Fantastic experience: I am extremely happy with my experience at Fatboy. I have done two CBTs with them and more recently my A2 licence, all of which was efficient and enjoyable. I did one lesson and one test with Fatboy after a 6+ month spell without riding and fortunately passed first time with no minors. Huge thanks to Ady and the rest of the team for guiding me through things and giving me the confidence to pass. They always make go at your pace and not theirs - whether you’re you need a bit more help or are picking things up quickly. I couldn’t recommend Fatboy enough.

Fantastic experience: Came to Fatboy a year after a bad experience with another bike company; I first had Rachel but due to confidence issues (Rachel was lovely) I was unable to complete my CBT that day. I came back at a later date with Adey who was amazing, so incredibly patient and took me from a crying mess to smiling, laughing and excited to come back and finish. Today thanks to Adey I completed my CBT, couldn’t recommend them enough to anyone who will listen!! Thanks again Adey!!

It was the first time I rode a manual motorbike and they really took the time to support me when needed. Fantastic experience: Had a private half-day lesson with Adey, as I was struggling with my own confidence on the bike after having done my CBT with another provider. He was patient and supportive and I actually had so much fun! It reminded me why I wanted to ride in the first place. I rode home at the end of the session grinning from ear to ear and have since been out for a 40 mile ride with my husband, and done a dummy run to work and back on my own! Will definitely be back in touch with them if I decide to go for my full licence!

Fantastic experience: Fatboy were very quick to get me a DAS course booked as i had a bit of a deadline. I turned up expecting a fairly regimented process but was happy to find a very relaxed friendly and individual service. Rachael was superb in providing a good amount of training each day, but not too much that it became overbearing. The results speak for themselves as by the end of the week I passed both MOD 1 & 2 with flying colours. I'm very grateful to everyone at Fatboy, thank you so much, but a really big thank you to Rachael.

Positive experience: I completed my CBT with them a few months ago and they were very good at teaching you for the CBT, however I found that the instructors were very unprofessional at times and made me feel very me uncomfortable with some of the comments made

Fantastic experience: Another great course from the team at Fatboy. did my CBT last year and went back last week to complete my DAS course. Rachael was great. Gave me lots of confidence and ensured I was ready for my MOD1 & MOD2 tests (which i passed :-) Regardless of the tests, I had a great few days on the bike. Thanks Team Fatboy.

Negative experience: I heard this is a family business and they are basically robbing people by making them fail the exams. I asked what we need to do to prepare for CBT. I have been notified that theory test can be done after CBT, however I was not aware they will ask for Highway Code on CBT test day. My husband already has motorbike experience he has been riding bikes for 3 years. Everyone on that day had failed exams from other category too. I have been told I will pay £100 to resit. And when I wanted to rebook they asked for full price. I feel I have been robbed and that they are dishonest.

Fantastic experience: Got my CBT with these guys, as did the other two lads going through on the same day. Tuition was appropriate and well paced. The CBT is not an auto-pass, you do have to show enough competence for the instructor to sign you off so other reviewers complaining they didn't get it take with a pinch of salt.

Negative experience: This organisation is looting the money from all first time cbt takers. Even if you know the driving you won't get cbt for first time. They will find some excuse for failing you. They didn't even conducted a road test and said they are not confidence even if you do all other modules okey. Don't join here if you want to take cbt for first day. They will certainly wants more money from you.

Fantastic experience: Helped my 17 year old daughter pass her CBT. She was a complete (and slightly nervous) novice on a scooter but the team at Fatboy helped her pass the requisite course. Lovely bunch of dedicated and patient motorcyclists.

Fantastic experience: Started with no experience of riding a geared motorbike and I was a bit naive. Completed my CBT and mod 1 on the bigger bike. Just got to retake my mod 2 as I failed it the first time which was my fault. All the people were brilliant, especially my instructor Rachel. She put in extra time with me on the second day which she did off her own back without me asking. She always made me feel safe, especially when I first went out on the road. I’ve gone from zero, to a safe confident rider in a matter of days and that speaks volumes for the training given. Remember the instructors have our lives in their hands and do a fantastic job at keeping us safe. If you don’t get the results you expect straight away don’t take it out on them! They are only thinking of our safety.

Fantastic experience: Done my CBT at the Hedge end site on Saturday and by far it was the best CBT I’ve done, the instructor Rachael was fantastic she put us at ease and gave good instruction makings easy to understand. I look forward to doing my DAS course with them in the near future. I would highly recommend going to Fatboy motorcycle training.

