Fantastic experience: I have been taking driving lessons with Terry and just passed my driving test today! His lessons were good and helpful, and I would recommend his lessons for anyone wanting to learn to drive.

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience with my driving instructor Terry - he’s such a great teacher and a pleasure to be around. Terry really helped me to build my confidence up and made me believe in myself. I really enjoyed learning with Terry and passed my driving test because of his help. Would recommend him to anyone looking to feel confident while driving.

Fantastic experience: Had the best experience with Terry! He is by far the best driving instructor I have had and I have had 6 different instructors. Because of him I have finally been able to pass and I am truly so happy. I would highly recommend anyone to use him he is simply the best!

Fantastic experience: I took my driving lessons from Lanes and my instructor was Nick.Nick is an excellent instructor.His techniques gives a lot of clarity to enhance your driving skills. He shares notes and videos which are really helpful.I will highly recommend Nick.At the end of the course you will have detailed knowledge about reading the road which is the key to pass driving test.

Fantastic experience: I first started driving lesson early this year with my instructor sarah. I have nothing to say other than she’s is a lovely and helpful lady. She helped me in so many ways and always made me feel comfortable during our lesson. We could talk like friends and when we needed to, be serious. She is always able to explain what needs to be done and why and help me when i am not understand something. I couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone who is looking into learning to drive. I’m am so glad i had her through all my lessons.

Negative experience: I would not recommend Lanes at all. I went with a larger school as I thought it would be better however I feel Completely conned out of over £200. My daughter had 7 lessons with Sarah and didn’t even get out of 2nd gear let alone do any driving on a main road. I spoke with the instructor and expressed my concerns. She said she spends a couple of lessons doing the basics and then the driving happens but things still didn’t progress. I also raised with the main office but nothing was said as to if this is normal or not. I’ve cancelled with Lanes and will be going with a local independent instructor. One lesson was also cancelled by the instructor with an hrs notice (I get that things like this happen but notice should be longer than an hrs notice). Surely with a larger school there is some Model of instruction that is followed that’s standardised across instructors and there are quality checks to ensure a high level of instruction practices, clearly not with Lanes hence why I’ll be going to an independent who are completely in control of their individual practice and reputation. Highly disappointed.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service. Booked and prepaid for 10 hours of driving lessons, with a confirmed lesson time of 12pm. However, the instructor showed up at 10am unexpectedly, saying it was either now or reschedule for the following week. This was extremely inconvenient and frustrating, especially since my wife had other plans and couldn’t just rebook. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of our time. P.S she also admitted to texting and driving in a SMS. if you want a unprofessional and unorganised instructor who has no value of your time then Mariah is your person. the instructors name is Mariah in the South London area,

Negative experience: Personally I would avoid this company I can't speak for all the driving instructors that work for them but the one I did have wasn't the best, his name was Conrad and I didn't realize until I got a very good instructor how bad Conrad was, he spent every single lesson I had with him on and off his mobile phone, always told me at the end of the lesson what I done wrong so I never had chance to fix it when we did call up to complain the office was just as useless 7 days before my test Conrad refused to take me for my test because according to him I wasn't ready in his eyes so I found myself another instructor in such a small time frame that was nothing but amazing and guess what took my test and passed it first time yet if I listened to Conrad I would never of taken my test he crushed every bit of confidence I had and made me feel awful about my driving yet I had a different instructor not from this company and in 4, 45 min lessons I was test ready and passed with only 2 MINORS! So thanks for absolutely nothing! do not waste your money with this company!

Fantastic experience: Cant recommend Nick my driving instructor enough! i felt he was always fair when it came to our assessments at the end of each lesson and if there was anything i was unsure about we would revisit said maneuver or route time and time again until i felt confident. Learning to drive especially in my 30s was something i went into quite nervous about, but Nick was great, calming me and ensuring i got the best out of every lesson. 5 stars all round!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Lanes Driving school. My instructor, Farid, was unprofessional and disorganized. Despite informing the school and Farid about my upcoming driving test, he was unavailable during the crucial weeks leading up to it. He also missed several scheduled lessons, including one where I had taken time off work and lost significant earnings. Additionally, the school increased their prices without prior notice or any mention of this policy on their website. I also had an issue where I canceled a lesson due to my daughter’s emergency surgery, and Farid kept the overpaid amount without any consideration. Overall, the service was poor and lacked professionalism. I would not recommend this driving school to anyone.

