Gordano Motorcycle Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Paul, Matt and Tracey took me from a novice to passing my Mod 2 in just 6 days of riding. Their care and expertise, and accommodation of my specific needs was top notch. I would happily recommend them again, it was a pleasure riding with them.
Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT training with Paul today. Absolutely enjoyed my training with gordano motorcycle training in yatton. Decided to do the evening class plus the training day as a new rider just to cover all bases and thanks to Tracey for her help setting up training dates to suit myself and having to reschedule my training day at short notice to make sure I could still complete my training on a tight schedule I really appreciate the effort that was made to help accommodate me. Evening class was with instructer Matt who knows his stuff and puts you at ease talking about protective riding gear and answering any questions and moving onto the controls on a bike what they do and what daily checks and monthly checks to do covering fluid levels and tire tread minimum. As someone with basic knowledge on bikes I learnt so much more than i expected. My CBT training day was with Paul we started by getting our riding gear sorted and having a general chat about the day ahead. We went out on the pad and Paul instructed me to do basic control of the bike and moved onto manoeuvres like figure of 8, joining main road juctions, emergency stop and I struggled the most with u-turn hitting my leg or not leaning correctly but with Paul's guidance I felt more at ease and kept practicing until I felt confident with it. We went over each manoeuvre a good few times until Paul was happy with my ability without instruction. We then had a nice break for 30 mins and did theory discussion about what i had learnt so far and Paul gave his feedback and asked me questions on highway code. Paul asked if I felt ready to go on the road as he was happy with my training so far. We headed out and I must say Paul picked up on a few things I was doing wrong and each time we pulled over and he explained so clearly how to do correct the issue which was a big help considering the nerves of being on the road and putting everything you learnt into action can be difficult but each time the nerves got less and less and the knowledge was there to improve. I'm not a perfect student and had to repeat a few manoeuvres while out on the roads and Paul didn't missed a beat he knew straight away what I had missed out with my checks and made me aware if I was going to close to cars or too wide round corners so I could adjust myself correctly. Paul's knowledge of motorbike riding is worth every penny I paid for the course. The whole day was enjoyable and the hours flew by. I can't wait to get my new motorbike. I would highly recommend to anyone learning with gordano motorcycle training very professional and knowledgeable absolutely a pleasure to learn with them.
Keith, what can we say, what an amazing review. We are really pleased to hear your enjoyed your experience with us. We all work hard as a team to ensure the best possible training and experiences for all our students and reading your comments today, makes it all worth while. We wish you all the best with your riding and if you ever want to progress to your full licence you know where we are. All the best Paul, Matt, Martin & Tracey.
Fantastic experience: Did my CBT on Wednesday and the instructor was very professional and knowledgeable very helpful gordano motorcycle training I would highly recommend to friends and anyone looking for training to get on the road can't wait to come back and do my mod1 and mod2 with them big thank you to Paul and Tracey and hole team
Thank you for the lovely comments Ashley. We are delighted you had a good experience with us and look forward to welcoming you back to continue your Module 1 & 2 training in the future.
Fantastic experience: I carefully considered which school to pick, because the prices significantly varied for the cbt+mods 1&2. Then, after reading around, I signed up with Gordano MT. The training experience was practical and supportive, and as the result I passed the first time! Now, the trainers are very experienced, attentive, and immidietly adjusting to your weaknesses. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. I must come back and get a cup and do extra courses!
Thank you for your great feedback Igor, we are really pleased to hear you enjoyed your time with us. It would be great to see you for a cup of tea and happy to support with any additional training. Just note our new address as we are now sited in Yatton & have a new site opening in Weston-super-Mare. All the best from Paul and the team.
