Fantastic experience: I found Joe after I failed my first driving test. He is a really knowledgeable teacher and pay attention to details. He pointed out every bad driving habits I had and gave suggestion how to improve them, ensure even I can pass my test, I can drive safely and independently. He is especially good to explain what/when to observe when driving in a difficult road by giving some reference points and also explain afterward why need to do so. Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend Joe enough – he was extremely patient when I made mistakes (which was often!) and explained things clearly and thoroughly. He’s friendly and a good laugh which helped a lot with my nerves, and his support and encouragement helped with building my confidence as a driver. He tailors your lessons to focus specifically on areas that you’re struggling with until you get them right, and goes beyond just teaching you how to pass your test – he also trains you to be a safe, observant, confident driver. I always looked forward to our lessons and was able to pass on the third attempt thanks to him (would have been sooner had I paid a bit more attention!). Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Joe highly enough. He was such great driving instructor, really patient and encouraging. He helped me build my confidence up after having a bad experience with a past instructor. He taught me to find my own way of driving rather than just teaching by the book, this approach really helped and has set me up to become a confident driver. He was also very flexible in pick up locations and was able to schedule around my university timetable. He was also very supportive in finding me a new test date when we couldn't do my initial date.

Fantastic experience: Honestly couldn’t be more happy with the service provided, was thorough with their explanations and really patient, calm and collected when I was making mistakes. Started doing lessons with them in May 2022 and passed in January 2023 first time, but could easily have been sooner had I been more confident. Would very much recommend if you are in the Leamington/Warwick area.

Fantastic experience: Our son passed his driving test first time today after having lessons with Joe on and off since 2020. Despite disruption to lessons thanks to covid Joe remained dedicated and really helped to keep our son focused on learning to drive. This proved to be invaluable. Joe is extremely patient and reliable and takes the time to get to know his students really well. Our son felt comfortable with Joe and he is a person who generally struggles in the company of people he is not familiar with. Our son was always willing to go out and drive, he enjoyed his lessons and always took on board what he was taught. We are so proud of our son passing his test today and we are very thankful to Joe for helping him get there! We’ve already booked Starbuck for our other son ready for next year!

Fantastic experience: Joe is a brilliant instructor and I recommend him unreservedly. I am a “mature” student, having driven infrequently for 20-odd years in Canada with an automatic car. Coming to the UK, I wanted to learn how to drive a manual car and get used to driving on the “wrong” side of the road. Little did I know I also had very bad driving habits engrained in me over the years! Joe helped me overcome these during our lessons with much patience and a knack for comprehensive explanation. Fantastic experience: I've been taking driving lessons with Joe for a long time with large breaks in-between due to covid disruptions. I stuck with him this whole time as I genuinely couldn't imagine having anyone else teaching me to drive. Sure, anyone can teach you how to drive but Joe will teach you how to be a good driver. He won't just show you how to control a car, he will fully commit himself in making sure that you become the safest and most aware driver you could possibly be. Joe is able to do this because he's gotten driving down to a science - quite literally. Namely, he will immediately observe that you're doing something wrong, he will identify exactly why you're doing it wrong (e.g., lack of awareness/planning, panic or not remembering procedures) and he has a talent for precisely explaining how to fix your faults. He'll even draw a picture on his iPad or get google maps out to illustrate! He has so much experience that his advice works every single time. All you have to do is listen to him, it's that simple really. As if all of this wasn't amazing enough he's also a truly lovely person. You can trust him to chase away any self-doubt you have about your driving capabilities and he will help you build confidence in yourself. I'm really going to miss my lessons with him now that I've passed my test - he's that fantastic! I recommend Joe without hesitation to anyone wants to learn how to be a great driver.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed learning to drive with Joe. He helped me ease back in to driving straight away after a bad first test with a different instructor and disruption due to COVID, and immediately helped me overcome bad habits I'd previously picked up. Joe is particularly good at explaining what to do, meaning I actually understood what I'm doing rather than simply doing it, and this made me feel more confident approaching situations I previously would have been really nervous about. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Joe, who is a very kind and patient driving instructor. He is very good at teaching as he breaks relatively complex things down into smaller, easier-to-understand parts. He supports his teaching with visual aids on his iPad to show or demonstrate a situation that you have come across, which helped me to clarify and understand where to improve. Also, his Polo is in good condition for practicing and the perfect car to learn manual driving. After 10 hours of lessons with Joe, I passed the test at my first attempt with no faults.

Fantastic experience: After learning to drive on and off for about 2 years and with 3 different instructors I was nervous when I started learning with Joe. However I had nothing to worry about, he’s great. I’d taken 3 driving tests and failed before starting to learn to drive with Joe so my confidence in my ability and driving in general was at an all time low. In reality once I started weekly lessons my confidence grew, every week everyone around me noticed that I wasn’t as nervous for my lessons and actually was looking forward to the prospect of driving as apposed to seeing it as a chore. I found Joe really patient and kind and he didn’t get annoyed at me for any of my mistakes. He explained everything really well and if I had an queries it was never a problem. I really recommend learning to drive with Starbuck driving because I never thought that I could do it but here I am pouring myself a prosecco because I’ve passed! Thanks Joe!

