Ride On Motorcycle Training Limited: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend Steve enough. He recently got me through my CBT, and I’ll be booking more courses with him soon. His direct approach and very clear instruction ensured that I felt comfortable and informed at all times. Listen to what he has to tell you and you won’t go far wrong at all. Thanks Steve!
Thanks Jake, good luck with your theory! ️️
Fantastic experience: Having had little experience on a motorbike, mainly riding pedal bikes and some dirt bike bits, Steve took me through the 6 day DAS course the day I turned 24 and got me a pass first time! I made a few stupid errors, and it's not an easy course as Steve will push you for everything that you are worth. If you are willing to completely listen to everything he says, and not get too frustrated with yourself while learning, Steve is the man. I'd argue no one knows their bikes better than him and he will not only teach you to pass, but to be a completely competent rider. If you want to pass your test you could probably go to many people, but if you want a high chance of passing it first time AND becoming a proper motorbike rider, you go to Steve. Above and beyond, very talented teacher. Thanks so much for the help! Now I get to enjoy my own CBR600rr on a full license as a free man!
Thanks Jacob, I really enjoyed this course with you and a well deserved first time pass, have fun out there ️️
Fantastic experience: Couldn’t thank Steve enough. Did 3 days training he got me up together and where I needed to be and helped me pass my mod1 and mod2 first time round. Would recommend highly
Cheers Brook, looking forward to seeing you on something exciting next year
Fantastic experience: Steve was a great instructor, no nonsense patient and straightforward he couldn't have prepared me better for my CBT and had me road ready, I thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking to ride or even start riding, He makes a real difference and I couldn't be more grateful for his instructing as I would never have been able to been confident enough to learn a geared bike without Steve's in depth teaching and patience as well as friendly and wonderful demeanour
Thanks Luke, have fun out there, stay out of the snow! ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve has a very direct style of training, but boy does is get results! Thanks for all your help getting my Cat A licence on my first attempt, and all your insights and guidance that not only helped me achieve this but has also made me a much better rider.
No sweat Richie, thoroughly enjoyable course with a first time pass to boot, enjoy the 07! ️️
Fantastic experience: I have completed my CBT test on Sat and what a great experience that was. Considering that I haven't sat on a moped before, Steve made sure I am confident rider before going on the roads. Steve's instructions were very clear and easy to follow. We had plenty of practice to be able to pass our test. 100% happy to recommend to anyone, thank you Steve :)
Thanks Marcela, it was great to help you get on two wheels, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: I have had a full bike licence for many , but after 18 years of not being on 2 wheels I got in touch with Steve and was recommended a refresher course. I was extremely nervous about getting back on a bike but was desperate to, Steve was excellent, he explained everything to me in detail, was 100% patient in my questions and within half an hour I was riding around happily like I had done years ago. Highly recommend to anyone either if your looking to get your licence or just as I done a refresher.
Thanks Toni, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a motorbike instructor, then look no further. You've found him. Steve is the man! He really is the man! Steve was recommended to me by multiple people, they all said the same thing. If you listen to him, you'll pass. And boy were they right! You really do need to listen to him. I've only been riding 4 months on a 125cc (no previous experience) and in the space of 4 days he got me riding confidently on a 700cc bike and through my Module 1 and Module 2 test first time for my full bike licence. Yes, in 4 days! It wasn't easy for me and I really needed to put in the extra work, early in the mornings and evenings on what I'd learnt that day. Steve don't muck about, he's there to get the job done, and he will if you work with him. I'm absolutely buzzing, and now I can go adventure biking all over the world, something I've always wanted to do and I owe that to Steve
No sweat Adam, glad we could work together, enjoy riding the GS with no one in your ear
Fantastic experience: Steve is a very competent motorcyclist, as demonstrated by his ability to hop on my bike and conduct a perfect figure eight, something which I struggled to do before my training package, despite riding for a year on it! I was doing a progressive access course from A2 to full licence, and had a free half hour session for him to assess my riding, he recommended two days of training and then the testing day, which I passed first time with two minors on my Mod 2. The training was done with myself and another, and he was very good at pitching the training at the right level, focussing on what needs to be given a bit more attention. He was also having a laugh with us, which helped to relax us and be smooth with our riding. I would recommend conducting your training with this school, it was a very good experience start to finish.
Thanks Jasper, great to ride with you, enjoy the unbridled power ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is a brilliant instructor, he is very understanding of each individuals needs. Steve never failed to answer any question that I had, I would recommend him to everyone that wants to do their motorcycle test, he enabled me to pass both modules first time. Steve provides an excellent service at a competitive price
No sweat Ethan, see you out there on the beast ️️
Fantastic experience: I hadn’t ridden a geared bike for over 30 years (before there was even a test!) and I arrived with lots of bad habits and without the confidence of the 18 year old I was . Steve was not only informative about how bikes have changed and technology moved on but also extremely patient. His skill demos were clear and excellently executed and he was able to pin point errors and offer constant reinforcement when I finally got things right. His honesty and integrity were balanced with realism and a sense of humour, I can’t thank him enough for his input, help and information about all things motorbike from clothing to styles of bike and coffee I can’t recommend him enough, top bloke passionate about bikes and helping people reach their full potential.
Thanks Patrick, ride the wheels off your new bike, hope to see you soon for the full licence ️
Fantastic experience: I passed my CBT and big bike tests first time thanks to Steve's instruction. The machines are in top condition, his instruction is clear and comprehensive and he doesn't miss anything you do. The whole experience felt safe and controlled, you progress when you are ready and not before. I would recommend ride on to anybody looking to achieve any category of motorcycle licence in the Christchurch and Bournemouth areas.
