Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT training a couple of days ago and can’t recommend these guys enough. Despite my nerves and being frozen to the core, John really put me at ease. It was very thorough, covering everything you need to get you started. I can’t wait to see where this leads me

Fantastic experience: Lightning is right. I had my CBT and theory already but had failed my Mod 1 previously. These guys are excellent teachers and got me through my Mod1 and Mod2 in a matter of 2 weeks. They have well maintained up to date bikes and while they may not be the cheapest are not overly expensive, I’d say the price is about right. Overall I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT on Friday 13th September at Stourbridge. I had a great day despite being very nervous to start with having never ridden before. Steve was awesome, made me feel very relaxed on the road ride and was very encouraging. He encouraged me to come back at some point to do my full license and I think I may just take him up on that.

Fantastic experience: I had an urge early in the year and was looking for motorcycle training and seeing lightning being local and having very good reviews I contacted and booked and introduction and was advised to book CBT so then went onto booking that and I was taught by John A,was a long day but everything went well and learned alot,had one years ago but wasn't taught most the things john showed,taught,passed CBT then went onto book theory but had to wait a couple of months for available slot and passed that and went onto MOD 1 training and first time ever on a motorcycle bigger then a 125 I had years ago but actually was much easier to ride then you think as obviously got more weight etc,MOD 1 training was with steve and enjoyed the day as he was funny,wise but blunt with you which you need to help improve and was advised to book MOD 1 test which was great but did book another training session to make sure I was ready and confident and work on U Turn etc that worried me abit tbh,booked MOD 1 test and was at garrets green (Birmingham) test went really well and passed with no minors which was great and felt easier then training if I'm honest,so onto MOD 2 training,had to work on forward planning etc and did book a couple of MOD 2 training and got better each time but honestly thought I wasn't ever gonna get it right lol MOD 2 training was 2 with John A and one with John from Oxford and sometimes making progress was another issue but something I worked on whilst driving my car,had in mind from the start that Worcester was gonna be where I was gonna book MOD 2 test but felt miles away from passing lol i went onto book MOD 2 test at Worcester at 10:14 so then watched youtube videos,spiral roundabouts and drove up to Worcester a couple of times so then came the test and was escorted by steve that was good as he's a cracking bloke,pupil I went with had his test before me and ride there tbh wasn't the best and we both said we'd both fail as didn't feel like it was gonna go well but low and behold he came back with a pass so well done to him so thought it's upto me now and thinking how funny it would be that we both passed even though we both said we'd fail and examiner was drew who seemed professional and friendly and made you feel at ease,went out onto the roads and honestly wasn't nervous at all for some reason and tried spotting as much as could and more then normal due to test conditions,test itself felt like a 10 minute ride round the block and on way back thought 'we're gonna go passed strainer road as didn't feel like 30 minutes+ but no pulled in and felt like I'd done enough to pass as felt a good ride but knew I'd made a few mistakes but hopefully wouldn't be too bad and then the dreaded wait lol 'congratulations you've passed' and I was like omg you're joking lmao had 4 minors which was one's I need to work on which was 2 for appropriate speed as wasn't going quick enough 1 for steering and 1 for undue hesitation which was near the end of test Amazing to have passed everything first attempt which I set out a goal early in the year to do so and knew it was a tough ask to do but we'll happy to have done so and probably couldn't of done it without the help from lightning motorcycle training John A and steve who are both very knowledgeable and professional in what they do and teach and also great people to be around and you want to be taught by people like that,John A probably happy now I'm not gonna take him the wrong route home anymore lmao Not only that but the other pupils who I've met along the way have been good people and glad I met them Took me 7 months to pass but wanted to do it in stages as thought doing a DAD would have been too much for me tbh and wanted to focus on each training/test at a time Really liked how you could contact office via text and ask them to book training/tests as booked for you asap and regular messages if you wanted earlier time etc if you wanted and had an update couple of days before to make sure booking was OK and to check that times etc haven't changed and could contact back making sure was OK

Fantastic experience: Lightning Motorcycle Training in Stourbridge is a great place to learn if you're thinking about taking your CBT or getting your full licence. I did my CBT, and full licence with them. The instructors here are great, they make you feel at ease and explain everything clearly, giving feedback as you learn. A big shout out and thanks specifically to Steve who helped me get ready for and pass my Mod 1, and John whose feedback was vital in helping me pass my Mod 2. I only needed one Mod 1 lesson, and one Mod 2 lesson to pass, and that's a testament to the instructors and learning environment here. I'll be coming back for some Enhanced Rider training when I return to the UK. Thanks again to everyone at Lightning Motorcycle Training in Stourbridge!

