Phoenix Motorcycle Training Fareham

Fantastic experience: Recently completed my A licence with phoenix motorcycle school in Portsmouth and in Whickham fareham, instructors were spot on giving help and feedback along the way. Pinky took me on for my Mod 2 test and training and I couldn't thank him more, all the training and test routes were spot on and couldn't give more tips for passing! 5 star recommend for anyone looking to get their motorcycle licence.

Fantastic experience: Phoenix Motorcycle Training Course is superb. Gary, my instructor, was encouraging and supportive, even when I had a meltdown out of frustration I highly recommend them. Don’t look anywhere else, as you won’t get the level of training, and customer support with anyone else.

Fantastic experience: Phoenix are a great training school to learn with, they made the whole experience very enjoyable. From contacting the office to arrange suitable dates from training, the people I spoke to could not be more helpful and enthusiastic about getting you booked in for your training around your day to day commitments - from a personal perspective I had a time limit due to my CBT being due to expire in June. The team did everything they could to get me booked in before this ran out. I had Martin as my instructor for both my mod 1 and mod 2 training, he was brilliant to learn with very knowledgeable and patient in his training style. His style of training made me feel at ease and helped me pass both parts of my test with as little nerves as possible. I would highly recommend Phoenix to anyone who is wanting to learn.

Positive experience: Overall it was a relaxed experience, the instructor was very knowledgeable, calm and reassuring. He had a lot of patience when I couldn't get the hang of one part. I would recommend the company. I do feel that the CBT could easily have been a 2 day course for a 125cc due to the sheer amount of new skills and different elements that needed to be picked up (especially for a newbie who had never ridden a geared bike before), more time on each skill before moving on to the next one would have been ideal but I guess that is also down to confidence and practice. Really glad I got through the day and received my certificate at the end.

Fantastic experience: Having never ridden before getting on a bike for the first time in my 40’s was somewhat of an unknown! I took my CBT in August with Gary and Martin and passed my MOD1 in October, with zero “minors”, and yesterday my MOD2 with just two minors (silly things partly due to the wind). To start with the office team were excellent working with me to find suitable dates, due to work commitments, even phoning me after a cancellation to see if that would work for me. Martin guided me through all of the MOD1 and 2 training. Martin is a very patient teacher, who goes above and beyond to make sure you’re ready for your test. Martin, and all of the Phoenix team (Micky took me to my MOD1 test) teach you to actually ride rather than just pass the tests. The bikes provided are well maintained, and in excellent condition. For my MOD2 I used a brand new bike with just 5 miles on it. Comparing the equipment to other schools at the test centre there is no comparison. I’d highly recommend Phoenix, and Martin to anyone starting out. Thank you

Negative experience: Only leaving 1 star as no option for 0! My son had an awful experience with this company. He actually informed the instructor he didn't feel ready to proceed to the on the road portion of the 'training'. Subsequently, soon made a dangerous manovere within minutes and was unceremoniously dumped back off at the community centre carpark on one of the hottest days of the year, no WiFi and had to walk to nearest village area to contact me he had finished HOURS earlier than I anticipated to collect him. Surprised the poor kid was prepared to have another attempt at his CBT!... However he has and has passed with a different company. His second instructor stated he should NEVER of been rushed onto the road if he voiced concerns he was not ready. His experience with Phoenix did not provide adequate training opportunities, did not cover half the theory he has subsequently done with other training centre and certainly didn't offer any confidence!! Sorry but certainly wouldn't recommend this particular company.

Fantastic experience: I competed my CBT and DAS training with Phoenix and passed my Mod 2 yesterday. Many thanks to Mickey, Paul and the rest of the instructors for making my training so much fun and helping me to allay my fears about the tests. I can't recommend Phoenix highly enough!!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test on 10.07 with Martin. He is a excellent instructor, he always making sure we completely got the skill we need for the test, before the test he carefully remind us again to make sure we get it. I am very confident I feel pass already before I get the test. Just book the course and see Martin you will be 99% pass anyway. I do very enjoy the course trainning with Martin. Positive experience: The most important thing is that the instructors complied with safety regulations, they took care of the comfort of each student, everything took place in a nice and friendly atmosphere, but one thing I would make sure that the center had some facilities where you could warm up and drink in peace, but in general everything was fine

Positive experience: Excellent training from professional instructors. Just a shame the admin side don't like answering emails or phones. Overall though, the job got done and I passed first time, just a bit later than I hoped.

