Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT a little over a year ago and found that course to be amazing with Ian teaching, I have now just completed my DAS training with Simon who gave me the confidence to get my full license, as a female biker with little experience I have now gained so much exposure, knowledge and skills into the motorcycle world and learned a great deal that prepared me for both tests and the real world . THANKS GUYS

Fantastic experience: Very happy with the entire experience! Ian was fantastic. There was one other person in the course, and Ian made sure to cater to our different skill levels. While the other participant needed more time to master vehicle control, Ian recognized that I was ready for the roads and adjusted the training accordingly. I managed to pass in just one day, but keep in mind that passing the CBT isn’t guaranteed. If you’re opting for the 125cc manual, I’d recommend having some experience with a manual car—otherwise, you might find yourself spending extra time getting used to the gears on the bike.

Fantastic experience: 18 years ago, I completed my first CBT with Simon in King's Heath, which was excellent. After about three years of asking myself, "Am I too old for this?". I decided to get back on the horse (bike ). Ian was also a great teacher, very knowledgeable, and sharing. Always encouraging. He even mentioned a few things that related to the full licence. I have now completed my Cbt and motorcycle theory. Looking forward to having a crack at full licence when they can fit me in. At 62 I reckon I may be their oldest (and happiest) customer. I very highly recommend these guys. Woohoo! Chapter 2 Today is Monday 17/11/2024 I passed Mod 1 last Friday. Massive thanks to Simon. The training was excellent and fun. I am now looking forward to Mod 2. I'm particularly impressed with Simon's teaching style and the high focus on safety. I also enjoyed unlearning (is that a word?) some old bad habits. I have been cussing at myself so much when I've made errors (many). My poor innocent helmet is gonna need disinfecting/blessing by the time I'm done These guys know their onions (and bikes ). I recommend them without hesitation. Richard. Chapter 3 to follow --------------------- Chapter 3 Yippee! The training centre had me booked in for Mod 2 last week. Snow forced cancellation. Taken and passed (1st time) today. Hopefully, the swearing inside helmet will ease down. Motorcycling is actually so enjoyable to me. When I've finally chosen and bought my next bike (my first big bike), the hope is to take a motorway session with the training school. My main weaknesses in training were shoulder checks and lifesavers. Finally, it became routine. There is, however, an unexpected side effect. I took my granddaughters for a walk in Birmingham on Sunday. Every time we were about to walk in a different direction, I was automatically doing shoulder checks and lifesavers Once again, Big Thanks to Simon and the crew. These guys can quickly spot where each learner needs to improve, plus deliver clear instructions. Top class guys I'm hoping my next chapter will be just as much fun. Happy safe biking to all. Richard -------------------- Chapter 4 Today is Wednesday 11/12/2024 Woohoo! My original plan to buy my first big bike in the new year did not hold out . The temptation was too great. I now have a beautiful BMW F800GT, which is set up for touring (she hasn't yet got a name ). We go out every time I get a chance. I'm enjoying putting my training into practice regularly. My next target is to do a motorway session with Simon. Sorry to those that don't like extra long reviews. I thought these guys were so good that they deserve the praise. Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT at 1st Motorcycle Training, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ian, my instructor, was exceptional throughout the day. His extensive knowledge and clear explanations made everything easy to understand, especially for someone like me who was feeling quite nervous at first. Ian’s patience stood out, he took the time to ensure everyone was comfortable with each stage before moving on. He provided constant support and reassurance, which really helped calm my nerves and boosted my confidence. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Nothing but good can be said honestly, respectful trainers and honestly he was so understanding with the instructions. I have ADHD and he honestly explained it so well.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointment with the motorcycle training, experienced misogyny and instructor bias. The instructor, Ian, displayed a condescending attitude from the start towards a young petite female whilst male counterpart got different treatment, persistent on that I use an automatic motorcycle, indicating a lack of faith in my abilities. The training was abruptly cut short after a couple of hours and was told it was because I took a turn too wide. I am still left completely baffled by it and the response from the company had been highly unsatisfactory since contacting them after the fact. It felt like Ian was prioritising rescheduling the lesson for an additional £80 rather than providing proper instruction on the day. Highly dispointed, left me feeling belittled and disrespected. I understand that the company will rebuke this review and of course deny any of it. However, to reiterate my concerns. My card provider issued a full refund after investigating the situation. So any rebuttal to this review would be unfounded.

