He’s incredibly patient, always calm, and super attentive. No matter how many times I needed to go over something, he was always ready to help without any stress. The atmosphere during our lessons was fantastic, making them some of the best moments of my learning journey. Samuel’s kindness and dedication really stand out, and I can recommend him to anyone, at any stage of life, who wants to learn to drive efficiently and enjoyably. Fantastic experience: Sam Orpin who was my automatic driving instructor was the best instructor I could have been assigned to. He made me feel at ease, comfortable and most importantly helped me passed my driving test first time. I really couldn’t have done it without him. The mutual driving team are so nice and helpful, a shout out to Nathan and Russell, who both also helped with giving their great expertise with tips and tricks to remember important information and learn new driving techniques. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Mutual Driving School - having done lessons and multiple failed tests with another instructor, I was a few months removed from driving when I reached out to Mutual 3 weeks before my test. They got me in contact with instructor Jake who, with his patience and understanding, fixed the gaps in my knowledge and ability which resulted in me finally passing my test with 2 minors. Highly reccomend!

Fantastic experience: I had Samuel Orpin teach me automatic for 4 months and I passed with 1 driver fault. I’m not onto pass plus. Not only is he a fantastic teacher, he’s actually incredibly funny, and chats to you and you feel like you’re driving with a friend while also learning! I’m excited to get into the pass plus and anyone joining should 100% use him as he teaches for passing but also explain real life situations and helps you out!

Fantastic experience: I had a short window in which to pass my UK test before moving abroad, and I was concerned about whether it was possible. With the help of the whole Mutual Driving School team, and especially with Jake's teaching and patience I was able to pass at Wanstead test centre on my first test after only 8 weeks of weekend lessons. Fantastic experience: In the end, what made this experience so amazing was not the fact I passed my test but that the journey to that pass was made with such amazing people. Honestly, if you like learning in a safe and relaxing environment from professional drivers with exceptional teaching skills then 100% Mutual is the right choice. It is a very professionally run operation and that shows but it doesn't feel corporate or clinical, it feels grassroots and you feel these people are here for you. Mutual provide a really supportive environment and in every interaction, every single one, not just with the instructors but even calling the office it absolutely comes across that these people want to help you pass your test. I certainly could go on here, so much so it'd benefit from a table of contents and separate chapters. Honestly, it really is that good of a service and they really are that good as people - every single one of these 5 star reviews is 100% deserved.

Fantastic experience: I'm not generally one to leave reviews for things, so hopefully that should give you an insight into the kind of service I've received by the Mutual Driving School where I feel compelled to share my experience with you. Unfortunately, I did not prioritise getting a drivers license until my 30's. Without going into unnecessary detail about why that is and wasting your time with too much information, I feel it helps paint the picture should your situation in any way resemble mine. Whilst looking for the best way to go about it, I was nervous for a variety of reasons but also did not want to have to spend an extortionate amount of money. From my very first trial lesson with Chris (I highly recommend asking for him when you call, I wouldn't have changed my driving instructor for any other on this planet) I knew I was in safe hands. What is more, I felt that he not only prepared me for the test (I passed on my first driving test) but he helped me develop the motor skills and awareness that can only come with experience and a deep understanding of the rules of the road. Not only was I making leaps of progress as a driver every week but I had a great time along the way. Having now also met Sam, who is the second generation business owner of this family run operation, I can see that there is a theme within the Mutual Driving School where you get a group of real, experienced, fair, charismatic and dare I say dashingly handsome driving instructors. In conclusion, if you're reading this and wondering should I or shouldn't I: Just do yourself and everyone else on the road a favour and pick up the phone & call them (shoutout to my man Chris who is my roaddawg) and enjoy the ride.

