Negative experience: I don’t recommend ART Rider. The instructor was so rude and made the whole experience stressful and unpleasant. I switched to A1 Bike Training Centre in Canvey, and it was a complete turnaround! The instructors there were friendly, supportive, and professional. Thanks to them, I passed my CBT with confidence. I 1000% recommend A1 Bike Training Centre!

Fantastic experience: First time ever on a motor bike, never riden one before. Met Mark and Rob on my first session, both very friendly and professional. Went to the pad with Mark he is absolutley lovely, friendly to the point could have a joke around, did not make it on the road the first time. Came back a week later with Mark again, slipped twice with the bike, but got back on I did not feel ready to go out on the road. Came back the week after this time with Rob absolutley lovely guy, explained things in detail took the time to show me more, then took me out on the road, scary as anything, but we made a couple pit stops and I finally did it. Would defjnatley recommend these guys, your safety& confidence is more important, they do not sugar coat anything either

Fantastic experience: I walked in for my CBT a few months ago, having never sat on a motorcycle. A few months later, I’ve now passed with a full A license, thanks to all the team at ART. The admin team really did their best to make the lessons and tests fit around my schedule! Nothing was too much trouble, even when I needed to change at the last minute! The instructors are second to none! They adapted the sessions to whatever I needed to work on while ensuring I continued to build my confidence and safety. Thank you to everyone at ART. As a Trike rider with a disability Rich and the gang were so accommodating I did have a mechanical fault on my first attempt which meant I didn't pass however Art supported me on getting my second attempt. I Had Rob as my instructor throughout the whole process and I wish I could give him his own 5* review because not only was this his first trike student but he is so professional and encouraging and just all round helpful. I have done all my classes with them, taking me from 0 to 100% obtaining my Full A License Unrestricted Manual (CBT + MOD 1 and 2 ). Fantastic experience: I did my cbt here at ART and it was a blast, Fun and exhilirating. My instructor was Rhi and i was on a manual 125 bike. I was riding motorcycles in the Philippines since i was 8 and the highest cc I owned was 135cc. She actually let me ride a suzuki sv 650cc for a while for me to try because maybe she saw that I can. I NEVER RIDDEN HIGHER THAN 150CC EVER. To be honest i was supposed to be doing cbt only it lead to Direct Access Training after that 650cc ride. Highly trusted and recommended. I suggest buy your own gear before hand at ART riding gear shop so that you have the perfect fit because they do provide the riding gear as well as a student rider but i found it hard for me due to my size getting the right fit. I passed my full A license with them.

Fantastic experience: I am a novice rider with very little experience and I credit Rob and his team at ART with giving the confidence to be competent to start my biking journey. I did my CBT with them and they are great guys. I moved on to my Mod 1 and Mod 2 and passed my direct access test all with 6mths. I had proper guidance all the way and i would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn with a group of passionate instructors.

I’ve come back to biking after 40+ years, absolutely love it but wanted someone with expertise to have a look at my riding to see if it needed tweaking. I had a full day’s one to one ‘enhanced’ training with Rich and found his style to be relaxed, fun and seriously informative. There is no doubt he has years of experience behind him both as a rider and instructor which made for a great days riding during which I learnt so much. I was discouraged at a different centre that passing both mods would be difficult as I’m quite short… Not with ART, they made me feel comfortable and motivated that I can and will do it! And I did! (After only being on a motorbike 8 times in my life) I want to say a huge thanks to all of the team for always being super positive and polite. Especially to Andrew, Colin and Rob who all trained me, gave reasonable feedback on my actions and suggested tips and tricks to help me on my test and in the future riding! Fantastic experience: I started my motorcycle journey with ART with a gear conversion course having passed by CBT on a scooter at another school. I have just passed my MOD2. The gear conversion course in March 2023 involved off-road familiarisation with the bike and gears and then a road session which gave me a hunger for more riding. I used a helmet and motorcycle clothing and boots provided by ART for the session, this was included in the price. The gear conversion road ride was on local roads with lots of turns and pulling away and importantly focusing on staying safe on the road. The instructor Rob was very encouraging and I felt safe, especially as this was only my second time on the road on a bike. At the end of the session I rode a SV650 at slow speed around a car park to have a feel for a bigger bike and I was hooked. I booked onto the DAS course once I had passed my motorcycle theory test. My first MOD1 training was at the end of March with time on the PAD used for the actual test. There was time to familiarise myself with the bike before we focused on the manoeuvres. Colin was clear with his instructions and although a steep learning curve for me, Colin was patient throughout. On the day of my MOD1 Colin took for out for an hour before the test to practice my manoeuvres and to settle my nerves. I failed to relax during the MOD1 despite knowing it was the main thing holding me back and as a result I did not pass. Colin reviewed my mistakes with me and talked me through how I should correct my mistakes. Having failed the MOD1 I then needed to remember why I wanted to ride and had a solo session with Rich and had a blast enjoying the bike and also had two quick sessions on the pad. I got the bike up to speed as I had previously been scared to go above 50mph. Rich was thorough in his explanations and knew the extra session would improve my road awareness and allow me more familiarisation time with the bike that in turn would enable me to relax for upcoming tests. I booked another MOD1 training session with Andy, very chilled and relaxed and exactly what I needed. The tips were the same as I'd heard before and maybe I just needed to hear it for the third time! I blame the student not the tutors!! The day of my MOD1 was with Colin again, for a pre-examination session to focus on my emergency stop. Very helpful and he got me through with tips until the start of the test. Now for MOD2 training with Colin for more fun riding on the roads, staying safe and thinking about road positioning. My MOD2 test was postponed because of strikes so I took the chance for a second MOD2 lesson with Rhi and she was awesome. Different routes and variations on the same advice, I felt really good after the session. MOD2 test was today and prior to the test an hour with Colin to help me relax and focus on my weakness, roundabouts. Colin gave helpful last minute thoughts on my riding that really helped in the test. The experience with ART kept me going, the flexibility in booking lessons and tests demonstrated real customer focus. There is a genuine desire to get more riders on the road. The customer base was a mix, from the totally bike naieve like me, to those who had been riding around town for years on a 125cc. In some sessions I was alone, in others there was one other student. The feedback was always there regardless of there being two riders or not. The bikes are in good condition, SV650, and despite being over 6 foot I was still comfortable. I bought most of my own gear before the DAS course however I needed thinner gloves when the weather improved and bought these on-site from ART having received advice on gloves from Rich. I had a few cups of tea and coffee before or in the middle of sessions thanks to Heidi and Colin and the whole team created a comfortable family warmth that puts you at ease. Next step is to find myself a bike and then I will go back for advanced training.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend ART riders school enough. Very professional and a family vibe to ART. Having never ridden a motorbike, I was able to pass my mod1 and mod2 in a couple of lessons. Colin would quickly pick up on errors and would go out of his way to make sure I knew how to fix them. The little tips that were provided to me to make my riding life better goes a long way.

And I’m sure it would’ve been quicker still, if I didn’t have to go away for work for a week and managing to fail my first mod 2 test… Meeting Andy at the beginning who laid out the best way forwards for me, Ian who completed my CBT and initially gave me these new skills and knowledge, Colin who did both my mod 1 and 2 training growing what I had previously learned and enhancing me with with more skills and knowledge and indeed both Andy and Rich who rode with me to the tests - all amazing guys, great to get on with and they do not just offer the “service” - I’d consider them friends and I very much look forward to catching up soon to show the bike off, ride outs and indeed some enhanced training. Very VERY grateful to all the guys at ART, for their time and I’m sure at times their patience. They get a million out of ten from me!!