Negative experience: After I failed the first cbt for my lack of knowledge fatboy encouraged me to come back to finish the last bit of module with them. When I did return it wasn’t friendly they seemed look for any excuse failed me again. I don’t recommend

Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT with Rachel, she was a fantastic instructor. I'd never ridden before, everything was explained well and geared towards the students' levels, and she was very encouraging and confidence boosting. I'm sure I'll be returning for my big bike licence at some point.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT after 20 years away from motorcycle riding and use to driving a bus the staff wee so amazing and helpful so laid back and giving professional advice can't recommend enough my sister in law is doing her CBT tomorrow as I told her it's great place to learn even though we live in Salisbury thañkyou to all at Fatboy training Matthew vincent

Positive experience: Passed my CBT test with Rachel back in June 2021. She was fantastic. Got my theory done and then tried booking in December 2021 got a reply when I replied to the email got no reply. Then I followed up with a phone call. Then got told they would contact me in April or when a slot came up back in January 2022 last year, never heard from no one then tried booking a couple of more times with there website got a reply I replied then no further replies then tried Facebook messenger a couple of times no replies on there either. Hopefully I can find somewhere else before my CBT runs out. Shame really as I enjoyed doing my CBT with these guys. Don't want to be to negative as these guys do provide a brilliant experience with riding. Just wished it was easier to get a response.

Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT course today with Adey. Fantastic all round experience, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a relaxed atmosphere to learn in. I'm gonna go back there when it's time to do my training for bigger bikes.

Negative experience: Not really happy with the service, we didn’t complete the CBT in one day and asked to book another session for £100. Poor time management. After a little research, i found out that this happened to other people as well. Should have gone to another training school.

In the start the lady tell very thing is fine when you finish and come to the traning center so in the last she tell me you fail and you have to pay 100£ .it’s means you guys just collecting the money

Fantastic experience: Just successfully passed my MOD 1 and MOD 2 after completing my 5 day DAS course. Jack was friendly, a great teacher and lots of good laughs! He made sure that I was always comfortable and confident and was very specific and helpful on any mistakes I was making or even had the chance to make. Even the other staff such as Rachael were helpful even though they were not training me as she left the cones out for me after she ran CBT training so that I could have one last practice for my MOD 1. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Negative experience: Shocking! Save yourself time and money and book in with Phoenix in Fareham. I had no riding experience going in to my cbt. Started about 8am, got on a bike around 10am, told at 12pm that I am not ready to go out on the road and that the instructor needed to finish by 3pm so I need to book a continuation course. I tried to book the continuation course but was told to phone up because nobody at the centre can book that, nor did they know how much it is.... After calling the number they gave me, which went to voicemail, I cut my losses and booked in with Phoenix. They were excellent and didn't make me sign a declaration that I would have to pay £500 if the bike was dropped at any time, as was the case with Fat Boy. A hugely unprofessional experience which just seemed to have one aim: fleecing as much money out of the learner as possible. £150 really poorly spent on my end.

Fantastic experience: I had an absolutely fantastic experience doing my Direct Access course with Fatboy MCT. I had a unique experience due to very unfortunate circumstances which meant I had the pleasure of learning under each of the DAS instructors: Steve, Jack and Rachael. All of whom were fantastic instructors - true bikers, not just people doing a job. There's a really nice laid back atmosphere to keep you comfortable if you're anxious like me and allow you to learn at your own pace. There's a lot of emphasis on having fun whilst still being taught everything from a safety focused perspective - I don't know how they managed to make the learning feel so effortless! Thank you Steve and Jack for such enjoyable training days. I want to give a special shout out to Rachael who took me through my final training day and two test days - I passed Mod 1 first time and Mod 2 second time. Not only was Rachael a fantastic motorcycle instructor but she went above and beyond in helping me deal with mental health issues which were standing in my way, and so I left with not only a license and confidence in safely riding but also with a genuine impact on my overall life as well. Thanks again for everything Rachael - you were invaluable and I couldn't praise you enough! Thank you also to the admin team for dealing with my bookings and phone calls with that same approachable Fatboy style. Can't quite put into words how good my experience was, and I would have no hesitation in giving the strongest recommendation. Thank you and hope to see you around! :)

Fantastic experience: Really friendly and great bunch. Thorough CBT training for beginners to experienced riders.

