Our comment from DrivingSchoolsTOP.co.uk about Bike Sense:

Bike Sense is a highly regarded motorcycle training center in the UK, known for its friendly atmosphere and excellent instructors. Many students praise the individualized training approach, ensuring that lessons are tailored to each rider's skill level, whether they are beginners or experienced riders. Highlights of Bike Sense include:

  • Exceptional training with patient and knowledgeable instructors.

  • Strong focus on safety and personal confidence building during training.

Fantastic experience: These guys were honestly great. They do not go after your money, and give you great training that suits your needs. There were never more than two students during the mod 2 training. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. ‘Pay as you go’, as opposed to needing to book/pay for multiple pre-set lessons in advance (and no bolt-on insurance fees). Seemingly no pressure to complete unnecessary lessons once you’re ready. Free use of kit. Passed both modules first time!

Negative experience: I completed my CBT here - and it was good. i completed it with good help from the instructors. However, their treatment of other riders, some who were very inexperienced - was very poor. They constantly apologised to us, because a woman had never ridden a bike before and he needed to explain everything in detail. WHAT?? why is that such an issue (that had to be repeated multiple times?) I saw the looks from instructors as well as the snide comments. Quite disgusted really. This place is great if you already have some idea of bikes and know the basics, however if you don’t - expect to be in some way ridiculed by the instructors.

Fantastic experience: Passed my CBT here over a year ago. Although I made some mistakes the instructor pulled us over and explained the issues. Would recommend especially with the fair prices.

Negative experience: Sent my wife for a return to biking refresher. Waste of time . She was instructed by a rude, condescending instructor who seems to hate motorcyclists. Maybe you’re in the wrong job. £80 well spent !!!!!! Thanks

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT, Mod 1 and 2 training at Bike Sense with Andre and AJ, I did all my training with Andre who was amazing and very patient, no hidden costs with these guys, pay as you go training, unlike some who want £1000 - £1500 upfront, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I recently completed my CBT with Andre. I went from having never driven a moped before and being quite nervy at the start, to confidently riding around the local area at the end. He's an excellent teacher - calm and patient, which is just what you need when you're doing something for the first time and making a few mistakes along the way. Despite the heat, he even took the time to give me a quick intro to riding a geared bike at the end, in case I ever want to come back and progress further. Went above and beyond, thank you Andre!

Fantastic experience: Done my cbt today with Andre and Steven both lovely people and very knowledgeable and helpful. Been a good day can't wait to get my theory done and go back to learn and obtain my full motorcycle licence. Update: Massive thanks to Andre for getting me through my mod 2 I passed today Andre has been my main instructor from start to finish brilliant bloke with loads of patience and has the right support there when needed. 10/10 recommend him and the team to anyone looking to learn and get full bike license Thanks again, Joe Sparrow.

Fantastic experience: Really good training school. I did my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 with these folks. They don’t force you to do a set course but rather tailor your training to your current skill level with a plan to get you trained for your tests and more importantly, safe on the road. Thank you Andre, AJ and Elliot

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT and Mod 1 and 2 training at Bike Sense with Andre and AJ and passed both first time. They provided friendly, high quality instruction and good facilities. They know when you are ready to be tested and will quickly pick up and work on weak points if needed. I for example, didn’t need a huge amount of training since I’d already ridden bikes for 2 years prior, so only needed one 3 hour session plus warmups before the tests to prepare. I ended up spending a lot less than I budgeted and certainly saved a huge amount compared to if I did one of the “£1000+ 5-7 day courses” at another place where I wouldn’t have made my money’s worth with the unnecessary extra lessons. Overall, no hidden fees, no wasted money, and fantastic tuition - I enjoyed riding the Kawasaki Ninja 300! I’d recommend anybody go here - thanks to Andre and AJ.

Fantastic experience: Having failed my first CBT with a different motorcycle training school, I came to BikeSense through word of mouth from some friends. My instructor Andre was an absolute pleasure to be taught by; he is professional, friendly, and very patient with beginners - it really helped to take all the stress and anxiety out of the day and I found myself genuinely having a blast on our 2 hour road ride. By the time we got back I finally felt confident riding a motorcycle, and Andre was more than happy to sign me off on my CBT. I’ll definitely be coming back to do my full cat-A license with BikeSense in the near future, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for any form of motorcycle training. Thanks again Andre!

Negative experience: Whilst I think the others in my group (who were just refreshing their CBT) had a positive experience, I didn't enjoy it being a beginner. I found it stressful and knocked my confidence. I think what became clear is that this CBT is not training for how to ride a bike. But rather how to go from riding a bike competently to riding a bike safely for the roads. Basic bike handling skills consisted of about 10min circling some cones on my own before jumping into the CBT assessment. No check-ins all day, just rushing through the stages. The little feedback I had towards the end I would describe as patronizing, belittling, and impatient. Clearly annoyed by the fact I needed more than a few repetitions to get a manoeuvre. I had assumed it would cover the basics thoroughly, since most CBT providers mention "no experience" and "complete beginners". I think this is reflected in the time to complete the CBT, 5 hours instead of the 8-9 for others. Which also makes it about 50% more expensive per hour than competitors in the area (£30/hr vs £20~/hour). The facilities are also well below that of others in the area. Crumbling tarmac, Chinese mopeds that struggle to start, and bushes for a toilet. I didn't feel confident or safe by the end, and am going to book another CBT elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT through bikesense last weekend and the lads there were fantastic. So fantastic in fact, that I'm going go return and get my direct access licence training through them. Highly, highly recommended! Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: Aj and Andre brilliant guys honest and very good at what they do. Passed first time at a fraction of the cost of most company's they send you for your test when you are ready and safe to ride on the road thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend these guys, we did the try out session then came back for our CBT. They are really patient and knowledgeable and we both thoroughly enjoyed the process. Cheers guys.

