Fantastic experience: Have been working with Gaz for right around 2 months now and have seem major improvements. If all goes well I hope to be able to have my license before the end of the new year. 10/10 would recommend if in need to driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been learning to drive with Gaz for a few weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! From the first lesson, he made me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. He explains everything clearly and is very patient, even when I make mistakes. What I truly appreciate is how he tailors each lesson to my progress—whether it’s mastering tricky manoeuvres or building confidence on busy roads, he always gives helpful tips and encouragement. I’ve already seen a lot of improvement in my driving skills. I highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive and pass their exam with confidence- Gaz is fantastic!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with Gaz as my driving instructor. Initially, he came across as a nice, kind, and funny person, which made me hopeful about learning to drive with him. However, over time, I began to notice several unprofessional behaviours that made the lessons extremely uncomfortable and stressful for me. First, he would often spend a significant portion of the lesson talking about his personal life, particularly his dating life, which I never asked about. While I don’t mind small talk, this was excessive and often took up time meant for driving practice. More concerning was his tendency to shout at me when I made mistakes during lessons. While I understand the need for correction, especially in potentially dangerous situations, Gaz’s approach caused me a lot of stress and even brain fog, which made it harder for me to focus on improving my driving. This is something I’ve not experienced with my new instructor, who is far more patient and constructive in their feedback. Since switching instructors, my driving skills have improved dramatically in a short amount of time. The most traumatic experience came during my final lesson with Gaz. After he criticised a manoeuvre I did, I politely challenged his assessment and said I thought it was okay. In response, he abruptly announced that he was going to quit—while I was still driving! This shocked me and created a tense and unsafe atmosphere in the car. His actions almost caused us to crash into another vehicle. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend him as an instructor. I’m relieved to be working with someone else now, and I hope my review helps others make an informed decision. Lastly, I noticed that Gaz tends to respond very personally to negative reviews. I encourage anyone reading this to look at other one-star reviews and judge for themselves. I am simply sharing my honest experience here in the hope that he can reflect on his behaviour and improve. I also plan to report his conduct to the DVSA, as I believe his unprofessionalism needs to be addressed. Fantastic experience: Gaz is a friendly, patient and knowledgeable driving instructor. I previously failed a test and had reduced confidence. Gaz has really helped me identify areas of improvement and helped build up my confidence again. Through his training program I was able to pass with only 3 minors! I’m over the moon. I would recommend him as an instructor to anyone who doubts themselves! Thanks so much Gaz!