Fantastic experience: Having completed my CBT in the autumn I contacted Phoenix to see what the next steps would be towards obtaining a full A license. Phoenix suggested a big bike assessment for an hour of tuition on the larger machine - highly recommended as the larger bikes are a lot heavier & it was a good gauge to where I was with my riding. As always Micky was excellent, clear, calm & encouraging. Following the assessment I booked myself onto the Split DAS course that would train me for Mod 1 & Mod 2 of the full test. The training was intense, focused & really effective. Both Martin & Micky are thoroughly professional, vastly knowledgeable & really good teachers, always enough input to correct mistakes, good encouragement when things aren't quite right & excellent advice to improve. Throughout the process I felt very well supported & it was great to pass both tests first time. Thank you Phoenix & in particular Micky & Martin for getting me through the challenge & showing that it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks - highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I did my direct access course through Phoenix, after only doing my CBT in June 2021 and only driving a 125cc scooter, I was nervous regarding clutch control and slow machine control and especially my module 1. I had Martin for my module 1, he was brilliant, relaxed but firm and instilled confidence in me, and quickly adjusted his teaching techniques to my skill level. I passed my mod 1 first time with 1 minor! For my mod 2 training I had Mickey, who again, helped me ensure my road riding was as safe as possible. Not only did I learn a lot on my mod 2 training day, but I really enjoyed it. Mickey was a calm presence, who was happy to discuss the different situations we found ourselves in. I want to thank Martin and Mickey, not only for helping me pass and get my full licence, but they not only taught me how to pass, but taught me how to ride safely and gave me the skills required to control traffic and ensure I am always riding in the safest way possible.

Fantastic experience: Hi there , I took my cbt test today with instructor Gary he was brilliant he made me feel at ease as soon as we met comfortable very calm respectful and considerate towards me know I hadn't had any road experience on a bike and I'm proud to say I passed on my first time , I would highly recommend to anyone to use this training school . Fantastic experience: 16july22: Hello. I want to highly recommend Phoenix Motorcycle Training Fareham and Wickham. The instructors: - Gary. (excellent and relaxed when teaching; I practiced with Gary three times in May and June 2022, twice for CBT both manual (including instructor Mark, thank you) and automatic as well as one for Automatic to Manual Conversion. Thank you so much for your patience and help!) - Martin. (around 30 minutes ago, I tried the bigger motorcycle course. I wanted to get a feel of being on a larger motorcycle. I fell twice but I still greatly enjoyed the motorcycle. I need to continue practicing which is no problem for me because riding a motorcycle is fun! So I will definitely take the improver course if I have the time and money to get much more comfortable with using the controls smoothly. Great instructor who provides clear guidance on how to do manoeuvres in the course.) I had earned my Full UK driving licence almost four years ago then I wanted to try and earn my UK Motorcycle licence through the years but work, return to University for a career change, and money were affecting this. So finally this Summer 2022 I was able to have consistent lessons and to hopefully get to finally ride my motorcycle I own (KTM Duke 200, sold it a couple of days ago). But I am moving soon to establish my next career. Fantastic experience: Done my CBT yesterday at Phoenix Fareham, Henry Cort Community College. Was my first time on a motorbike as an operator, others on the course had driven before. Gary our instructor took his time to give me extra assistance and then we decided to go for an outomatic as I could not master the gears. Gary was informative, and helpfult throughout even though he had the extra pressure of me & it also being 3 people in the class. Going to return to complete a conversion course, and hopefully not put more pressure onto Gary. Strongly recommend Phoenix as all the bikes & equipment they leant others were good

Fantastic experience: Starting with my CBT, and just completing my A2 license, Phoenix has helped me through all of the struggles of getting on a motorbike. Great staff from the help desk where I rebooked my tests, as well as the very helpful instructors. For what you get, the price is more than reasonable, and the service you get from all of the team at Phoenix is outstanding. I will be taking my full license in 2 years to get my unrestricted A license, and I will be returning here. Highly recommended, worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: I researched a number of local motorcycle training schools before settling with Phoenix in Fareham. As a returning rider, I was keen to have a consistent CBT, MOD1 and MOD2 experience and go with a school that was well regarded and recommended by friends and colleagues. I was not disappointed. From the CBT with Gary, to the full licence assessment with Martin and the full licence training with Martin and Mickey I received the absolute best experience for my training, roadsense and beyond. Rather than training to pass my tests, I feel I received training to ride and mentoring towards mindset - both of which are lifelong skills which will allow me to both enjoy my bike but remain aware, self reflecting and critical. As a naturally anxious person, Martin, Mickey and Gary used their extensive experience to highlight areas of both my riding and confidence that needed work and provided a down to earth, practical and amiable coaching method that suited my needs. As a result, I went from CBT to passing my full motorcycle licence in the space of two months, supported by the excellent staff to ensure the training and test days allowed me to work around home and work commitments. I would strongly recommend Phoenix and look forward to taking further advanced courses with them to ensure I remain safe and enhance my roadcraft. A massive thank you ☺️