Negative experience: As an experienced driver with some practice on a 125cc scooter, I didn't really know what to expect of a CBT, so I left it in the hands of Paul to teach me. However, I felt it was being very dragged out, even though he kept saying how good my riding was. At 2.30 I was suddenly told I would need to come back which was quite a shock as I felt completely capable on the bike and was ready to hit the road and we still hadnt done element D and E...in 7 hours. It was difficult to get another day off work, and no money was mentioned to me about returning. During email exchanges to arrange another day, Paul said it would cost another £295 or maybe half a day, but he wasn't sure. When questioned, he became quite condescending and defensive, which I thought was very unprofessional. I decided not to arrange another day and go elsewhere. I went to a different training school who said I had no problem on the bike and couldn't believe I hadn't passed in the one day. My partner, who had paid the cost as a gift to me, contacted Paul for a refund, as I had not received the service he had paid for ( which we all know I would/ should have passed in a day) and Paul accused my partner of being rude, using brow beating conduct and he used the excuse that I had been taught to ride, badly which was completely untrue and that I had serious error in my riding skills. I believe Paul prolonged my training, possibly because I am a woman or as he kept saying, it was too hot to wear his riding gear. We were advised by the other school to report Gordano Motorcycle Training to the DVSA as they really believed I had been misled. Of course, this will all be denied but that was very much my experience. Very costly and sadly not much learning. In your response, you are insulting myself, my partner and another training school. I have been out on my scooter numerous times and I'm not dead, nor did I receive lessons from my partner that inhibited my skills, as you claim. He had already spoken to you about being in the car park as when he turned up at 2pm, he expected us to be out on the practical training. He was surprised to see we were still there but he parked away from us while he finished his paperwork. He certainly didn't watch and wait for us to finish. You also made no attempt to acknowledge him when you walked past him on a break, given it was he that you corresponded with previous. You never said on the day that I had balance issues or any issue with manoeuvres. I believe you let element C run on far too long then told me far too late in the day that I'd have to return. We both agreed to leave 'early' due to me having to return. We paid for a 1-1 and it's not about being gracious or otherwise. I had no issue with your training. You clearly have experience but given this acute awareness you say you have, you weren't aware this day. I do believe it was dragged out and I do believe, along with other professional trainers, that I was at a competent level that your prejudice failed to see. I have moved on from this, but it needs to be said that you can't throw insults around the way that you have and I feel that it is you that needs the grace to deal professionally with a complaint.
Sarah. We have already replied to your partner Nic Cooper, he did all the talking and left a review here. We recognise you believed that you were at a different level than you expected, Nic Cooper was very sure about that. Please don't blame us, the DVSA or anyone else. We expected you to do well on the road, but no matter how much driving you have done, it has no substantial bearing, if any, on bike handling skills. With both of you submitting the reviews, makes my point that you were unwilling to listen or accept our guidance and tuition. It even looks like a vendetta or the brow beating you deny. You needed more practice to be safe. You completed Element C at the end of the day and were then in a position to progress further. I / we were completely professional conscientious and dedicated to ensuring that you didn't kill yourself the first time you went on the road. Your course finished at 3.45, not at 2.30 as you falsely say here. You left 'early' at 3.45 instead of 4.30 because Mr Cooper had been parked up watching and waiting for you to finish from about 2pm. He watched and waited, extremely unusual in itself, for about an hour and then disappeared. Watching our students isn't something we allow, hence I sought your permission on that. Element D was to be arranged for your next lesson with the road ride (E) which makes perfect sense as the 2 Elements are directly related to riding on the roads. We'll treat the comment you make about the other school with the contempt it deserves. In my 26 years in this industry I'm very aware of the required standards. My own work as an expert witness, assessing the training delivered by others in the cases of serious and fatal motorcycle crashes, makes me acutely aware of how poor training can impact people's lives. Please be gracious and accept that you were receiving quality tuition to assist you to be safe on two wheels. It's a nonsense to make a claim that we 'dragged it out'. It took you a little longer than some, and not as much as others. If you had come to us initially instead of receiving lessons from Mr Cooper, I believe you would have completed in the day. However, I was having to fix essential errors in your control skills that had been allowed to develop. That took most of the morning and prevented you crashing during the Emergency Stop. We wish you well Sarah, but please bring this to an end.
Fantastic experience: I recently completed my motorcycle training with Gordano Motorcycle and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. From the very beginning, Alan and Paul were incredibly helpful and patient, taking the time to explain each step in detail and ensuring that I felt comfortable before moving on to the next skill. As someone who was new to riding, I really appreciated the detailed and thorough approach. Every lesson was tailored to my pace, allowing me to build confidence gradually. What stood out most was the kind and friendly atmosphere. Alan and Paul made learning enjoyable and stress-free, always encouraging and offering constructive feedback when needed. I never felt rushed or pressured, and their positive attitude really helped me stay motivated. The combination of professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for students’ progress made the whole experience outstanding. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your skills, I highly recommend them for anyone looking to learn to ride safely and confidently!
Alexa, thank you so much for your lovely comments, it is genuinely appreciated. We work hard to ensure all our students have a great experience and are delighted to hear you enjoyed training with us. We wish you all the best.