Fantastic experience: I passed first time today in Tottenham thanks to Amir and his exceptional teaching. When looking for an instructor as a brand new driver I really wanted someone who was calm, easy to get along with and would be able to build my confidence on the roads. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than Amir. I’m so grateful for his patience and calm nature and he’s made the learning process so much easier. Fantastic experience: I started out with absolutely no experience behind the wheel whatsoever. I didn’t know what to expect and so just started doing lessons on a whim. My instructer Niki was amazing and made sure i felt as comfortable behind the wheel and in his lessons as possible.He made sure everything was taught to me at a speed i was comfortable with and would double even triple check that i understood what to do and how to do it. I’ve now passed after my third attempt the last two fails being mainly due to nerves and he never gave up on me and encouraged me to keep trying. thankyou niki :)

Fantastic experience: Last week I passed my driving test, thanks to the stunning teaching of Adam (lovely guy), who was the best driving instructor I have ever had (only one I ever had). Fantastic experience: Started with Ahmed in July and passed first time in Wanstead with only two minors and under 30 hours of lessons. I was really up against it on timing as am moving for work and wanted to pass my test before that; Ahmed ensured that all our lessons were focused and thorough. His calm nature meant I picked things up quickly and his friendly character made it an enjoyable experience.

Positive experience: I passed first time in Wanstead thanks to my instructor Ryhan! Ryhan was punctual, never cancelled a lesson, he was very understanding of my unpredictable schedule and was very encouraging from day 1. One thing to bear in mind with Mutual is that if you would like to cancel or reschedule a lesson you will need to get in touch with the office (as you don't have direct contact with your instructor) and it can take a few days to arrange. If you give too short notice, you will be charged for the unattended lesson. I passed in 5 months with Mutual. If I can do it, so can you!

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school. I was taught by Ahmed, who is personable, professional, and punctual. I started lessons with him with some driving experience outside of London. Ahmed helped me in becoming a confident driver in London. Lessons were tailored to the skills I needed to develop. I passed my test in Tottenham with 2 minors. I always looked forward to my lessons, and to chatting to Ahmed. He is a very calm, patient, and experienced driver. He is also a very nice guy. I’ve never had issues with the car: it was always spotless. I would recommend the driving school (and Ahmed in particular) to anyone looking to learn to drive.

I can honestly say it was a pleasure to have lessons with him and Mutual Driving School, the level of expertise is evident and Niki did everything he could to ensure I was at test standard but also confident and calm about everything. Fantastic experience: Chris took me on as a novice manual driver and was very patient during our lessons. Each lesson had an objective / goal which kept progress going. Chris was very attentive and always communicated when any mistakes occurred so I am aware of what to do and what not to do to ensure road safety for everyone around. Fantastic experience: I started driving lessons with Naadira in April 2023, and she has been nothing short of amazing. From day one, she was incredibly patient, working with me not just to pass my test but to ensure I became a confident and safe driver. I struggled with the foot pedals at first, and she could see how overwhelming it was for me. Naadira noticed this and suggested cutting my lessons from two hours to one, allowing me to build up my skills gradually. It worked wonders — as I gained confidence, we slowly extended the lessons again until I felt comfortable driving for longer periods. With her guidance, I improved steadily and passed my test with only one minor! Naadira is also incredibly kind, but don’t mistake her kindness for being soft. She’s a strict teacher in the best possible way, and that’s exactly what I needed. I couldn’t recommend her enough! Everyone I have encountered at Mutual’s is amazing, great team.

Positive experience: Originally had James as an instructor, but due to scheduling issues, I when over to Ahmed. He’s been an amazing instructor and has a great teaching style and very approachable personality. Ended up passing the Wanstead test route first time with his help. Fantastic experience: Ahmed my instructor was great from start to finish. His very calm nature and structured approach to learning ensured that I passed my test on the first attempt. As a person he is easy to get along with and as an instructor he is exceptional at what he does. My nerves behind the wheel were gone the moment I stepped foot in his car as his reassuring demeanour allows for a great learning environment. Ahmed knew when I was ready to move onto the next challenge and ensured that I was always pushing myself to do better. We had plenty of time to arrange for mock tests and to scope out the area of my test (Bromley) beforehand to ensure I was the most prepared I could be for my test. All of my praises culminated in a pass on my first attempt with only 2 minor faults! I would highly recommend mutual and particularly Ahmed’s services to anyone looking to learn.

