I am a self employed driving instructor with an AA franchise. My car is presently a Ford Puma Titanium with a manual gearbox. I do not teach automatic lessons. I have been an instructor for about 13 years now, following on from a 31 year career as a wholetime Essex Firefighter.
I will generally accept pupils within a half an hour drive from Harlow, in any direction.
I'd like to think that I have a good teaching style, and that can be verified clearly by the number of 5 star reviews that I have received. I can also boast a very reasonable pass rate. I try to ensure being punctual, but sometimes the road traffic gods plot against me.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the amazing Phillip Brownlie on behalf of my son Ciaran for getting him a pass on his driving test. Words cannot express how grateful we are, after being let down by his original instructor 4 weeks before his test date. We contacted Phil who manged to fit him in to his very busy schedule and this man is just the best. Anyone wanting a patient, knowledgeable, kind and understanding instructor Phil fits all the criteria and I would highly recommend. Thanks once again Phil from all of us

Fantastic experience: Phill is a great driving instructor! I had the privilege of learning with Phillip and I can't recommend him enough! I found him through Google, and among the numerous search results for “Approved Driving Instructor near me”, he was the only one who sounded like a real friendly teacher and not a businessman. And he was affordable and near me too. We didn't spend too much time on the basics. I was already driving us to Bishops Stortford and Loughton from the second lesson onward. Of course, he still had his own pedals to keep us safe. Haha So today, I have passed my driving test! I got him to sit in on my test to boost my confidence and help catch my mistakes if I fail. If you're looking for a good instructor that will have your time, and teach you according to your pace, building up on what you already know, chat with Phil. Now that I've passed, there should be a free slot. He's always taking pupils for tests, all the examiners know him already. Lol Thanks for everything Phil. I think you should start recording your lessons and routes and go on Tiktok and YouTube so that people can see you more. Don't retire now.
