Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend enough! Passed my test today first try and I couldn’t have done it without Dominic :)

Fantastic experience: Dominic is fantastic. I can't recommend highly enough. When I was initially looking to book lessons, RED driving school informed me I had to have a test booked in the next 3 months to book lessons and wouldn't tell me about availability until that was the case. I bought my test forward and called back and they then told me there were no instructors available. This caused me three major problems 1) no instructors were willing and able to pick me up in Brighton, and allow me to test in Burgess Hill (where my test was booked) 2) No instructors were willing to take me on that close to my test date. 3) Very few instructors were teaching in the hours I needed to be outside my working hours. Well, no instructors except Dominic. He stepped in, was able to provide me lessons outside of my working hours, for my test in burgess hill, picking me up from work and home whenever appropriate. He was always good at providing the right pieces of advice and going over the bits that were required to get me ready for my test. He's a really nice bloke as well and makes you feel very comfortable. He was incredibly professional as well and whilst I won't go into anything too personal as it's not my business to do so, we spoke about some things going on in his personal life at the time I had my lessons that I genuinely believe a lot of people would have not been so dedicated to being on time / providing lessons at all. To top it all off, I passed first time. I really can't recommend him highly enough and wish him all the success with his business.

Fantastic experience: After calling over 20 driving schools and told there is no space available until end of the year. Dominic was a god send. He has a unique way of teaching. Very personable friendly, he tailored the lessons to my needs, knew exactly what I needed to work on and focused on getting them right. I can’t thank Dominic enough as he made time and effort to get me cross the finish line. Anyone wanting to learn to drive Dominic is your man. Thank you again. Negative experience: Not recommended at ALL! The instructor cancels the lesson without getting back to you and assumes that the application notifies you! Look for another instructor. Avoid Dominik Hatje at any costs! Look for another instructor to pass this smoothly.

Fantastic experience: Dominic is an excellent driving instructor, I absolutely recommend! He really thinks about how each individual student learns and tailors his teaching accordingly. I was initially anxious about taking driving lessons but he honestly made lessons fun and I passed my test first time! He is patient, kind, sensitive and funny. Thank you Dominic!

Fantastic experience: Dom is one of the best instructors out there!!! After my previous instructor had to move away I was so worried about having to wait months for another but Dom took me under his wing straight away. He really helped me grow in confidence and clean up certain things I needed to work on. As an anxious driver it was amazing having someone like Dom as he genuinely cares about his pupils and getting them upto the standard they need to be to pass the test. He is continuously looking for ways to help that are suited to your own individual needs. It’s not a one size fits all at all!!! I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to him for helping me on my journey and to getting that much awaited pass. Fantastic experience: As a late, somewhat anxious learner, I found Dom to be the the ideal patient and understanding instructor. Focus was put not just on driving skills but also on improving areas where I was lacking in confidence. Always looking to adapt his teaching to suit my style, and always full of useful tips for overcoming certain issues - suffice to say I passed on the first attempt! Highly recommended. Thanks Dom!

Negative experience: Worst driving instructor ever scam artist did it through pass me fast and on the day of my test he never took me as I didn't no show me tell me questions saying I was gonna fail and to book more lessons with him and guess what 5 months later with no more lessons I passed

Fantastic experience: Dom has been absolutely fantastic! He has been very patient and thorough with his explanations when I needed help, all the while keeping it fun! I'm so please to tell you all that he's help me pass 1st time. This guy is the man for the job.

Fantastic experience: I have been trying to find an instructor for my driving test which was due shortly and no one was ready to take me in, even though i've been driving in a different country for 7 years. Dominic was happy to provide me few lessons and mock tests to get me familiar with the UK driving styles. His detailed explanations eventually made me confident about the test. Just after 3 lessons (1 hour each) he said i was ready and took the test on 29th December at Worthing Test Center. Luckily, i passed my test at first attempt thanks to the lessons from Dominic. So, i truly recommend him to anyone who is nervous about the whole driving test task.

Fantastic experience: Dom is calm, encouraging and one of a kind instructor. He’s my 2nd instructor and I’d say Dom’s two biggest strengths are emotional intelligence and ability to break down complex situations. Both of these qualities really set him apart from my previous instructor who was also great and defo set the bar high for the next one. Driving isn’t just technical skills, it’s also about driver’s emotional state and confidence. Dom’s really good with checking in with me during the lessons, identifying how different situations affected my mental/emotional state and providing solutions/ideas to ensure I can keep a calm and focused state while driving. I think he would be an excellent fit for neurodiverse pupils out there as he’s great with explaining why something needs to be done and how to view and understand different road situations. He really cares about my progress and has quickly adapted his teaching style to fit my learning style. Just make sure you’re open and honest with him and let him know what is working and what isn’t working, how different situations are making you feel.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dom as your driving instructor. He is very experienced, calm, encouraging with a warm-hearted personality. He explains everything really well, goes over things from a different perspective to ensure maximum learning so that I can become a competent, confident and safe driver! Lesson objectives and reflective logs help to keep track of my progress and areas that need improving. I had a different instructor previously and only recently started my lessons with Dom. My driving for sure has progressed massively with Dom. Looking forward to my driving test! :)

Fantastic experience: I started learning to drive with Dom with Britannia in 2020. I had already learned the basics of driving, and he really helped me to develop my skills and confidence. Dom is a wonderful teacher and makes a real effort to adapt to different learning styles by asking what works best for you. He helps you to develop your skills using explanation, visual aids and practice and makes sure you understand and are competent in the theory and practical elements of each skill before moving on. Dom goes out of his way to provide extra learning materials and recommend other resources to help you progress. When driving, Dom is a calm, patient and encouraging instructor and makes sure you feel comfortable and confident on the road. He encourages you to try new skills and is supportive when you are out of your comfort zone (for me this was the a3!). If you make mistakes Dom is extremely supportive which built my confidence greatly. During lockdown and when I was waiting for my test Dom kept in touch and continued to check to see how I was getting on with driving and provided resources if I had any questions. With his help I passed my test first time in November 2021. He was always kind and friendly, and I really looked forward to my lessons with him. Thank you Dom :)

Fantastic experience: I feel extremely lucky to have had Dominic as a driving instructor. He was very supportive and thorough throughout our lessons giving clear instructions and advice as I advanced. As a sometimes nervous driver he really helped me stay calm and in control in the driving seat by creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that made learning an enjoyable experience. I miss his reassuring presence now I’m driving solo! After passing first time I really cannot thank him enough for all his tutoring and support. Learning to drive has been a big hurdle for me for many years and I am forever grateful for his help and patience.

Fantastic experience: Dom has been a wonderful, patient and supportive instructor throughout a journey that has been both humbling and rewarding. I moved to the UK after having been a driver for over 20 years in the United States. At the start, my biggest concern was getting comfortable with driving on the "other" side of the road and dealing with roundabouts. What I've learned is that the style of driving here in the UK is very different and the test would highlight a lot of bad habits that I had accumulated over the years. Dom has been really great about breaking down my driving style, and building it back up the right way one step at a time. Once my test finally comes around (thanks to the COVID backlog) I'm confident that I'll pass. More importantly, I know that I'm a much better and safer driver having gone through this process with Dom as my guide.