Thanks Chris, great first time pass and super ride there and back, see you out there ️
Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of learning from Steve for my bike practice tests, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Not only he is the best rider, but made every lesson enjoyable. I apreciate the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. I not only passed my tests but also gained valuable insights and confidence on the road. I highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their riding skills or prepare for their tests. Thank you for everything!
Well done on a super first time pass, looking forward to seeing you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve, a top class instructor and the right man for the job. I had called Steve at ‘Ride On Motorcycle Training’ with the hopes of achieving a full motorcycle license. After a short and informative phone conversation we agreed on a DAS intensive 5 day course. He took on board my previous riding history and ability. (4 years on a 125cc, but hadn’t ridden in almost 8 years). He guided me through a return to 125cc and the renewal of my CBT. From there I was able to transition to a “big bike”. Steve was able to clearly explain the differences between a smaller and larger machine and what I should expect. This made the transition smooth. At all points Steve was able to effectively communicate to me what I should and should not be doing. If there were aspects I couldn’t grasp, he was able to adjust his explanation and tutoring until I got it right. This all came to me being able to confidently pass my Module 1 & Module 2 tests to achieve my full license. Steve will give you all the information and tutoring from his very comprehensive knowledge and skill set. This is no means is it an ‘easy ride’. You need to be prepared to put in the effort, but do that and you’ll surely be rewarded. Don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it.
Thanks Christian, super course and faultless result, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: I had very limited riding experience before starting my 6 day DAS course and on the final day I managed to pass first time by listening and applying all the training and knowledge that I gained through Steve. Cannot recommend him enough
Cheers Joe, outstanding progress this week and a well deserved first time pass, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Steve enough. From the very first assessment, right through to the day I got my full license, every session I had was incredibly valuable. Professional, clear & concise but also fun and easy to get on with - he gave me the confidence I needed. I thought I’d struggle to gain certain skills, but they came so much quicker than I thought. It was all down to Steve’s expertise and excellent training.
Thanks Sam, can’t wait to see which bike you’ll manage to get your drum kit on see you out there ️
Fantastic experience: I approached, Steve for my DAS including CBT training after looking at the google reviews. Initial 30 minute session to attain my level. The CBT on day one, followed by the DAS to obtain my A licence. Unfortunately my confidence was not at the level to take to test on the 700, so 1st attempt on the 125. Although unsuccessful due to a silly error, Steve's guidance gave me the necessary training to take away & grow my confidence. I purchased a 125 for the summer & covered a good amount of miles to build upon the training. Returning to Steve for my 2nd attempt was rewarded after a couple of days training on the 700 & back to test, passing my Mod 1 & 2 tests, achieving my A licence. Steve's knowledge & training is spot on & can help you achieve your motorcycling goals. Many thanks Steve for the expert tuition. Daz-mondo!
Thanks Daz-Mondo,see you out there on something that befits a man of your skill level with muchos BHP (no not the 125!)
Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Steve enough! I wanted to progress to my full A licence so I approached Steve as I heard a lot of good things online. I sat a 30 minute free session so Steve could assess my current skill level and gave me some pointers to work on in my spare time. I then sat a 2 hour session where we focused on the correct way to do clutch control. A step above what I was taught on my CBT elsewhere. I then completed a 4 day direct access course which Steve not only taught me how to ride a big bike but how to ride at a high level. I passed both module 1 and module 2 on my first attempt with only 1 minor overall. A testament to Steve’s teaching. I highly recommend Steve at Ride on to anyone on their motorcycle journey whether sitting your CBT or wanting advance rider training.
Thanks Stuart, really great to see you gel so well with the bigger bike and enjoy the extra power! See you out there ️
Fantastic experience: Did an intensive course with Steve and passed both mod 1 and mod 2 with ease! Fantastic teacher, straight to the point and very very knowledgeable. Highly recommend Ride on Motorcycle Training!!
Cheers Rory, have fun on the 9, see you out there
Fantastic experience: Excellent instructor, having just completed a 5 day DAS course including CBT, passing first time on both Mod 1 and Mod 2 thanks to Steve. Will be sure to return for some further advanced rider training once settled on the new bike :) Thanks again!
Thanks Martin, excellent progress throughout the course, can’t wait to see what you get! ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is brilliant. Very down to earth and a good laugh. Over years I’ve had 4 cbts renewing every 2 years and finally decided to take the big step to the full license. Although riding for 10 years (on a 125) and confident on the road I still learnt something new every session and I couldn’t pass without it. Very professional, Steve does everything he can to improve your riding to a pass standard with feedback to help you ride safely and any tips to help you. Passed first time with his help. Highly recommend!!
Thanks Frazer, see you on the R6 ️️
Fantastic experience: Great training with Steve for CBT. Excellent training area - far better than the corners of car parks I've had to use with other training providers.
Thanks Al, see you out there! ️️
Fantastic experience: A few months ago I set out to get my full motorcycle license. Due to availability, I ended up doing my CBT with another school, but I did book my riding assessment, 4 day training course, and Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests with Steve at Ride On, based on the brilliant reviews. Having experienced another school and instructor on my CBT, I can confidently say, that the training and overall experience with Steve was so much higher quality in comparison. If you want to learn how to ride a bike properly, then Steve is 100% the guy to use. I have, as of today, obtained my full license and can’t thank Steve enough for his approach to the training I received. Cheers!
