Fantastic experience: At 40, and as a first time rider, it's fair to say I was very nervous in trying to pick up a new skill that I've wanted for a long time. Had my CBT with Steve yesterday and haven't stopped thinking about bikes since. Steve was extremely kind and patient with me, and allowed me to take plenty of breaks to keep cool in the heat. Even the times when I wasn't getting something right or on the verge of losing control of the bike, he kept completely calm and helped me get my composure back, both in the centre and out on the road. I never felt rushed or like we were on the clock which was also important in making me feel as comfortable as I could be. It was also clear to me that the other instructors had great relationships with their riders going for their bigger licences. Everyone was great. Can't wait to get a bike for myself now to get more comfortable with riding so I can go back and get my full licence!

Fantastic experience: Did CBT with Matt, Mod 1&2 with John can‘t recommend them enough. Great place to go didn’t have a lesson I didn’t enjoy. John gives great instruction so if your struggling with something he will put it in a way that helps you to get it and doesn’t lose patience after watching you somehow mess a controlled stop up 4 times. If you do go wrong on the road the explanations you get are clear which help make you a better rider. If you drive a Tesla park it around the corner and walk in or be prepared to be called out on it!

Kev was my instructor, he has the patient of a saint, and really picks you up in spirit when you have made a mistake, or if you are feeling a lot of self doubt. Could not have done it without him! Fantastic experience: Cant recommend Hotwheelz enough! I done my cbt with another school and really wasn’t getting anywhere. Switched over to Hotwheelz and I’ve now got my full licence!! Mod 1 and mod 2 complete. Massive thanks to John and Kev for pushing me and believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I’d never recommend anyone to go anywhere else these lot really know their stuff and I honestly couldn’t have done it without them!! Fantastic experience: Picked up my CBT from a different school and wasn't getting anywhere on the manual bikes with them, came over to John at Hotwheelz and what a difference. Helped build my confidence, very good instruction in all kinds of settings and scenarios, taught me how to ride, not just pass a test. Great school and would highly recommend for anything from CBT up to full A licence.

Fantastic experience: Went from zero to hero with some top lads! Achieved my CBT, Mod 1 & 2 here over the winter months (poorly avoiding some very British weather). I had little experience on a 125 and went to a full A2 license guided by sound and constructive advice. These moto-gurus seriously know their stuff, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a motorbike course or training. Achieving my full license would have been impossible without them! Taking their Z650 out was a great experience every time. Helmet, gloves, jacket etc was provided and included in the price. Training in the yard helped my bike control dramatically but mostly we were on the road. There we got to see some great local sights but more importantly provided me with the riding confidence to conquer the Mod 1 & 2. Now I have the free reign to go visit some not so local sights :) a new bike and a lot of adventures await....

Negative experience: Update: since leaving Hotwheelz, I have passed with another provider with a lot less speeding, swearing and less than accurate Highway Code knowledge. Take great care. I posted a negative review which Hotwheelz seem to have removed. There are issues with this riding school - they encouraged me to ignore certain speed limits, wanted me to ride like a racer from the start (in the name of making progress), signed off my CBT when it was incomplete and run their mod 1 practice on public 30mph roads, forcing you to break the speed limit to "pass". Be very careful.