Fantastic experience: I had just two refresher lessons with Sam and it was all the help I needed to get back on the road, having passed my test 10 years ago. He was really patient with me (even after stalling at round about traffic lights) which made me feel at ease enough to concentrate. I’m now driving zip vans round London picking up furniture for my new flat, which I never would have done had I not had these lessons. Decent value for money for London as well. Would 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: Huge thanks to Jake for guiding this slightly-later-in-life learner to pass first time just before I hit 40! Jake was very patient, calm, and knowledgeable, and I really appreciated the effort he made to adapt his teaching to how I learn best. Russ and Jimmy 'retrained' me for the challenges of East London's traffic congestion and the complex rules of the road. They were knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, and were backed up by a dedicated office staff. You can't do better than Mutual!

Fantastic experience: Passed today in Tottenham! Adam has been my instructor since Feb this year. I had done quite a few lessons before with other driving schools but it was very stop-start and non-consistent. I think this was largely down to not finding an instructor that I gelled with… However from the first lesson with Adam I knew his instructing style was going to be perfect for me. Calm, collected and forgiving. He was brilliant at breaking concepts down simply. I can’t sing his praises enough and really appreciate the time, effort and patience he had with me. Recommend Mutual, but more specifically Adam 10 times over!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Samuel Orpin highly enough! Before beginning lessons with Mutual, I was worried about the complicated rules and regulations that govern driving in the UK. Sam has a way of making everything seem extremely simple and methodical. I only needed a couple of months of lessons before I was able to pass my test at Sidcup. Fantastic experience: Really recommend Mutual. They were easy to deal with, managed with changes to lessons, booking etc really well and were really reliable. I came back to driving lessons nearly 30 years after failing my first test as a teenager and wasn't at all sure I'd stick with them, let alone that I'd be able to pass a test. Jimmy is a brilliant instructor; he was patient and clear in the way he explained things and understood and helped me get past my anxieties without letting them take up too much space. I told him at the start that I wanted to learn to be a proper driver, i.e to have the confidence to actually go out in the car on a regular basis and go to different places, not just to pass the test for the sake of it, and that's exactly where I've got to. My instructor taught professionally and was keen to give me experience on a variety of roads with varying lanes and speed limits. Eventually, I passed with experience on the roads I was tested on. Fantastic experience: Learnt to drive with Ahmed, started in February and passed first time in August. I spent around 30 hours having lessons, all of which were high quality, enjoyable, well structured, and very affordable. I had no worries that I wouldn't pass first time and felt fully prepared and at ease on my test day. The driving school was very helpful if I ever needed to make a cancellation or rearrange a lesson. I would highly recommend Mutual (and Ahmed in particular) to anybody wanting to learn to drive. I had a great experience all around!

Negative experience: The comments are generally good but my experience is negative because this course first said we start on Wednesday, I said okay. I was told that Thursday would be more convenient, so I said yes. They called me on Wednesday while I was out doing my business, but I didn't hear it. I listened to the voicemail and came back. He said he will call me at 18:00 in the evening. I waited and no one called. Then they called at 21:00. I didn't see. The next day they said, "The teacher we arranged for you, x, left his job. We only have two automatic cars and no space." I feel ignored and lied to. How can a 45-year-old course act so unplanned and waste a week of my time? Moreover, there are no solution suggestions. I am very sad and confused. Mutual driving school Disappointed me.

Fantastic experience: I started my lesson with Ryhan on 9th July, with my theory expiring exactly on the August 9th. In under a month, Ryhan got me test ready - he was very patient with all my mistakes during lessons and told me everything I needed to do to pass, as well as helping me become a more confident and safe driver. I passed 1st time today with Ryhan because of his excellent advice and efficient utilisation of lesson times, best instructor out there for sure. Would 100% recommend him for any new driver looking to pass 1st time.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school ! I had a really bad instructor from another driving school who would always show frustration and ridicule me for my mistakes, I had a feeling he was just doing it on purpose. So I booked a session with Mutual driving school, the instructor was really nice, we went on a 1 hour drive and the instructor said that I can drive really well and that I just need to polish up on a few things, he was really supportive, his feedback was clear and he was very nice. I've only had 1 session so far, but from what I can say, these lot are amazing. Well organised and structured also with regards to bookings, payment etc. Highly recommend for sure!

