Fantastic experience: Shires instructors have been absolutely fantastic getting me through training and my CBT the last few weeks and I could not be more appreciative of them all. Matt, Chris and John have the patience of saints as I was a very nervous older first timer who needed a fair bit of one on one. I would recommend these guys to anyone - regardless of your experience as they are just amazing! ⭐️

Fantastic experience: Had no previous experience on a bike but the instructor john was very good at teaching it all and helped me to feel comfortable on the bike. Instructor was easy to get on with and the session itself went great. Would recommend for anyone trying to do their CBT.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service. I worked with John/ Matt and Chris who all made me feel very comfortable. Their relaxed individual approach to each person was really beneficial and well managed as in some cases we were in groups of 3 or 4! Bikes were lovely to learn on and I'm very greatful for all the advice and coaching given. They took me from zero experience to my full access lisence in about 5 weeks- 10/10 would reccomend to anyone.

No question was a silly one! Possibly could have had better signage to the venue... as it was tucked around the corner and nearly needed to pay car parking!

Fantastic experience: Really good experience from beginning to end. All instructors were friendly and approachable with a lot of patience and acceptance for when natural mistakes occurred. Regular communication when it was required and facilitating all tests allowed for the pressure to be taken off. Utilising the test centre prior to MOD1 test was helpful to create the right expectation for when it mattered. Fabulous team and equipment certainly helped get me through the process and hope to come back for further training when appropriate.

Fantastic experience: I am a deaf person, but had a cochlear implant fitted last year, so I have regained some hearing ability. I have always wanted to get a full motorcycle licence, but my hearing problems always prevented this. I visited the training team in Peterborough to see what options were available to me. I was told they use helmet to helmet radio communications, but I was pretty sure this would not be suitable for me, so I asked if there was any way to do this via a telephone call as I can hear really well on the phone, as my Implant streams directly inside my head and this cuts out all external background noises. I was informed that this should be possible, so I went ahead and booked the full course. On starting the course we tried out this method, but was found to be unsuccsesfull, so my trainer (Chris, with the beard) went and found some new equiptment and this was totally succsesfull. Chris had a word with the examiner, and was informed they could not use this method on my test, as they had to use the equiptment supplied by the DVSA, this meant that I would need an extended test which would have made things very difficult. Chris the did some research online, and found out that the DVSA had to make provsions for disabilitys, so he was able to persuade the examiner to use the phone method. After that every thing went perfectly, and I passed everything first time. All of the Peterborough team probally went well beyond what was expected of them, I cant praise the Shires team enough. From start to finish, the professionalism and dedication of the instructors Matt, Chris 1 and Chris 2 were evident. They provided comprehensive, hands-on training that catered to all skill levels. As a beginner, I felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. The training was thorough, covering essential safety practices, bike handling, and road awareness. Each session was well-structured, ensuring I got plenty of practical experience. The bikes were well maintained and easy to ride. I used a Kawasaki X125 and Z650 for both CBT and DAS. The centre also offered flexible options, which made it easy to fit lessons in. It took a few attempts to pass but I never felt like a failure and was always given confidence and offered extra tuition as needed. I felt supported by all of the team. I highly recommend Shires to anyone looking to learn how to ride or improve their skills. It's a fantastic investment in your riding future!

Fantastic experience: I used Shires for the DAS course and would highly recommend this company. The level of instruction and equipment are excellent. I trained with several of the Instructors throughout the Mod 1 and Mod 2 elements. I found that particularly useful as each had a subtly different set of insights. They also made the training fun - despite it being quite intense at times. I learned loads. Not just about passing the test, but about motorcycling generally. They have a lot of passion for what they do and this translates into their outstanding tuition.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test with Shires this week and highly recommend them as a training school. All the staff were friendly, helpful, really calm and patient when teaching in the classroom or out on the rides. I'm 5 foot tall and had put off going for my full licence for a long time as a bit wary of riding a big bike. But, if you're like me then go with these guys. They have lowered bikes and all the safety gear and access to the local test centre for mod 1 practice.

Fantastic experience: Recently passed my DAS, and it took me 3 attempts. The instructors are so good. The teaching techniques they choose to have really helps and improves the riding. My CBT instructors were Jon and Jack , they were really calm and in times joking to make you at ease. On the Mod1 instructor Christopher is really good and it amaze me how much experience this guy has. How nicely and neatly can teach you all the good moves. And on mod2 Matthew is the man. His unique method are really great , that even during my exam i remember his words and it really helped. The most patient guy out there. Really love this guy. Shires motorcycle training really lucky to have these two dudes.

Fantastic experience: My journey to full licence started with a taster back in August 2022. I was returning to motorbikes from a youthful age of 17 to a more mature rider and having regretted not obtaining a full licence. Matt and Chris were brilliant steering me through CBT and Mod 1. Mod 2 proved trickier but eventually got there on 2nd Feb. I can fully recommend Shires whether new or in my case returning at a more advanced age ( no barrier!). Thanks again to all at Shires and now to buy a bike!

Fantastic experience: I passed my A2 license here and then a couple years later went back and passed my full A license. I would highly recommend. Good instructors with good knowledge and experience. The way they teach is also quite laid back which makes it more fun rather than a chore. If you want your license this is the place to go.

I think I had sessions with all the instructors, and each and every one was superb. Very friendly, knowledgeable and patient, making the process very enjoyable and productive. They don't just teach you how to ride, but how to do it safely and what to expect on the tests. I already felt like I had an upper hand, going into the tests, and I was proven right because I passed everything first time. Can't recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: I completed my DAS course under the instuctions of Matt & Chris they both made the training a pleasure to do, coming from a off road motorcycle rider I had a lot of habits that are not necessary good for road riding, they soon got me up to speed on safely riding a motorcycle on the road, both instructors are very friendly and great on giving instructions on manoeuvres, position, speed etc, with a bit of friendly chat & banter thrown in. excellent quality bikes to learn on, nice new & modern Thanks for getting me through my DAS.

Fantastic experience: I took my Das training, mod1 & Mod2 through Shires Peterborough in Oct 2023 & passed. I found the training to be clear, comprehensive & had individual extra help where needed from both my instructors Chris & Matt who are a real credit to the company. They are calm, experienced and treat students with respect and understanding. The bikes are kept in great condition & comfortable & light enough for me (female 5’5” ) to move around. I felt supported well on the days of my tests. They offer an individual initial test ride to let you get used to the bike which I found helpful as I’d only ever ridden a 125 before and moving to a 650 seemed a big jump (it wasn’t). They aim to teach you to be a good safe rider, not just how to scrape through a test. I have no hesitation to suggest you go speak with them if you’re looking to learn to ride. Fantastic experience: Excellent. I completed a DAS course with these guys, and they were superb. Everybody who I came into contact with from the guys in the shop to the instructors running the various courses, all were brilliant. Very welcoming and friendly and really made me feel relaxed, a totally enjoyable course. 10 out of 10 all round

Fantastic experience: Done my cbt 125 with these guys and they are all a great bunch good laugh, great fun but also get the job done to a very high standard. I would use these guys for my das if they were closer. Thanks again guys

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic group. Was bit nervous for my CBT and it was a stonking hot day, but made to feel comfortable and training was carried out at a pace which was suitable to me. Chris was a great instructor and helped me learn from mistakes and gave valuable tips. Would be happy to go back for my full bike licence. Highly reccomended.
