Fantastic experience: If you want to learn to drive and not just how to scrape by in your test, then this is the place to do so. In my lessons I thought a lot of mistakes were being pointed out but I am glad every little mistake was mentioned. Since when I went into my test I knew how to avoid them, I’m very grateful for all the help I got to pass my test.

Graham really believed in me & filled me with so much confidence & put me at ease from my very first lesson. Everything was explained to me fully & with so much patience. Fantastic experience: Great Driving instructor, knows the area and examiners perfectly, and will ensure you know how to approach every roundabout for every direction. He is firm but fair and will tell you exactly what you did wrong as it happens - explaining clearly how to do it next time. No lesson time is ever wasted. Definitely recommend.

He explains things thoroughly and in a way that helps you remember key information. He pushed me always to do the very best I could, which filled me with confidence. Graham is superbly trustworthy and always arrives on time for lessons and doesn’t muck you about with bookings at all. Every lesson he would provide targeted advice regarding the driving errors I would make. He is very progress driven and each lesson he builds on the previous lesson and introduces new things.He has the patience of a saint! Could not recommend Graham enough!

I have had a number of driving Instructors in the past and not once have I felt confident enough to drive with my sister in the car and also with my children! He was honest and told me when I needed to focus but also there for a laugh and I think that’s how a instructor should be! Fantastic experience: Was feeling very nervous to start with, Graham helped gain my confidence , professional, understanding and made learning to drive fun rather than a chore

Negative experience: Was learning to drive with this company and ended things due to feeling uncomfortable. The instructor would go on his phone whilst I was in control of the car, talk to his wife on speaker phone about what they would do at the weekend and what they would be having for tea. Didn’t receive good advice from him, felt like he was just in it for the money. Wouldn’t recommend this service if you actually want to learn to drive. I know more about his personal life than I do about driving

Fantastic experience: Excellent, and highly recommended , a 1st time pass yesterday for my son due to Graham’s tuition. Many thanks Graham, (he’s driven 115 miles today, then came home loaded up the car with his tent and disappeared again!) Oh to be young again eh….

Fantastic experience: Great instructor. Really helpful with my confidence and we got along well. Definitely had a good level of freedom, didn't yank my controls for the smallest mistake like previous instructors I had been with. Lessons were well planned and notifications being sent the night before were very useful. Also had some interesting routes (e.g. Horseshoe Pass) rather than just teaching to the test like others.

He is quick to address issues and offers continual re-enforcement of good practices. I have found that he uses music to good affect as well. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic experience: After passing my test a few years ago I booked two refresher lessons with GEARS. Graham was brilliant - the lessons were non-stop driving (unlike so many lessons with teachers I've had the the past), pitched at the perfect level, and fun. Graham really helped me to get my confidence back, and I'd definitely recommend him as an instructor.

Negative experience: Graham has been teaching me to drive since August and after a number of lessons he agreed to me booking a test date, which I did and conferred with him a suitable date. A week before my test following my lesson Graham refused to take me for my test telling me I had bad habits and that he didn't think I was ready. I was hoping to pass as I was going to local university, although I may not of passed, it would of been a great help to me going to university and now I have to rely on my parents to take me and pick me up. On a previous lesson I was asked to parallel park where I noticed children behind the parked car, so was unable to reverse. He prompted me again to reverse and when I told him the reason I couldn't he became annoyed and told me to drive on. Booking lessons was problematic and pick up places and lesson times were changed on various occasions to suit him. My experiences with GEARS Driving School has been very disappointing and is very poor business practice when he is in the business of teaching people to drive. One to avoid!