Fantastic experience: 4 weeks ago I took a CBT with another company. The equipment, 125cc bike, I was using was faulty. The Neutral gear was showing selected but never did. As a result the instructor had to keep stopping the bike, turning it off and selecting the gear by rocking the bike. This completely crushed my confidence and we never made it off the pad. After sharing this with the instructor at lightning my mind was put at ease and he confirmed I was not at fault. He spent time breaking down absolutely everything from scratch and the day was truly enjoyable. I can not recommend this company enough. They are true professionals and proper bikers. Thank you for welcoming me into the brotherhood and making my experience brilliant.

The staff are polite, friendly, and teach well, helping you to underatand everything before moving on, and any questions you have they are happy to answer and help you be the best you. I had john as my trainer and he went above and beyond with the whole group. I couldnt fault him in any aspect. Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend enough! Did my CBT a few years ago with a different school and had a bad experience so was really nervous it would be the same. Couldn’t have been more wrong! Steve was amazing; patient, supportive and encouraging. Brand new to biking and now feel confident to get out on the road. Fantastic experience: I took my CBT today and I had a really good day. John my trainer was amazing he took plenty of time to talk me through everything we were doing and why we were doing it. I have learned so much in one day. If you’re thinking about doing bike training then definitely give lightning motorcycle training a call. I had great fun on the ride on the road even tho we got very wet. Thanks so much and I look forward to coming back to do my big bike test in the near future.

Fantastic experience: After many months of searching, lightening was the perfect school, got me in and out in a flash for the a2, no messing around, both mod 1 and mod 2 first try, if your going to do a motorcycle test of any kind, I highly recommend lightening, instructors were spot on and extremely helpful, couldn’t have done it without Steve aha ;) be back to get this restrictor off next year

Fantastic experience: After many searches I finally decided to go with lightning and i wasn’t disappointed! My son did his CBT first (age 16) and as soon as his training had finished we followed him in the car and he drove with knowledge that he had learnt from John. John then took me on my CBT and not only was he an outstanding teacher he made me feel confident and comfortable riding. Nothing was to much trouble and I can’t recommend him enough. Then I moved to my DAS training with both Steve and John. Both great lads and I am now fully training and passed my test yesterday. I couldn’t be happier and not only do I feel I had the best training going I also feel I have made some great friends along the way. THANKS LADS !!!

John massively helped me out in areas which needed improvement and gave me the time needed whilst there was 2 other students in training. Fantastic experience: Booked with Lightning on the experienced course (A2 Automatic) which includes 4 sessions of training and both the Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. I passed both tests first time thanks to the expert tuition from the fantastic instructors at Stourbridge - Steve and John. If practical and effective training is what you need, these guys come highly recommended from my experience with them.

Fantastic experience: Instructors at Stourbridge are an absolute credit to your business. Steve L and John A took me through my DAS having completed my CBT at the end of 2022 at another school. They're massively experienced, approachable, patient and good humoured. Thanks to their guidance I was fortunate enough to pass both modules of my category A license first time. If I had to be critical the back office team will constantly text you asking you if you want to rearrange sessions which can become a bit annoying. Overall a fantastic experience.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic people. Helped my daughter pass her CBT and were very accomodating with timings etc and the instructors went above and beyond what I would expect. It was heavy rain when my daughter passed and the instructor lent my daughter a pair of his own gloves 1/2 way round the on road section as her own pair and a pair she had borrowed from the site were both soaked through. Would recommend to anyone - a well deserved 5 stars.

Having never ridden a motor bike before my CBT, they guided me through all aspects required to pass the Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests which I passed at the first attempt. Fantastic experience: Passed my mod 1 and mod 2 first time under Lightning Motorcycle Training. I would 100% recommend training here. Excellent tutoring and training. Most importantly they genuinely want to help you learn to ride properly and be safe on the road. The skills and training that they teach you are very thorough and nothing ever felt rushed. All the staff are all so friendly, from the instructors right through to the people taking calls. Special mention to the legend Steve. The best teacher I've ever had. He instilled a lot of confidence in me and just a great guy all round. Extremely knowledgeable and cares so much that bikers are safe on the road. Fantastic experience: I had a head-start from BCMT. After failing my Mod1 test, I decided to give Lightning a go. I was recommended to go for the expert level course. This consists of one lesson before each test, as I already learned most skills from previous school. Over the phone, lightning's admin team had great customer service skills, which to me is very important. Its not nice to be talked to like you're an idiot, as was my previously school. Contrastingly, the admin team spoke professionally to me at all times. Booking tests was very easy via link sent to me by email. I could have a look at the calender online and choose which dates and test centre suited me with additional advice over the phone. Bikes were clean and in perfect condition. Previous bike I rode felt like I was riding a tank compared to Lightning's nimble machines. Steve my instructor, prepared me well for both tests and was easy to understand. One thing I did not like was when the practical test booking was changed (I understand this is out of Lightning's control), they only send an updated booking via email which you have to read to check for any changes. It would be better if lightning call or text message to inform of the changes. I passed Mod1 test 1st time & passed Mod2 test first time too on 27/06/2023. I most definitely recommend Lightning Motorcycle Training. Thank you Lightning team and much love and respect to my teacher, bro Steve.