Andy Cindrey 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Andre and Steve have the patience of saints when it comes to CBT’s and inexperienced riders! AJ instructed my DAS lessons, providing a tailored approach and giving valuable feedback all along the way. Rather than using a standard 5-day course approach, lessons are based purely on ability and improvement, which resulted in me passing after far fewer chargeable hours than would otherwise be the case. This approach also ensures learners are taught to be good riders, rather than merely how to pass the tests! Whether you’re returning to biking after a hiatus, or just fancy trying out riding for the first time, definitely give these guys a call.

Fantastic experience: I came to bike sense with little riding experience wanting to do my full bike test as soon as i could and they did just that, started with my CBT on 17th October 2022, passed with little to no faults I had already pre booked my Mod1 on the 31st due to job change without discussing this with them and they got me in for a morning training session on the day. (Test was booked for 2:45) did my morning with them and he took me and another fellow biker down to the test centre around 10:45 to see if he could squeeze me in sooner. And he did just that before 11:00 I had passed my module 1 and he had booked me in for module 2 next morning low and behold in less then 2 weeks I have got my full bike test and on the road. I could not have done this without there help, knowledge, patience and guidance i thank them greatly for what they have managed to achieve if you are looking to do your full DAS license i would 100% recommend these guys they can get you from start to finish in most cases for a fraction of the price compared to CAMRIDER.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT with these guys and the whole experience was great. I struggled to get used to the clutch and gearing system but the guys where very patient and informative on what I was doing wrong and how I could rectify the issues and after a while i started to get the hang of it. Can't recommend these guys enough.. experienced guys with a great sense of humour

James Frost 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: It has taken me a couple of months to get round to it, but I was very keen to leave a review. If anyone deserves one - it's these guys. I rode motorcycles as a teen and some 15 years later decided I was clucking to get back into the saddle. AJ & Andre got me through DAS from CBT to Module 2 within 3 or 4 sessions, tests inclusive. Whilst I had a good set of fundamentals to platform off of, I was rusty as hell and pretty bent out of shape 'safety wise' from years and years in the car. The boys at Bikesense quickly sorted that out. AJ is a top chap and it was a pleasure to spend a couple of days riding with him. He is patient, friendly and very open. A great small business owner and experienced riding instructor. I have no doubt that it is these qualities that helps Bikesense learners to feel confident and relaxed on a motorcycle, and to breeze through their riding exams as a result. I am 3 months or so into my motorcycle adventures and loving every minute on the road. So, thanks to the Bikesense lads for getting me up and running again and equipping me with a great set of basic skills to keep the shiny side up!

Fantastic experience: Had a three hour trial bike session on a Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Andrew was a very good instructor and gave me the confidence to ride a moped for the first time. The following Saturday, I came down for a CBT and passed on my first attempt. Andre went through each of the elements in depth and broke it down in easy to understand terms. I can't recommend this driving school enough. If you are new to riding a motorbike like I was, this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: Had my CBT on the 26th June and just want to say it was the best CBT I have ever done. I have learnt a lot more. Had such a great time as and engaged with the other learners and the team. So glad I got my Certificate again. So happy and will definitely go back here again for my next CBT. Was great listening to the team’s stories about their life with bikes etc. Had a great time. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Went there recently for my motorcycle CBT, within 15 minutes of a cuppa we were immediately being taught. I had an extremely pleasent experience and would happily recommend them to friends. It was kindly describe as "Your day out, you paid for it" the instructors were pleasent and willing to let you learn, reassure you, best of all, patient with you. The ride out on the roads was slightly intimidating at first, the instructor didn't rudely complain nor talk down to us. He switched our positions on the road, so we were in front of him or behind following him (Over a couple roundabouts for example) I found that helped give me confidence over them too. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the course, would definitely recommend them and I feel confident enough to ride safely on the road.

Negative experience: I'm sure this is a great place if you're "one of the boys". However, if you are not a natural rider, you're in trouble. The trainers are very knowledgable, hence two stars rather than one. But if you need a bit more help they are not interested. The prime responsibility of any riding trainer is to look after the client. They failed there. Luckily I now have my licence with the help of Camrider instead.

Fantastic experience: Passed all required tests with help from these guys. They know everything there is to know about Bikes. Not just how to stay safe and pass the tests, but how to handle them, look after them and ride them properly. A wealth of knowledge here and the sessions are fun, relaxed and taken at your own pace. Top notch Guys, Highly recommended, Value for money - Five stars from me. Thanks A.J, Lewis, Elliott, Ben and Dave.

Fantastic experience: Got to know the team from bikesense at the MCN motorcycle festival. They were brilliant and got my 16 year old going on a 125 Yamaha no problem at all. Nice and relaxed friendly trainers

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Andy, Elliot and Lewis at Bike Sense, I have passed my unrestricted modules 1 and 2. I actually took my CBT elsewhere, but felt that I needed a more personalised and flexible training centre to make progress. My sessions at Bike Sense were designed around my needs and were mostly one-to-one. Most of my sessions were with Lewis who has a really nice way of teaching and boosted my confidence a lot. Worth noting that, the cost per hour on the bike was a lot less than at the other centre. If you are looking for relaxed, friendly and flexible training, call Bikesense!

Negative experience: Rubbish! Can't Organise a Party in Pub! Told to turn up at 9.20am for my CBT, fella didn't turn up til 9.50am. No apology, no explanation, no responses to my texts & no responses to my phone calls. During the wait, one customer left cos of the delay as we waited in our cars by a locked gate. When the fella arrived, there were 3 customers left, all doing different courses, and the fella running the place said that he wouldn't be able to do all three things by himself! Use Cam Rider instead, at least they know what they're doing!