Fantastic experience: Yep, a full 5 stars! I can wholeheartedly recommend Phoenix Fareham for their first-class motorcycle training. I received excellent tuition from guys at the top of their game - Martin use to be a police outrider and Mickey is the nicest bloke on two wheels you’ll ever meet - both passionate in sharing their skills and experience with the next generation of new riders. The thing is, I wasn’t just shown how to get through the tests, I was taught how to ride competently, confidently, and safely - thus preparing the necessary groundwork for my riding skills to develop with experience, ensuring years of safe and happy motorcycling. As a ‘later life’ trainee - learning to ride is something I’ve wanted to do for decades - I doubt I was the most natural student they’ve ever had but Martin’s and Mickey’s positive attitude and encouragement throughout got me through. A big thank you also to the Phoenix back-office booking team - their commitment and tenacity in finding training days and test appointments that fitted around my work and home commitments was hugely appreciated! Finally their location is a key factor in my five star rating. When originally looking for training, I homed-in on Phoenix because of their close proximity to the Lee-on-the-Solent driving test centre. Being able to perfect Mod1 exercises in the actual DVSA test arena, and develop an intimate knowledge of the roads around Lee-on-the-Solent and Gosport, would pay huge dividends come my Mod1 and Mod2 test days. A genuine bonus! Great stuff! Thanks again to everyone at Phoenix - we did it!

I have only high praise for Mickey and Martin, who are both extremely personable and knowledgeable, and left me feeling very well prepared and confident before my tests. Negative experience: Booked the training for my son (age 17) on a manual bike. On the day he was told (without any prior testing or review) he would be switched to an automatic. This now effects the bike he can ride/buy and means he has to do further training and tests!! Great way to generate more income for yourselves guys but I am really unhappy my son didn't get the training I booked and paid for.

I went from having no motorcycle riding experience (bar CBT that I did with another school a year prior) to passing my MOD1 and MOD2 first time. Special thanks to Mickey and Martin for coaching me through the whole thing. You can definitely see the high standard not only in teaching but in the motorcycles they offer and customer service. Fantastic experience: I am a mature lady learning to ride and your school was recommended to me by another lady rider. I cannot praise Martin and Mickey highly enough, they were extremely patient, informative and very calm at all times. They gave me the confidence to get through all the stages of the test and I am very happy to report that I now have my riders licence and am looking forward to spending time on the road with a bigger bike. Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend them enough, the instructor Micky was very patient and had no issue talking through my anxieties of the test and answering as many questions as I could throw at him. I passed both tests first time after 2 days training (one day per module) - My only comment would be to train for mod 1 in fareham, book it on a weekend! During the week I had no real facility to train with except an empty carpark that anybody could have used which would have caused issues to my training. On a weekend, they can train you in the Mod 1 test center.

Fantastic experience: Did the A license based in Fareham with DVLA test center at Lee on the solent. With Martin and Micky at various points for the module 1 and 2 on the giant Honda Africa twin. Both very professional and knowledgeable giving advice where needed and giving off calming vibes for the test days. I can't think of any faults apart from not being able to train in an area the same size as the test centre (or at the test centre) as the emergency stop and swerve have to be done at 50kmph and we couldn't really get enough speed up on our practice runs. So I picked up 1 minor fault in the module 1 for doing 49kmph on the swerve. I don't think any company has an area to practice on the correct size. So if you can, try to book your module 1 for a weekend and hopefully they will book the test centre so you can have a go on it rather than your first time being in test conditions. But it is still 10/10

