were brilliant and helped me to understand what I was doing. Very happy customer!

Fantastic experience: I had been taking lessons with a different instructor for nearly 5 months and kept telling me I was nowhere near test ready. I then searched for a new instructor and was lucky enough to come across Michael, and I could tell the difference from day one. Could not recommend my instructor Michael Excell enough, he is knowledgeable, professional and extremely patient. He helped me overcome my fear for speed and prepared me for possible situations I may encounter on my own. He seems to have a personal commitment to make you a better driver. Negative experience: The biggest joke of a driving school, you cant get hold of them, they dont call you back, i know someone who booked an intensive course for a week and four months later, they cant get hold of them to book a test. Stay away from this company. I only gave them a star because you cant leave a review without giving them something

Fantastic experience: I have spent a lot of time and money and had around 50 lessons with a private instructor and an AA instructor before I discovered driving excelence. But I was still no where near ready for a test. Michael made me realise driving is a lot more simple than it seems with his teaching strategies and most importantly helped me build my driving confidence. He's also one of the most kindest person I have met. I have now passed with only 4 minors!!! And I am so happy to be on the road with my little mini. The only thing I regret is not finding out about driving excellence when I first started leaning! I would recommend to everyone who wants to learn how to drive with the best instructor. :)

Fantastic experience: A new a tailored approach to learning to drive.I have been with other driving schools with so called cheaper lessons and you always get what you pay for! Driving Excellence adapted to my learning style and gave me the driving skills to feel safe on the road. I was taught at the right pace for me and I could'nt be happier with my results. I now have a skill for life, that can now enable me to get the job I want.