Thanks Dan, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: Passed my A licence Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time today. Steve is a talented teacher and rider with a great gift of explaining and demonstrating what needs to be done to ride safely and to the required standard. Steve goes above and beyond to tell you more efficient ways of riding and pushes you to get you comfortable for the test conditions. Thank you Steve for your tuition and look forward to meeting up in the future
Cheers Lee, faultless in both modules, exceptional result, enjoy ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is an excellent teacher, who not only wants you to pass your test on the first go but also makes sure to teach you how to ride correctly and learn how to minimise the risks on the road :) My only wish was that I met him before my two other instructors who were not sharing these values.
Thanks Denise, have fun out there, you’ve earned it! ️️
Fantastic experience: I've just completed a four day DAS course with Steve, culminating in a very grateful category A pass today at my first attempt. I am a returning biker in my 60's & found Steve to be a very patient but thorough instructor who prepared me fully for the test. Would highly recommend. Thanks Steve - really appreciate your help. I couldn't have done it without you!
Thanks Simon, can’t wait to hear about your cross-continent adventures ️️
Fantastic experience: I have had several excellent training sessions with Steve, including CBT. As a new rider Steve's patience and professionalism has been great, and really gave me lots of confidence. Great service thank you!
Thanks Sarah, looking forward to the next chapter in your riding journey! ️️
Fantastic experience: I have trained with Steve to pass my CBT and later my A1 license. I had no experience riding a motorcycle or moped and with 6 days of training (including getting my CBT) I was able to pass my A1 license 1st time. Steve is a great instructor with plenty of experience both riding motorcycles and training new riders. He was always friendly and helpful in answering all my questions and providing advice on how I can improve. He is a no-nonsense instructor which is important if you want to pass quickly and stay safe on the road. I was very happy with the experience and I plan to continue training with Steve to make steps towards getting my full unrestricted license.
Thanks Dylan, cracking first time passes all round with no faults, looking forward to helping you do the same on the DAS bikes ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve helped me get on the road with my CBT, and now he has just helped me pass my DAS. He’s a fantastic instructor and great teacher! The test seems quite daunting but in the end was quite simple and he will make sure you’re ready to pass. Would highly recommend Ride On to anyone looking to get on a bike!
Thanks Luke, fault free pass today, awesome job, see you out there ️
Fantastic experience: Very thorough and knowledgeable tuition delivered with a large amount of patience with an old dog learning new tricks! Thoroughly enjoyable day! Derek Harmer CBT 14/3/23
Cheers Derek, I hope to see the both of you out there soon ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is by far the most competent instructor I found during my search for motorcycle trainers. He took me on from me knowing nothing about riding to completing and passing my full license training. His knowledge is vast and his method of teaching not only ensures you know how to ride a bike but ensures you know how to be SAFE! Steve is a GREAT instructor who I recommend to everyone, he to recently taught my son to ride, I would not have sent my son to anyone else, safety is paramount! Thank you Steve!
Thanks Ray, see you both out there!
Fantastic experience: Awesome school! Steve is a credit to his craft! I felt well trained and ready for my test! I cannot thank him enough for his patience... Thank you! See you on the road!
No problem Marc, awesome first time pass, have fun out there!
Fantastic experience: Just completed CBT with Steve. I’d echo what many others have said: Steve is direct and firm in his instruction. He expects you to take on board feedback and learn, it is not simply about passing a test his instruction and focus is about making you the safest and most aware rider you can be from day one. Initially if you are new to bikes, this may be slightly intimidating, but it will become clear that you are in very good hands with Steve, he has very high standards for very good reasons. He is absolutely focused on everything you are doing, and will feed back constructively and honestly so that you learn. I will be going back for DAS once I’ve spent some time on a 125. Thanks Steve for everything, looking forward to getting out on a bike this year and will be in touch re next steps when ready. Cheers Jamie
Thanks Jamie, see you on your new wheels soon ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is a great instructor, I cannot thank him enough for what he did. I have gone from not ever riding a geared motorbike to passing my unrestricted bike course using the 6 Day DAS course first time! Steve doesn’t just teach the basics, he teaches riding skills for life. I would highly recommended Ride On Bikes and get on booking !! 5*
Thanks Jordan, an outstanding performance today and through the week, enjoy the new wheels ️️
Fantastic experience: I did a 5 day (1st day CBT) DAS course with Steve last year. He is a highly competent and safe motorcyclist and instructor. His no nonsense and authoritative approach is exactly what I was looking for. I don't think I quite appreciated beforehand that taking a learner out on a powerful motorcycle is probably one of the most dangerous things anyone could be responsible for instructing but I felt in safe hands that Steve's attitude and approach to training would not allow anyone to attempt anything he was not totally satisfied they were ready for. I passed both my tests first time and felt confident that I would thanks to Steve's comprehensive training, as it was obvious that he was preparing me for riding beyond just the test. I think its worth mentioning that Steve's method of taking students to take their tests in Lee on Solent not only gives them a more varied experience of roads (We rode to Portsmouth and back twice as my tests were separate) but also a more controlled atmosphere to take the test vs potentially riding around Poole in rush hour traffic. I think it was owing to this that I was confident to collect my new bike from 250 miles away and ride it home knowing I already had experience of longer distance riding than just looping round town all week. I would highly recommend anyone interested to do their DAS with Ride On.
Cheers Ben, I’m stoked your first big trip went well, looking forward to hearing about the next one ️️
Fantastic experience: I learned how to ride a motorbike from having no experience to passing CBT, Theory, MOD1 and MOD2 levels and passed my full motorbike licence at Ride On Motorcycle Training Limited. Steve is an experienced instructor, very friendly, helpful, approachable and supportive. He provided an excellent training, skills and advice which gave me a lot of confidence on a motorbike and feeling safe on the road. It was a great and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. Many thanks Steve.
