Fantastic experience: I passed my Class 2 with Top Gear Driver Training, as I did everything with them from Medicals upto module 4 Driver CPC. I would want to thank everyone at the reception, Sue my instructor as she taught me in a nice way and for being patient with me on my journey, Mark as well. Absolutely a nice place to do driving lessons, definitely I will be back soon for my class 1. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I failed my 1st test because i made a stupid mistake which was my own fault. I passed 2nd time so now I can get back into work ASAP after being made Redundant at the end of November 2024. I would like to thank every staff member at Topgear for helping me gain my HGV Class 1 Licence. Reception staff and all instructors. I appreciate all your help. Fantastic experience: I contacted Top Gear so i could have a go in a C1 vehicle before i do my driving assessment for the student paramedic role, as i’m only used to driving my car. I had Mark he was fab - i did a 2hr lesson, he even directed me around the area where i’ll be having my assessment so i’m bit more familiar and did some manoeuvring at the end. I would highly recommend these! Thanks so much.

Fantastic experience: I attended Top Gear to learn how to drive a car with a trailer. The price was by far the best I found, and the setting is welcoming, friendly, spotlessly clean and well presented. Rachel on the desk is lovely and my instructor Mark was ace, very professional but friendly, I learnt so much today and he was extremely patient and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for driving training and I'm hoping to go back again to learn how to drive a HGV!!!

Fantastic experience: It had been two years since I last drove, and with an exciting endeavour ahead of me—hosting immersive experiential events with my meditation chamber, Merlin’s Chamber—I found myself in need of hiring a van to transport the equipment, including lengthy aluminium pipes. However, the quandary, of course, was my time away from driving. Thanks to Carol and Rachael’s astute administrative acumen, they promptly arranged a lesson with Mark, who turned out to be just the right instructor for me. Mark, with his calm presence and effortless, nonchalant approach, soon helped me dissolve any lingering jitters I had about driving a van for the first time. His guidance imbued me with a sense of renewed confidence and aided in getting me back into the flow of driving with ease. Fantastic experience: This is my second time with top gear and couldn’t recommend them enough. I’ve did 5 day Class 1 course this week and passed first time. Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here doing my Class 1 license after being a class 2 driver for nearly 6 years. Andy was my instructor and was absolutely brilliant. Made everything easy to understand, gave great guidance, and is an all around great bloke. Lovely people here. I passed first time and I’m incredibly happy! Highly recommend using Top Gear if you’re after your class 1 (CE), Class 2 (C), or minibus license

Positive experience: I passed my hgv2 test 1st time 2 minors after training here but I can assure you it was down to my own abilities and not the impatient training of 1 certain individual trainer ! However my 3 stars rating is down to the fact everything else was smooth , efficient and timely but the one individual

Positive experience: I did my 5 day training with top gear and failed first test came back to do second test and failed that. The training was great just could not manage to pass test and now decided to forget carrying on with another test now. I wish you all the best and thanks for trying just ashame I couldn't pass the test.

Fantastic experience: Thankyou to everyone at top gear. I passed my class 2 with them 6-7 years ago and came back for my Class 1 last week. Passed first time with a five day course thanks to Nick,Brett and Andy. I'd definitely recommend Nick,Andy or Sue. Also recommend passing your class 2 first and getting a few years experience, it will help you transition to a class 1 easier than going straight to class 1 from a car which can be very difficult and daunting. One slight minor,the men's toilets are in desperate need of renovation lol.

Negative experience: hi the training is bad I do not recommend. they are nasty, no respect. bad service.. they cheat people say one thing does another thing. reception is very unpleasant. they are taking my money and do not want to leave. but tell me they drove me to a test center a day before the driving test begins. they did not book an appointment for me either and lied that they did. I asked them to give me a confirmation but they said no and angry at me. witnesses there is evidence available. I will not leave training until for my right back. I recommend you 0%. I've never seen a place or bad training like them. 4 days drove with those in tough mode waw I am happy and free after leaving them. I will follow the rules until for my right back. Sam

So far I am very happy & would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn. Update: so today I passed my C+E with Top Gear 1st Time. Thanks to Nick & Andy top Instructors would highly recommend Top Gear. I would recommend the 10day course give yourself the best chance( I am experienced pcv driver & still gained new knowledge).

Fantastic experience: I passed my PCV category D in summer 2019 with Top Gear. Dave was brilliant. Top guy. He is/has been an examiner and really has great knowledge and experience. I passed first time and have been working with National Express since the beginning of pandemic in 2020. When I was doing route learning with instructors in National Express, I have been asked where I did my PCV training because they say my driving is too good. Thanks Dave and all other staff at top gear. I recommend this training school for PCV or Lorries.