Fantastic experience: Just completed my CBT, and I must say the team was incredibly professional and humble throughout the process. They really know how to equip you with the right skills and provide valuable tips, focusing on exactly what you need to improve. Highly recommended! If I could, I’d give them 6 stars, 5 for the training and an extra one for Paul, who went above and beyond by kindly dropping me at the bus stop.
Thank you so much for your review Adil. We recognise that in providing rider training, we are delivering a complex service to every individual on a unique level. 26 years and 60,000 training hours into my career has been a vocation that I'm privileged to enjoy. Today, you have warmed my heart. That, as a new road user in this country, with no driving experience, you demonstrated your own humility competence and intellect in completing the course successfully. One thing I have noticed is that our students from India are among the most courteous individuals we teach. Taking you to the bus stop to save you that walk and missing the bus home, was absolutely the least I could do for you. I have passed on your review to Matt and Alan. Thank you again. Paul
Fantastic experience: After passing all modules of a category A license first time, with zero motorbike experience before hand, I can only say a massive thank you to Gordano Motorcycle Training. I had tuition from Paul and Alan and they are both top tier professionals with the patience of a saint! Highly recommend coming here!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us this really lovely feedback. We are really pleased to hear you appreciated your training and learning to ride with us. Wishing you all the best, Paul and team.
Fantastic experience: Amazing, I really enjoyed the Get Cornering course, I learnt so much, lots of real world coaching, some safety, nice roads and coffee. Every motorcyclist should do it. Paul is a fantastic man and coach
Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT at Gordano Motorcycle Training near the end of last year I was a little apprehensive never riding a motorbike before the training from Alan and Paul was fantastic they took it at a pace I was comfortable and really taught me the basics before moving onto anything more complicated. As soon as I completed the CBT I ce back to them for my full license and the training was again fantastic they really take it at the pace you set and there is no rush. If you want to learn how to ride rather than just getting a quick CBT certificate I would highly recommend Gordano Motorcycle Training.
Fantastic experience: A great training school where the team focuses on teaching learners to ride safely :) Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I passed my MOD1 & 2 training with Paul 18 months ago (May22). However, since then, despite riding long journeys everyday to work and home I was still a bit under-confident. I want to be as safe a rider as possible. I decided to get some professional help. As I'd done so much work with this school, it seemed the obvious choice to come back to Gordano. For this course Alan was my instructor. The first thing we did was go into the classroom and talk about all the issues and concerns I was having with my riding and he gave advice on how to address them. We then went out on the bikes where Alan could assess my riding. We stopped to talk after doing each skill/manoeuvre. I felt fully involved in the learning process. We had a small break halfway through and talked about the ride. The final ride was putting everything together and doing more challenging roads at higher speeds. Finally we went back it to the classroom for a full debrief of the day and to address any concerns. There's too much to mention here of everything we did but I learnt a lot, so much I had to write it down so I would remember. Alan was a great instructor, very reassuring on the ride and very knowledgable and I felt 100% safe under his instruction. It was a half day of 1-2-1 tuition tailored to my needs and it was exactly what I wanted. I feel now I can refer to my notes and put them into practice. It's definitely improved my confidence. It is an intense day but it is absolutely worth it. I will be back for sure to do other courses. .
Fantastic experience: Brilliant training from start to finish with Alan and Paul on the Zero to Hero course. Passed Mod 1 and 2 first time. Thank you
Fantastic experience: I have recently competed the new riders CBT at Gordano Motorcycle Training School (GMTS) and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. From the initial contact with Paul where I established that my end target was to achieve my full motorbike licence. Paul was extremely helpful and informative by letting me understand the steps which will need to be completed to help me achieve my goal. With having zero previous experience with geared motorbikes I attended a evening session at GMTS where my instructor Alan went through the basics of a 125 gear motorbike. Due to Alan's relaxed and positive approach at the end of the session I was confident on how the fundamentals of geared motorcycle work. The full day course which included, clutch control, accelerating and braking, performing manoeuvres and emergency stops in the car park, plus on the road riding was achieved by Alan's teaching techniques. His thorough demonstrations and detailed explanations allowed me to build my confidence throughout the day, which resulted me being confident enough in my own ability to pass the CBT. Due to the positive experience I had with GMTS I will be returning to complete the remaining steps with Paul and Alan to achieve my full motorcycle licence. Huge thanks to Paul and Alan for allowing me to start the journey on achieving a life goal of mine!
