Fantastic experience: Passed with John H with only 1 minor, couldn’t ask for a better instructor

Fantastic experience: I passed my test first time! I had such a great driving instructor, John in Rochester was such a fantastic instructor and motivator.

Negative experience: If you get Alex assigned as your driving instructor, don't bother and go with another company. He will turn up late, talk about himself (and his ex wife) constantly, I feel like I wasted so much money sitting there listening to him go on about stuff that wasn't at all relevant to driving. He would sometimes keep me past my lesson time rambling on and on and on, no respect for my time whatsoever. There was also no lesson structure at all, he'd forget everything I had learned each week and kept moving my test date because he clearly couldn't be bothered to remember or teach me some stuff until the last minute. Awful.

Fantastic experience: I have been using A Class for about 18 months now with over 100+ hours I am on my third instructor! my first was OK but I felt he lost patience with me and passed me to another instructor. I did 50+ hours with her but felt she was looking for perfection and she kept telling me to push my test back as she didn't feel I was ready, so I decided to contact A Class to request someone else as I felt we were not a very good fit anymore. I had no confidence even with all those hours behind me! I was then passed to Zane and honestly I feel it was 3rd time lucky. I have only had 3 lessons and feel my confidence is growing! He is patient and doesn't make me feel stupid if I make a mistake. (I'm only human after all!) and he is encouraging me to test soon! I can't wait to attempt my test!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend John W. I had 16 automatic lessons with him and couldn't have passed without him. John made sure I knew everything needed to pass before my test, and even more on top!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience learning with A Class and instructor Marcel. Coming in as a learner with a foreign license, I was able to pass my UK driving test on my first try with zero minors, thanks to Marcel’s guidance. Not only did he take me on with short notice, but he also helped me break my bad habits and adopt the UK’s safety standards. Marcel’s expertise and patience were exactly what I needed to feel confident and fully prepared for the test. Most local instructors didn’t even respond to my inquiries, so I truly appreciate A Class and Marcel for stepping up and making this possible. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: No one ever answers the phone. I’ve now called 4 different times this week.

Negative experience: I would give 0 if I could. Avoid Amadeo. Is very unprofessional he cancelled my lessons so many times in the last minute but I had to be okay with that. The only I had an emergency and I asked if we could start half hour later he told he he could but we will be doing 1:30h lesson for the price of a 2h lesson. When I refused this he then told me I’ll have to pay him the full lessons as I didn’t give him 48h notice. But how could I give him that if in that morning I had to take my 1 year old to the hospital. On top of that I had 20 hours with him and we never covered everything he said we will cover in that lessons( even when he said I’m doing really well) he was just spending more time showing me things in his books than actually practicing. He was trying to get as much money as he could from me and he also asked me to give him cash in hand which I never did. I’ve got messages to prove that if you want to see it. Again AVOID AMADEO.

Fantastic experience: Ive failed 4 times despite of driving in my home country for 12 years, but MR. DAVID KITE IS AN ABSOLUTE WIZARD of an instructor! All the things I needed to know and all my confusions were sorted in the first session and he practiced me to get rid of my bad habbits in a short period of time. Its not about just telling the do’s and dont’s based on how I experienced his teaching style. Its about using proper use of words direct and concise which makes me realise alot of important principles of the road. Highly recommended driving instructor he is! Hes a man who is capable of getting other driving school out of business to be honest. I passed my practical driving exam days after my session with him.

Negative experience: I would give you 0 you are worst driving school. I have done over 30 hours mu instructor left because he moved somewhere else he can't help me out right before my test. Then they said to me book driving test after they will give me instructor I booked this time they can't help because I already booked.

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars. I wouldn't recommend for a teenager. The driving instructor Luz wasn't always reliable over the last 16 months, either cancelling lessons or taking 5 or 6 weeks breaks from lessons. She then abandoned my son 3 working days before his driving test because she said it would look "bad" on her record. No duty of care especially with a lad who would always show respect and not speak back to someone in authority or older than him. Absolute shame for the behaviour and lack of care that you have shown. We wished we never booked with this instructor, a waste of money and time. Avoid at all costs.

