Negative experience: I went to Phoenix Motorcycle School to continue my bike training after starting at another school, earlier in the year. When I called to book my training I wanted to be sure that the Mod 1 training would be a full day as my issue with the last school was that it was only 4 hours and that was not enough time to confidently get through all the manoeuvres on a Mod 1 test and gain muscle memory to execute these with confidence. I was assured over the phone that the training would be one full day with a confidence ride in the morning. I did a intro session, an improver session, Mod 1 practice session and Mod 1 test day with this school and I was charged 600£ (not including any CBT as I already had all of this). On the Mod 1 training day we were told the site in Aldershot was not suitable for Mod 1 training and we had to ride to Crystal Palace, I explained to the instructor, I was not as confident on the road and wanted to focus on Mod 1 training as I had my test the next day. We spent the morning riding to Crystal Palace arriving at 12:30 and spent approximately 2 hours at the site leaving at 14:45. For a rider taking their test for the first time, this left me feeling very nervous for the test as it was not enough practice - I mentioned this to the instructor. On the ride back we were asked to filter through traffic, as new riders this felt incredibly dangerous. On the following day, I had my test and I was again asked to filter through traffic on my way to Southampton (where the test was booked). On this occasion I refused to filter as it did not feel safe to do so. It feels like this school sets you up to fail your test charging you 240£ for a Mod 1 practise and only giving you less than half a day to get up to speed for the test. By setting you up to fail you are forced to give them another £125 to try to take the Mod 1 test again. I called Steph in the office to explain my concerns with the training following my experience this week and I was given a number of excuses and unhelpful comments such as "you would feel tired practising all day", to which I responded we were still riding all day to and from Crystal Palace, we spent more time on the road than actually preparing for the test (which is all off road). Steph in the office was not horrible at all, she seemed like a lovely person but her responses did not help me in the slightest . Steve, my instructor, was a nice man and with the right resources he might have had a better chance at getting a pass for his students but all three Phoenix Training students taking their test on Wednesday failed (not surprising with the amount of practise given). Please consider this before booking your training with this school.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with PhoenixMotorcycle Training. Chris the instructor was very good at giving expert advise and tips to help me improve my riding skills to enable me to pass the MOD1 and MOD2 tests and get my full bike licence. I found Chris to be very help and honest can’t fault him in any way. It is also a pleasure to deal with the admin staff also very polite and helpful.

Got me through my MOD1 and MOD2 first time and Chris (Ash site) is a great trainer. Fantastic experience: Had my second cbt here today with Chris and Stuart. Both of them were super informative. Covering more than I was taught in my last cbt. They were super reassuring and patient and professional! Took me the loveliest route too when it came to the ride out, I will be reccomending this place to anyone I know who wants to get a cbt!

He truly wants the best for his students, stays with it when you need more time and moves you along when you are ready. All in all a very enjoyable day and I truly feel confident enough to move onto my full license very soon.

Fantastic experience: I took my CBT and Mukhtar was my instructor. I’ve been in a bike before in a carpark, but not had any real instruction on bikes and Mukhtar was amazing putting me at ease and giving me much more confidence. He really made me want to achieve and was supportive, giving great tips on how to operate the bike in multiple manoeuvres. Big shout out to making my CBT a positive experience. Will be doing a full licence with Phoenix for sure.

Fantastic experience: I booked my 16 year old son in for his CBT and it was a fantastic experience for him. His instructor Mukhtar was brilliant, he put Jack at ease right from the start and thanks to his experience and guidance, he is already looking forward to next year when he can do his 125 test. Again, many thanks to Mukhtar for being a great instructor and very nice bloke.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyable experience. John keeps a cool head even when basic mistakes are made. Went to the Farnham/Aldershot school, and John made us feel so at ease and welcome. It doesn’t matter if you have experience or are a complete novice, the training is really great! I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to get any licenses.

Fantastic experience: Having not ridden a motor bike in 35 years I wanted a refresher course to see if this was something I wanted to try again. Jon was an excellent tutor. He supplied all the equipment, including a 650 motor bike and we started regaining confidence with cones in the car park. Turns, braking, slalom and emergency stop were all undertaken. Then we went out on the road for an hour or so and Jon through a connected mike instructed me clearly through each situation as it arose and I quickly became engaged and confident in riding safely around the roads. Jon was brilliant and I would highly recommend his tuition for anyone thinking of getting back onto a bike, even if your break was not quite as long as 35 years like mine!