Fantastic experience: I’ve just completed my ‘zero to hero’ training with GMTS and what a fantastic experience it has been. From initial contact, Paul was very helpful and informative, advising me on what course was suitable for a complete beginner like myself. Safety is paramount at GMTS, which is refreshing as there are other companies out there that will just take your money and sign you off. It’s nice to see a company doing what is right for you and other road users out there rather than just being focused on turnover and profits! I had Alan as my instructor who patiently took me through my CBT, Mod 1 and mod 2. Alan made me feel completely at ease through the whole process and is a top bloke! When you do make a mistake which is inevitable, he knows exactly how to correct your faults and explains it in a way that doesn’t make you feel stupid! He is a brilliant instructor!! In the space of two months (which could have been much quicker if I hadn’t had work commitments!) I’ve gone from not knowing where the clutch is in a bike, to riding a Harley Davidson easily safely and confidently. Since passing my full test yesterday I’ve covered over 80 miles and don’t think I’ve stopped smiling! Huge thanks to Alan for helping me achieve a goal I’ve had for years! All in all I’d give GMTS 6 out of 5 stars!
Fantastic experience: If your local to the area this is the place to go for motorcycle training. Highly knowledgeable staff with a wealth of experience.
Fantastic experience: Did my cbt today with alen, really recommend as alen is very professional and has lots of patience and is very good at explaining things. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Just completed my CBT again after 26yrs off a bike, Paul and Alan made it so relaxed and seamless. Ill be going back in 6 months for my full license after I have had a bit more experience. Extremely helpful and informative gents. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: really good experience and excellent teachers
Hi Conrad, thank you so much. You're exactly the level of young student that we exist for. Your parents supported the learning process and recognised the vulnerability of young riders particularly. You invested your time and effort prior to your course in preparing yourself as best as you could as a new road user, and you completed your CBT course with great success. Do continue with the learning Conrad. Please get in touch if you have any questions in the future. Very best wishes and safe riding. Paul Director and Riding Coach
Negative experience: If you are happy to spend a huge amount of money and time in getting your CBT, then this is the place for you. I paid for the extra ‘half a day’ (in reality, a 2 hour evening session), which I was lead to believe would give me more time and a greater chance of progression through the CBT. We covered elements A and B during this, however, on the full day, didn’t even complete element C before finishing an hour early. I understand that riders need to be fairly competent before going out on the road, but the training here seemed unnecessarily slow and eked out, so that it would be necessary to return another day and pay for exception that learners require a further day/s to attain their CBT- here it seems the rule for everyone. Additionally, I felt patronised by Paul; possibly because I am a woman. He also told us about a current pupil (not on my course) by name, which I thought was an unprofessional breach of privacy. My advice is to attend a different school and get what you go there and pay for. Further to your response, it is unacceptable for you to have published details regarding my engagement with one of your competitors, especially in view of the fact that you have incorrectly stated that my trial session was free- it was not. However, divulging other client’s information, including their names, seems to be something that you, Paul, deem acceptable.
I'm very sorry to read this El, but as Google tells us with such reviews, we have a chance to respond which allows the public to see the full picture. We're really glad to have this chance. Your comments lack context and the 'breach of privacy' to which you disingenuously refer, was during reference to our student reviews on Google and Facebook. As with your reviews, they are in the public domain and not at all private. Everything about the learning process to be able to ride a motorcycle was outlined to you in prior correspondence and during the discussions in your evening class. A link to the DVSA National Standards for CBT for you to read before coming along for your evening class was provided at the outset https://www.gov.uk/guidance/compulsory-basic-training-cbt-syllabus-and-guidance-notes/element-a-introduction Here are the statistics drawn from the motorcycle industry for casualties and fatalities in 2020 on UK roads. In 2022, there was a 5% increase in these figures. 519 riders aged 19 and under were killed or seriously injured, an average of 10 riders a week. A further 568 riders aged 20 to 24 were killed or seriously injured, an average of 11 riders a week. This makes 21 young riders a week being killed or seriously injured. These figures are staggering. The vast majority of these fatalities and casualties will have been riding mopeds and 125 motorcycles on CBT with a provisional licence. The role of my school and the instructors within it, is to maintain and deliver the standards expected by the DVSA. Prospective riders can’t come along and expect to be issued a certificate because they turned up. They have to learn to ride to the required standards and we will not drop below these standards. It is my strong belief after 25 years in the industry, that young rider casualties can be dramatically reduced by delivering the standards required of the DVSA CBT Syllabus. We cannot control what other schools do, that is for the DVSA to monitor, but we know that on average for a brand new rider (with no riding experience whatsoever), it can take 2 days to get to grips properly with a geared 125 motorcycle and go on to complete the road ride to the required standards. The DL196 (CBT certificate), validates a rider's provisional licence to ride on the public roads. The rider is expected to be independent because, unlike a provisional car driving licence, the rider will be unaccompanied and making their own decisions. It is mythical at best and reckless at worst to expect new road users such as yourself, to manage all of this independence with a few hours of riding around cones and a trip 'up the road'. 