Fantastic experience: Gee was my instructor and he took me from zero driving experience to passing my test first time with just two minors. As someone who can be anxious, it has been an excellent experience and Gee was patient throughout. His lessons made me a confident driver and they were easily adapted to focus on the areas I needed to improve on, or become more confident with. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Positive experience: Update 27/11: MA Driving School has been very helpful since I posted this review, promising to send the instructors mentioned on development training before they teach again and offering me a free lesson with another, allegedly more competent, instructor, Azeem. Update 8/12: It took a further week to organise this lesson due to Azeem's commitments, but the free lesson happened on 5/12/24. It was only 1 hour, though I'd requested 2, due to his schedule. The lesson was taught well, and I learned a lot, but as it was my first lesson in a new car after a 2-week break, I didn’t fully settle into driving. Azeem and I discussed whether I’d be ready for my test, and he said it was 50/50. I tried to book 2 lessons per week (including a 2-hour one), but he was fully booked until a week later and couldn’t confirm a 2-hour session. I decided I wouldn’t be ready in time due to these constraints and canceled my test. While MA Driving School did provide a free lesson and a competent teacher, they should have ensured the instructor had enough availability given the time constraints. I’ve increased my rating from 1* to 3*. Original Review 26/11/24: I’m extremely frustrated by how I’ve been treated by MA Driving School. I feel angry and let down, especially over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been passed between instructors, many of whom canceled lessons at the last minute. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding MA Driving School. Here’s why: I started lessons with Ali in August 2024. He was a good teacher and advised me to book a test in early January. Unfortunately, he had to take time off at the end of September and transferred me to Adeel. It took 2 weeks to schedule a lesson with Adeel (partly my fault for missing a message). He canceled our first confirmed lesson on 16/10 due to illness, and the first actual lesson took place on 23/10. A second lesson was planned for 1/11 but was delayed an hour at the last minute, which didn’t work for me. We rescheduled for 6/11, where he informed me he couldn’t drop me home as agreed. After some stress, he agreed to drop me 10 minutes from my house. After our third and final lesson, I messaged Adeel to arrange another. He read the message but didn’t reply. Follow-up messages on 17/11 and 20/11 didn’t go through. On 21/11, I contacted Ali again, explaining my test was approaching and I was panicking. He initially agreed to take me back but later admitted he was too busy and referred me to Adam, who passed me to Nadeem. I contacted Nadeem on 23/11 to arrange a lesson for 24/11. He agreed and promised to confirm the time the next morning. He proposed 6 PM, which I accepted. At 4 PM, I messaged him about a potential delay due to the train, but it went unread. At 6 PM, I messaged again to say I was ready. At 6:05, I called him, but the call was instantly declined. At 6:07, he messaged, "Sorry, please phone MA. I’m not available on short notice." I reminded him we’d agreed that morning, but he didn’t respond further. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, leaving me scrambling for a new driving school just 6 weeks before my test, with Christmas in between.

Fantastic experience: Came all the way from London to take a test with MA in Handsworth. Maz was my instructor, a very professional and collected person. We went through an hour of preparations where Maz made sure I got acquainted with the car and with some major local junctions. Negative experience: I had a 2 hour lesson for first time. In fact it was more like 1 hour 40 mins. Went to a car park and only thing the instructor did was tell me how to drive in first gear through the car park. She did not teach me any other gears, and also told me how to brake. Should mention that I was not told how or what the handbrake is. That was it!! Now I have changed to a different instructor in a different school and it is so much better, I drove back home on the first lesson and was actually on the main roads compared to MA driving school which only let me drive in a car park.. in first gear. UPDATE: My instructor was Nazmin, 2 hour lesson in Herringthorpe Car Park - 23 February. I wasn’t told at the time of booking that if I’m not happy with my instructor to report them, I’m happy to request a refund, can I have email or contact number. Thanks

We are a driving School and have many instructors on board. It is very difficult for us to take any appropriate disciplinary measure against the instructor as you have not mentioned their name. We do tell all our customer at the time of booking that if you are not entirely happy with the instructor we provide you must report them to us at the booking office. We will then very confidentially allocate a different instructor. We wish you all the very best with your driving journey and very sorry that we couldn’t meet your expectations.
