Fantastic experience: Passed first time in Southampton! I highly recommend Matt and MDS driving school. With Matt, you will learn in a method based approach, where each lesson sensibly follows on from the last, with checkpoints for the key parts needed to drive and pass the test. Matt also provided very good feedback and tips during and after each lesson, and will help explain scenarios by drawing diagrams. I enjoyed being able to drive from lesson one and thrilled to have passed feeling a confident driver. Genuinely, very effective teaching and well worth learning with Matt. Fantastic experience: Passed my test in Lee on the Solent recently. Marcin from MDS is the one who taught me so well. I knew how to drive, but I never drove a manual. He taught me all the road rules well, and I was test ready in 3 months. I passed my test on the second try and only had one major and 3 minors in my first try. Marcin is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy. He always pushed me in the right direction, which ultimately made me a better driver. Moreover, he knew all the routes in Lee. Positive experience: I took driving lesson with Marcin (Martin) Pros: He's a good driving instructor and taught me driving and maneuvers well. Cons: He tried to calm me down when I was nervous but sometimes he got impatient and pushy ,made me more stressed. Marcin's punctuality was inconsistent, with late arrivals and last-minute rescheduling on several occasions, however I cancelled my session in short notice (24 hrs) once and he charged me for the whole session. We've had argument on the short notice law and both of us had different views on why it's applicable only to students I started with him in 2022 until November 2023 then I had to take 2-3 month break. Although I told him that I'll move my test to March and would like to start over 2 weeks ago and he accepted. Today he was reminded that he has commitments in March so he can't make it. Now I'm looking for a new driving instructors

I was lucky to have him as my instructor and thankful to him for getting me, my Driving licence in first attempt PASSED (woohoo). He gave me clear instructions and made me understand, what is the correct way to drive by following UK driving rules and regulations. He prompted me at the right time when I made a slightest of an error, which stayed in my mind, when I was driving for my test. Negative experience: I am supposed to not even put one star here but I have to so I can say how upset I am with my driving instructor, Diana. She is so horrible. I missed my practical exam today and she pretended that she didn’t know I had one after my 1-hour driving session with her that I just specifically booked before my exam. It is not true that she is unaware because she knows I have one and it was in the text message when I booked today’s session. I even reminded her when we finished today that my exam is in 10 mins but she let me drove more instead and made me think that it will just be a short one to refresh with some things before my exam. But she kept going and I kept saying ‘I will be late’ but she never listened and kept using her phone as she always does when we are practicing.I ended up missing my exam slot which was so difficult to get. She was cancelling most of my driving sessions with her last minute. She asked me to rent her car for my exam and told me last minute that her car isn’t available. I am not recommending her at all. She is a liar and so horrible.

Fantastic experience: I had Diana as my driving instructor and from my first lesson she made me feel comfortable was always reassuring whenever I got something wrong and would always re-explain things when I needed it. Wouldn’t ask for a better instructor, wouldn’t have passed my test without her :)) Would definitely recommend MDS Driving school!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. Absolutely awful! The instructor Diana is constantly on her mobile phone whilst student is driving, not just taking business calls but personal stuff as well. Texting and generally not paying attention to the student in the car. Cancels appointments at last minute and is often late for pre-arranged appointments. Constantly has no availability due to personal holidays or school stuff even cancelling appointments due to this. Generally very unprofessional and poor service!

Positive experience: Matt is a good instructor with incredible driving skills and lots of knowledge. His idea is to not only teach you to pass the test but also to teach you how to drive safely which was what I was looking for when looking for a driving school. I had to unfortunately change the instructor for 2 reasons. Matt would some times lose his temper a bit and my learning style relies on encouragement and positive reinforcement rather than impatience and tough love. This is however just a personal preference. The second was that after 50h of lessons we still hadn't done the cockpit drill in detail and we didn't practice it often. Tbh I even forgot it existed. We never practiced an emergency stop either and some of the manoeuvres we were doing using the cars camera which I am not sure if it is allowed on the test. Overall, a good place to learn to drive if you like the tough love approach but I wish I had changed instructor earlier.

I always went away from my lessons feeling like i’d accomplished a lot and i’d definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to drive.

He is knowledgeable in the local routes which was a big help to me, and I appreciated his diligence in making sure I was aware of the small technicalities that could have effected my result. Fantastic experience: My husband had a last minute test in Southampton & we didn’t have a test car. We contacted Matt who got back to us straight away and managed to accommodate us at such short notice. My husband had an hour with Matt before the test which he said was invaluable and really helped to erase all those bad habits, reminded him of all those little things to look out for during his test and thankfully my husband passed with flying colours. Fantastic experience: Martin was my second instructor and after a couple of lessons, it was my husband who pointed out: I really like your new instructor, you are just so much better at driving. It took Martin a couple of lessons to teach me how to drive on roundabouts, but it took my previous instructor 6 months to not to manage that. Fantastic experience: My experience with MDS driving school was my most calm with Marcin as my instructor. I had a test booked really soon and Marcin tried his best to get me to a pass in the time we had, but we both knew it wasn't realistic. I failed for rushing myself however Marcin continued to let me drive with him and made plenty of time with me. After the average hours needed to feel most confident when driving... i PASSED!.
