Fantastic experience: Amazing teacher, lots of patience and great advice!

Fantastic experience: I started to learn to drive in October 2024, I am in my late 20s and i was very nervous to start but Ian quickly put me at ease. Ian is a very calming driving instructor, he explains things very carefully and well, he checks your understanding before moving on. I passed 1st time with 2 minors. I would recommend Ian to absolutely everyone.

Fantastic experience: I started learning with Ian in September 2024, before this I had been with a different school and had failed a couple tests and my driving confidence was low. Ian listened to me and looked at my weak areas and helped bring my confidence back whilst also enhancing my skills and always being patient, informative and very reliable. I have today passed and Ian played a huge part in this and can't thank him enough!

Fantastic experience: Passed today with only 1 minor after doing lessons with Ian. He's a great guy and really puts you at ease. It's been a pleasure doing my lessons with him.

Fantastic experience: I'm thankful to have Norbert as my manual driving instructor. He's my second instructor. I'm not a fast learner and took me 120 hours to finish and practise. But Norbert still teaches me and I finally passed my 2nd attempts. Recommend anybody who wants a driving instructor in St Helens or Warrington.

Fantastic experience: Gareth from the Ormskirk/Skem area has just helped my son to pass his test. He has honestly been brilliant, got him through his test which he passed with very few minors, but also really helped boost his confidence. He was a great tutor and mentor, we couldn’t recommend him more.

Fantastic experience: Ian is awesome! He's my third driving instructor and Ian has made it so easy for me to learn. Knows how to talk to and interact with nervous drivers and make them feel at ease. I'll actually be sad to pass my driving test as I enjoy my weekly lessons with him.

Negative experience: I began with a driving instructor and all was well. Then without notice, he quit working for the company. When I contacted the company, they told me they had no one else available in my area, which left me out all that money and in limbo. They finally assigned me another instructor, not informing me he had an upcoming instructors test himself. I was 2 lessons from taking my test and find out he failed his test and can no longer be my instructor. Once again leaving me out all that money and with no instructor so close to my test. Was told I would be placed with yet another instructor, but it has been almost 2 weeks and nothing! DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you want your time and money wasted!!

Fantastic experience: I recently passed my Test with Geoff, and I don't think I would have been able to do it without him. He has helped me a lot over the past two years. Always having a good time while learning to drive. I can't say enough good things about Geoff.

Fantastic experience: I passed with Ste Weir and honestly couldn’t have done it without him, so supportive and went the extra mile in everything he did. Highlight of my week was my hour lesson with Ste. Always having a laugh while also learning how to drive. He is so patient and doesn’t hesitate to further explain something your struggling to understand. Couldn’t recommend him enough - I’ll really miss learning with Ste!

Fantastic experience: Ste Weir was my driving instructor I’ve had a few before but none have been the right fit for me, Ste was brilliant from the start I felt comfortable with him straight away. You can have a laugh and a joke with him whilst he’s also professional and always teaching you in a structured way while making it enjoyable. The days leading up to my test Ste had his work cut out for him I was a nervous wreck, but he was really supportive and always patient with me and I really recommend him and the driving academy to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Stephen Weir was my Driving Instructor. He was an amazing teacher, I came to him in pretty poor shape and he completely turned my drive around in four weeks. Ive just passed my test and got great feedback from the Examiner. If you are looking for a patient, competent and forward thinking Driving Instructor, look no further, his time was worth every penny. He has a great balance between being a professional, and someone you can relax with, which for me was excellent to getting me on my way to passing my test. Anyone who lets me know that they are gonna start taking lessons, i'll be sending them over to him.

Fantastic experience: I had previously been learning with an instructor in Manchester, and had failed a couple of tests. On moving back to Liverpool, I contacted The Driving Academy and was put in touch with Stephen. It absolutely changed my experience of driving and actually made it enjoyable, where as I previously saw my lessons as a chore. I could not have been any luckier than getting Stephen as my instructor - he taught me new, much more straightforward ways to complete an manoeuvre, was always so complimentary and encouraging and treated every mistake as a learning opportunity and never made me feel bad or worried about making them - even as my test loomed closer. I am also an absolutely bag of nerves before tests but Ste was so patient with me and helped me to put things in perspective and take some of the pressure off of myself. I really really couldn’t recommend Stephen and The Driving Academy any more - I definitely owe my pass to him!