Negative experience: I had a very similar experience to the other guy giving a 2 star rating to Fatboy MCT. Didn't pass my CBT the first try. I have never ridden a bike before so I had confidence issues and wobbled a little at times, which is not something you want on the road. The other reason I got flunked is because I drove off too fast around 'bends' at practice so I was never taken out on the road and my trainer ended my training around noon. ( I drove fast from the pretend bend because I wanted to get back to the training position fast btw and did tell them, but oh, well..). So I was suggested to rebook a session to do element E entirely and redo 2 parts of element C. Which I really wanted to and was looking forward to so I did call to rebook it a week later after I practiced enough: I was given a date over the phone and was told it would be around £110 to do the above. I waited 3 days for the email with the details and confirmation to arrive, called around 3 times a day, left a voicemail, but never received a callback or the email. It feels petty to leave a bad review in general and I did appreciate Rachels advices and reasoning for her not letting me have my certificate yet, but the treatment I received after was a little offputting and seeing it is not the first time I just wanted others to be wary. Negative experience: Not impressed with this place at all. Left them outside in the cold in the morning. Not enough time on the road and didn't give the boy a chance to go buy his lunch. Spent my money elsewhere and he had a much better experience. If you are thinking of booking I would advise using the local competition based at the submarine museum. Do your research, im not the only one who has this opinion...

Fantastic experience: My training went well, i really enjoyed it, eventhough i was a bit scared and not confident at all that i am able to complete the course. My trainer, Jake/Jack Peackock was really understanding and helpful, he gave me confidence and his instructions were very clear, he was very patient throughout the whole day, and didn't give up on me. I can only thank him the time he spent to convince me I'm capable If i will get enough confidence to do DAS training, i would be happy to come to Fatboy team

Fantastic experience: I had a CBT at Croydon many years ago and they rushed me through, I did not feel I was ready to hit the road after the test. I decided to do a new CBT and found Fatboy motorcycle training. I had Angie as my trainer at Hedge End, she was just great in her teaching methods. I left with confidence and felt happy to ride on the roads on a motorcycle. The course venue had no toilet, so the bushes had to do. Not great for women. Plus no food at the venue, there is a McDonald not too far away and other food outlets near by. On our road ride we did stop at a coop. The venue car park area was rather good and lots of room to practice on, with a small hill to practice hill starts. I can’t fault Fatboy training in anyway. Very good from start to finish with friendly trainers who are happy to give you advice and Angie my actual trainer on the day, she explained what you did not do correctly and praised you when you got it right, she also made the course fun. Fantastic experience: Great would go again

Fantastic experience: Booked in for a 4 day DAS course and unfortunately the earliest availability put my Mod2 the day after my CBT expired so I also booked a CBT renewal the week before my DAS course. As it turned out I had the same instructor for both trainings (Steve, you’re a legend!) and luck would have it that the other bloke booked in for the CBT was a no-show. My instructor offered for me to do my CBT on the same bike I would do my DAS (a brand-new Honda CB650R, big brother to my CB125R that I had brought to do the CBT on). This is obviously by no means guaranteed, but the situation was such that it worked out that way, and it allowed the instructor to assess my skills before the start of my DAS course. Both the CBT and DAS instruction were top-notch, the instructor was pleasant to spend the day with, knowledgeable, and a good teacher. I passed my Mod1 with only one minor, which I can only blame on myself for being a bit too keen and missing out the shoulder check leaving the parking bay to enter the testing ground. I passed my Mod2 with no faults. Highly recommend. Great staff, great bikes. Do yourself a favour and book your training with Fatboy!

Fantastic experience: Fatboy MCT were superb from start to finish. I did a CBT with Rachel who helped building my confidence early on. I then had Steve for my DAS course, who was patient, friendly and made the whole thing really enjoyable. Catherine on the admin team also really helped getting bookings sorted at a time when it was quite difficult due to the Covid backlog. I'd recommend Fatboy to anyone - the whole team are great, and deserve their good reputation. You always feel that they just want you to be safe - there's no bravado, just calm, clear instruction and and a good atmosphere. Thanks!

