Fantastic experience: Dave was my instructor for a couple of weeks, and he was fantastic. I would recommend Dave to anyone in a heartbeat. He was friendly and made me feel relaxed. His teaching style was brilliant and I felt like I was actually learning from him, whereas I’ve had instructors before who I felt like I was just driving and not really picking up what I needed. Really thankful for being put under Dave’s guidance because I honestly don’t think I’d have passed without him. I passed on my first attempt with Dave with only 3 minors. Fantastic experience: I had Pari, and when I say she is the best instructor I’ve ever had, I mean it! When I was looking for instructors about 3-4 months back, I didn’t feel like any of them were really helping me until I came across Pari. She has incredibly helpful and memorable methods to handle each aspect there is to driving which just stick to your brain like glue, and she’s very calm and makes you feel comfortable when driving. I passed first time with 5 minors, and it’s all thanks to her. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test with Pari who works for MonoDrive, Pari was an excellent teacher who was patient and understanding and helped me build my confidence on the road which I really appreciate her for. I passed with no minors thanks to Pari, she would constantly help me improve by giving me different ways to understand points I was struggling with. She is a very genuine instructor and doesn’t make you feel bad or shout at you for making mistakes which my previous instructors would, instead she explains you through them and what you can do to improve which would have me leaving my lessons feeling satisfied and happy rather than upset over a mistake i’d made. I would highly recommend learning with Pari she’s a brilliant driving instructor and a very kind person. :)

Fantastic experience: If you’re thinking of taking lessons with Monodrive, do not think twice. I passed first time with Pari and honestly after two previous fails with a pretty bad instructor; not associated with Monodrive - I passed! Pari was incredible, she worked with me in fixing little faults I had never noticed were a problem. She was calm and explained thoroughly how to improve - rather than spoon feed information. What I learnt in a few hours with Pari by far was much more helpful than the previous 40 hours with my old instructor. When I’d passed, she shared the same excitement as me on the day and let me drive home too haha! I would highly recommend Monodrive and Pari to anyone - both my sisters will now be taking lessons with them! Thank you.

Negative experience: I started at start of September. They assigned me to pari. I had told pari from the start i have my driving test on the 4th October. On our first lesson she assessed my driving and told me she was happy to take me for my test. After a couple of lessons with her she cancelled my lesson 15 mins before. Which she then managed to find me availability a couple days later. However i got a job so i could afford lessons and told pari i couldn’t do a lesson on Saturday as i had work. She told me her Available days are Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays . So i told her can i do wed or Sunday as im available she then said for me to find a new instructor that best fits my needs and then said goodluck and said this in a rude manner. This a shame really as 2 weeks before my test she has stopped my lessons all because i could not do a lesson which is a shame. Ive had to cancel my test. She wanted me to do 4 hours a week she was just after making quick money out of me.Poor customer service, rudeness from the instructor and no understanding.

Fantastic experience: After years of bad experiences with driving instructors, and my confidence being knocked massively, I really can't thank Paul enough for all of his support, patience and expertise that has resulted in me today passing my driving test! I would recommend Paul a hundred times over, and can honestly say he has helped to change my life for the better. Can't thank you enough Paul!

Negative experience: Shockingly POOR service! I just called to enquire about booking some lessons working towards a test date in a month. Baring in mind I’ve had over 35hours of lessons and am driving independently I wanted an instructor local to the area as my test is at Shirley test centre and I’d need a few lessons to get set (pretty straight forward you’d imagine). The guy who I spoke to said my test date is in a month (again - I’m test ready but my current instructor had a family bereavement and I didn’t want to lose any practice time) he very abruptly made it clear he wasn’t willing to take me on because I’m not “one of his students” (??). When I pointed out that doesn’t make sense and fail to understand the reasoning he very rudely said; “we get these calls all the time” (You're a driving instructor so I’d imagine so!) before saying “it’s my company mate - cya” and hanging up. To say that was beyond unprofessional but incredibly rude on a basic human level is an understatement. I’ve never left a review about a company but was so shocked I felt compelled to convey my experience. His reasoning made no sense what so ever and his tact was severely lacking. If you’re looking for a cocky arrogant and rude man who seemingly has an overinflated sense of self - this is your guy! UPDATE to the response: The “all of this” is an accurate reflection of my experience with you (I’m assuming Dave) and not me having a strop because I “didn’t get my way” - I’m an adult. Again; your reasoning makes no sense and I don’t understand what’s “laughable” about contacting a driving school to book some driving lessons! The whole purpose of me calling was to meet an instructor, at which point a conversation could have been had. I’d understand if I called and said I’ve a test date in 4 weeks, my instructors dropped me, I have taken little/no lessons and expected you to have me test ready by then, but - that’s not the case. My instructor has had a family bereavement (I can’t help that) and is still able to commit to my test date if I need but understandably needs a bit of time to process. I’m conscious that every week counts leading up to my test and i wanted to be proactive in not loosing any of the learning/momentum I’ve worked hard to build up. Particularly as learning to drive has been the first independent thing I’ve done since completing my recent treatment for a brain tumour - it means a lot to me to (hopefully ) pass. I simply wanted to get some mocks booked in - that’s all. There’s nothing “laughable” or unreasonable about that. You’re response only further demonstrates the tact/unprofessionalism I encountered (not to mention your very poor grammar). I’ll take back/edit out the “one man band” comment which is fair enough. You’re behaviour and reasoning though - still stands. I hope you’re proud yourself. I don’t get the “old man” reference but feel free to call yourself whatever you like - you can call me Khy

Just passed 1st time in Shirley; had Dave as my instructor for manual lessons. She was very helpful in teaching me how to use the roads safely and ultimately helped me pass my driving test. Despite disruptions due to Covid and going to university, Paul would always work around my schedule to try and fit me in for lessons, and when I got my own car Paul was more than happy to take me out in it and build my confidence up to ensure a pass. His rates are very competitive given his expertise and experience, and I will genuinely miss our lessons as I have grown to really enjoy driving. Fantastic experience: I Recently passed my test thanks to Monodrive. My instructor was Dave who was extremely patient when I first was learning to drive and helped me lots in preparing for my test. Monodrive also allowed me to book extra lessons in the week leading up to my test to ensure I was ready and knew what to expect, which was very helpful for me.

Fantastic experience: After numerous driving instructors over the last 2 years I finally found one that I felt comfortable with and felt confident to book my test, and managed to pass first time! Fantastic experience: After plenty of recommendations from previous customers of paul’s, it was a without question that I contacted Paul for lessons when I was ready to learn how to drive. Paul is an excellent teacher, he worked around my work schedule, the lessons were extremely well thought out without a minute going to waste and he was constantly checking in with me in regards to how my driving was going with my parents etc to make sure that I was concentrating on the right things. When my test came closer Paul new exactly what to practice and how to calm any nerves or doubts I may have had and because of him I passed first time with 0 faults! It is clear to see that he puts time and effort into his lessons and listens to feedback from previous students carefully so that he can prepare his students in regards to routes from various test centres and what the examiners are looking for. I couldn’t fault Paul in any way shape or form and his prices are extremely competitive and a bargain compared to his level of skill and experience. Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting instructor, Paul. Had my daughter in tears! Constantly cancelling lessons, always on his phone during lessons, shouting and abusive on lessons and then he dropped her 3 weeks before her test saying if she failed he doesn’t want her on his record!! Very abusive on the phone and extremely unprofessional. Avoid this joke of an instructor at all costs! Doesn’t deserve 1 star!