Fantastic experience: Trained to do my HGV class 2 here. And also came back to pass my HGV class 1. The cost was a great price to be able to do the 2. These people are very professional and will help you by explaining processes simply making it easier to pass. Passed Class 2 first time and Class 1 on my second attempt (nerves got the better of me). They rebooked my test and I passed within 2 weeks. Andy was the person who trained me in the Class 1, and I couldn't thank him enough. He helped me and made things easier to understand. He even gave up a football ticket to take me to have my second test, because he was the one who trained me and wanted to be the first to congratulate me once I passed. He also phoned up a local haulage firm to ask about any vacancies for me, and I work there now, so thanks to him I also have my first class 1 job. I couldn't thank all these people enough for their help, and I definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to get into HGV work or the Coach Industry

Negative experience: Phoned them to ask for information about trailer course. Lady on the phone said we offer two different length courses but we first book you for free check to see which will be best suitable. I ask them ok can i book it please then she said i will phone back. No call back and when i phoned them to chase it up they said they dont do free check i felt they just fobbing me off its clear lying as they dont want to give you free initial check but i never wanted it its the lady who told me to book that. Complete unprofessionals they tell you different things. I am using the other company which is not only cheaper but straight to point. Avoid these lot!!!

I’d give 5 stars but I’m being honest the office messed up the theory test booking when I got to the theory test centre I wasn’t booked in had to wait another 3+ weeks for another test. Other than that Would recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: After having a bad experience at a previous training school, I was a little apprehensive when I started at Top Gear. However there was no need for me to have been, as I found Wayne very friendly and welcoming and also happy to answer any and all questions I had. I had Rob as my main instructor and Nick also who were both exceptional at what they do, which was put me at ease and teach me what i needed to know in order to pass. And A BIG THANKS TO BOTH OF THEM as I passed with 0 minors!! Thanks Top Gear!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Huge thank you to everyone at Top Gear! Passed cat C first time even with the bad weather we had. I had been recommended to go here I can say it was the right choice. Very welcoming attitude by all with Wayne booking me in and arranging dates that suited me even when I had to reschedule due to a broken hand it was no hassle at all. Great and friendly instructors with Nick seeing me through my training and test and Dave who I had for one day. Highly recommend! See you in a couple weeks for my CPC!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my class 1 (c+e) with Dave. The whole experience was very pleasant. Right from the telephone conversation with Wayne at the booking stage. Throughout the week Dave was patient and gave directions and the ideas behind them. My confidence grew throughout the week and by the time of the test I felt there was nothing that had been missed. I passed first time thanks to Top Gear and if you need driver training you're in good hands.

Negative experience: Poor tuition, failed my class D twice , they charge £400.00 for retests when other places cost £250.00 or less. Went with different training body which said the instruction I had received from topgear was appalling. After failing the first time topgear abandoned me and piggybacked my 2nd test with another candidate robbing me of my lesson before the test.They were also 45 minutes late in picking me up which I felt was disgraceful after paying them over £700 for it. In total it cost me over £2000.00 and I got nothing out of it and a friend of mine failed 4 times with topgear costing him over £4000.00.

Fantastic experience: Passed my Class 2 (Cat C) today after doing my course with Top Gear. The whole team there were great. From the very moment i rang up to inquire about a medical, they sorted absolutely everything out smoothly for me to have the medical, assessment, hazard and theory tests, CPC, 4 days training and the test at Shrewsbury. Each and every one of the staff there were fantastic with me. Very down to earth and great to get on with, which is what you need when training. Will definitely be going back there to do my Cat C+E. Fantastic experience: Passed my B+E first time in a breaking record time. Great experience, friendly team and instructors like no one. Very good at eradicating bad habits, bringing you to the top with nice first class vehicles. Now will think at my C class... I'd like to test this nice brand new fleet !

Negative experience: Passed my class 2 here but did my class 1 at a1 training much better! Tony was good at topgear but that Wayne is an absolute clown. Never again. They also break the law at top gear on day of your test they have no problem takeing two of u to the test centre in a vehicle that has no seat or seat belt for u to use highly dangerous! It's done so Wayne can save money and u risk your life. I have reported it two the police and they are investigating in to it. When I confronted Wayne about it he had no answer because he is a clown who wants your money pass or fail he won't loose any sleep belive me. Also sometimes u may not take your test in the truck u practice in and that is a big no no! All in all I think highly of tony. Rob is a clown Wayne is a clown. They both break the law two seater cab 3 people on board on a public road. Doesn't take much working out unless your name is Wayne... What a numpty.... Ps this review is coming from a class 1 driver with one years experience in driveing articulated lorrys take my advice give a1 training a call and take your test at garrets green I passed first time there. If u fail at topgear your debrief will consist of a calculator and how much Wayne can screw u for again. When he didn't do his job right in the first place ladies and gentleman u have been warned stay clear of topgear.