Negative experience: I felt this Training was incredibly unhelpful, and wasn’t actually training, it felt as if you needed to know how to ride a motorcycle before you even got there. The instructor seemed impatient, and was taking calls during the lesson. We ended up only riding the motorcycles for 3 hours and didn’t even ride on the road. If felt as if he had decided who was to pass and fail before he even turned up. If faults were made we got no help or instructions on how to fix it, and instead had to rely on tips from the other Students to try and improve. Very stressful and a complete deterrent to new riders. To new riders, a complete waste of money.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Phoenix enough if you're looking to learn to ride. As a total novice with no experience, I had great instruction from CBT through to Mod 2. I had Chris teaching my Mod1 and Mod2 training, you'll never find a more patient individual in your life. Had to do Mod1 twice (my fault on the day when nerves got me) but passed Mod2 first time. I wouldn't go anywhere else if you're learning, best in the area!

Fantastic experience: I had my CBT training a couple of weekends back and it was very beginner friendly! I very very rarely leave a review but the instructor Mukhtar was exceptional and professional in the way he delivered the training! Would highly recommend to anyone! I will be booking my Theory, A1 and A2 with Pheonix soon!

Fantastic experience: My experience with Jon and Chris at Phoenix Farnham has been nothing but a joy. As a very anxious person I required a little bit more to get on to riding that most, Jon was more than happy to work at my own pace and learning style as I did a number of hours before attempting a CBT with Chris. Jon was also happy to work as was convenient for me, even while he was quite poorly, which he didn't have to do. I ended up doing my CBT with Chris who was new to the school but turned out to be a great instructor who was extremely calm which I found to be a great stable foundation. Both Jon and Chris are fantastic instructors I'd not hesitate to recommend to anybody. I passed my CBT first try with Phoenix and I look forward to moving on to a bigger license with them soon. Negative experience: Awful company, money stealing business with no morals!

Negative experience: Do not come here for your CBT training. I am certified forklift trainer and my courses I do are longer and more in depth than the “ instructor “ if you can call him that gave me. Which was a FRANCHISEE instructor so they didn’t even use there own instructor to train me. The worst course I’ve ever been on, didn’t help me master anything on the bike in 4 hours and then called the day off then after I paid £160. He got a lovely early finish and made £160 for 4 hours of inadequate training. They then didn’t give me a refund for this awful training and blamed it on my skill level. Funny that I went to a different company and in 45 minutes instructed me properly with the correct knowledge helped me master all the sections I needed to carry on to the roads. Basically due to the instructor being so bad at teaching they took £160 from me and left me not wanting to ride a bike again. Please go anywhere but here. ( if I could give 0 I would )

Fantastic experience: Jon is a great instructor, very knowledgable, good instruction and I would personally recommend him to everyone. I did my full license from CBT to Big Boy license. I will also be doing my advanced riding with Jon in the Spring. Unlike other schools Jon has great bikes with ABS, which is very useful specially in winter and wet conditions. I liked the bike so much I ordered a new one within 10 minutes of passing. I had talked about getting my license for over a decade, my advise to anyone just give Jon a call and make it happen. Fantastic experience: Having just completed my full A licence training I can now give a huge shout out to Jon and the team at Phoenix. My whole experience from novice through to passing MoD 2 has been made so much more enjoyable because of the professionalism and care Jon and the team show throughout the process. Supportive and nurturing, and focused on building your skills and confidence really helped me to achieve my goal of passing. I started my experience around 2 years ago, I unfortunately did my CBT with another trainer in the Farnborough area. Phoenix and the other trainer, were like day and night. There seems to some arrogant cowboys out there, that make the experience very unpleasant. Jon however was exceptional. Communication from the office was thorough, efficient and made the booking process pleasant. Jon as a trainer, was exceptional. Being a avid off road rider and not done much on road riding, I had a few bad habbits and got myself into few unlucky situations on my mod 2 tests. Jon was patient through the process, explained everything very well off the bike and on rides. The bikes are well maintained and well kept. If you looking for a good experience and thorough training, get down to Phoenix Motorcycle Training Farnham. Well done Jon, you are an ambassador for the industry.