Thanks and well done Daniel, a great result, I look forward to seeing you on your first big bike soon ️️
Fantastic experience: Got my full motorbike license today thanks to Steve at ride on motorcycle training. Really great experience from start to finish . Steve gives clear instructions , good constructive criticism where needed but will also give you good feedback on everything you’re doing right which really helps someone like myself feel that bit more confident and comfortable on a bigger bike . Highly recommend! Thanks Steve ️
Thanks James, excellent result and some great real world riding on the motorway today ️️
Fantastic experience: Couldn't recommend Steve more, done my cbt with him in February earlier in the year then carried on to get my full bike licence a few weeks ago, once again with Steve. Great instructor, extremely knowledgeable. He made me feel safe and confident on a big bike. Went out to buy a bike the other day and done a 100 mile ride back feeling safe and confident thanks to Steve..... once again, Couldn't recommend more
Thanks Sam, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: Well what can I say about Steve, amazing instructor, knows what he's talking about, he won't get you ready for the test, he gets you ready for the life on the bike, teaches you everything he knows, just a really top bloke, I passed my category A licence today with him getting 0 minors in MOD 1 and MOD 2 what more can you ask for, it will be sad to not ride with Steve as it wasn't just riding with an instructor in the end, it was like going out riding with a mate if anybodys reading this and you are thinking of taking your CBT, A1,A2 or full A licence I can't recommend Steve enough (catch you all on the roads if you can keep up)
Thanks Brad, great result (not often examiners are left lost for words!), see you out there
Fantastic experience: Well what can I say. With no experience whatsoever I first went to a 2 hour session with Steve to learn the basics before starting my 6 day DAS course.. I was that bad on the bike I left wondering if this was even possible to do or if I even wanted to do it.. anyway I started the course nervous as hell. Steve continued to build my confidence. And before I knew it I was training on a big bike ... and on the final day it achieved my mod 1 and mod2 first time Steve is very honest and direct. And won't sugar coat anything.. my pass is a testament to to how good a training school he runs..
Thanks Liam, your dedication and perseverance paid off, great passes, see you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: Steve is a great instructor..... I had previously done a couple of CBT's with him on my twist & go, before deciding to get my full licence. He said to come for a taster session/assessment to see how much training i would require, and after me "kangarooing" round the training area for 1/2 hour he recommend 2hr session for some basic clutch control followed by 4 day Das course. ( he could of said 10days after seeing the abuse i gave his bike on assesment ) I really enjoyed the 4 day course, and felt confident that Steve knew what he was talking about. Good clear instructions, and great explanations for any questions I had, always felt safe out on the road, and made it easy to understand why we were doing, what we were doing. Great stuff, thx Steve
Thanks dude, pleasure was all mine , looking forward to seeing you out there ️️
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for an experienced instructor who will teach you how to ride a bike rather than just how to pass a test, Steve is that guy. I went in for both of my mod 1 and mod 2 tests with full confidence in myself due to the high standard of training offered. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get on a motorbike. I enjoyed all of my training and have taken away a massive amount of knowledge on how to ride safely and comfortably on the road. Thank you.
Cheers Steve, time to get the Gixer 6 warmed up and hit the road
Fantastic experience: I can't praise this motorcycle training school highly enough. Learning how to ride a bike with Steve was a hugely enjoyable experience. Friendly, professional, great location, and very well maintained bikes. Took me from 'never ridden before' to confidently passing my test in 6 sessions!
Thanks John, ride safe, see you soon
Fantastic experience: Today I passed my cbt … and that’s all thanks to my amazing instructor Steve! He was really easy to talk to, fun and very informative very safety oriented an all round great guy! I highly recommend ride on motorcycle training as it was a great day even in rain he still managed to fill me with confidence. Thank you so much Steve
Top performance today Sophia, enjoy the Vespa, they are collectors items!
Fantastic experience: Passed my Cbt today with Steve. Brilliant instructor. Very knowledgeable and easily helped me (having not riden in 6 years) to get to a standard where i was riding safely on the roads. Will be going back for my full license for sure. Thanks steve. Highly recommend
Thanks Mark, bit toasty today but an excellent ride
Fantastic experience: I throughly recommend Ride On Motorcycle Training in Christchurch for any motorcycle training you may require. Steve the owner and lead instructor is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and patient. I came to steve on a DAS course having never ridden a big bike. With his direction Steve gave me the knowledge and confidence necessary to pass my full A motorcycle license first time at the end of the week. Thank you Steve.
No sweat Jack, see you out there (Mugello)
Fantastic experience: Steves a great instructor, got me through my mod 1 and 2 , highly recommend him !
Thanks Sean, top ride, see you soon
Fantastic experience: Highly, highly recommend Steve. He Was absolutely spot on from start to finish on my full bike license course. He knows his stuff that's for sure, his teaching methods and the way he approaches the training is so professional and easy to understand. 10 out of 10 would recommend this top quality guy to anyone thinking about getting onto a motobike I had very minimal experience on a motobike and for me to pass first time on a big bike with only one minor clearly shows how experienced he is as a instructor. He wants you to pass as much as you do!
No sweat Chris, see you out there
Fantastic experience: Steve was very helpful and informative both with the test itself but also with bike and equipment recommendations. Enjoyed the CBT day very much and walked away with a pass! Would recommend to anyone looking for CBT, bike licenses and taster sessions. I will definitely be returning in the near future to move on to my full bike license.
Cheers Michael, you aced it! See you out there
Fantastic experience: Steve is an excellent motorcycle instructor. Your safety as a rider is paramount to him. He adopts a 'train hard, fight easy' approach to preparing for whichever test you are taking. He is straight talking and flexible. I highly recommend him.
Thanks Richard, hope you have fun out there getting the miles in!