Fantastic experience: Passed my CBT course having never touched a motorbike before. Ian is an excellent instructor with an outstanding level of patience. Now I've got the confidence to go out by myself and prepare for the full licence

Fantastic experience: Me and my wife booked our CBT is at this school Ian the trainer was absolutely excellent. My wife has never ever been on a motorcycle before and Ian gave her extra time on the motorcycle and really built up per confidence on it. She successfully passed her CBT and now moving on to the DAS course I highly recommend Using these trainers and recommend women to use them as well. They really are a professional a lot..

Fantastic experience: Attended today and passed my CBT. Ian and Simon were very patient and honest in their feedback to all students, ensuring that each person was in a position to take then next step as the course went on. Really enjoyed the day and don’t let anyone tell you CBT is an attendance course. You need to listen and work hard to ensure you’re safe on the course before going on to the road. Fantastic experience: Did the CBT - had a very positive experience. Requested the 125cc bike with gears as had previously only been on an automatic scooter. The instructors took me through using the gears and patiently enabled me to become confident on the road. Professional set up - would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was sceptical going into the course. I thought just turn up and get my CBT. "Yeah yeah, that makes sense." Actually the instructors guided me slowly but assertively through progressive exercises, building up skills, systems and confidence and challenged me on my understanding and brought up mistakes in a professional, relaxed manner. I genuinely feel confident to continue my training on the road with their principles instilled in mind. I don't think they could be more effective in a day's time. Thanks guys. Highly recommend.

The facilities where very good and my trainer for the day was Ian whose positive instructions and knowledge where spot on ,i learned a lot and gained a lot of confidence from his instruction. in a nutshell if you want to learn to ride a motorcycle properly and safely and get value for money this is the place for your training .

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed the motorcycle training program. As someone who with limited experience with motorcycles, I was a bit nervous when I signed up for the course, but Simon quickly put me at ease. I had the chance to attend the 3 days program and we covered both MOD 1 and MOD 2. Simon's training for MOD 1 was very thorough and focused on the essential skills needed to pass the test. He helped us practice each manoeuvre required for the test. RE: MOD 2 - He provided us with detailed guidance on how to navigate different road conditions and traffic situations, and helped us practice essential skills like observation, signalling, and positioning. Simon's patient and supportive approach helped me feel confident and relaxed during the test, and I passed with flying colours thanks to his excellent training. Overall, the entire program including initial assessment was outstanding. His emphasis on safety, attention to detail, proper technique and personalized feedback helped me become a confident and competent motorcycle rider. Fantastic experience: Absolutely cannot recommend them enough. Did my CBT back in December when it was cold and chucking down. Ian was very good, made sure I was comfortable with all the manoeuvres before going out on the road. Did my DAS with Simon in May. Could not have asked for a better teacher, he knew exactly how to teach me and give me confidence without adding stress or making me nervous. I was able to pass both Mod 1 and 2 first time because of him, and now an enjoying life on 2 wheels! if you want to learn to ride, there's no place better than here.

Fantastic experience: 1st Motorcycle training school is excellent. I did my DAS course with them. Simon is very professional. Right from the outset he responds to calls and messages in a timely manner. His approach to teaching prioritises rider safety and getting you through the exams. He takes the time to ensure you are ready for the exam before signing up for it and on the day of the exams he spends two hours before hand practicing with you. The bikes are brand new SV650s and the safety gear is good quality. Overall the course was fun and I felt good value for money considering the time and effort he put into teaching me. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Simon and 1st Motorcycle training to anyone who is wanting to learn how to ride.