Instructors are amazing, always having a laugh and a joke as they teach you everything you'll need to know about the vehicle. They give you honest opinions about your driving at all points. I would recommend to everyone i know who wants to do either class 1 or class 2. I will however warn them about Simon and his harmonica

Negative experience: 0 stars for Ali. He is the worst instructor possible. More than half his students leave to find a different instructor or a completely different company. All he wants is your money and will keep asking you to take more and more lessons when you are completely ready. Avoid at all cost.

Fantastic experience: Could not recomend A class enough, group of great people with one goal only in their minds which is get you passed 1st try. Paul has been great and without his help I could not pass my test today. So greatfull to have chosen A class for my Class 2 training and will definitely come back in a year time for Class 1. Thanks soo much Paul, go A Class.

Negative experience: I purchased a lesson as a gift and I was told they fully booked on that area , to refund me money They charge 10%. please avoid if you’re not sure and you have no time to read all that lecture they post on their website. Hate people trying to make them reach on others . Will not recommend to anyone. Looks like people can not make a mistake and they have to pay now for refunds.

Fantastic experience: I had a brief and quick lessons in Gillingham with Mr Elie Skaf. His approach and encouragement gave me the all the confidence I needed to do my driving test. His insistence on certain driving principles was apt and really helped.. A wonderful instructor. Thanks A-Class

Negative experience: Nothing against the actual company - just the one instructor. Only writing now because siblings are currently learning to drive and had reminisced on experience. 1). Stretched out intensive course (30hrs) over 2 months even though all lessons and hours were paid - spent around £1.5k all in all. 2). Instructor kept cancelling on me. 3). Kept insisting I needed more lessons (10 more hours advised) - but then another Instructor said I only needed 2-4hours to be TEST READY. 4). Instructor - ELAINE LAWSON - ghosted me and has not spoken to me since repeatedly cancelling on me over her health or brother in laws health or whatever nonsense - EVEN THOUGH I CAN SEE THROUGH REVIEWS SHE IS STILL TEACHING 5). no email, no text since August/September 2019 - my number and email are still the same.

Fantastic experience: I passed my class one test on Wednesday, the 3rd of August 2022 with two miners first time My teacher was called John and he was very informative and made you feel relaxed the whole week of your training. It can be a very pressured environment driving a class one vehicles for the first time but all the guys at the school made it a relaxing but still keeping a standard of teaching at a higher level. I would definitely recommend going to this driving school to gain your class one license.

Fantastic experience: It’s called A-Class for a reason. What a fantastic school it is, great personnel, amazing people and instructors. Thank you for a lady who was always helpful on a phone, organising times and slots for lessons and test itself. Also, big thanks to instructor Paul, fascinating guy, very supportive and great at his job. Trained me well as a safe driver and brought me up to that DVSA practical test standard. A big thanks to the instructor I have passed my CPC with (Paul’s mate, didn’t catch his name), funny guy, prepared me well too. Thanks to this driving school I’m now on my new job hunt. The only downside is the age trucks, could be newer.

Fantastic experience: I had David as instructor he was so kind and charming, I loved him straight away. He has been patient and understanding with me through the whole time. I had some driving experiences and even take a test and failed, then COVID 19 kicked in no lesson for more than a year, I lost my confidence. On first lesson with David I was shacking and I could not even go over 30 miles on speed. David put me at ease and reassured me it's okay to do mistake and that's why he is here with me. He encouraged me and praised me lot. My old intrustor was very different and not pleasant I was always scare to make mistake therefore I was not doing much progress. I can even said that David is more than an driving instructor he is a therapist I felt like talking to a psychologist during the lessons and believe me I know, he was listening to me. I lost my sister recently and I didn't have any body to talk to about what I was going through as I needed to be strong for mother but David was there for me I cried in his car and we talked about lost, death and moaning. I could not wait for the next lesson. Getting to David car was for me the best part of my day even though driving isn't my thing I was learning how to drive because of my job. I enjoyed every minute a spent with David. I even thought David wanted me to pass my test more than myself. I can't recommend enough and I did pass to make him proud but mostly for myself.