I have done my CBT course with them, went to another training service where I had a bad experience whilst I was trying to get my A full licence so, I decided to come back to Fat Boy, again. Fantastic experience: What an amazing bunch! Please do not listen to the negative reviews. Trust me, as an ex rider, I know when someone is an excellent teacher. I actually chose this company on the strength of one of thier negative reviews, because someone was complaining they didn't pass their days training, and the response they recieved was basically saying that the reason they didn't pass, was because they were drining recklessly and was not safe to be on the road. That TELLS you that they care about your saftey and won't pass you if you drive in an insecure or unsafe manner. One boy turned up today in tracksuit bottoms and no helmet! It cleary states in the condiitions that you have to wear a minmum of jeans, and bring your own helmet, boots and Jacket for Covid Saftey. He turned up with nothing and was sent home. Trust me, these people do not play with safety. This is the place to train and if you fail, just own it and remember they are only looking out for you. MAKE SURE You wear Jeans or Motorbike trousers, bring Gloves, A Helmet and a protectve Jacket and TAKE YOUR LICIENCE! a screen shot won't cut it. Don't get mad if you fail. People get angry and don't accept constructive cristism. Sometimes you just need to own it! It's for your saftey. Anyway, enough about that, I had a blast today. I have previous experinece of geared motorbikes, so it took me about 5 - 10 minutes to familerise myself with the gears, clutch and bite, then I was good to go! I had Jake giving me instructions in my left ear the whole journey. I got to drive around all the country lanes and listen to a little banter about other drivers (tractors) and mistakes that I made. It was so much fun and will 100% be doing my direct access with them as soon as I do my theory. Racheal is a DAS instuctor, so i'm really looking foward to taking it with her. She has a sense of humour and is easy to talk to. She has giving me some very valuble tips on the Hazard Perception test, which I would never had known, had I not mentioned my issues. I'm much more confident about passing it now. Thanks Racheal. I love people from these sides. People are lovely in Hedge end EVERYONE said hello to me, without promting. I was also high on the fresh air. I'm so over London! This has solidified my moving out of London. I'm done. Thanks Guys. See you real soon! Fantastic experience: As a first time rider I initially had my struggles getting to grips with the clutch control. Fatboy MCT really helped me to understand the bike, and allowed me to successfully and safely pass my CBT. Many thanks to both Angie and Rachel for their great instruction. I’ll be back for my A2!

Fantastic experience: Booked my DAS course with Fat Boy as they were the only place I could find with great reviews and bookings available. Completed my CBT last week and it’s safe to say I’m not disappointed. Mike was knowledgable, patient and keen to share his interest and experience in riding. The bikes are well maintained, the training is in depth and I have the utmost confidence I have chosen the right company to get me through my DAS course. EDIT: Pleased to say I have now completed my DAS course with these guys and passed 1st around. Steve completed all of my training and joined me on the day of my test. He has plenty of sound and solid advice to help you kill the nerves and be as safe as possible out on the road. This course was perfect, no time wasted to fill up they day, it was straight to the point, good routes and a local area to practice all MOD1 exercises. The bikes are all new, low mileage, well maintained, this gives you confidence in the bike so you can focus on your riding. Absolutely could not recommend them more, thanks again everyone at Fatboy , it was a pleasure!

Fantastic experience: Amazing people, very down to earth people

Negative experience: I just wanted to thank you for helping me pass my CBT. That's about where the thanking ends. First of all, I wanted to learn to ride a manual bike. The fact that I passed the CBT on an automatic scooter, and I own a manual bike, does not help me in any way. As I've stated before booking, I never rode. The fact that I've been given the 09 plate bike that does not go into neutral well...also does not help. So...during the "CBT training " , I've only gone around the car park on a scooter for a few hours, after that had the riding in traffic with a 50 cc scooter , and , after passing, another half hour with the same broken bike in the parking lot. I never changed into 2nd gear, I can't properly control the bike with the clutch...the only thing that I am comfortable with is starting the bike and riding a bit in first gear. I don't think the course has reached it's intended purpose. I basically paid 130£ for a piece of paper that tells me I know the road signs. Ps...already knew those, since I'm driving since 2002. I've seen the Google reviews that you guys had, and I really hope I was the unlucky one....otherwise....you're just handing out suicide certificates

Fantastic experience: Son just completed his CBT, loved it

Negative experience: Done a CBT with them recently didn’t pass unfortunately, unhappy at the fact my training was stopped at 12pm, yet I paid £130 for 8-3pm, not an issue about not going out on the road as I know they have no choice for this matter but to cut it off at 12pm then not give me extra training on the parts I need I thought was unfair. Have to pay to go back which I won’t be doing, after to speaking to other people it seems this won’t be the first time this has happened which is a real shame as they have one of the most recommended CBT people. Hope anyone who goes here has a better experience than I did. Have a good Christmas fat boys.