2017 and 2022; two incidents come immediately to mind. Two riders that came to us for their course decided to go somewhere else because we wouldn't issue the certificates. We proposed they each had further training to be able to meet the standards. They went elsewhere and were issued CBT certificates. Both riders were killed shortly afterwards. The issuing of a CBT certificate and learning to ride to the required standards can be two different things, and the choice of school is extremely important. Above all though El, we have significant safety responsibilities to all of our students, to other road users and to ourselves. At no time will we ever risk their safety or ours to issue “just a CBT certificate”. Learning to ride independently with overall 'safe' decision making is the requirement, whether male or female, and only on successful completion of the learning process to ride is it morally right to issue it. I truly understand your frustration and disappointment and after all, I know that such disappointment and frustration can lead to a review such as given by you. It doesn't though, sway me from making the right decision that was entirely made in your interests. Paul
Fantastic experience: Alan was my CBT trainer for the day and he was concise and patient. I really enjoyed the day even with the relentless rain and would definitely recommend this company and this trainer
Thank you Annabel for your kind words. Well done and please keep in touch. Very best wishes to you. Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience doing the CBT with Alan, extremely detailed and was made to feel comfortable while riding on the road, honestly the best place to learn
Thank you Josh and we're delighted that you achieved the success. Well done and please keep in touch. Very best wishes. Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Gordano Motorcycle Training School (GMTS) provided first class training and support for my A class module 1 and 2 tests. Paul and Alan have acquired huge amounts of experience over the years, not only as bike riders in their own right but also as instructors. The environment they have created is very relaxed and supportive which allows them to cater for new and returning riders of all abilities. As one would expect, during the training I managed to get a few things wrong. Paul and Alan were always on hand to ensure I was safe and also to explain what I needed to do to correct things. The instruction is backed up with retrospective discussions throughout each of the training days, which I found to be hugely useful and a great learning mechanism. On the day of my A class module 2 test GMTS sent five riders in total to take their relevant module 1 & 2 tests. One by one we went out and each of us came back with a pass. For all five of us to pass on the same day is tantamount to the outstanding tuition provided by GMTS. After returning from the test centre I went out for my first solo ride and it felt fantastic. I had achieved something I had wanted to do since a teenage lad. I have to say though, I did notice something on that first ride. There are a lot of riders out there who would benefit by attending a day or two with GMTS to remind them of the fundamental basics and that is to check over their shoulder before turning across traffic! Thank you and well done GMTS
Hi Trevor and thank you so much for your very considered and thorough review. It is greatly appreciated. Very best wishes to you and please keep in touch. Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience with the whole team as I went through my CBT and now my full motorbike license. Was booked in and contacted very easily and professionally. The whole training team made it a fun and very enjoyable experience. They were very calm and patient with me as I had no prior riding experience atall, giving me useful tips along the way and preforming useful demos for some of the areas I found more challenging. They offer some fantastic packages to get you all the way through your training with confidence that your riding skill will be to a high enough level when you go for the various test. I would highly recommend using them. Thanks again Paul for getting me through my licence, I look forward to doing some more advanced courses when I've gained more experience.
Hi Adam, thank you so much for your very kind words. We look forward to seeing you again and I've given your feedback to the other members of the team. I know that they're very conscientious and truly worthy of your comments. Very best wishes and safe riding to you. Paul Dickinson, Director and Riding Coach.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic training, very professional, knowledgeable, supportive and patient I've just passed my full licence with GMTS, which given that I'm a non biker, age 66 and female means they must be good! Many thanks to Alan and Paul.
Hi Tonia, my apologies for the late response to your very kind and thoughtful review. We're absolutely delighted that you achieved your goals and trust now that you'll be riding the countryside on your new bike. Very best wishes and please keep in touch. All the best Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Excellent team and first class training. Highly recommend
Thank you for your kind words Marcus. Please keep in touch with us. All the best Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: I’ve managed to complete my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 all with GMTS and they have helped me to get a first time pass each time! I can’t thank Alan, Mark and Paul enough for all the help and guidance they have given me, and how accommodating they have been when I have had cancelled tests in the recent couple months! I highly recommend to anyone looking to get their license with respectful and friendly training! Thank you guys so much!