Fantastic experience: Passed my Lgv test today with A class, I must say it Has been a very enjoyable week,I trained with Matt who is very calm and relaxed and makes you feel Confident in your own ability.I enjoyed the banter with the other instructors very much, down to earth guys Who all know their stuff. The office always answered any questions I had and sent emails in a timely manner with information that I requested. Negative experience: Not worth even 1 star. Initial conversation with a call centre who said an instructor would call shortly. 3 days later the call centre rang to check if I'd spoken to 'Alan' the instructor, when I said no they apologised and said they'd put the request through again, still no call back!! 3 days on again another call to check if 'Alan' had rung I told them not to bother, very unprofessional, doesn't make for a good relationship if they can't be bothered to contact you in first place.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Phoned A class they said we’re get an instructor to call you later today, 3 days later I call back to see what’s happened? Oh sorry we’re get Paul to call you today, another 3 days later I call again, to be told yes we’ve got your details we will call later today with another instructor. Another week passes still no contact. I call to ask if they have any reliable instructors that actually stick to appointments. Week later still nothing I decided to not bother with this company as they obviously cannot keep appointments and there very unreliable.

Fantastic experience: High recommend, great contact with office. Paul was amazing teacher for class 2. He show me all important things to be good driver and pass my test. I admire him that he stood with me even when I didn't look in mirror for the fifft time in row. After one year I back to do class 1 and guys still are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Can't imagine better way to pass my test.

Negative experience: Initially was booked with driving instructor John. Had one lesson with him then he pulled out and stated he is no longer doing lessons in my area. If I didn’t contact him and ask him we wouldn’t have informed me. So unprofessional and disappointing as my test date is very soon. Wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: From when I decided to take my Class 1 License A Class at Gillingham have supported me every step of the way. From Niki who has been nothing but brilliant in guiding me on what I need to achieve before I even thought about taking my practical assessment, always answering my calls with friendly advice, to Simon who had to put up with me for 5 days, his professional advice and guidance helped me understand what it means to be a lorry driver and to eventually pass my practical test. I would recommend A Class Driving School to anyone who wishes to take up Lorry Driving as a career.

Fantastic experience: I did my Car driving test with A-Class back in 2015, and I passed first time, in 19 Lessons! 6 Years later I’m back at A-Class to do my Class 2 License. I did a 3 day intense course. I passed my Class 2 test first time, thanks to A-Class! I’ll be going back for my Class 1. Hopefully I can do the same! 10/10 Recommend their instructors!

Negative experience: Absolutely 0 star if I could give, my driving instructor Baban used better teaching methods far too late and only started to use them within the 5 lessons before my practical test. I did 50 lessons and he did not give me his car for the test saying that a DI can refuse to not give their car for the test but he told me this just one day before my test day and it was never shown on A class website so I feel like he was hiding this information to try and get more money. If anyone is taking the A class driving school in Maidstone don't waste your money with taking this instructor.

Negative experience: VERY MISLEADING WEBSITE!!!!!! Beware that the pricing shown on this website is NOT the pricing that your instructor will charge you. They honour the price for the first booking only but any subsequent lessons are at the individual instructor's discretion (meaning the prices are no longer so attractive and the 'bulk' deals are not being honoured!) Find your own local instructor and sort out the pricing before you start to avoid disappointment.

Fantastic experience: With lock down going on trying to get test and lessons booked has been very stressful. twice i had to rebook lessons with my instructor (I used Trevor). By the time we were allowed lessons and a test i only had 3 days to practise before hand and Trevor was perfect, he got my though it confidently. The night before my test by car broke down, Jason from A Class called in the morning did everything to get me a car, ensure it was covid clean and reassure me even though it was a different car that i could pass, AND I DID BOOOOM - TREVOR YOUR THE MAN. Highly recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: Passed first time with no minors with will for the Avonmouth test centre. Professional website and instructor who knows the test routes very well and all difficult parts of the test routes. Highly recommend for those looking to pass first time and actually learn to drive a car safely than just being test standard. Also has a superb website outlining all the difficult parts and videos explaining routes and how to nail those roundabouts. Highly recommend

