Mark 1 driving school

Fantastic experience: I was Incredibly impressed with Mark and had a brilliant time with him as my instructor, I went into my first lesson sceptical as I had a previously poor experience with another instructor from the same area, this first instructor was unreliable had poor communication and had me waiting for him to appear for lesson and not show and not inform me of why till I chase his colleague to find he had gone on holiday, these are NOT words I would use to describe Mark he was always very punctual and incredibly professional having properly checked my driving licence and have me read a very clear and well worded term and conditions page before the first lesson (this gave me a feeling of hope that this was going to be a different experience from my first) he was alway incredibly quick to respond to messages and had amazing communication through out. Mark was always on time to lessons, never once late. The material Mark taught me was more than just getting me test ready, he taught me more than the test criteria and I felt better prepared for my future out on the roads.A aspect of Mark i really like was his ability to explain the workings of the car on a technical level due to his past in the motor trade, this was something I found helpful and believe others will too. I felt prepared for my test and when it came round I passed with only 3 minors. I felt if I had stayed with my old instructor or chose another instructor over Mark I wouldn't have done as well as I did. Overall I was impressed with Mark and enjoyed the time I spent learning with him. I do,have and will highly recommend Mark to anyone in the area as I feel he goes the extra mile to better prepare students for more than just test day,over other instructors and driving schools.

Negative experience: So disappointed. Mark is rude and has probably one of the worse attitude problems going. I had to cut the lesson sort after being spoken to like an animal. He seems to only care about the money which is not fair! When asked for a refund I was told to ‘jogg on’ STAY WELL AWAY!!!! I would not recommend for a first time driver as he does not make you feel comfortable or at ease at all!!!

Fantastic experience: I started driving lessons again after a 7 year gap, and previously had very little confidence in my ability. Lessons with Mark were great, he's very patient and his lessons are enjoyable. He has a lot of experience and knowledge which were very helpful, and he was very supportive throughout the whole experience. Each lesson is designed to focus on any particular areas you need extra work on or feel less confident with. I passed first time and feel I couldn't have done this without his help. He will not only teach you to pass your test but will also teach you how to always drive in a safe manner. 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning with Mark. He is well experienced and patient. I always felt very relaxed during the lessons, and the guidance and advice always came across really well. The lessons were always well organised, always worked on what hadnt gone well before, always making progress. He is very knowlegable and will not only instruct you on how to pass but continue to be a good driver after your test. I had 3 Weeks with Mark and passed my practical 1st go with only 2 minors. Highly recommend mark, you wont be disappointed.

Negative experience: Highly disappointed!! Mark 1 driving school is more concerned about being paid that providing a good service. The desire for money above all else was evident when he stopped the lesson midway and demanded immediate payment!! The lesson then ended due to his rudeness yet he still collected his full fee for a 30 minute session of abuse. His surprising rudeness to a fee paying member of the public that contacted him expecting a good service, could be down to the fact that the pupils skin colour was not white... I see no other logical reason to explain his sheer disregard for common cutesy. I would advise prospective pupils to look elsewhere if they want a driving instructor with manners and without protruding prejudices.