Fantastic experience: passed first time with 2 minors, thanks to my instructor Nick. his lessons were always structured and enjoyable, couldn’t have had a better driving instructor and would recommend him to anyone needing automatic lessons in the orpington area.

Fantastic experience: I was practicing to drive for some time and then I came across Nick & I passed first time! He is very patient and understanding and that’s what I wanted to look for in a driving instructor for ages. Thank you Nick for helping me, can’t recommend him enough!

Negative experience: I purchased 10 lessons for a set price for my son on the 8th May 2024. He is a college student and so has been studying etc. No where on the website, nor on any emails, letter etc did it say that the price was subject to change. LANES, increased the price of their lessons on the 1st of June 2024, but hadn't informed me about a change of price, nor had they reserved the right to do so when I paid for the first 10 lessons. Today,they have told me they will not honour the my original payment and that if my son wishes to have lessons, I have to pay more. I payed a fixed price for the lessons. How is that acceptable? You can't set a price for something, then expect people to pay more after they have already purchased a product. We entered into a contract, which they have defaulted on. If I was to purchase a car, then said car increased in value, the seller would not be able to ask for more money. It's not my fault they decided to increase the price. DO NOT PRE BOOK LESSONS WITH THEM! THEY INCREASE THE PRICE EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THEM.

Fantastic experience: Nic (Nicholas S) is a great instructor, and all around a great guy. I am based in Orpington and used him for automatic driving lessons. I took the test in West Wickham and cleared it thanks to Nic's knowledge of the test variations, area and test routes. He really has lots of experience living and driving around the area and all those help a lot. Thank you Nic, it was wonderful to get your support.

Fantastic experience: I recently passed my automatic car driving test which wasn't possible without Nick's motivation and guidance. I started my lessons with another instructor originally back in 2023 and had to take a break for a few months. Then I changed my instructor to Nick. He changed my outlook towards driving and gave me confidence that I can do it. He picked up my weaknesses and directed me to the correct path. His constructive feedback and breaking all manoeuvres into simple steps made driving lessons very easy and straightforward.

We started lessons back in July 2023 and had a small pause for a few months while I was waiting to find an available test. Terry helped book my driving test, and without him I'm sure I would have been left waiting ages and ages. Fantastic experience: I cleared my test with 3 minors, and a lot of credit goes to my instructor, Nick. Nick has a very structured approach towards each topic and ensured I get enough practice to be confident before moving on to the next topic. Nick is very patient, which is a big plus if you are a new driver in the UK. Additionally, his detailed notes on complex topics / manoeuvres very really helpful reference, helping me brush up in between sessions. In the lead up to my test, Nick constantly asked me which topics I would like to practice and accordingly designed the session plans; lastly having him on the test was a big confidence boost. Highly recommend Nick, if anyone is looking to learn to drive safely and responsibly. Huge thanks Nick!

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor Nick was brilliant from start to finish, friendly and professional, he made learning to drive fun and intuitive. Really happy with the quality of the lessons, we covered topics extensively and I was given lots of opportunities to practice specific elements of driving. I was often given the chance to choose my own areas of weakness, and the lesson could be tailored specifically towards that to help build up confidence in that area. Nick's teaching style was relaxed and friendly, but he knows when and where to push you - this really helped build my confidence and knowledge in tackling difficult situations, and it made the Driving Test seem a breeze. The office staff were friendly and helpful, and they offer a great test-booking service - they found me a test quickly so I didn't have to wait long to take the test or try finding a cancellation myself. I can't recommend my instructor Nick, and Lanes, enough. Really happy with my experience.