Negative experience: Poor behaviour witnessed by this company today (12 Dec 2020 at approx. 13:15pm). I can't comment on the business itself, but today experienced dangerous and threatening behaviour as the front of the 3 motorcycle sped around a corner into a side road that I was already SAFELY crossing (and over half way crossed). The front motorcyclist (supposedly the student) came very close to me and shouted abuse towards me. I suggest your company revises Rule 170 of the Highway Code, and if this was a student (which I appreciate is likely) or member of your team that you have a good look at yourself, as do any potential future customers. Not impressed guys with the shock today, but as mentioned, may have been outside the teachers control - but wanted to flag. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT with Fatboy and in all honesty it was the best experience ever I'm so glad I chose Fatboy I was trained By a lovely lady called Rachael who was really Bubbly and nice everyone who works there are really nice and made the day really fun and I have picked up some new skills and learned alot for a person who is new to bikes as long as you listen and take on board everything you'll have the best day ever highly recommend Fatboy motorcycle training will definitely be back in two years time to retake the cbt thank you guys for all your help and preparing me and giving me the toolbox to add onto.

Negative experience: ⚠️⚠️Avoid at all costs apsolute rip off merchants, will keep you 5+ hours then say your not competent or getting tired ask you to come back another day at an extra cost of £95.00! You can not fail a CBT it measures compantancy but they fail to finish the course! My son went with another comoany days later with an instructor that was a police officer and guess what got his certificate! This company are con artists and I will tell everyone I speak to discraceful! ⚠️⚠️

Super relaxed but thorough training environment, finishing off with a 2 hour beautiful ride. I hadn’t ever been on a bike prior and have driven for 12 years ... this has made me want to ride more and more now

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT here on Monday 13th with Steve, and had a great time. Steve and Adie were friendly, helpful and encouraging, and really put me at ease. I really enjoyed the day as well as learning a lot, and I'll definitely be back to do my DAS course soon once I have a little more experience on 125s.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I had a renewal CBT with Rachel and can't thank the lady enough for maintaining a professional manner with some humour to keep nerves calm on such a rainy day. The staff here are fantastic and make you feel welcome and also help boost your confidence when needed. I would highly recommend you come here for your CBT, A1 or A2 or even you full DAS as they know how to treat you like your not a failure when things are tough. Thank you guys and will be back.

Fantastic experience: On Friday 26th June 2020 I carried out my CBT with Steve Parker who was a complete professional. It had been 25 years since I last rode a motorcycle but Steve made the whole experience interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. Fantastic experience: Great experience on DAS, Steve did an half our assessment with me and advised a 3 day course Day 1 maneuvering, Day 2 Mod 1 test, Day 3 Mod 2 test. Steve was an excellent trainer patient, supportive and very happy to tailor course and training to my needs. This was not my first DAS and did it with another company a 18 months ago which was no where near as good as this course which i could not fault and was a totally different experience, no pressure no sarcasm and no audience of tutting know-it-all's. It was like going for a ride with a mate and getting trained while you rode. Completely removed my U-Turn fear and smashed it on the day no problem. Mod 2 was a breeze with the training and confidence i was given. Massive Thanks to Steve and everyone else at Fat Boy. Could not be happier but the I did pass my DAS so I should be. Steve Thank You. I will be recommending you to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: My Wife did her CBT here and the training was good and she had a good experience. Due to lack of time she didn't get to go out on the road and the agreement with them was to email as it is the best form of communication for them. My wife emailed them twice to complete her training but has had no response. We will now go to a company with better customer relations. Update: My wife completed the training with them and was very happy with the training and the experience overall. She said she will use them to do her DAS which I never thought I would get her to do.

Fantastic experience: Passed my DAS first time with Jim, he couldn't have prepared me any better. The whole team are friendly and knowledgeable. The bikes used for training are in superb condition. £500 off a new bike at Crescent Honda also an excellent perk that I sadly wont be taking advantage of. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend for learners as clearly think shouting at 16 good teaching aid as fail to teach basic before taking my son on road and the person reduced him to tears