Fantastic experience: Steve is a great instructor! Friendly and full of knowledge. Helped me go from a total clueless rider to being comfortable and confident enough to get out on the road and pass my CBT! Also had lots of advice on where to get gear and what sort of bikes I should and shouldn’t be looking at to get myself started. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back in the future.
Thanks Ben, have fun out there!
Fantastic experience: I have just passed my A2 Licence with Steve. He was incredibly helpful and supportive in helping me complete the four day course which I undertook with him. I found the process extremely enjoyable, and he taught me all the relevant skills for passing the Module 1 and Module 2 test required to gain the licence. The five days I spent with Steve were an absolute pleasure, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Ride On Motorcycle Training Limited to anyone who is seeking to achieve their full motorcycle licence. Thank you so much Steve, and I will definitely be back to do my full A Licence in two years! Edit: Two years later and I went back to Steve to complete my full A Licence. Given I now had two years of riding under my belt he recommended a couple of hours of refresher training, and then some additional training on the way to the test centre. This was very reasonably priced and Steve used the time very efficiently, and I went into both Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests very comfortable and with a good level of confidence. As I passed first time, I cannot fault Steve's training in the slightest. Plus he is a great bloke - thanks once again Steve!
Thanks Ollie, a great week and faultless pass, see you on the MT
Positive experience: Steve is a very nice guy. Can't really complain too much as I paid him to get me to pass and that's exactly what I did. At times can be a little harsh but that then prevents you from making the same mistake again. Would recommend if you want to pass as if you listen to Steve that's exactly what will happen. Update. Went back after 2 years for my full A test and same thing happend again. Paid Steve to train me and get me to pass and passed. Recommended him highly
See you out there Kieran
Fantastic experience: Just completed a DAS course with Steve at Ride On Bikes. I had brilliant experience from start to finish and it was so worth it to pass my final test this week. It was fun, exciting, and challenging from day one. Steve has great coaching skills which helped enormously throughout the course and I would highly recommend anyone wishing to get on two wheels to check out Steve at Ride On Bikes. Thanks a million Steve.
No sweat Chris, have fun out there
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Steve highly enough; knowledgeable, personable, and assertive is the short of it. Everything from choice of motorcycles you can train on, to the test centre you take your mod 1 & 2 at. You are in safe hands. I have just completed my DAS, having come from another trainer with a CBT with about, up to, 6 months on the road on a 125, and at the 5 month point a rideout with Steve to assess how to tackle the DAS - meaning ascertain what standard of riding you are at, and how quickly you can adapt and move onto a larger motorcycle. In retrospect I can honestly say, I wish I had done the whole thing with Steve from start to finish. Anyway, I've passed now, and if reading; to you Steve, I just cannot thank you enough. I'll get some miles done on something and see you in the future! Thanks Lawrence
Cheers Lawrence, excellent first time passes and some great riding over the last couple of days, have fun shopping!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and quality training. Form but fair approach. Will return for more courses
Thanks Adam, hope you are having fun out there!
Fantastic experience: Steve is an excellent tutor. His evident expertise and ability to share that knowledge very clearly and coherently was essential in helping me beat nerves and go from zero to CBT safely and enjoyably. He breaks things down simply, is direct, and makes sure you 'bake-in' key skills right from the start. I will next be asking Steve and Ride On to help me build my biking skills so I can get out there on two wheels in a way that keeps me (and others!) safe and grows my skill and confidence. Looking forward to it!
Thanks Bruce, see you soon
Fantastic experience: I have just completed my DAS course with Steve at Ride on. After initial contact and as I had some previous 125cc riding experience, Steve recommended a rider assessment which was a short meet and greet and road ride. From there I had a 2hr preparation session (125cc) and then 3 days on the full size machine with my test on the fourth day. This was all great as it allowed me to keep costs down and minimise time off work. Throughout the course I really appreciated Steves no nonsense approach. You will be left in no doubt about your progress and where you need to focus on improvement. Come test day, you will be very glad that Steve has worked you appropriately! The course was well structured with just enough cafe breaks to keep warm and have a friendly chit-chat in between rides. Steve runs a very professional outfit and I have already recommended him to my friends.
Thanks Paul, a chilly but thoroughly enjoyable ride, see you on the new bike
Fantastic experience: I passed my full motorcycle test first time.Steve was a great instructor through out the lessons. Highly recommended!!!! Thank you Henry G
Thanks Henry, see you out there
Fantastic experience: First and foremost I passed first time on a 6 day DAScourse. I felt that this was the right amount of time for me as I hadn’t rode a bike for 20 years and my experience back then was only a couple of years on a 125. The course itself is compact as you would expect and each day is fast learning curve. Steve’s training is very professional and the two big bikes I trained on were nice bikes I really enjoyed riding them. Steve as a person is a very nice guy, professional and to the point. When he is in training mode he is strict which I liked and will tell you exactly what you need to hear, Good or bad!. I can’t thank you enough steve. I will pop in and show you my bike one day and I will certainly be in touch for some extra training for some more of the advance riding. I would also like to add, on the day of the test I was very nervous in the morning when we arrived at the test centre and he did a good job steadying my nerves and re assured me I had the skills to do it and stop messing around and just get it done and dusted. Steve, you made my dream come become reality! Ps I owe you one coffee as well ….
Thanks Luke and well done on a faultless ride(74kph e stop!), it was great to ride with you this week, pop in on the old classic when you’re passing
Fantastic experience: Just finished my DAS with ride on motorcycle training and i cannot recommend them enough. Steve is a top bloke with great experience and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. Don't hesitate to book!