You helped give her confidence by listening to her, adapting your training styles and through a very structured and well planned and delivered course, you have brought out the best in her, something no school has done for three years! Fantastic experience: I attended my CBT training on 30/12/23,I was made very welcome by Matt the instructor, The information and training was delivered in a very professional manner and safety was paramount during the days training.I really enjoyed my on road training my instructor being John who ensured that all instructions where clearly communicated and feedback given at all stages of the training.I would highly recommend Hot Wheelz and I am looking forward to completing additional training with John and Matt in spring to gain my full motorcycle licence. Fantastic experience: Completed my DAS course with Hotwheelz this morning and cant praise the whole team enough. Highly recommend whether you're looking to get your full licence or just complete your CBT. I went from never riding a motorcycle (only a push-bike as a kid) to having my full unrestricted license in 3 months. This could of been completed in 2 however due to me letting my nerves get the better of me I failed my first Mod1 test. This was to no fault of Hotwheelz. I purchased the bundle of 12 hours which included the CBT, tuition and my Mod1/2 tests. One thing to be mindful of is that any additional lessons/ tests will obviously be at an additional cost. Each lesson is 2 hours long and your tests are classed as 3 of your allotted hours. At the time of writing this an hour is £50.00 (£100.00 min for 2 hours), this includes the supply of a helmet, gloves, a jacket, tuition, bike hire and fuel. Scott was my instructor for the CBT and was a top bloke as well as being a great instructor, helping me get the basics down in the first half of the day before going out on the road for the remainder. The bike and equipment provided was the best I have seen and I have attached a photo of the 125cc Kawasaki to this post for reference. Once I completed the CBT I was able to start working towards my full A license (unrestricted) due to my age and passing my motorcycle theory test. Here I was instructed by both John and Kev who although have very different teaching styles are both very knowledgeable and great at helping you adapt to the larger and heavier bike in their own way (Kawasaki Z650, image attached). Kev has a very relaxed style of teaching and reflects on where you can improve along with demonstrating good practice by taking the lead on various occasions. John will point out errors you make/ bad practice and question why you're riding in a particular way before correcting you, this makes you reflect and dwell more on a mistake which in turn ensures you correct it going forward. Both of their teaching styles benefitted me however others may lean towards one more than the other as they are very different. Something to also consider to others looking to do a DAS course is that this is an experienced level course and your own ability will have an impact on how many hours it will take to pass. I have held a driving license 14+ years so already have experience on the road which allowed me to hit the ground running. As above the tuition was brilliant and I wouldn't look anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT with Scott, and both Mod1 and Mod2 with Kev. Both were very professional and took the time to cover the basics in as much detail as required with no time pressure. Was a very friendly atmosphere both in the office and out on the road. Kev especially took time to challenge and develop my riding on the way to Mod1 and 2 1st time passes. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed every minute of the training, which started on 4th August and I sent off for my full licence yesterday . Initial contact was with John the owner, who ran me through the different stages I needed to complete. I agreed a starting day where I had Scott taking me through my CBT..Once that was completed and I passed my theory test, Kev took over to get me through my MOD 1 & 2 training. Both Scott and Kev were excellent, not just as instructors but really good guys to get along with also. Don’t get me wrong, they won’t Molly coddle you but if you listen and apply what they teach, you won’t go wrong. I was recommended to use these guys and now I’m highly recommending them also. Keep up the good work

Fantastic experience: Booked a cbt here 125 geared for my birthday the bike was to big for me they couldn't really offer me anything else other than a bike with no mot no tax not road or carpark worthy but it did suit my height they offered me a scooter which I though had seen better days I was there to learn on a geared bike and they could not cater for the customers needs as they dont have a selection of bikes and I lost my £170 this is the company fault not the cbt instructor passing on a scooter with no gears does not make you an expert on a geared bike anyway I booked my cbt with wallasey motorcycles they catered for my needs it's £20 cheaper and I gained my cbt certificate on a geared bike I am planning to do a full bike licence but it won't be with this company based on my own personal experience ive rated 5 stars because its the only way I think my review will be shared as every single review so far that I can find is a 5 star with the exception of 2 reviews which rate 1 star my star goes to Scott not the company chose wisely when booking

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT with them today. Enjoyed the day, all the staff were friendly and approachable, firm but informative on the road as it should be to keep everyone safe. Wasn’t sure about going straight into lessons on bigger bikes but feel 100% comfortable to do so after today and will be booking myself in. Highly recommend if you’re new to bikes like me.

Fantastic experience: I came Hotwheelz after passing my CBT at another riding school that I found unsatisfactory. Apprehensive about starting my lessons I found both John and Kev professional , polite, calming and very patient. The yard available to practice manoeuvres is flat, tidy and tucked away in a quiet area. Making it perfect for practice. The bikes available are new and fully serviced, forgiving to beginners. I cannot sing my praises enough for my riding and learning experience at the riding school.

Fantastic experience: Just completed my A2 with Hotwheelz. Absolutely made up with it. My instructor, Kev, was great. A top bloke who is clearly experienced and knowledgable and passed that on easily to me (a totally new rider). All the rest of the team at Hotwheelz are top notch too and I appreciated the flexibility in scheduling they could provide me for my lessons.

