Fantastic experience: I genuinely couldn’t recommend Lighthouse Driving school more! I’ve had quite a few instructors but none of them even compare to Sam Buck. I was quite nervous driving and he really helped me feel calm, comfortable and confident on the roads, I am so grateful to have had him as my instructor so thank you so so much I really really appreciate it!

At first I was very nervous but Mike made me feel very calm and relaxed and confident behind the wheel. You all have wonderful knowledge and confidence in all your students that start learning to drive with you, you all deserve a massive respect, round of applause and a huge thank you from all the learners that have passed. Fantastic experience: Andy was my driving instructor and I couldn't fault him in anyway. Very friendly, very patient. My driving improved alot more when I started my lessons with Andy then when I was learning from a different company and previous instructors so thankyou Andy. I 100% recommend Andy from lighthouse.

Fantastic experience: I always thought I added a review after I passed but I stupidly next posted it so better late then never! I started learning to drive with lighthouse about this time last year, I had a handful of lessons with Kieron who was brilliant but due to change in my availability I switched to instructors to James! Within 13 hours of lessons with James I went on to past my test first time. Absolutely amazing instructor, really supportive and even on things I thought I couldn’t do he always believed in me. I recommend lighthouse to everyone I hear asking for instructors in the area as they really are a brillaint driving school. Could not fault these guys at all. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with my instructor Sarah pepler , is made things make sense for me and help me understand everything, she makes you feel comfortable in your driving and will always make sure that you are happy and have a laugh with u to make your lesson goes amazingly. Lighthouse driving school is one of the best there is out there.

He managed put me at ease from our very first lesson and helped me work through my anxiety about being on the road. I wouldn't have been able to achieve my pass today without his help and support. Fantastic experience: I loved my experience with Lighthouse Driving School, my instructor was Sam and he was brilliant, i looked forward to every lesson and was so excited to learn, i felt so comfortable and Sam was always there to help and support me, he helped me feel confident in myself and that i could do it, and eventually i did it! even though i did it 3rd time, Sam helped me and actually managed to find my test and book it while i was working and unavailable to go on my phone, i appreciate it so much as i wouldn’t be passed right now if he wasn’t able to get that test for me, i also wouldn’t have passed with only 1 minor if it wasn’t for him!! Sam is a great teacher, so easy going, calm and very helpful, there was never an awkward moment which is what i stressed about the most before starting driving lessons haha, i would recommend him and light house to anyone i know as it really was a fun journey. Even though i failed 2 times, the journey was so worth it!

Fantastic experience: I tried for years to learn to drive, but It was only when I found Sam Buck at lighthouse driving school that I actually managed to pass my test. If you want to learn with someone who is patient, kind, and funny but also a first and foremost and incredible teacher Sam Buck at lighthouse is the man for you

He was very understanding and constructive after every lesson. Gave the best advice. DONT RUSH! Drilled that into my brain and on my second test attempt I passed. Fantastic experience: I've driven for 30 years and came from Canada to visit family and decided it was time to learn to drive on the wrong side of the road!!! Martyn was amazing and made me feel so comfortable while learning what the road signs, markings on the road and knowing the national speed limit meant. I felt confident and safe on the roads here. Fantastic experience: I would give more stars if possible! I drove with James for what seemed like a long while and just couldn’t get through that test. I switched to Auto and continued to drive with James and I cannot thank him enough he has given me so much confidence and made me see that driving isn’t and doesn’t have to be perfect! Due to personal reasons James couldn’t see me across the finish line which made my anxiety spike but Mike stepped up and told me just to take a minute and then carry on! Best advice ever! Fantastic experience: I have just passed my driving test due to Sam’s patience with me, I cant thank him enough, The feeling i got when i heard the you passed words i wish i could explain how everything felt but i understand it wont come across exactly like it felt but if i were to try word it it felt as if everything stopped blood circulation froze and i felt sick but as well as the start to a independent life it was one of the best times i have had, From Day one Sam was just a stranger to me and now i can confidently say he is a great man and i consider him a great friend. Fantastic experience: Started driving with Mike in January. I was an absolute nervous wreck which no confidence but Mike was so supportive of this. Each lesson the funnier the conversation the lower the nerves. 31 hours and I passed today with only 3 minors. Can’t thank you enough for your patience Mike, incredible instructor!