Thanks Dean, faultless ride on both tests, see you out there
Fantastic experience: recently completed DAS and passed on a 125. Was meant to be going up to a bigger bike but It's so much harder than I thought it would be and half way there is so much better than nothing. very proud of myself and super grateful to Steve for his patience and grit in dealing with amateur bikers like me. I went from 0 bike experience to passing. I'll be going back to get on a bigger bike for sure.
Thanks Chelsea and well done on an excellent first time pass, see you soon for the next stage
Negative experience: Not a great teacher, and a bit odd as a person. I did 3 days with him, [1 to 2]. The other guy was a young guy like me and had done motorbike racing, clearly much better then me. The instructor kept calling me a novis in a not so nice way. Even the other guy thought it was a bit weird. He also seems to be more interested in telling you about how fast he went once then actually teaching. Also he won't mention to you until the day before you test that you have to drive for an hour to get to the test site! The bike he had for us was ridiculous, it was a 600 sports bike. Not the easiest to ride. I ended up passing my mod 1 but failing the mod 2, then going to another place near Brighton, as that's where I came from. They had much easier bikes to ride and were 1000x better teachers. Dont wast your time here, I think all these positive reviews are from his mates
Hi Taliesin, I’m sorry you’ve not had a good experience at the school you chose, however, we are based in Christchurch in Dorset and are not the school you used. We do not use sports bikes for training only easy to ride machines, if you read this and would be kind enough to remove your comment I would be grateful, thanks. Steve. Ride On Motorcycle Training.
Fantastic experience: Just completed a 5 day DAS with Steve to achieve a full category A license. Excellent experience and would recommend to anyone. Steve signed me up for just the right amount of training - enough for me to be safe and competent on the road, but not anymore more than was necessary. The training bikes are excellent, radios clear and training facilities ideal. All tests, timings and logistics were dealt with Steve behind the scenes leaving me to concentrate on riding only. Thanks again Steve.
Cheers Tom, fault free even if a little chilly
Fantastic experience: Recently passed my CBT with Ride On, my instructor Steve was absolutely fantastic and made sure the day was safe, enjoyable and informative. The training was extremely well run start to finish and I came away from the session confident in my own ability. I will be using Ride On in the near future for my DAS training and test
Thanks Ben, looking forward to helping you lose those L’s
Fantastic experience: Steve was a great instructor throughout the day, he made sure we were doing the right things to learn it properly, and when we weren't he would show us how and allow us time to get better at it. I felt very safe, and in experienced hands, and fortunately the weather was nice too, so it all made for a brilliant day, leaving with a CBT pass! Top job Steve, thank you.
Cheers Nick, see you out there
Fantastic experience: I've recently spent 3 days with Steve training for my full bike license and I couldn't recommend him enough, top bloke. He's fair and straight to the point, ensuring you get the best possible advice to make you a better rider. If you're looking for a motorcycle training school, look no further...
Thanks Jordan, see you on the Zed
Fantastic experience: Passed my A2 liscence today, 2 weeks after passing my cbt with Steve at Ride on. Steve was friendly and easy to get on with. He addressed any issues with technique so that i could quickly correct them and move on. He explained things very clearly which helped me learn quickly. Every bike i rode during my training was in great condition and had been maintained nicely and was a pleasure to ride. After my cbt, i did 1 day training on a 125 going over basic rider skills required to ride a larger bike. I then completed 2 days training on a 500cc A2 complient bike. On the day if the test i passed with confidence. Would highly recomend to anybody looking to get a cbt, carry out extra training or wanting to get their full liscence. I will come coming back to complete my a1 liscence once im old enough!
Thanks Seb, top result and a first time pass, great to ride with you
Fantastic experience: Steve is thorough in his training. He has made sure I had the confidence and skill I needed before going out on the road today and I PASSED MY CBT!! Steve showed true patience and professionalism throughout my training from day one. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience so far.
Thanks Talene, have fun, see you for the next stage
Fantastic experience: I passed my CBT today with Steve, had a great time! Steve is an A class teacher very patient and informative and a good laugh aswell. Look forward to going back and doing my full license. 10/10 A class service
Cheers Dan, just remember, the longer you keep the front wheel off the ground the less rubber you’ll use
Fantastic experience: I have spent the past week with Steve in training for my cbt to full licence and I definitely would not have been able to achieve this if he wasn't as great at his job as he is. Steve is very to the point and rightly so as your safety on the roads is his number one concern. His ability to pass on his knowledge to each person individually is second to none. I had great fun training and cannot thank him enough.... Big thumbs up
Cheers Dan, first time pass and a clean sheet, nice work
Fantastic experience: Took my CBT with Steve last week, fantastically patient and found his advise incredibly useful. I told him I'd already bought a ybr 125 and he took the time to show me the basics of the geared bike before moving onto an auto for manoeuvre training and on-the-road part of the day. All this boosted my confidence enough to jump on my 125 when I got home and take it for a run. I've been sticking to the advice he gave me and feeling comfortable on the road now! 100% recommend!
Thanks Ian, have fun out there!
Fantastic experience: Would like to thank Steve for getting me and my son our full bike licence, would highly recommend this man if you want to take up Motercycling and achieve safe riding to a high standard ,once again a very big thank you from the both of us.
Cheers Carl, I hope you and Ryan have many happy miles tearing round Europe
Fantastic experience: Thanks Steve for the training and tips to get my license. Now I’m a better rider for me and others road users. Excellent instructor.
Thanks Leandro, excellent pass with no faults! See you out there
Fantastic experience: Steve Craig is a very professional teacher, a great motorcycle rider who will not only train you for your test but also teach you to become a safe and better rider, with his experience, knowledge, patience and skill he will work with you, I found the whole experience enjoyable and I can now ride my Ducati Monster!! Highly recommended.
