Fantastic experience: Darren is extremely thorough in his approach, and pushes you and does the best for you. He is very focused whilst being fun during the lessons and his subtle way of testing and making sure you're learning helps a lot. He is also very punctual and accommodating with timings which was incredibly helpful for me as I could only do specific hours. I passed first time with no car of my own to practice in and it's definitely down to Darren's teaching. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a confident, fun and a reassuring instructor!

Fantastic experience: Darran is a fantastic instructor with a great teaching style. He is calm, detailed and great at communicating which really helps you to identify where you can make improvements and progress quickly. As an older learner in my 40s he got me through my test with a first time pass after only a few months of lessons (and no car of my own to practice in) and his encouragement helped me to gain a lot of confidence. The lesson slots were well planned in advance in a great app which also tracked progress and Darran was always punctual as well as keeping me informed. I would highly recommend Darran to anyone looking to learn to drive in an electric car!

Fantastic experience: I'm an older first time learner (did 20 hours of manual lessons early last year, but had an automatic car to practise in, and a gap in driving of several months), and Darran was absolutely the best instructor I could have asked for. Whether you're young or not-so-young, he's very patient, clear, and communicative (both during lessons and about lessons). If you want to get driving in an automatic, I cannot recommend him enough. Especially if you like 80s music ;)

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test today on the first attempt. I am so grateful to my instructor, Darran Curry, who uses a 2022 Renault Megan Electric for the lessons. Darran is an experienced instructor with one of the highest student pass rates. This gave me confidence that following his instructions, I would pass. I took a total of 10 lessons (12 hours in total) with Darran and the remaining 15 hours in my own car. Darran is very kind and provides detailed feedback after every lesson, highlighting both what I did well and what I should keep doing, as well as what I did wrong and what I should learn from. He sometimes complements his feedback with video recordings of incidents in case I struggle to remember the incident he is referencing. Darran is also punctual during driving lesson appointments and reasonable if you need to cancel a lesson without penalties due to unforeseen circumstances. My test route was as follows: • Right turn from the test center onto Kings Hedges Road • Left turn at the traffic lights towards Science Park, then pulled over on the left • Came out of Science Park to take the left turn towards A10 • Headed to Milton Park and Ride and did reverse bay parking • Came out taking the left turn towards Histon Impington (Completing two additional maneuvers pulling over on the left) • Drove around Impington, especially around the Crescent • Came out to take the A10 towards Cambridge, staying in the second lane at the Histon Roundabout • Took the second exit from the roundabout towards Cambridge • Turned left towards Kings Hedges and drove straight ahead to the test center for my results I had 7 minor faults: minor hesitation, not regularly checking blind spots in traffic, cancelling the right turn signal too quickly after pulling over on the left, and driving through an amber light. I did not use the SatNav; it was a combination of following traffic signs and taking instructions from the examiner. My examiner was very kind. My top advice is to practice as much as you can using routes that you and your instructor use during lessons.

Fantastic experience: Darran thoroughly deserves all of these glowing reviews. He is a fantastic instructor; patient, kind, funny, and reassuring. This was exactly what I needed as an anxious older learner. Darran is extremely professional, aways on time and providing updates and well-organised on the app. He must be the best instructor in Cambridge. I passed my test on my second attempt with just one fault. Nerves got the better of me first time, but Darran supported me to give it another try just a few weeks later. I’m incredibly grateful to Darran for helping me get my License. Being in my 40s it felt like such a major hurdle to learn this new skill, but he made it great fun. I’ll really miss our weekly lessons chatting and cheesy 80s music!!

Fantastic experience: What can I say, Darren is such a lovely, patient driving instructor, he took on our son after knowing that he has Asperger's syndrome, when other driving instructors refused him, (shame on them) After a year nearly of driving lessons, Our son took his test, I'm not sure who was more nervous him or me, When Darren and our son came home today after his driving test, they both need Oscars!!!!! Told me that he had failed in so many words, then Darren produced with Our son, tada!!! He passed!!!!! Fantastic experience: Darran is one of the best driving instructors in Cambridge. He would never prolong driving practice hours and he always encourages people to do their best. He is fun and friendly. He has a great attention to detail and he puts alot of effort make you a safe driver. He is extremely punctual and plan lessons ahead. He is an excellent trainer who teaches you with safety and also the rules and gives you excellent tips while driving. I passed my practical test in first go. He knew what I needed to work on and made sure I got enough practice. Unlike some other instructors, his focus is on making his students better drivers instead of them just passing the test.