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Starbuck driving enough! I had 2 different driving instructors prior to Joe because I felt I wasn’t getting the education and understanding I needed. As soon as I began my lessons with Joe Starbuck he made me feel at ease and built up my confidence rapidly. He also made everything very clear and I felt comfortable asking questions if I wasn’t sure about something. Not only this but he was totally reliable. I passed my test first time due to his knowledge and teaching skills. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Joe - I passed my test first time, but more importantly I think he's made be a really good driver. He drilled me with such good habits that I now feel confident getting out there driving. I also thought he had a fantastic dry sense of humour - I'll miss all the chats that interspersed him telling me my observations were all over the shop... :)

I had previously had two other instructors before joining starbucks driving school, who were unreliable and shouted at me alot for small mistakes. Joe on the other hand was always reliable and patient and explained any mistakes. I passed today first time with this driving school and i honestly would recommend joe to anyone looking to learn to drive.

Positive experience: Really consider that all 5 star reviews are not representative, didn’t have the best experience and changed instructor. Happy to discuss but didn't want to leave all the details on here, in brief we waited for lessons for my daughter based on the 5 star review and in the end didn't feel that the 5 star rating was reflected in our experience. May have just been down to personalities but felt the money spent on lessons with yourself would've been better spent with the instructor we eventually went with who, we felt, was very patient and professional. Just an honest opinion and with people in the same position as us relying on reviews on google just felt that it should be a representative and balanced view of all experiences.

Fantastic experience: I looked at the reviews on line of different driving instructors and Joe seemed to have the best reviews for what I think would suit me when learning to drive. All his pupils emphasised his patients and calm approach (which is one of the best qualities of a teacher for me). When I first tried to book lessons he didn’t have any availability, but because his reviews were so good I thought I’d wait, until he had a space. I can say that it was well worth the wait Joe is very good at explaining the techniques and reasoning’s behind each situation in a clear manner. He gives you time to practise all the routes, and maneuvers, and doesn’t put you in for your test before you are ready. This contributed to me passing first time, which was fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Joe is an incredibly patient and fun driving instructor. He tailors the lessons to suit you and your difficulties. I had lessons on & off as I had a baby in the middle. I did pass second time round. First test was when I was 8 and a half months pregnant and I had an instant fail by not stopping at a stop sign. One baby and 2 months later I had a 2 hour lesson then my test and I passed.

Fantastic experience: I have put learning to drive off for my years. I was very nervous around cars and always had a reason that I didn't need to drive. My friends actually bought my license for me and got me a batch of lessons with Joe as he is great with nervous drivers. I think they were fed up with giving me lifts everywhere. I passed in May 2015 and thought that I would only drive when I had to and that I would still use public transport to get around. Well, I haven't been on a train since I passed and have driven to and from Essex three times now. He was a wonderful instructor and I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Fantastic experience: I passed first time with Joe Starbuck. I’d describe Joe as a knowledgeable, relaxed and easy going driving instructor. Importantly, he is able to communicate seemingly complicated information for us learners, in a simple and an easily comprehendible way. He is easy to contact and flexible with booking times. He is also reliable and punctual in terms of picking up for lessons. He is understanding and sympathetic when you’re struggling, and a bit strict if you’re not driving in a particularly safe way, which I think is needed. I also felt very safe and in control with Joe in the car. One thing that did slightly frustrate me at times was pulling over for what felt like long chats to explain things during lessons. However, in hindsight, Joe was only doing this to be thorough and for my own benefit and safety. Overall, I was very happy with my learner experience, as I’m not the most naturally gifted driver and I have no interest in cars what so ever. Fantastic experience: Highly recommended instructor! Joe is a very clear and comprehensible teacher, able to explain complex ideas and concepts in a very relaxed, calm manner. Always very flexible with lesson times and locations, and giving you his utmost attention for the whole session, I definitely found I got my money's worth every drive. He's also a genuinely nice and funny guy, making it very easy to be relaxed around him. Despite me not having access to any other vehicles or teachers and armed solely with Joe's mentoring, I recently passed my test first time. Thanks Joe!

Fantastic experience: As an older (30ish) and somewhat nervous learner I couldn't praise Joe highly enough. His teaching style is very calm and patient, which when combined with the 'safety net' of dual controls made for a very safe and encouraging atmosphere. I was very much dreading learning to drive but ended up thoroughly enjoying the experience and passed at the first attempt. Joe was always on time to lessons and was very clear in his instructions, giving me more and more confidence behind the wheel. This not only made the test feel safer and easier but has also given me a greater sense of awareness and safety in cars in general. Thank you Joe. I did not feel at all confident or comfortable behind the wheel yet Joe was very understanding and the dual controls ensured he was in control at all times which made me feel safe when I made mistakes during the learning process. As the lessons progressed I felt Joe adapted his teaching methods to suit my needs and he remained calm and patient at all times. Joe encouraged me to book my test when he felt I was ready and, owing to his fantastic teaching, I passed on the first sitting. I highly recommend Joe as a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test first time today, after taking lessons with Joe. Towards the end of the tuition the lessons became a lot more focused on the weaker areas of my driving and I went into the test feeling very calm and confident. Fantastic experience: Joe is a truly fantastic driving instructor. Given that I hadn't had a driving lesson for around two years prior to contacting Joe last year, he was incredibly patient in ironing out issues with my driving as well as helping me to improve every lesson. If you are looking for driving lessons in Leamington, there is no one better.

Fantastic experience: I learnt with Joe having had a few lessons several years before, and he was by far a better instructor. Very patient, which was definitely helpful at the beginning as well as very friendly. The diesel Clubman itself is very easy to drive, hard to stall and very responsive. Joe tends to teach by asking questions, which can get a bit frustrating when you clearly don't know the answer, but it does help you to fully understand exactly why you're going wrong. Prices are better than the majority in the area, and JLR contribute towards payment if you happen to be working there. All in all, a good instructor and a decent bloke all round.