Negative experience: If you are a new driver looking for Automatic lessons in Sittingbourne, you probably know that there aren't many options. When I found A-Class on such short notice, and found out John Higgins was their only Automatic driving instructor in the area, I thought I was lucky. I was wrong. I had 2 lessons with John, in which he taught me to a reasonable standard. He was by no means patient but I progressed quickly despite that, and managed to drive home by only my second lesson. What really makes John a terrible instructor is how unprofessional he was throughout. After the first lesson he tried to pressure me into giving him a 5 star review which is bizzare because I clearly didn't know him well enough at that point. After the second lesson he was meant to book me in for a lesson the following week. I saw that he had a double slot, and I was comfortable with either time so he told me he'd let me know which slot he'd given me in due course. The day before the lesson approaches and John still hasn't contacted me so I ask him what time our lesson will be. He tells me he's "too busy" and I'll have to wait for a lesson in the following 2 weeks. Clearly he'd forgotten our agreement and booked another student into the slot I'd been promised. I understand the busy nature of a job like this, however John refused to apologise. Instead he told me to find another instructor because it was beyond his control. I called 30 different instructors that day, who were all booked up for months, or taught only Manual lessons. I begrudgingly told John that I would see him in the following 2 weeks for our lesson, at the time he'd suggested. 2 weeks pass and I message John to confirm our lesson (because he never reaches out first), and he tells me that he did not agree on a lesson. At this point I just gave up and left A-Class. Instructors like John Higgins are the worst kind of instructors. They take advantage of new drivers with less money, forcing you to work around their schedule. He would show up late to the lessons but still try to finish early, and one lesson he even had me drive him to his house so he could pick something up without telling me in advance. I recommend booking lessons at any of the great agencies in Sittingbourne 2-3 months before you would like to learn, so you do not find yourself at the mercy of a disgraceful instructor like Higgins.

Negative experience: Would avoid this company. I spent 10 hours driving around the same road at 30mph although I was more than ready for much bigger challenges. I feel like they are cheap because they are awful. My instructor also told me that he never received my payment and told me I had only done 13 hours even though I did way more!

Fantastic experience: Emailed an enquiry as I wanted to learn in an automatic, I got a call within a few hours to talk about what I needed and the same day the instructor got in contact to book in my lessons. Every lesson I feel more and more confident. John my instructor is great, he put me at ease straight away, explains everything fully with patiently and clearly. I am honestly so pleased with the service I receive as a customer across the board I would whole heartedly recommend A-Class and in particular John for his teaching skills.

Negative experience: I have had 2 instructors with the same driving school, one of them would blow of my driving time by constantly chatting to me before i could get even get to drive. I had one hour lessons, for which i only drove about 15-20 mins. If i did the slightest thing wrong, the guy would yell at me. The second instructor that I had, was a total creep who was also rude times. Although I did not like him, he was efficient when it came to my driving. It did not seem like he was purely interested in my money (unlike the other instructor), but his attitude was rude and unprofessional at times. He would be late at times, which obviously is understandable with the nature of the job, however he would not even inform me about his lateness prior to my lessons. I would advise anyone who is looking for an instructor to get guidance and advise form previous students, rather than going straight into a driving school company like A-Class.

Fantastic experience: Doug was a fantastic instructor patient and so very kind and honest with me saying id be better with automatic lessons.

Negative experience: My friend tried using A class but the instructor would either turn up late without letting my friend know or just cancel and only tell my friend when he asked where he was. Also, saw an instructor in a black Citroen today smoking in the car while driving would never recommend A class

Negative experience: As a new driver I was hoping I would do well with this company, prices for a beginners pack was great and hourly lessons after were very affordable that’s the only good points. My driving instructor provided to me by the company was ok when he actually followed through on my booked days but he cancelled on me multiple times short notice (30 minutes before my lesson) for silly reasons like he had a nose bleed... I then proceeded to try to get a hold of him for lessons after 12 hours with him and he ignored me and my parents when we called or texted! Terrible! I’ve now had to find a new instructor from a different company who is already better and more organised.

Fantastic experience: Thought I'd do a review of my lessons so far. I've put off driving for years because of nerves but I finally decided to go for it and chose a class as their prices are excellent. My driving instructor John h has made me feel so comfortable I genuinely think I can do this! I would highly recommend this company and John to everyone I know! Will update review when I've passed!! ***Update (2years later!)*** I realised that I never Updated my review and thought I should! I passed my theory and driving test first time and within a year of my first ever driving lesson! I laugh to myself everytime I'm driving and see John when he's doing a lesson as I still can't believe I did it! I have zero fears anymore and I'm definitely a confident driver now! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: A Class is a very good driving school where instructors tailor the lessons to your needs and get you where you need to be. I was particularly pleased with my instructor John H, who helped me go from beginner to feeling like an experienced driver quickly but safely and made it comfortable for me to learn. thank you!