Cheers Paul, enjoy!
Fantastic experience: Steve is the best and most professional teacher I have ever met, his meticulous attention and the clear way he puts across the details are outstanding, with tireless patience he ensures even the slowest of candidates (like me) understand both the theory and the practical every step of the way. Thanks to him I have achieved a full motorcycle license and if in time I can become half as good a rider as him, I will be doing well. Thank you Steve for all you have done.
No problem Richard, looking forward to seeing the AJS in the flesh sometime
Fantastic experience: Steve is a fantastic instructor that has helped me pass my CBT and DAS. I highly recommend Ride On Motorcycle Training to anyone looking to get on 2 wheels!
Thanks Ryan, can’t wait to see the race prepped Kwak!
Fantastic experience: Well today Friday 6th August 2021, a new chapter in my life started. A new freedom that until today seemed a million miles away. I obtained my A1 and A2 motorcycle license and this was after booking my DAS course with Steve @ Ride On Motorcycle Training. I had a past with motorcycles but not always licensed and I thought I was ok on a bike, until my first lesson with Steve, he showed me that I was far from the finished article in respect of riding a motorcycle confidently and safely. Learning from someone who is direct, honest and gives excellent constructed feedback was what I needed and this in turn instilled confidence. If you are looking at a first time ride, getting back on 2 wheels or just wanting to try a motorcycle then please don't waste your time looking for other schools go directly to Steve at Ride On Motorcycle Training. It will be the best move you make in getting you set for life on a motorbike. But if you cannot take someone giving honest feedback and pointing out where you are going wrong then you may need to look for a school who will nurse you along while taking plenty of your money and you not progressing to a confident rider. Ride On Motorcycle Training is a professional riding school with top notch learner machines and 600cc + machines and an instructor who is pushing for the best in you and your attitude to riding. I will further my training with Steve at Ride On Motorcycle Training as he is an instructor who I trust and have all confidence in to further my riding skills.
Thanks Leigh, excellent first time pass, enjoy, see you out there on Route 66
Fantastic experience: I am so glad I found Ride On! Novice rider to passed full bike! Steve tells it how it is, exactly how you need to hear it when operating a bike. His passion for motorcycling is unmatched and this is reflected in his work; meticulous, thorough, and a with one aim- get you to be the most competent and confident driver (/passed)! Thank you Steve!
Thanks Henrietta, looking forward to seeing you ripping it up out there
Fantastic experience: Yesterday I renewed my cbt with steve, I would highly recommend him for any motorcycle training, he is a very professional, no nonsense highly skilled and knowledgeable instructor, before attending you must have knowledge of the highway code and if you say you are experienced you should of course know the basics!!! . Seriously considering further courses thanks steve
Thank you Lucy, you rode really well and demonstrated a high level of confidence throughout. See you out there
Fantastic experience: Completed my DAS course today with no faults thanks to Steve. Steve is honest with his feedback and will let you know when your doing wrong as your riding along but will also explain in more depth once you stop so you understand what you did and what you should have done. I left everyday of my training feeling confident and looking forward to the next days training. The training is at a very high standard and is not just to get you to pass but also to keep you safe on the road after your test. I would recommend Ride On Motorcycle Training to anyone looking to get on 2 wheels.
Thanks Stephen, it was a great to help you get your full licence, can’t wait to see what ‘commuter’ you get (GSXR1000?)
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience training with Steve! Professional and great instructor! Always makes things fun and enjoyable, and does a great job of confidence building! Very grateful for all the hard work he put in getting me through my DAS He played a huge part in getting me through my mod 1 with a single minor and my mod 2 with not a single fault. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to pass their test!
Thanks Rick, top ride, the Indian is out there somewhere
Fantastic experience: Great instructor! got me up to speed within 4 days of training when I hadn’t ridden for a long time, I passed my module 1 and 2 the first time round with only a couple of minor marks against me in total. Quality training that will bring you up to a safe test ready standard to get you out on the road Cam.
Thanks Cam, well deserved! Have fun
Fantastic experience: Just Completed my CBT and DAS with Ride On and passed first time and I think that's a testament to Steve's training. Steve gives you a great understanding of what is required to be a good rider and rightly has high standards regarding safety, all this means that if you listen and take on board his feedback you will pass your test and be a better rider. cheers
Thanks Alex, looking forward to hearing all about your first Paris Dakar!
Fantastic experience: Reliable pleasant unbiased instructor and examiner.
Thanks Francesco, great to help you with your course, ride safe
Fantastic experience: Excellent 'Back to Bikes' course! Extremely professional coaching by Steve throughout. Not having ridden for over 40 years (!) I found there were many things long forgotten that needed refreshing - Plus: I came away with confidence to start riding again (and many good riding practices and tips).
Thanks Gerald, see you out there
Fantastic experience: Passed my module 1 and 2 tests first time after completing a DAS. Steve has high standards, is patient and will do everything he can to prepare you for your test. Completed my training on a MT-07 which helped make the experience more enjoyable. Couldn't recommend enough. Thanks
Elliot, thanks, a pleasure to help you realise your dream (completely fault free of course)
Fantastic experience: October 2021 - After a great CBT renewal with Steve back in May (as below), I booked a 4 day course for my DAS with Steve this week. Steve's manner of instruction is second to none, he is calm, patient, and endeavours to ensure the learner is able to actually ride safely and legally, not just pass the test! I've had a thoroughly enjoyable time learning from Steve, and with his expert instruction, I passed both my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with no faults, having only held a CBT beforehand, no car driving license. Thanks again May 2021 - Steve delivered my CBT renewal in a calm, knowledgeable and experienced manner. I really appreciated his way of working. In the process of booking my DAS course with Ride On, thoroughly recommend
Thanks Nathan, nice ride today, looking forward to helping you lose those ‘L’s!