Fantastic experience: Not long finished my DAS category A license at Lightning Stourbridge. The instructors have been nothing but brilliant with me and the course was easy to book, efficient and worked really well and I felt confident at each step of the way. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Jumped back into the world of biking with a CBT on Friday. Cannot fault this company at all. Friendly instructors (Lyndon and his parrots!) and a relaxed atmosphere made everything sail by with ease. Definitely using this school for my DAS, and would urge anyone else to do the same!

Negative experience: My son felt pressured as a Complete novice who was put on the carpark with 2 experienced riders who were there just to refresh their paperwork. The one guy had been riding TWELVE YEARS on Ls! He was made to feel like he was holding Them up from going to.the next stage and it made him more and more nervous and brought on anxiety attack. Even when he was struggling with gears As a Complete Novice and told he could try the auto scooter it was made clear he was in a time limit and if he wasnt perfect quickly they wanted Him out of their way so they could continue with rushing through the other 2 just to get Their paperwork. This is Supposed to be a Training course for Novices. Yet he was made to feel in the Way of them rushing experienced riders through. If they didnt have the Time to train him maybe they should have made this clear BEFORE taking the booking and our money. We didnt get all the info about their 'time limits' until After payment and their Clauses that we couldnt cancel if we weren't happy with their strict regime. My son is Not emotional, quite the Opposite as he has Aspergers. But the so called instructors final remark about him buying a Pushbike for a couple of years (oh yeah, that'll teach you how use a clutch wont it?) knocked his confidence so much he came away in tears saying he would never be able to ride his motorbike A driving instructor wouldnt be allowed to treat a Student with such impatience, why does a payed Riding instructor feel they can put such pressure on a novice to keep up with Experienced riders and if he wasnt good enough or quick enough to pick things up they could just kick him off the course?! Wish I'd gone with BCMT as they actually Train novices Patiently and will even spread the course over a second day if they feel the Learner needs more time!

Fantastic experience: An EXTREMELY smooth and positive experience from start to finish. Bikes and insurance provided. Wide variety of training slots and different trainers. Having a different variety of trainers, I found, gives a very good and blended training experience. For example, the first trainer I had put me as the lead bike or to follow the other trainee, while he always followed at the rear, whereas another trainer went in the middle of us and I could then observe a professional’s riding style, attitude, and positioning on the road from the back of the group. Groups were never more than 2 trainees. Steve, though, was with me more than any other instructor, and I found his style fitted perfectly with my learning style, and also enjoyed his sense of humour. Messaging or calling the main office was always EXTREMELY responsive and friendly. If I had the choice again, I’d still choose Lightning over anyone else.

Fantastic experience: Honestly big thanks Steve you helped calm me down and get me on the right path by filling in the rough patches and with his advice and getting me feeling super confident on the bike I passed my mod 1 and 2 both first time! I’m gonna be getting my MT07 insured and hopefully start a new journey and I may even return to get my full license in two years. Fantastic experience: They are a fantastic company to take your motorcycle training with and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Right from the outset of my enquiry they listened to what I needed (DAS) and tailored their training course to suit my time constraints and previous riding experience. I had previously messaged the other local schools and felt like they just looked at me as a money making exercise and didn’t really pay any attention to how I needed this thing to go, so I was pleasantly surprised with both the quick response I received from lightning and their willingness to get me ready for my test in the very short time frame that I had. I went from CBT to Mod 2 in just 7 days (actually it was only 4 if you count the total days I spent with them). I have to say that their instructor Steve is an absolute gem , he made the whole experience enjoyable, giving the advice and confidence where needed without making it feel like you were back at school. I know they are relatively new to the Midlands area but don’t let that put you off, they get stuck right in, teach you incredibly well and don’t take you for a ride financially.

