RED Driving School | Skid Pan Training

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyable and valuable experience, I loved it! Been driving for 23 years but never liked driving in snow, ice or heavy rain.....mainly because of other idiots on the road! But i learnt so much doing the skid pan training, the chap who taught me was wonderful and really knew his stuff. I've done nothing but recommend this to my friends since I did it. Thank you so much for a great experience!

Fantastic experience: A very well prepared and highly rewarding driving experience. I found the knowledge of the instructor extremely valuable and the skid pan was fantastic. I feel and think I have gained vital skills for tricky situations.

Positive experience: Good experience learning how to control the car in different skid conditions. Simulated icy, aquaplaning etc. There were 3 of us in the day and we got plenty of time driving during the course. Instructor was knowledgeable and gave us some useful advice. Sorry I forgot to note his name but it was Mon 11 Nov at 1pm. The only tip I would give is that it would useful to be able to book the course online. You need to call them office hours Mon to Fri or email even if you have a voucher.

Fantastic experience: My son and I had a delightful few hours with Alan, who knew some stuff! My son only has a provisional licence but this was not an issue, as we were on private property. We enjoyed ourselves but, maybe more importantly learnt an awful lot in a practical way. Not just about skids, but about speed and tyres. The most interesting thing about tyres is that they deteriorate with time, so you might buy a new one from a company, but it has been on the shelves for a few years and is a waste of money. If you go on this course you will learn how to save a few quid! The course was worth every penny and we hope to return next year. Highly recommended by Nick and Harvey!

Negative experience: I worst service and class from red driving school and instructor was Ismail I already told to cancel my class before 10days and cancel at 1 day before I cause the one class they charged from my account due to instructor

Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous day with the instructors learning all about skids and how to control them better, as well as aquaplaning. I’d thoroughly recommend this as one day it may save your life

Positive experience: This course is really interesting and I personally believe that it is beneficial to learn these skills. The instructor was personable, knowledgeable and put us at ease as we practiced till it became second nature. The reason for the loss of a star was the Customer Services and the ability to actually book; after making about 6 calls, leaving a voicemail each time with my contact details, it took a Facebook message complaining for them to finally call me to allow me to book. If you want to do this course I would recommend booking at the point of sale, and to do this on the phone. If you have a voucher it does feel like they have your money and aren’t bothered by providing the service. (I did get to book but it was a long and annoying process)

Positive experience: Me and my daughter shared this experience which was great fun and actually helped me to control the car out of the skid. I wanted to learn this as for when it’s icy on our roads. Would highly recommend this experience.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed the driving experience. Everyone was so friendly. Great idea for anyone of any age to try, gives you a taste of what can happen but more important how to get out of a skid

Fantastic experience: It was a great fun,learning experience. It opened my eyes on how things could go wrong very easily if you don't concentrate on weather conditions.

Fantastic experience: The Skid course was excellent - Our instructor (Mark Cowell) made it very enjoyable with his personalised approach. The skills learnt from him today will come very useful and probably help me to a avoid an accident one day. Thank you!

Positive experience: Yes very informative .A lot harder than on the films .perhaps a 15 minute session in a classroom first off . My daughter who has been driving for just over a year struggled to get used to a big car at first but overall a good course thank you

Negative experience: Terrible. My instructor was on his phone the whole time for my FIRST lesson. But it gets worse. When I tried to get a refund for paying £60 for my instructor to fiddle around with tik tok for 2 hours, Red Driving School gave me absolutely no assistance claiming I had no evidence. Do they expect me to start recording my instructor on his phone while I'm driving!? Absolutely terrible. Got a new instructor at a new school and it's so much better.

Fantastic experience: Rod, our instructor was very personal to each one of us, was very patient and took the time to look at how we all drive differently as individuals. This made the whole day so easy going and fun! Meanwhile getting to learn a lot in the process! Will definitely recommend this course to others and I could see myself doing it again in the future! Be great if there were progression routes in this particular activity. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Super relaxed and fun experience. We came away with new knowledge under our belts which I'm sure will come into use at some point in the future. I was not 100% confident going in and the thought of doing the experience was a little intimidating. I was very wrong. Our instructor was very relaxed and let me take my time. He also let my confident partner be a little more adventurous with what he attempted. The experience was totally tailored to the ability of each driver. The instructions provided were simple and effective so not to confuse you. I definitely recommend every driver have a go at a course like this - it would probably make the roads a much safer place!

Fantastic experience: Excellent driver training experience and a brilliant instructor. This experience shows you first hand how to control the car in adverse weather and what it is like to drive with underinflated tyres. I think an improvement would be to have a scenario based element with a simulator.