Fantastic experience: From the bottom of my heart I couldn’t appreciate Lighthouse driving more with an extra special mention to Brendan, the one who helped me achieve my FIRST TIME PASS, his passion for helping people was apparent from the very first few minutes into meeting him, I’ve on and off learned to drive over the course of my 30 years however with a two year old little one my motivation was more than ever. Brendan is the most supportive human you’ll ever get the pleasure of meeting, and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without him, he didn’t just teach me to pass my test he taught me to be safe and confident which was a big thing for me being a new driver with a toddler on board. If you’re looking for a driving instructor please look no further, and if Brendan can’t work around your availability then I just know James and Mike will get you sorted, they really are building something special with lighthouse and for the thousandth time thank you!

Fantastic experience: I left myself in a bit of a predicament of needing to pass within a week due to my theory test expiring. I spoke to Matt who took me out for an assessment session to see if I was genuine about my experience and just needing some ‘touch up’ lessons. Matt was amazing and was really proactive in helping me get my test date sorted and secured in Folkestone. He then passed me over to James who would be taking me on test day. James was outstanding, as a teacher myself I think James’ style and approach to teaching is honestly one of the best I’ve experienced. He took me out for two hours and just let me drive, when he saw something I needed to do better for test day he didn’t tell me, he asked me, what do you think you could of done there? This approach had me constantly self assessing myself and I took this into test day! James was also brilliant at explaining all the manoeuvres I may need to take and was happy for me to practice what I felt less confident in, stepping in with advice as and when it was needed. Test day morning he was so calm, reassuring and positive, I know as a fact this helped me take the test and pass first time! As a company I’ve never had a more positive learning experience in anything and I’m so grateful to Matt and James for taking a punt on me and I can’t take them highly enough! Thanks guys!

They are the most understanding people you will meet , they understand your anxieties around driving and never judge them they do the complete opposite they turn them weaknesses into strength. Fantastic experience: James was absolutely superb I cannot recommend him enough. He was so informative and had great communication with me, I felt like he understood how and what I needed to learn and adapted our lessons to suit that. I always felt safe and relaxed. Something I valued so much was he never taught me with the goal of a pass mark on my test, he wanted me to inevitably be able to drive safely and independently. I took my first test today and passed with 2 minors and I can’t say thank you enough to James for giving the tools to have this achievement.

Fantastic experience: James helped me get my full UK automatic driving license through an intensive course in as little as 4 weeks. Being new to Kent (I’m from New Zealand) I was a little nervous about the local roads but I cant recommend James highly enough, he was super supportive & put me at ease from Day 1.

Fantastic experience: I had such a good experience with Lighthouse Driving School and drove with Andy, I couldn’t recommend him enough! I’d already been learning to drive for a number of months but felt I had stopped improving and I was not performing the best on my mocks. Lighthouse contacted me promptly after reaching out with a difficult schedule to work lessons around and I was paired with Andy shortly after. Andy immediately puts you at ease and creates a safe, calm and fun environment to drive. He is incredibly patient, adapts to your learning style and doesn’t ridicule you for mistakes but helps you improve from them, even when you feel like everything is going wrong! He was reliable, always able to adapt to my schedule and willing to fit in extra lessons on the lead up to my exam. I was so nervous on exam day but passed on my first attempt by putting everything I had learnt into practise. Thank you so much Andy and to everyone at Lighthouse!