Hi Ben, thank you and congratulations. My apologies for the late reply. We trust that you'll be enjoying your new found freedom. Please keep in touch. All the best Paul Director and Riding Coach

Fantastic experience: Just finished getting my A license with the team - great experience all round from booking to the tests. Relaxed environment but helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommended.
Hi there Nik, and thank you so much for your very kind review. Good luck with everything, get along to Weston Bike Night and keep in touch. Paul and the Get Cornering team.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time doing my cbt. Trained with allen and mark both super patient with me and informative. Id never been on a bike before so was a little nervous but plenty of practice and they both taught me how to ride safely. Cannot wait to get a bike and get some practice in and then come back to get my full licence! Paul was very kind as my 1st attempt at cbt didnt go very well and allowed me to come back and try again and im so glad i come back i absolutely loved it! All the team are great and can have a laugh with them but when it comes to training they take it very seriously and are all very professional, would highly reccomend! Will see you all again in the new year Sarah
Hi Sarah, thank you so much for kind words and your review. We were absolutely thrilled that you completed you course so successfully and with such a great attitude to learning and developing the skills. Really well done! Very best wishes to you and please keep in touch with us. All the best Paul

Hi there Tom. Very well done today and thank you for your review. All the best, Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic time doing my CBT. The instructors were really helpful and paid specific attention to each rider. There were only 2 of us on the day which was a bonus as it allowed us to have a lot of riding time and the instructors gave us giving advice and ideas each time we went round l. Would highly recommend this place.
Hi Zac, great to meet you today and very well done! Thank you for your kind words. Keep in touch. All the best, Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Had my CBT today and all went brilliantly, we started on time, went through everything and eventually got to go out on the bikes, it was very thorough and worth the price. When we were on the road I felt independent but also extremely safe going around and getting real world experience, if there was a point where things got a bit sticky, we'd pull over and reflect and it really helped me learn, I couldn't recommend this place enough!
Hi there Charlie, great to meet you today and really well done! Thank you very much for your review. All the best and safer riding. Paul Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Amazing training service. Came here to pass my A2 licence and passed first time. Better than any other motorcycle training in the south west. Highly recommend
Hi Aaron, thank you so much for very kind comments. We all wish you well and safe riding. Paul Dickinson Director and Riding Coach
Fantastic experience: Passed my cbt training today and it was really enjoyable and I had a great time. Paul is a great instructor and I highly recommend anyone considering a cbt,to see Paul at Gordano motorcycle training.

Fantastic experience: Done my CBT with these guys today and they are truly excellent very friendly and considerate. Very thorough and it shows they truly care about what they teach. Thankyou
Thank you Dan! Very kind words and I'm so glad you enjoyed the experience given by the CBT team. Keep in touch. All the best, Paul, Director and Coach.
Fantastic experience: Had a tremendous day with these guys, Couldn’t have asked for more. The whole team were first class but, I must say a special thank you to Chris who looked after me on the day. The training was very thorough but in no way rushed, it was conducted at my pace. Chris was very patient with me and if I was unsure about anything there was the opportunity to go over it again until I was happy. I went from having never having ridden a motorbike at the start of the day, to being confident sand safe on the road by the end of the course. Thank you Chris, highly recommended.
Hi Tony, thank you so much for posting this review. It's a great thing that you've achieved and we hope that the school ethos will shine through in your enjoyment of your riding. Let us know how you get on. Thank you again, Paul, Director and Coach
Fantastic experience: I passed my full test first time. Strict and professional emphasis on safety and riding technique. I had to remember what my nan told me, "you have two ears and one mouth, so listen twice as much as you speak", but if you want to get your riding experience off to a proper start and learn in a safe, professional and positive environment, this is the place for you.
Hi Steve, thank you for your very insightful review. It was great to have you on our course and what a superb outcome for you. Very well done, welcome to our community and we all look forward to seeing you again soon. Congratulations from us all. Paul, Director and Riding Coach.
Fantastic experience: On behalf of my dad Dave: Just wanted to say how grateful I am to Steve for a fantastic 1:1 tuition last week. As someone recently returning to motorcycling after many years, his expert advice gave me the confidence to safely ride back on the road again. Highly reccomend and will be booking my daughter in for a refresher course soon.
Hi Francesca, thank you so much for your kind words. I've passed on your feedback to Steve. Really pleased that Dave enjoyed his course and that he can feel safe getting back on to the roads. Everyone should do it . Happy Riding, Paul, Director and Riding Coach.
