Fantastic experience: When a last minute driving test cancellation came through for my son in Winchester, where he'd had no practice, Kev was generous enough to make space in his schedule to give a lesson the day before, resulting in a BRILLIANT pass with only one minor. Several of the practiced locations came up in the test, so it was invaluable. Picking up a student you've never seen before and being able to coax the best from them the day before their test, is a real skill... Compounded by the fact that said student has additional needs... Kev, you're brilliant!

Fantastic experience: I learnt to drive under the instruction of Claire who works for Kev Tanner’s Driving School. I very quickly found Claire to be a calm and supportive instructor that worked really hard to help me challenge and overcome my anxieties around learning to drive. Each lesson felt thoroughly considered and sculpted around both long and short term goals. Everything was a two way conversation and I never felt like I had to do something I wasn’t comfortable with. We could spend a lesson drilling down into specific concepts or go for a relaxed drive to help highlight where to target next. Claire’s approach as an instructor was especially amazing whenever things went wrong (as they inevitably do whenever someone is learning something new!) and I was never made to feel bad about them and the focus was instead solution - oriented, which helped even the less than ideal moments feel like constructive learning experiences rather than embarrassing mistakes. Claire was always very accommodating with my rather chaotic schedule and even after she successfully helped me to pass my test, went the extra mile in helping me to acclimatise to my own car with additional lessons. I’m incredibly grateful to the time, effort, experience and chats Claire shared with me on this journey and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending others that are looking to learn to drive to reach out to Claire.

Fantastic experience: I can not recommend Kev enough. I passed my driving test today with just 4 minors after driving with Kev for just a few months. He has been so patient, resilient and flexible to my specific needs. I suffer with bad anxiety and sometimes I’d make silly mistakes and he never once got mad or made me feel silly, he would just correct me and inform me in a way I fully understood. His driving techniques and teaching are so clear and having to be a person with routine helped me so much with understanding what I needed to do. I never felt nervous or anxious in his presence and he always made me feel at ease and with his laid back personality we always had a giggle in our lessons. Fantastic experience: Claire was amazing. Every lesson she would remember all details about what I had worked on in previous ones (even from months prior) and what I was good at or struggled with, as if I was her only student. In all lessons I made so much progress and by the end felt confident doing almost anything on the road. She was also super nice and made every second of my lessons a fun experience with lots of talking and laughing. I passed my test first time because of her and am so grateful to have such a good instructor.

Fantastic experience: Kev is a fantastic instructor. There is a lot I can say about him as an instructor, but the main points for me is how he changed the lessons to accommodate how I learn best, he doesn’t just teach one way. I’m very much a hands on, learn as I go person. So Kev would put me in the deep end which helped me tremendously. He’s extremely professional, but also personable and easy going. Which is extremely helpful when you are anxious I felt at ease in the car and we had some good conversations (if that floats your boat). Over all I would highly recommend Kev as an instructor.

Fantastic experience: Kev was the absolute best driving instructor I could have had. It’s be just under a year since I passed my driving test and I still constantly find myself thinking “how would Kev have told me to handle that situation”. He is a firm but fair instructor, who explains your mistakes and how to improve them in detail. He does not get angry when you make a mistake but instead attempts to make you realise what you have done wrong.

Fantastic experience: JUST STOP LOOKING AND CHOOSE KEV!! Where to start.... I'd given up with Driving at the point I found Kev having gone through about 4 different Instructors. I was so sure I'd never pass or even have the confidence to even leave a Parking Space. Kev changed all that! Kev is an incredible Instructor with the patience of a Navy Seal. I've always had issues with concentrating on literally anything and Kev always took that into account and never lost his temper, allowing me to always feel confident with whatever it was I was learning. Fantastic experience: Kev is amazing! Not only is he a lovely person, but he also makes driving enjoyable. As a US driver for 20 years, I was very apprehensive to drive in the UK. Kev was able to put me at ease through his sense of humour and helped me break my bad habits. He had a very clear way of explaining how to drive, best practices and helpful techniques. I really appreciated his patience and persistence especially when I got flustered by the round abouts. I am so thrilled I passed my driving test BUT I will miss my weekly Thursdays with Kev!

Fantastic experience: Kev was great and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. As a slightly older learner (31), I was looking for a pragmatic approach to driving and Kev was perfect for that. In the end I passed first time (automatic) with one minor. With various life interruptions and covid I think we only had about 10 lessons in the end over a couple of months so Kev got the job done quickly and efficiently. Thanks Kev!

Fantastic experience: If you are even thinking of considering looking for another instructor stop! You have struck gold finding Kev. Having suffered with a extreme phobia of being in a car for over 16 year, it was only due to having a baby that I needed to be able to drive. As soon as I called Kev I felt a huge relief. His teaching style is empathetic, encouraging and motivating, and he always kept me calm no matter how anxious I felt. In 3 months I went from feeling terrified to go over 10mph and, to feeling confident and excited about driving. With my test approaching I felt very nervous and self doubt kicked in, but Kev installed great faith in me, made me feel prepared and at ease and…. I passed my test first time with a clean sheet!! I will be forever grateful to Kev and will not stop singing his praises and recommending him to anyone wanting to learn. You will be lucky to have him. There are not enough stars available to show how wonderful he is!

Fantastic experience: I had failed 5 tests with other instructors before choosing Kev and Jason. I had failed with a lot of minors and normally a couple of majors. Then starting my lessons with these two I felt like I could do everything needed in a test to pass. On my first test after having lessons with both Kev and Jason I passed with no minors at all. Fantastic experience: Had some driving lessons with Jason who works with Kevin. Very friendly instructor, patient, kind and made me a much more confident driver. Can't thank him enough for him helping me pass my driving test! Highly Recommend.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Instructors! I had Jason after I failed my first test because I hadn’t even been taught some of the maneuvers, after about 10 lessons I was a totally new driver! It may have taken another 2 tests (failed due to other drivers but hey :/ ) I’ve finally passed and honestly I can’t thank Jason enough, it’s hard to find someone that can actually TEACH you to drive rather than tell you to drive :) If anyone is looking for an amazing driving instructor for the Winchester area, you’ve most definitely found them. -Ollie :)

Fantastic experience: I had lessons with Kev for just over 8 months. He is a great instructor, he is reliable, patient and explained every aspect very clearly. Kev was happy for my lessons and my test to happen in my own car, which worked perfectly for me. Thanks to Kev I passed my test second time with only 1 minor!

Fantastic experience: Had Jason from start to finish and was a great driving instructor. He always gave clear instructions and explanations. Learning to drive can be a nervous experience but Jason made sure to keep me calm and confident with his sense of humour and personality. Would definitely recommend this driving school.