Fantastic experience: Well what can I say about light house driving school, they are amazing hot let down by one instructor 2 weeks before I had my test and as you can imagine panic started to kick in . Within 15 mins of contacting light house driving school I was contacted by Andy who was happy to take me on. With 5 hours into training I had my first test and affaird to say I failed however that wasn’t down to Andy. Andy stuck by me coached me for another block of hours and after grafting and listen to feedback from Andy I knew it was only down to me to go and smash the test m Pleased to say I passed this month and o couldn’t thank light house or Andy enough Highly recommend LightHouse Driving school

Fantastic experience: Our daughter, Kseniya, had lessons with Andy. She was very happy with the way he taught and, generally, comfortable during the whole learning process. She passed both her theory and practical exams from the first attempt. We think that she is a safe and confident young driver. Highly recommend the Instructor and the school, as everything was very clear and easy from start to finish.

Fantastic experience: I trained with James and he was honestly the best. Having started lessons at 17 and given up because I was terrified of driving, James was so kind and calm, and helped me get back into driving. Passing my test has given me so much freedom, and I am so thankful for James and the team at Lighthouse. Highly recommend.

He was reliable, always made me feel safe and comfortable, he always adapted his approach based on the way I learnt and was patient with me. Fantastic experience: As full license holder who's not been behind the wheel in 20 years I was pretty apprehensive about starting again. I had an initial 3 hours with James and my confidence came back straight away. He was really reassuring and helped me with the fundamentals in particular with driving safely rather than driving to pass a test. Despite booking 5 hours in advance James offered to give me a refund after 3 as he didnt think I needed any further lessons. I was more than happy to have the remaining 2 hours to get my confidence up and get a bit more experience with James in the car. Great experience all round!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test with Lighthouse School! And then wanted to do some extra lessons on motorways. Kayleigh did a mini intensive course for me specifically and was absolutely brilliant at building my confidence and giving me loads of helpful tips, advice and training for motorway driving. So I am now feeling 100% more confident than I did before. Thank you Kayleigh!! Highly recommended school and instructor!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test years ago, but have had a couple of lessons with James over the past couple of years to increase my confidence. James has done just that, and I feel I can tackle some of my biggest driving 'fears' (hello, motorways!) with more confidence and safety. What I really love is that James didn't try to exploit my lack of confidence and suggest multiple lessons (even though I had expected I would need multiple...). He very quickly helps you realise your own abilities, so on both occasions, it has come as a nice surprise when only one lessons was needed to help me boss my psychological hurdles! Fantastic experience: My Son passed his driving test today-1st time! He learnt to drive with the lovely Pete who helped me so much when I wanted to book my Sons lessons for his 17th Birthday. Harry started to learn to drive on the 31st July so it took him less than 3 months to pass, he smashed but wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t have Pete. Harry ls going to miss not seeing Pete regularly. We have already told Pete he needs to stick around ready for our next Son to do his driving. We cannot recommend Pete enough to anyone wanting to learn to drive he’s been amazing! Xx

I couldn’t recommend James or lighthouse driving school enough, James taught wonderfully, he’s super friendly and clearly very good at what he does, his lessons are super relaxed and comfortable and he always made me feel confident and calm, I always looked forward to our lessons together and I’m sad that’s over now but absolutely thrilled I passed and thanks to James am able to drive safely and confidently. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school. My personal journey with learning to drive has been a complicated one. I have struggled massively with anxiety, and found myself starting/stopping lessons over the course of 12 years. When I booked up with Lighthouse, I still felt absolutely terrified and seriously doubted my ability to drive, but necessity had forced me to begin lessons again. I learned with James, who is a breath of fresh air. Calm, supportive and adapts his teaching to your specific way of learning. James always had a great playlist of tunes ready to go too, which is a massive bonus. When James told me I was ready to do my test, I really didnt believe him but I passed first time! I'm still in disbelief, but so so proud of myself. James could easily have agreed with me that I needed more lessons, I would have happily given him my money, but he had the integrity not to take advantage of my nerves. Fairly priced, reliable and good communication. Thank you Lighthouse, I will be recommending you to everyone!