Negative experience: I just don't understand why so many good reviews when in reality it's not like that. My personal experience with this place is completely different. I did my CBT here and was all good. Then I started on a 650cc and all hell descended. The instructor was not patience whatsoever. Obviously when you're for the first time on a bigger bike, you tend to be nervous. The instructor wasn't having that, I think he was expecting me to be Valentino Rossi or something. He was not patience and occasionally shouting.. imagine being on 2x wheels for the first time and having someone shouting at you via radio. Honestly go to another place, there are chill and understanding instructors out there.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT in April 2021 at Hotwheelz, then left it a year to get started on the DAS (Full, big boy license!) and came back to Hotwheelz because I felt comfortable immediately with their teaching technique, the lads are hilarious and put you at ease. It can certainly be nerve wracking starting your bike journey, 2 wheels can be intimidating at first, so your instructor(s) should definitely practice patience, firmness and a little banter thrown in there... That's exactly what you get with Hotwheelz and they're interested in who you are as a person, you'll get along no problem here. There are literally not enough words I can use to recommend them for your motorbike training (but I'll try!) Kev taught me everything for the module 1 and 2 tests and (speaking on a personal level) we got on straight away and had similar interests and music tastes etc. so I enjoyed every second learning how to ride with Kev, He kept me feeling so encouraged and relaxed while learning under his instruction. Absolutely incredible dude! If you're thinking of doing your CBT, look no further. Scott who does the CBT's is a really down to earth dude, he'll get you going in NO TIME AT ALL, really humble and encouraging, top guy. *** It's worth noting the instructors certainly don't take any flack off anyone either so listen to what they say, do as your told and you'll ABSOLUTELY pass!!! *** Massive MASSIVE thank you to John (owner) and his team. You've been incredible through the whole journey and it's been my absolute pleasure to have learnt with you. I will tell anyone and everyone who's thinking of learning to ride to go nowhere else! Fantastic experience: Firm, Fair and Fun 30 years after I first rode a 125, the pandemic convinced me to get back in the saddle and get the full legals. HotWheelz came with a recommendation from a friend, and they were right: detailed observations and helpful comments without being overwhelming; clear and logical explanations for actions and faults; a well-maintained training fleet; praise when appropriate... I don't think I was their worst student, but I turned up with several years of bad habits that John and Kevin managed to tame promptly and with respect. Thank you both for all your help - I still hear your words of wisdom when I approach roundabouts and pass motorway sliproads.

Fantastic experience: Top Motorbike Training School. Did my Direct Access (DAS) with them. They took me from a complete Novice to me now riding my Ninja 650 over a 12 week period, fitting my lessons in around my job. I had my CBT with Scott and MOD1 & MOD2 with Kev, both very experienced and knowledgeable. The school itself is a relaxed environment and has a good approach to all learning types. The school and all the employees are a credit to the industry. Please if you are looking to get on 2 wheels , choose this school !

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT, MOD 1 and MOD 2 within the space of 4 weeks. Highly recommend John and the team. They didn't try to sell me any unnecessary lessons or courses like a lot of other schools. They just identified area of improvement and gave constant constructive feedback on the lessons I did have to get me ready.

Fantastic experience: Great team of instructors! Took me from CBT through to a full A Licence at my own pace. A very professional set up with great learner bikes available and instructors that really know their stuff. If you are looking to learn to ride a motorbike in the Wirral/Cheshire area these guys should be your first call.

Fantastic experience: Recently passd Mod 2 at Hot Wheelz and the experience was amazing. I had ridden with 2 schools before Hot Wheelz and there is no comparison. I personally had experiences with 2 of the instructors Kev and John. Kev was my main instructor he is thorough with direction and made me feel relaxed with time and patience. John also wants the best for you and will invest his time to getting you where you need to be. There is no other mototcycle training you should go to as Hot Wheelz is far superior to them all.

Fantastic experience: I just completed my CBT with Hotwheelz on 07/07/22. I completed it with Scoot who was absolutely spot on, calm and understanding with me as I have been off the road for 12 years. He gave me clear and precise commands during the training and out on the road. John was also spot on and made me feel very welcome and had a good laugh. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of a CBT or their full Mod1/Mod 2 tests.

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT there today having never ridden before, went straight in on a geared 125cc with Scott as the instructor. Had such a good day, was really well paced, Scott was great at teaching me from scratch and by the end I was on the road and feeling confident. Couldn't recommend enough and I'll definitely be back to complete my licence (plus they use brand new Kawasaki's which were awesome).

Fantastic experience: If you need to get your motorcycle test done properly with the proper instruction give these guys a call. Passed within a month of doing my CBT. Both John and Kev absolutely brilliant lads. Will be recommending these to everyone!!

Fantastic experience: Passed my MOD 2 with hotwheelz, now! Absolutely fantastic result. It's a fantastic school to learn at, the instructors in all fields know what they're doing. I always recommend people to come here as its just incomparable to other schools. I started my A Licence back in 2021 but had a bad crash. I came back few weeks ago and they made sure I was okay, gave me breaks and honestly went great no real issues with my riding ability. MOD 2 is now booked and will pass it hopefully. 100% if you want to become the better rider come to this place, you won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I passed both module 1 and 2 of DAS with Kev at Hotwheelz. Me being a none driver with very little experience of roads he had his work cut out for him, but his excellent tuition gave me the confidence and the standard of riding to pass within a couple of months. Highly recommended.
