Our comment from DrivingSchoolsTOP.co.uk about 1st Motorcycle Training:
Exceptional Instructors and High Pass Rates
1st Motorcycle Training has established a strong reputation for delivering top-tier motorcycle education, driven primarily by the outstanding performance of its instructors, Simon and Ian. The overwhelming consensus from students is that the teaching quality is exceptional, with many learners praising the instructors for their deep knowledge, patience, and ability to tailor lessons to individual needs. This personalized approach has resulted in a remarkably high number of students passing both their CBT and Direct Access Scheme (DAS) modules on the first attempt, a testament to the effectiveness of their training methods.
Comprehensive Training for All Levels
The school offers a complete pathway for riders, from absolute beginners to those upgrading their licenses. The curriculum covers:
- Compulsory Basic Training (CBT): Ideal for new riders, focusing on safety, basic controls, and confidence building in a controlled environment before moving to public roads.
- Direct Access Scheme (DAS): An intensive course designed to take students from novice to full motorcycle license holders, covering both Module 1 (off-road maneuvers) and Module 2 (on-road test preparation).
- CBT Refreshers: For riders who need to renew their certificate or regain confidence after a break, these sessions are highly rated for their informative and supportive nature.
- License Upgrades: Specialized training for upgrading from A1 to A2 or A categories, ensuring riders are fully prepared for the increased power and responsibilities.
Focus on Safety and Long-Term Skills
What truly sets 1st Motorcycle Training apart is its commitment to producing safe, competent riders rather than just test-passers. Instructors are frequently commended for emphasizing defensive riding techniques, hazard awareness, and proper bike handling. Students report that the training goes beyond the minimum requirements, instilling habits and skills that last a lifetime. The instructors' relaxed yet professional demeanor helps alleviate nerves, making the learning process enjoyable and stress-free, even for those with no prior experience.
Quality Equipment and Facilities
The school prides itself on providing well-maintained, modern motorcycles, including Suzuki SV650s and Honda CB650Fs, which are ideal for training purposes. The equipment provided, including helmets and protective gear, is of high quality and up-to-date. The training locations are carefully selected to offer a safe environment for practicing slow-speed maneuvers and urban riding, ensuring students are well-prepared for the real-world challenges of the test.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT a little over a year ago and found that course to be amazing with Ian teaching, I have now just completed my DAS training with Simon who gave me the confidence to get my full license, as a female biker with little experience I have now gained so much exposure, knowledge and skills into the motorcycle world and learned a great deal that prepared me for both tests and the real world . THANKS GUYS
Hi Bernice, well done on completing your full bike tests. You were marvellous throughout and a perfect candidate. May we both wish you all the very best in your biking future and poo by when you get your new wheels.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for the CBT course today. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.
Thanks Anna, Ian said you were a star.
Fantastic experience: Great experience, would recommend to people looking to learn.
Well done mate, good day.
Fantastic experience: Amazing instructor ian allowed me to pass my cbt will 100% use again for set up
Brilliant, great to know you enjoyed your day.
Fantastic experience: Very happy with the entire experience! Ian was fantastic. There was one other person in the course, and Ian made sure to cater to our different skill levels. While the other participant needed more time to master vehicle control, Ian recognized that I was ready for the roads and adjusted the training accordingly. I managed to pass in just one day, but keep in mind that passing the CBT isn’t guaranteed. If you’re opting for the 125cc manual, I’d recommend having some experience with a manual car—otherwise, you might find yourself spending extra time getting used to the gears on the bike.
Well Done Tim, good day!