Fantastic experience: Completed a three day DAS course with Si. Fantastic standard of tuition throughout; the direction was clear and advice was tailored to suit. He contextualised the learning and the standard of coaching was well above par. The motorcycles and equipment available were near new, clean and well maintained. His stellar instruction lead to first time passes on both modules. I would certainly recommend the course to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Passed my CBT with Ian back in June, and was very pleased with the day, and obviously the outcome! Ian was, and is, a great instructor. He is very knowledgeable and clear on how to push you to be successful when doing your CBT, and I imagine would be the same when going for your full licence. Fantastic experience: Just took the CBT course recently. Had a great day, having done CBT previously, I have to say the instructor on the day, Ian, had the perfect balance of the seriousness of what the day is about whilst also bringing in the comradeship and enjoyment of the biking world. Very experienced and knowledgeable, safe. Competitively priced with good machines to learn on, in a decent area to practice slow manoeuvres on, and urban driving in the afternoon. Highly recommend them having been to two other schools around Birmingham previously, the standard of training and effectiveness of teaching here is very high

Fantastic experience: I had my CBT training here two days ago and I'm still happy about it today! Even before I booked my Training with them I got friendly and kind response over WhatsApp on what I need to have and apply for. The training itself was very informative and beneficial without being boring or too much. Our instructor Ian was very kind, empathetic and professional. I felt safe during all the training and looked after very well. So happy to have my certificate now I would definitely recommend anyone else that place. Fantastic experience: I Did my compulsory basic training for the first here. Ian is an excellent instructor, I struggled a little in the beginning but he talked me through it until I got the confidence to go on the road. He’s professional, easy going, humorous and very patient. Communication was clear and precise with excellent feedback. It was raining throughout the day however I felt confident in my abilities and safe to ride after the training. Excellent teacher, would recommend 100% and I’m definitely coming back

Fantastic experience: Excellent motorcycle training centre. I dod my CBT back in August with Ian intrsucting the course. Was a great instructor and very informative. I then went onto complete a DAS course instructed by simon, and gain an excellent instructor, very informastive and patient. Very knowledgable and although i was nervous at first, his patience and intruction made me a better rider as the course went on, and even made extra effort to make sure i passed my course, which i did. All in all, in my opinion if you want to pass either CBT or DAS, this is definitely the place to go to. I couldnt recommend them highly enough, and if i require any extra tuition i wouldn't hesitate to come back. The best riding school locally wihtout a doubt in my mind. A big thums up all round.

Fantastic experience: Best part of 30 years since last on a motorbike, Yamaha 80. CBT with 1st Motorcycle Training in August 2021, bought a 125cc to get some practice in. Signed up for DAS course with Simon - 5 full days of training, 6am starts! Passed Mod 1 last week and Mod 2 yesterday. Now got a full licence. Fantastic experience: Today was an amazing day. Today I took my CBT test and everything went Perfect, Definitely the best place to take the CTB and any course, incredible instructor Ian, an excellent person, Cheerful, patient in teaching in detail, everything that Instructor Ian taught us today was extraordinary, the training in and on the street was perfect, many many thanks I had a lot of fun, it was very easy and everything was smooth, excellent communication and instruction in every detail. Fantastic experience: Had a really good experience with Simon on my three day DAS - Covered everything in great detail and made sure I was well equipped with vital knowledge/techniques that helped me pass my MOD 1 & MOD2. Really nice guy who has a wealth of experience and makes the whole process really enjoyable. The bike I was on was the Honda CB650F which was perfect for learner riders who are progressing with their DAS, but Simon did mention he was getting some new Suzuki SV650s in so even better for anyone looking to do their DAS with 1st! Thanks once again Simon and hopefully see you in the new year on my bike when the weather gets a bit warmer! Mo

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT and DAS course with 1st. I went from never having ridden a bike on the road before, to having my full license in 4 weeks. Instruction was calm, easy going but really informative, couldn't recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend these guys enough. Did my CBT with Ian in July (Ian was excellent, very experienced and a very nice guy) then a four day direct access course with Simon this month, finishing with passes for mod 1 and mod 2 tests and an A category license - for both me and the other chap that attended that week. Simon’s experience and knowledge are vast and the course was expertly managed from start to finish. The other learner and I had different strengths and weaknesses and Simon tailored his training to suit us individually, for both of us to reach our goal. The course was challenging and fun and, in addition to getting us both successfully though the tests, there was also training to prepare us for getting out there on our own afterwards. A well deserved five stars from me. Thanks again, to both of you

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Made sure we were properly prepared to go out on the road as well as helped me get rid of my nerves within minutes of riding. A great day spent, couldn’t recommend these guys enough.