Fantastic experience: Just passed my module 1 today and I must say what a pleasure it has been working with the team at GMT. I last rode a 125cc bike some 27 years ago on a provisional licence so was apprehensive to say the least. My initial interaction was with Rob who was great and helped me get the course booked, then I had a chat with Paul who runs the centre (International HQ) who put my mind at rest. On the day I met Paul then onto Steve (trainer) who was excellent and got me on a Honda 600 and ensured I had trust in my abilities and most importantly balance. Throughout the 3 1/2 days I was under his tutorship with interjections from Paul and the highly experienced Chris (trainer). They gave me confidence in my riding abilities and of course the bike. Whilst the training is no walk in the park they teach you to ride properly, if it’s completed incorrectly they will help you until it’s right. Don’t get me wrong, you will have to work hard but trust me if you want to ride a motorbike this is the place to come for your training. They are experts in what they do. Put it simply, they give you self-belief, combine that with hard work, it will always earn you success. Top team! Roll on Module 2 training in a few weeks…
Hi Stuart, thank you so much for your review, it is greatly appreciated. There is much I can take from this as I see the school develop. Mostly, though, my overriding pride I take is the way that you and many others refer to the 'team'. We're often even described as a family and in my 23 years in this industry, for me, they are the most powerful indicators that Gordano is growing into a formidable school of learning for all bikers, and that we are most definitely all pulling in the same direction. Ultimately, on bikes, we have a responsibility to ourselves and to our own families, to enjoy this exciting experience of riding and to continue our development as individual riders. We do our very best to make this happen and it is rewarding for us all to receive such feedback. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Had the best day getting my CBT with Chris. A nervous learner I was soon put at ease by Chris and he was very patient and understanding while building my confidence. Highly recommended.
Hi Claire, thank you for this and congratulations. It's great that you made the step forward you've long wanted to make. Paul
Fantastic experience: I contacted Gordano Motorcycle Training as I really wanted to finally get my full bike license, and hopefully before the summer. Rob who was my initial contact was super fast at getting back to me and within a few days of contacting, he managed to arrange me to be on the direct access course within a couple of weeks, with the my mod 1 and 2 at the end of the weeks training. During my training there was a need to change some things around and again Rob was on it straight away and within an hour the matter was resolved. I never met him whilst there but he was like a super efficient ninja in the background. The first person I met when I was there was Chris, who took me through the big bike conversion day and his calm, friendly nature really helped to relax me into the training. During the week I really felt he was interested in how my training was going, and as clearly skillful rider himself, he gave some great advice and support on how I could improve my riding in relation to the things that had been mentioned to me by Paul or I had personally picked up about my riding. I real asset to the team there! And the main trainer for the Mod 1 and 2 is Paul. An extremely experienced rider and instructor who could look at your riding and offer fantastic insight into things that need to be improved. His focus is on your safety, and whilst I initially came to the training to 'just' pass Mod 1 and 2 (which i did first time with these guys!) I left realising, among other things, that riding a big bike takes a lot of thinking and patience, it can't be rushed. The weeks training is tough! there is likely to be times where you feel very physically and emotionally deflated but the feeling after you've passed makes it all worth it, and i couldn't recommend these guys enough. Thanks for everything! :)
Hi there George! It's very kind of you to take the time to write your review, thank you very much! The effort you put in was really effective in bringing about your success and I'm really pleased that our video feedback worked its magic. I'll pass on your thoughts to Rob; unsung heroes are an essential part of ours and your success. Congratulations and thank you again. Paul
Fantastic experience: Just completed direct access course and passed mod 1 and mod 2 up at the Gloucester test centre. The whole course from booking to training was 5 star I couldn’t fault it. Rob was on the ball getting me booked in for training and tests and Paul and Chris were both very professional, patient and friendly with their instruction. I feel the course was money well spent on gaining my license and I was well prepared to take my tests. Highly recommended. I will be booking my advanced training with GMTS shortly. Thanks. Keith.