Positive experience: Trainner’s Paul, Martin and Micky all great at their job, knew their stuff, very patient, credit to the Phoenix group, which I would happily give 5 stars. The training ground (Wickham) not really suitable for mod 1 training I did phone a voice my concerns just given text book answer which is a shame !! However passed first time on CBT, Mod1 and Mod 2 so thank again guys. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT in July 2018, and followed this up with training days and ride outs to the Module 1 and Module 2 full license tests in January/February 2019. I passed all three parts first time, and this was without doubt down to the quality and depth of the training that I received from the instructors at Phoenix. Phoenix Motorcycle Training were fantastic from booking to completion. The staff in the office were very helpful and accomodating when initially booking, and kept me up to date in good time if there were any changes (these changes were minimal - 30 minutes earlier start time). I was trained by Martin (CBT + Module 2), and Mickey (Module 1). With both it was obvious that they had huge amounts of experience and knowledge, and this immediately made me feel comfortable about the training. They both worked really hard to make the skills and techniques make sense in a way that we could all understand. I had the CBT and Module 1 training as a pair with one other student, but both Martin and Mickey were able to assess on the spot our levels and then differentiate the training to suit both of us, giving ample opportunity for each of us to work on the areas we needed to. The module 1 training was split between a warm up session at the school, some road riding, and then a big practice session actually at the test centre in Lee-On-Solent. This was a real big advantage, as we managed to practice both clockwise and anti-clockwise on the actual testing environment. The morning ride out on the Monday was really good and another opportunity to practice before the actual test. There was plenty of time to practice, and I went into the test feeling confident which was a great help. I passed this Module 1 first time which I think is testament to the great training from Mickey. The Module 2 training was out and about on the roads all day. We practiced all of the stops and starts that we needed to, had a few 30 minute rides, imitating the style of the test. These were all done on roads around the test centre, parts of which were featured on my actual test ride. The training day finished when Martin felt I was ready. It was a freezing cold day, and Martin asked if i wanted to try anything else out. I felt confident, so we made the decision to finish for the day. I think that this was really sensible because I felt ready at that point and any further riding would have had a detrimental effect. The ride out on the Monday morning was again really useful and got my mind focussed on the test. I passed this Module 2 first time, which again I feel is down to the great training from Martin. As a final thought, I feel really confident in the skills and techniques that I have learnt whilst training with Phoenix. I felt that the things I was taught and shown weren't just so that I could pass the tests, but more so that I will be a safe and confident motorcyclist after the test, when I'm on the road and when it really matters. I would recommend Phoenix, especially Martin and Mickey, to anyone looking for motorcycling training at any level. Top marks and thank you very much!

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT then Direct Access. Passed both parts first time. Outstanding quality of instruction from highly experienced motorcyclists. Great team to deal with in the office too.

Fantastic experience: All staff are always very friendly, helpful and imformative.

Negative experience: This is form a total new riders point of view I had high hopes for phoenix but felt very let down by the poor service I experienced, I was doing a full Access course starting with my CBT this was the first time I had ever been on a bike so take that as you will But I felt the training was very poor how it was put across and was told to do things I later found was the cause of some of the issues I was having IE set the gas to X amount of revs that makes you look down at the rev meter to pull away you end up stalling this is just bad training. After passing my cbt on the second attempt I was then told i had to do a 125 improver course at an extra £125 charge though I had all ready paid for my full course (just money grabbing) After this I would of had t wait 3 weeks for another lesson due to work and how they work there training (NO 4 or 5 day in a row courses few days here few days there). Whilst training I was told more than 3 times maybe biking just isn't for you !!! Way to inspire your pupils The 2 instructors both belittled another company on how they train Guess what I went with that other company, After doing the 125 improver and having to wait 3 weeks for the next days training and speaking with friends who had there bike licences ( they explained that what i was being told was NOT how to do it ) I booked up with that other company and did a 5 days course passed both mods first time there was none of the negativity like I had from phoenix (half the time felt like they just didn't want me there) The training was like night and day phoenix felt like a have a go Andy outfit in comparison . So much so its hard to put into print. But after the phoenix ordeal i was very nervous but that was gone within the first 10 minuets as the instructor was great . If your looking to get trained and have ridden before maybe there fine but if your a new rider I wouldn't recommend them at all. Never had a refund from my course I didn't finish I basically paid for a full course and basically got a CBT So to sum up if you want to have your confidence shot and told things like if that was on a bigger bike that would of been an accident ( great training ) then by all means go with Phoenix otherwise there are far far better courses out there at the end of the day its your money

Fantastic experience: Phoenix were chosen by me after careful research and as a result of a very confidence inspiring email and phone chat. My wife was a complete novice and so a contingency plan was also set up. The whole experience was very positive. Phil, the trainer, had a fantastic manner and really inspired confidence. He spent all the time that was needed, explained things very well, and made my wife and Pete, the othe pupil, feel very at ease. I viewed the initial training, and was very impressed. I've been riding 40 years now so feel knowledgeable enough to know the standatd of tuition was high. It was great to see the transition from a scared novice to a smiling novice as bit by bit it started to click. A few hours later I got the text to go and pick up my wife who had passed and was extremely pleased and now with a great understanding of what it's like riding on the road instead of pillion. Cbt is by no means a given and I am extremely proud of her gaining the pass and extremely chuffed with Phoenix for making it possible. I have no hesitation recommending Phoenix and, if my wife wishes to progress, I shall use them again. Top marks all round.