Fantastic experience: Managed to pass on my third attempt with Lanes at Sidcup driving test centre. My driving instructor Andy was very patient. The best instructor I’ve ever had and I’ve had about 7 different instructors. He Taught me very well. No complaints at all. Andy always let me know about cancellations too and I wouldn’t have passed if it wasn’t for Andy. So big thanks to him for this. Sue in the Lanes Office was quick to let Andy know about any cancellations too which was also a bonus. So thanks to Sue and Andy for that one. Chuffed to have passed today.

Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience with Lanes Driving, I can’t recommend them enough. My instructor, Nick, was the best. Very patient and goes within your pace. We got along really well and it felt like I was hanging out with a friend every lesson. Fantastic experience: Super delighted to pass my practical test in my first attempt with 2 minors. All thanks to Nick whose structured approach towards driving helped me to be well prepared for the test. I had no prior driving experience and started my lessons around June/July. Nick had been quite patient with me ensuring I gain confidence in every topic and practice on my weak points. His evaluation after every lesson was quite helpful in targeting the right areas of improvement. He made sure to send some notes to revise after every key topic which were quite helpful. I was initially scared of the manoeuvres but the techniques + practice helped me to be confident at those too. I would have never imagined I could clear the test in my first attempt but closer to the test, I was confident enough all thanks to Nick’s efforts. I would highly recommend Nick for anyone who wants to learn how to drive safely and responsibly and pass their test. Once again, thanks Nick :)

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Habib as my instructor. He has a clear lesson plan and is clear with instructions. Today I was able to pass with 0 faults! Would recommend!

Negative experience: I had previously been with Lanes, my instructor was good, but she would regularly stop to go to the bathroom at her house on my time, and not make it up, finish the lessons early, regularly cancelled with excuses which were probably so that she could take someone who had a last minute driving test booked. I would be told the lesson would be at 11:15 and she would show up at 11:30 and was adamant that that was the time we agreed on (I have text messages to confirm this) etc. I was annoyed about this, but had left it, but now when I tried to book lessons my old instructor said she had left the area (Maria). Lanes didn't let me know. I phoned up to get a new instructor as I had a test booked a few weeks away and they said there was nobody available and that I should phone a different company. Really poor service. You should be prioritising the customers that you already have on your books and contacting them directly to assign a new instructor when somebody leaves.

Fantastic experience: I’m super happy to say that I passed my practical driving test today first time with 0 minors/faults! It’s only right that I give a MASSIVE shout out to Nick, my driving instructor, he has been absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have done it without him! Bearing in mind I only started my lessons end of July with no other experience… and have smashed it out and passed first time in just over two months later! Nick has been patient with me, making sure that I felt 100% happy with anything we went over, and if I needed to go over anything again then it was never an issue, always made me feel very comfortable and has just been the best teacher! Most people might not have believed in me with such little time to cover everything but Nick did and we got it done and I passed with flying colours! Couldn’t recommend anyone better! So again, want to say a massive thank you and give a big shout out to Nick!!

Fantastic experience: I was using Habib for around 4 months and and passed my test on Saturday July 1st, in that short amount of time I was shown all the correct fundamentals of driving, before I started using Habib I was already a confident driver with a few bad habits which he ironed out very quickly, Habib was very friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test first time trying on 6th Jan 2022. All thanks to Martin. I could not ask for a better instructor. I learnt with Martin for about a year due to COVID, I enjoyed every moment. I was honestly saddened when I passed as I no longer had a reason to have him passenger while I braked abruptly and hurt his neck with my amazing gear changes. All the hard work payed off though. He understood my weak points and helped me overcome my fears and concerns. He got me test ready in just a few months and because of his teaching, I managed to pass first time. Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Nick enough he went above and beyond to help me pass. Working lessons around school runs etc. I passed yesterday with 4 minors and am over the moon. It felt like he was a friend not just an instructor. He gave me the skills and confidence to drive. Nick is very experienced and it shows in his lessons.
