Negative experience: SCAM... I did 6 months of lessons and paid around £500 on lessons only for them to pull my ability to use the car for my test less than 3 days before my test which left me unable to source a car on such short notice and had to pay out of pocket to reschedule my test which the closest date was another 5 months as it was such short notice I had to pay again so you will be better off with a more reliable school or instructor.
Hi Craig, Thank you for your review and the opportunity to clarify our policies for those looking to learn to drive safely with us. At our driving school, we follow DVSA guidelines, which state that instructors should only take pupils to their tests when they can demonstrate safe and independent driving for at least 40-45 minutes. This is not just our policy; it is a standard expectation across all driving schools aimed at improving test waiting times, pass rates and reducing unsafe test attempts. The DVSA monitors instructor compliance by recording instructor ID numbers whenever pupils take tests. To support our pupils, we provide an app that tracks progress across 27 driving skills, allowing full transparency on strengths and areas for improvement. Our instructors also give constant feedback, and we send reminders regarding test readiness. Our Terms of Vehicle Use for the Test are sent to all pupils before booking, clearly stating that they must drive independently without committing serious or dangerous faults. These terms were sent to you on January 24th, to which you replied, “Yes I am aware and have made a plan with Dorran.” So, what happened here? Craig, your records show you completed 32 hours of training and even recommended your partner to us, suggesting you valued our service. However, despite multiple reminders and feedback, you attempted to proceed with a test while still requiring instructor intervention for safety. Your mock tests confirmed you were not yet at the required standard, and as per our policy, we could not provide the vehicle. Instead of following our advice to reach the required level, you chose to keep your reserved test slot until it was 3 days after your last Mock test, assuming it would not be cancelled if you failed. To prevent this issue in future, we are updating our policy: Test slots will now only be reserved once a pupil has reached the required driving level. Previously, pupils could reserve a test slot early and adjust based on our feedback, but we’ve had to update this approach to avoid situations like this. So far, the two negative reviews, are from customers who refused to comply with safety requirements. We remain committed to helping pupils pass their tests when they are ready; not just when a test date is booked. We encourage all learners to check with any driving school before joining by asking: "Do I need to demonstrate safe driving before I can use your car for the test?" The answer will always be yes. Fantastic experience: Came up to Aberdeen from down south for my driving test, very risky since I hadn’t even been there before. But had 2 lessons with Dorran and he helped polish up my driving skills and I passed! He was very kind, calm and a great teacher. He gave me the confidence to pass when i really needed it the most. Fantastic experience: Having had Dorran as my Driving Instructor has been a great experience. He taught me everything I needed to know for the test and took me to practice different driving situations, thanks to which I passed the test on my first try. I would recommend Dorran as a driving instructor as he will adapt to the student and make sure to communicate the information as clearly as possible, taking into account your preferred learning methods and objectives. Fantastic experience: I took the intensive, fast pass course over the space of 8 days. With the help of EnRoute, I managed to pass comfortably. I am amazed at how well Dorran was able to teach me so much and explain things in ways I could understand and relate to. He has tons of experience and is just an all round great guy. He pushes you to get better and learn but I enjoyed every second. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn.

Fantastic experience: Dorran conveys meaningful knowledge and insight in each and every lesson. He teaches you a process of thinking that will help you to deal with different road situations that may arise to make you a confident and safe driver. I had previously failed 2 practical tests and stopped learning to drive for several years but with just a few lessons with Dorran I finally got my license! Dorran is a great person and also taught my brother who also has his license now. We still ask each other while driving "what do you see?". I recommend Dorran to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Dorran was great! He managed to fit me in outwith of normal hours in the early mornings around once a week. This worked really well and fitted around my schedule, as it meant I could do a lesson once a week before starting work. We did extra lessons leading up to my test, and I passed my test on the first attempt with only one minor. I was struggling with memory and retaining information from week to week, and I didn't have access to a car outside of lessons, however Dorran was patient and we had lessons for about a year. This was really helpful as it meant I could learn at my own pace. We had a good laugh along the way and I couldn't have passed without Dorran's help and encouragement!

Fantastic experience: Dorran was always a really kind and supportive driving instructor and made me feel comfortable and confident with driving. He was very patient and explained things very well including using visuals aids and examples, I highly recommend him if your looking for an instructor

Fantastic experience: Dorran helped me learn to drive over the course of 10 days through the ‘intensive’ fast-pass course. With his guidance I managed to pass the test on my first try. Very calm and comfortable learning experience, even with the short time frame! Cannot recommend En Route enough to learners!

Fantastic experience: Tried non intensive lessons for a while but didn’t work for me. I then found Dorran who helped me through an intensive fast pass course and I passed first time! Would highly recommend - very friendly, helpful and instructive.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has just passed using Dorran’s driving services less than 3 months after her 17th birthday. He is a brilliant instructor who put my daughter at ease as soon as she got in the car. Good communication with her but also with me, letting me know what she needed to work on. Highly recommend and will be using Dorran for my other kids. 10/10!