Fantastic experience: Did a DAS course with Lightning in Stourbridge. Big thanks to Lyndon who I did my CBT with and Steve who I did my Mod 1 & 2 training sessions with. Passed my Mod 1 first time and passed my Mod 2 first time today! Have always wanted to go for my full unrestricted bike license at some point and now it’s happened! Awesome instructors, great bikes, loved every moment of the training. If you want to do anything from CBT to full A license, this is the place to go! Good prices too

Fantastic experience: My experience with Lightning has been exemplary from start to finish. After having my test cancelled twice due to the weather, I am proud to say I finally passed my Mod 2 with them. The instructor, Steve, was patient, professional but above all, friendly. He's stern but fair and teaches you not only how to ride a bike but to ride one well. On the frosty day of the 8th of December he made sure that the test centre was still open and made an assessment of the road to make sure it was safe for us to ride out to Wolverhampton. Negative experience: I've been failed to the training part in which the instructor must show you even 15 times to understand,not even taken on the road ,plus they put you to sign two disaimers so that you can't complain about your bad training.They book me and 2 more people in that day so that the instructor can fail one , because he is not legally allowed to ride on the roads whit 3 people at once by law and also he will not do 3 -4 hours on the road with those 2 people and come back for the single one to do also whit him 3 -4 hours of training on the road. Don't recommend, look elsewhere for another school.I book to other school who take 2 people per day for this training. It is an training after all not an test!!! Must be offered in full until you learn

Fantastic experience: Booked my CBT today and Lyndon was an excellent tutor. Explained everything clearly and easily. I also enjoyed my ride around at the end. This has now given me the confidence to carry on with the direct access course. Thank you, I would definitely recommend 10/10

Negative experience: The refund policy is absolutely atrocious. I waited near enough 3 months for the refund and at one point I had been told that the person that deals with the finances is away and they were the only one to deal with the refund. I admit it was down to myself for cancelling the session but in the current situation with the cost of living the company needs to refund as soon as possible. Also they deducted £65 from the total amount, which was stated in their policy. I decided to go with another well established driving school (BMW) and the service provided by them was fantastic and was able to pass and obtain my full license.

Fantastic experience: I had two introductory lessons here - one with Lyndon and one with Steve. I am a complete novice and at 60 years old, everything take a little longer to sink in!! However, both instructors were extremely professional, patient and helpful, and made me feel at ease and built my confidence. I then completed my CBT course with Lyndon and have to say that he was extremely thorough in ensuring I understood each stage before moving on. Thank you Lyndon and Steve for getting me this far. I will definitely be back for further training. I would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Booked a novice course with lightning to take me through to my full A licence from no experience, the whole team are very knowledgeable and know exactly how to get you feeling comfortable and confident on the bikes, Steve Lucas at the Halesowen branch was especially good at the 650cc motorcycle training and was quick to correct any mistakes and keep you riding safely!

Fantastic experience: Lightning Motorcycle Training is a very well-organised and professional place, yet the staff are still friendly and approachable. I was there recently for a CBT renewal, but the other student who was with us was new to riding and Lyndon's approach to teaching helped him to progress quickly, while getting a thorough summary of all the necessary information. Lyndon was extremely knowledgeable and delivered the course smoothly and efficiently (as well as knowing when to have a laugh). Quality motorcycles can be hired for use on the course and some safety gear is available. Pricing seems very reasonable. Safety was prioritised at all times. Basically, I can't fault them. Thanks to everyone there!

Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT course with Lindon in Stourbridge. Lindon was fantastic, thorough and really supportive. I was really nervous but felt really safe, especially on the road. While not strictly pass or fail, some people are asked to leave before the road section if they are not deemed safe to ride. Learning here guarantees quality and safety. Couldn't recommend it more :)

Fantastic experience: Passed my cbt yesterday with Stourbridge lightning motorcycle training ...lynden was my instructor i was nervous and worried but absolutely amazing instructors really helpful clear and encouraging . Lynden and steve top blokes really lovely cant thank them enough ...i have my frreedom ...thankyou guys ❤ definitely recommend doing your test here ..thorough training to keep you safe ...not just everyone passes .. safety is their priority but with really helpful encouraging training . Fantastic experience: My experience with lightning motorcycles was phenomenal and the instructors are the best you can get. Steve & Lyndon were very clear when explaining the instructions so that I understood everything that was going on and made the experience very enjoyable while we were learning. There communication skills through emails & phone calls were great too! They will give you a call or email if any earlier lessons or test pop up. 10/10 for me and highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Completed my cbt training here with Lyndon, he is a fantastic instructor, very patient and encouraging, he gave me plenty of time with things I was struggling with and also allowed me to move on to another part and come back to the part I was getting frustrated with. He was the perfect amount of firm but fair during the training, and offered really good advice in order to do his best to get me through the course. Overall very pleased with Lightning Motorcycle Training, would definitely recommend and will be going back for any further training I require :)