Fantastic experience: Liz the driving instructor in Sittingbourne is a gem for this company. Starting from day 1 she proved that she knows her job well and does it well. Liz has patience, is a fantastic driver, great instructor and to top it all very relaxed. Liz makes you feel like you have already passed the test when you are just starting the lessons . I passed my driving yesterday first time yeaaaa....even with all the horrid stories I heard from other people about Driving tests, this credit goes to Liz a great deal. Who ever is out there looking for an instructor , I recommend Liz and she is also very hardworking and pleasant . Thank You A class for introducing me to Liz and thumbs up Liz. I am soooo happy. Fantastic experience: Just passed my test. Had the best instructor John H, couldn’t thank him enough absolute legend. Not a bad word to say about him, if your looking for an instructor look no further than John. Makes you feel comfortable in the car. Like I said top bloke.

Fantastic experience: My son, diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, passed today. Instructor Steve has been amazing in his tuition and wonderfully patient and kind. I can't express my thanks enough. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Just started lessons with John H had other instructors in the past and none have given me the confidence and support like John has. Provides a laid back and comfortable environment to learn and would highly recommend him to everyone. Mega pleased just passed my test. Can't thank John enough for the support his has given me over the past 3 months. Can't fault his professionalism and general personality to help you feel comfortable to learn. Thanks John.

Fantastic experience: If anyone is going with A-class, request mike! He’s got the nicest attitude towards a learner, a very polite manner of teaching and is extremely understanding when it comes to an issue. Thought it was worth leaving a review so if there are any other new drivers who are uncomfortable about starting, Mike is the guy who will build up your comfort and get you through your test.

Negative experience: 15/07/2019 Not recommended, instructor was being impatient. He was even making me feel scared for the lesson, swearing, bad body language...etc. In addition, he was so dishonest. I had completed my intensive course and he refused to take me to the test and not offering me a refund, was trying to negotiate with either A class and the instructor via Email. No one would like to help and response, A Class seems to leave pupils under unprotected. I couldn't believe that happened at the big driving school. If you choose them, good luck. Especially if your instructor is called John E, some reviews did mention the same person. 16/07/2019 After posting this A Class finally response my email and this is part of the message, "Thank you for your email and apologies that you are not happy with the service you received. I can confirm I have spoken to John who assures me that he did advise and make it very clear that should you not be ready for the test then he would not be taking you. All driving Instructors are self-employed and are not obliged to take students to test if they do not feel the student is safe and or ready for test. " This proof show how unsupported they are. Even if he felt that I am not ready for the test, he should provide a refund as this was part of the AGREEMENT. A-Class just take the money and leave pupils without protection. 17/09/2019 Had a long email chat with Jason Willson today, here are part of the emails , "If you have read the terms then you will see that Sundays are not included which is why John advised it would be non refundable. " - Jason "According to Standard Lesson Cancellations, “Must be made 48 hours before the time of the lesson or the full lesson fee will be charged” - Me "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our pupil books clearly state this in the terms, we will rectify this on our websites." - Jason Then he added another point, "Once an intensive driving course is booked and paid for via our web site, or over the phone or directly to the driving instructor, no refund of the payment will be returned to the purchaser." - Jason " 6 hours of the intensive lesson on Saturday (22/06/2019) and Sunday (23/06/2019) plus a 2 hours test-day." This is the whole package. It is the AGREEMENT we made. [Once paid, you have agreed the contact.] According to block bookings/intensive Courses term and condition. I have completed my 6 hours intensive lesson, he did not allow me to spend 2 hours test-days." - Me "According to the Consumer Right Act 2015. Services MUST be provided with reasonable care and skill. Clearly, Mr John E’s behaviors have already been against that. In addition, I did not receive the whole package of what our agreement said about the service. Although John could not provide anything that I agree the term of “non-refundable”. In fact According to Consumer Right Act, “business ordinarily cannot rely on unfair term.” - Me "As previously discussed it would be best to discuss this with me further tomorrow on xxxxxxx" - Jason 18/09/2019 I have spoken to Jason on phone. "Again he advised that I report that to DVSA and Aclass does not responsible for his behaviors" End of story

Negative experience: Unprofessional and rude costumer service. Damion Smith was my Driving instructor and I couldn't emphasise enough how unsatisfied i am with him. always late and ending lessons short. swearing and using his phone while I'm driving and he rearranged a lesson without agreeing with me and took my deposit for not rushing to get to the lesson and wasting 30 minutes.