Fantastic experience: Great experience with the company. The instructor I had, Steve, was a really nice bloke and very clear and knowledgeable about what we were doing. I would definitely recommend him for bike CBT/Licence training if you're in the area. He's got a good space for training too.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your Back to bikes course, see you out there!
Fantastic experience: Really good training. Got me to pass a mod one and a mod two test in the same day first time
Thanks Jacob, 8 months until you can get full power!
Fantastic experience: Steve was very helpful. He helped build my confidence whilst out and about on the bike. After my CBT had been postponed several times because of COVID, he made sure that I was on the priority list once things opened up again. I was very happy to pass my CBT a few days ago. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get their CBT. A.M.
It was great to finally help you get on the road, see you out there!
Fantastic experience: Done my CBT and looking to do full bike licence. Steve is really enthusiastic and passionate about bikes after a slow start my side he helped through to get to me to stage I needed to be. Great trainer. Brilliant explanation throughout..
Cheers Ryan, hope you are rocking the open road
Fantastic experience: Fabulous instructor. A well organised day with Steve. Passed my Class A first time because of the way Ride-On do things. Thoroughly recommended.
Thanks Nigel, see you soon for your full licence!
Fantastic experience: Recently completed a my DAS course having almost no previous Bike experience and must Steve was excellent from start to finish, resulting with me passing my Mod 2 yesterday. Can't rate Steve highly enough. Calm & clear instructions throughout giving you the confidence to feel safe on the road. Would recommend to anyone for a CBT right through to the full DAS.
Cheers David, top ride, get shopping! See you out there
Fantastic experience: I passed Module 1 & 2 tests yesterday. I'd like to say I had 4 hard, amazing, enjoying days. Hard was because of weather (-5) :) was amazing to training because Steve is not focus just your test, he is trying improve your skill as well. Of course I enjoyed after passed to test and ride with you on the motorway, worth everything. We can ride together again one day maybe, who knows Very huge thank you Steve for your patience, motivations and your energy. Ride safe always...
Thanks Ersin, I look forward to riding with you in the future and tasting the coffee in your new cafe!
Fantastic experience: If you want to take on the DAS with an intensive 6-day training programme, and you’re truly focussed on achieving a first time pass, Ride On really will repay your attentive commitment with 1st class thorough preparation and expert guidance. I failed my first Direct Access course many years ago, arguably down to my poor preparation. I had 2 instructors, with whom I had a good laugh, enjoyed largely great feedback from and eventually received a ‘nailed on mate’ assurance that I’d waltz through the test. I didn’t, and didn’t try again for 15 years! Conversely, Steve proved to be far more professional and prepared me well. He has a really close attention to detail and uses consistent measured repetition for the aspects you need to quickly develop if you’re to prove successful, not only on your preparedness for the tests but equally for the months and years to come whilst you’re really learning about biking! Steve’s investment in his Bikes and equipment is clear to see. All high quality kit and I thoroughly enjoyed my time on his MT-07. Due to the closed test centres during lockdown and the subsequent lengthy delays before an opportunity finally came up, I booked two one-2-one sessions for just prior to my tests. For me, these were great, and I’d seriously recommend it if you want to work on specific aspects of your riding. Helped me a lot. Steve even inadvertently prepared me for my future touring! On an over 4-hour round trip to Exeter for my Mod1 – yes Exeter! (he really was pulling out all the stops to get his students through the test back log) I learnt just how long my clutch hand and backside will last between in-between stages! It's no accident that Steve has a high pass rate for his students; high teaching standards at all times whilst retaining a friendly, professional approach to every aspect of it. Cheers Steve!
Darren, thanks, pleasure to help you achieve your dream and ride with you
Fantastic experience: Steve is very professional, firm and pushes you when needed, also sends you in the right direction in terms of clothing. Passed my full A licence on 6 day course with delays due to Covid and thank him for his instuction.
Cheers Lee, see you out there
Fantastic experience: Steve is a great instructor, patient, informative and encouraging. Listen, learn and enjoy. I passed CBT and Full Bike licence first time with him.
Thanks Nick, time to get the miles in on your classic ZZR
Fantastic experience: After a 5 month delay due to COVID-19 I managed to complete the course and pass module 1 & 2 first time, thanks Steve! Steve’s tuition is thorough and with immediate and often direct feedback, there’s no beating around the bush which I personally appreciated. This allowed me to understand where I needed to improve to ensure I passed the test but more importantly exceed that level to be prepared for riding safely and independently. Steve was always happy to discuss topics again, helping reiterate theory and practical learnings. The course is taxing mentally and physically but hugely rewarding. I thoroughly recommend Steve at Ride On to complete your DAS course.
Cheers Ben, see you on your new wheels
Fantastic experience: I found riding a moped unexpectedly challenging, I was not confident enough to learn how to ride a moped and take my CBT all in one day. Despite Steve the instructor, breaking it to me very gently I was totally gutted in my lack of balance and ability. However, Steve gave me some pointers and offered to postpone my CBT practical element until I was ready to proceed. 4 weeks later after practicing at home I am happy to say I passed the CBT with Steve and am ready to take my learning to the next level out on the open road. I am grateful to Steve's patience and understanding through this steep learning curve. I look forward to taking further motorbike lessons with him to learn more skills and prepare to take my full motorbike licence at some point in the not too distant future. I completely recommend Ride On Motorcycle Training.
No problem Tara, get out there while it’s all still fresh!