Hi Keith, firstly thank you very much for your kind words and for booking your course with us. Secondly, congratulations! It was a pleasure to have you on the course and we look forward to seeing you soon. The Enhanced Rider Scheme is the one to book to get you further along towards your goals. Please give Rob a call when you're ready and we'll get you booked in. July is the earliest availability at the moment. Paul
Fantastic experience: I passed cbt, mod 1 and mod 2 (with only one fault!) thanks to Paul's expert instruction. Gordano is not only teaching to pass the tests, but also to ensure that you become a safe rider. Paul gives lots of appropriate, timely feedback, and tailors it according to his students needs. I had picked up some bad habits from car driving (and my 125), and Paul worked tirelessly to help me eradicate them. The feedback is always clear, and while occasionally very direct (but in a polite way), I quickly learnt that this was because safety was always uppermost in Paul's mind -' and that had the benefit of making the learning stick better in my mind. He also provided a lot of wisdom from his experience on the road. I won't forget "Where there's a van, there's a man" and "Only a fool breaks the two second rule"! Rob is reliable and adept at fitting in schedules around peoples needs, and a pleasure to deal with. He was always able to find me something to suit, despite some very challenging times (covid!) Chris is friendly and personable, and has great experience of motorcycling. He really put me at my ease in the paddock, which helped me massively. Since I finished my tuition with Gordano, I feel a much safer, confident and aware motorcycle rider. Compared to the nervous rider that I began as, they have provided me with the correct mindset and skills needed to enjoy my time on the road safely and fully.
Thank you for your feedback James, mine is always the hardest job! :). Have a fantastic year in 2021 and no doubt we'll see you soon! Thank you again, Paul
Negative experience: On the day of my MOD2 test I had paid for a full days training and the test itself. Test was at 10.36 in the morning. Was back at HQ by 1pm. I had been told that I would need to pay for a days training but if I passed my test I’d get some advanced rider training on the way back. I passed my test, but had no such training. I trailed at the back of the 3 of us that went, and was told by Paul afterwards that they would never give advanced training straight after a test. I mentioned that they shouldn’t suggest that then if they had no intention of providing it. I tried to get a reimbursement, as the day started at 8.30 and we were back by 1pm. I got told that wasn’t happening. I had high hopes for these guys as it all started really well, and Rob was great at sorting out dates etc, but this has now left a sour taste in my mouth and so I certainly wouldn’t rush to recommend them to anyone else.
Good afternoon Steve. We're disappointed that you haven't presented the facts or context of our discussions. You have omitted to mention that you were half an hour late for your course having forgotten your driving licence, meaning that we couldn't start until after 9am. We gave you several reminders which you acknowledged about the importance of bringing your driving licence to your test. We can't help that you left it at home. You will recognise that this delay also impacted on the other students' course time as well as your own and of course, our other booked lessons. You were also below the required standards in a number of areas of your riding for an advanced assessment and you acknowledged this in our discussions. It is not true that I said we never give advanced training after a test, it is very much dependent on the individual's ability and willingness to learn. You were offered an ERS assessment ride after your test if you passed and we are honouring that. I mentioned to you that you had had insufficient training and really needed more time to improve. To assist with this, the advice to you on returning to Clevedon was to listen in and observe the coaching that the other student was receiving and to observe my demonstration ride and commentary. To say that you were trailing at the back is disingenuous. Having failed your test elsewhere on a previous occasion and blamed the examiner and the instructor for your failing but passed with us first time, it really does seem a curious outcome that we are in a no win situation with you. As has been clearly outlined to you the offer of the Enhanced Rider Scheme assessment still stands and that is the agreement that was made when you booked your training. That you weren't ready for the assessment is something you will need to accept, to work on and to prepare. Please keep in touch and hopefully you will recognise the benefits of our advice at a later stage. Best regards, Paul.
Fantastic experience: Recently undertook my direct access with Paul and Chris, & I'm very glad I did so. Despite having many hours on the road over the years they focused on challenging some of my engrained assumptions and helped me to improve on my road riding competence & safety, no doubt about it. I'm v grateful for Thier skills, professionalism and direct approach. They do care for the long term safety of their students, and it's a rare thing these days. You get what you pay for & you're a long time dead if you get it wrong on the roads. Ps.Thanks guys - I'm taking it handy on those roundabouts!
Hi Dave and thank you very much for your kind words. Your sentiments are so true! Paul
Fantastic experience: I have recently completed 4 training days with Gordano Motorcycle Training which led to me successfully completing my Mod 1 and Mod 2 for my A2 licence first time. They managed to fit a schedule in that allowed me to pass my tests 1 day before my CBT expired! Their training is outstanding and I managed to iron out all (almost all) of my bad habits from owning a MT-125 for two years on a CBT. I am definitely returning to complete my full Licence when I turn 24 and am definitely considering their advanced riding course! I would recommend Gordano Motorcycle Training to anyone from a new rider to someone who thinks they know how to ride but actually has a lot to learn!
Hi there Josh, thank you very much for all that you have said. Congratulations, really well done! We look forward to seeing you again. Paul