Fantastic experience: Jon was the most wonderful instructor. I did my CBT in August, and felt really supported in my learning with Jon. I ended up booking my full test with Jon at Phoenix as I felt comfortable and able to learn well under his instruction. Phoenix was the first riding school in the area, that straight away offered me a lowered bike option straight away. I’m 5”2 and struggle on most “normal bikes”, this was amazing, and I felt so welcome. Jon’s enthusiasm, patience and understanding was key to me getting my license, and getting me the confidence needed to get out on the road safely. I can not recommend phoenix Farnham enough! Fantastic experience: I did my A2 conversion to A licence with Jon. He was absolutely fantastic and got me through mod 1 with 0 faults. Unfortunately I made a silly mistake in mod 2 at the end, totally my fault and nothing to do with the quality of training. He is a fantastic instructor and I will be back!!

Fantastic experience: Successfully completed my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests with Jon at Pheonix Motorcycle Training. Having only ridden a bike during my CBT, preparation for the Mod 1 and Mod 2 involved a single improver day followed by specific Mod 1 and Mod 2 training the day before my tests The training was brilliant, and Jon made me feel incredibly comfortable from the word go. His experience at teaching was clear to see, as he was very quick to pick up on where I was going wrong, and gave me relevant guidance to better my abilities and confidence. I will definitely be going back for some experienced rider training when I have several months under my belt. Fantastic experience: I trained for my CBT and then did the Direct Access with Jon, within a few incredibly patient, informative and (most importantly) fun training sessions I'd turned from someone who'd never even sat on a bike to passing! I couldn't recommend highly enough. Jon has a way of making you always feel calm and in control, meaning the lessons are extremely enjoyable! 5*.

Fantastic experience: I did an assessment on a 650cc bike with Jon at Phoenix Farnham Honda and subsequently a half day improver training in December to feel comfortable on the bike. I then booked my full licence training DAS (Mod 1 & 2) in January. With the temperatures being on the cold side at this time of year, the conditions were not ideal for a new rider (cold, frosty and damp) but I was always put at ease with Jon's advice. Jon is an excellent instructor, with a friendly, encouraging and patient manner. I would highly recommend booking with Jon for any of your motorcycle training.

Fantastic experience: If you're looking to do a cbt look no further, you're are in great hands with Jon. Through out the day Jon was very understanding and patient with us. This was my second cbt, the first one was with a different training center. On that day there was a traffic jam and some of was were late, had this been the other training center I would not have been able to attend the training. Jon explained everything in such a manner that everyone would be able to understand and if we didn't he would help with any questions. Through out the day we have done lots of motorcycle skill exercises and Jon was spot on telling people to take a breather and relax when we started to get frustrated. He guided us through the exercises and gave us very helpful tips. On the down time we had a great chat while we had something to bite. Safety comes firts and he was really good at accessing who was road ready and who needed some more practice. When came to element E Jon saw that I was almost up to standard and needed a lil more time on the road until I was ready to ride on my own so we took a little more time after the 2 hour drive until I was ready. Jon went above and beyond for us, he really wants to help you. Be assured I will be telling everyone I know to come train with you. Thank you Jon. Hope to see you soon for my full license training.

Fantastic experience: Jon was really great in helping me pass mod 1 & 2 first time! Approach to training is really focussed on developing understanding how to stay safe on the bike. I realised it has actually made me a better car driver as well! Couldn't recommend more

Fantastic experience: I had CBT then full bike training with Jon and couldn’t have asked for better. Jon is a great instructor; clear, methodical and patient. His years of experience come through in the training and he’s a really nice chap to boot. He doesn’t over teach, so once you’re confident he’ll give you breathing space to ride and only prompt when needed. He also gives you ample time to get extra practice where needed (for me it was U turns). The bikes are also good and modern, which probably helps too. Overall a great experience and went into the tests (and passed) with complete confidence.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend these guys enough! Recently had my cbt with Jon and honestly, couldn't have asked for a better day, trainer, experience, anything. Really thorough, not just simply trying to rush through each element, really take the time they can to ensure you're safe, feeling confident and, as much as possible, learning at your own pace. Fantastic experience: I successfully completed my CBT, Module 1 and Module 2 with Jon Hewitt. Training at each stage was really thorough (there is a lot to take in), with plenty of practice of each skill and technique before moving on. Jon is very patient and approachable and great at building your confidence. I will be going back for further training, I cannot recommend Jon highly enough.