Fantastic experience: Matt was my instructor for almost a year. I had no experience in driving before hopping into his manual car. I was nervous and everything, never saw myself getting the hang of clutch control and nerves. Matt has been absolutely sensational. He builds you from the ground up relentlessly, I feel so confident behind the wheel and whenever I have something that I don't feel confident in Matt highlights it and focuses on it during lessons to refine it. I could have not asked for a better instructor. I would recommend mutual driving school and if you get Matt as your instructor that's a bonus!

Fantastic experience: The journey wasn’t easy but Yusoof Mohamed Vai never let his hope down from me. When i failed first time it was too close to pass but its the fate i didn’t passed. Then after that incident Yusoof Vai taught me some great lessons. Keep your nerve calm, stay focused , know ur surroundings and that way you can get what u deserve. He is critical and wants the best for you as a learner so he never shys away when you make a mistake and also gives you tips that can be used once you've passed and started driving by yourself. Fantastic experience: I am very grateful to my driving instructor, Niki. He helped me quickly and effectively correct habits that are unacceptable for the driving test. Niki explained exactly what the examiner expects to see and how to best demonstrate it. In just 6 lessons, he fully prepared me for the test, and I passed with only 3 minor faults. Fantastic experience: I started learning manual driving with my amazing instructor, Naadira, just two and a half months ago. I had to urgently switch from another driving school because my initial instructor was inappropriate, and I was feeling pretty low and unmotivated about driving. But then I found this driving school with glowing reviews on Google, and it gave me some much-needed hope! Even though it wasn't in my residential area, I reached out through their website and email for a trial lesson. They assigned me to Naadira and I immediately felt at ease with her. I shared my bad experience and my worries about the test since I didn’t know many maneuvers or road conditions well. I was really unsure if I should even continue with the test. One of my biggest challenges was unlearning the bad habits I picked up from my previous instructor. Naadira was so patient and worked incredibly hard with me to fix them, focusing on making my driving safer. She was always there to encourage me and gave me the strength to move past my previous bad experiences. I loved her teaching method, especially driving a LOOOOOOT on busy main roads to get used to different conditions. We worked on a very tight schedule aiming for my test. And guess what? I passed my practical test on the first try at Tottenham! I couldn’t have done it without Naadira!! I’m beyond grateful for her teaching and support, helping me through this tough period. Now, I love driving and am determined to keep improving. I HIGHLY recommend reaching out to this driving school. I believe all the staff are just as amazing!!!! James was 10 to 15 minutes early for every booking (15+ sessions), was experienced, patient, and would also give his full attention to help me become a safer driver. In the end, I passed my test in Barking on my first attempt. Would (and have) recommend to anyone!

Negative experience: The driving instructor was punctual, patient, and friendly. However, the driving school's policy on cancellations and rescheduling is excessively strict. Charging £35 (full price) for rescheduling in advance is unreasonable, especially for students who have been consistently attending lessons for months. It is particularly unfair to penalise a customer for falling ill or needing to reschedule due to an important work commitment. Personally, if you don't have a regular 9-5 schedule, I wouldn't recommend booking with this school, as there is no flexibility. When I shared this incident with my friends, they mentioned that at their driving schools, if they needed to reschedule for another time on the same day, the school would simply send another available instructor instead. Very poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Having not driven for the best part of 10 years (as well as moving into London where the roads are busier and there is a greater mix of driving styles) I’d been quite tentative about getting back behind the wheel, especially with a little one on the way. After only 7/8 hours or so with James I was fully confident to resume driving again, and I’ve no doubts I would’ve required more time with any other instructor. James is incredibly knowledgeable, precise and really constructive with all feedback.