Fantastic experience: CBT TRAINING (MANUAL 125cc) PROFESSIONAL - KNOWLEDGABLE - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INSTRUCTOR!! This was my first experience of PMTF and can't recommend them enough. At the ripe age of 48 I have finally got around to starting the ball rolling with the goal of passing my full license. Stage 1 CBT - Despite the challenging elements on the day (40MPH gusting winds and rain storms!) Jon made me and the other learners at ease. A great all-round friendly instructor, highly professional, knowledgeable, and a lot of patience. There was a lot of modules to cover during the day combined with the adverse elements certainly made things challenging but by the end of the day it was so rewarding to receive our pass certificates and now gives me the confidence to move forward with my full licence. The bike and equipment I hired for the day (helmet, gloves, jacket, boots and trousers) was all good quality, modern and clean. Many thanks again Jon and team - keep up the good work!!

Mark went out of his way to get me in ASAP and once we started, John Hewitt gave absolutely Stirling training......patient, knowledgeable, detailed and professional. Fantastic experience: What a fantastic, confidence building CBT experience. The Instructor, Jon Hewitt had a wonderful style, lots to impart to the 3 of us, all with different starting points and needs. We all left after a full day's training buzzing with enthusiasm and confidence that we now had the knowledge, tools and experience to embark on our motorcycle journey..... We will all be using Phoenix again in preparation for the next level of tests, but also to learn to get better and safer as we enjoy our hobby, commute and touring activities.

Fantastic experience: I found this riding school thanks to Honda and their special offer on a new bike if one takes Honda approved training provider. I am so glad I went with these guys. Everyone I interacted with has been totally professional and went well beyond my expectations. Booking the courses, scheduling, amendments, everything was communicated promptly, proactively and adhered to as promised. The Phoenix call centre staff, Steve and Helen deserve a special thanks from me as they really tried to fit everything around my busy life so I managed to go through the whole course without losing a single day of my holiday entitlement at work. But above all the results speak for themselves. My CBT instructor Jon stayed with me much longer than the prescribed number of hours sacrificing his personal time until he was completely satisfied with my riding standards. I have been given useful advice for the theory test preparation and passed on first attempt. I took an improve a day on a big bike to get the feel of the big bike and get myself ready for the full course. This was money well spent and I would recommend this especially to anyone taking a direct access route without much previous riding experience. I could not believe my luck when for the Mod1 preparation both my CBT tutor whom I liked so much I asked to connect with him on LinkedIn and the owner of the whole company Mark himself were teaching me on the day and both of them came with me on the Mod1 test day as well. Needless to say, pass on the first attempt. Mark is certified to teach at the highest level of riding (Masters) and teaches instructors, too. While preparing me for the Mod2 he used the opportunity to convey also elements of advanced riding courses to give me a taste what I would be getting should I decide to pursue further education after my full motorcycle licence acquisition. I most definitely intend to do so as the best bike upgrade is software - the rider. Mark's sense of humour and didactic methods were very effective steadying my nerves on the Mod2 test day and again pass on the first attempt. If you want value for money, effective teaching, impeccable professionalism with a human touch, this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: I had never ridden a geared bike before, and Mark took that into consideration straight away. Slow steps with support every step of the way. From basic turning and training first thing, to riding on dual carriageways with confidence that afternoon!. He was also a lovely bloke who had patience & plenty of knowledge about bikes and the highway code. I can’t compare this to another experience as I haven’t had one but would I advise a learner to train with Phoenix based on my experience... absolutely!. 10/10 - will 100% be going back for module 1 & 2.

Fantastic experience: Marc was an amazing instructor he was patient and kind, always reassuring you he let you learn at your own pace. The bikes were new, and well looked after. This is probably the best team to learn to ride with I have come across well worth paying for.
