Fantastic experience: I had been learning to drive manual under Stephanie Davies. She has always been very supportive and kind to me during lessons. I have learnt a lot from her. At times, I completely lost hope and wanted to quit, but she always encouraged me and I was eventually able to pass my test today. I will highly recommend Steph to anyone who has lost hope to drive. Her methods are simple, easy and intuitive. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test first time today. I couldn’t have done it without my instructor Stanley S, he’s been an exceptional aid from start to finish, helping me with every single issue I had encountered during my lessons. My nerves and self doubt would often get the better of me, but he would talk me through it and then helped me with my fears (mini roundabouts) and face them head on, which all paid off today. Extremely grateful.

My instructor Rob Mawdsley made me feel so at ease at the very first lesson with him giving me clear instructions and feedback on what to do in certain situations on the road, which made me much more comfortable and confident on the road after every lesson. Fantastic experience: I was struggling to find an instructor who was available with any company and luckily, Chris Kelly managed to fit me in I had Mel as my instructor and I couldn't of asked for anyone better I did 1 hour 40 lessons and within 7 lessons I was taking my test and I passed with 3 minors. So happy to be in the road now and I couldn't of done it without my instructor, such clear and simple teaching techniques and doesn't take a whole lesson to learn one thing. I learnt very quickly and I feel I am a good driver and now I can drive as I've always wanted to.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test after joining this driving school. The instructor Marius explained everything I needed and gave good tips to pass the test. He has been a fantastic teacher, he made me feel comfortable and at ease within the first 10 minutes of meeting him. Brilliant instructor, very clear on what you will be doing in each lesson and also has you have ago at things you don’t feel confident with even if it takes a few more lessons than necessary he is very patient with your learning. Fantastic experience: I've had manual lessons with Neal L'Anson. He's a fantastic teacher and I highly recommend him. He was able to explain the mechanics of what I was doing in a really easy to understand way and was very patient. I also really liked the reflection time after each lesson where we looked at what and how I performed and what I could work on for the next lesson. Great teacher.

After my initial enquiry, I was promptly contacted to arrange lessons and started within the week. I can't thank my instructor Alan Murphy enough for his help and support. I never thought I'd have the confidence to drive and was very anxious, especially starting at 38, but his patience and guidance made all the difference. Thanks to Alan, I passed first time with no faults after a 20 lesson crash course.

Fantastic experience: Started my lessons in may was very nervous my instructor jay was brilliant had made me feel at ease I ended booking a 40 lesson crash course and a few separate lessons leading up to my test and I passed 1st time

Fantastic experience: Great experience they contacted me quickly and I started the lessons with Malcolm straight away. I have done my theory so it was easier is many ways . Plus my 1st language is not English the instructor was explaining everything clearly and in different ways if I didn't understand him clearly. We always found a way in the middle to understand each other. Very patient and trusting . Malcolm made sure to give me optimistic but realistic feedback about my progress and it helped me believing in me to work harder . To ease my nerves I have asked if he can be in the car with me on the test day. I think this helped a lot .

Fantastic experience: My experience with Chris Kelly was nothing short of brilliant. My instructor, who was Andy Kennedy, praised me every lesson, which helped my confidence grow. He would be straight with me when I wasn't at my best but most of all made it a calm and comfortable experience. It was the first time in my time of doing lessons that I actually looked forward to completing them. I had tried manual lessons with 4 x different independent instructors before and didn't get anywhere, (so this time i opted for automatic as i just wanted to get on the road) they were always so serious and at times abrupt! Andy made my lessons light hearted and fun. Thanks Andy I passed 1st time, completing only 22 lessons and with only 2 minors. Can't speak highly enough of my process and would recommend to anyone

Negative experience: Woeful customer service experience. I looked to Chris Kelly as I needed to pass my test quickly due to the coming birth of my daughter. I have had previous stints at doing lessons over the years so I didn't envisage this being a problem. I was put in contact with instructor and I had around 6 months before my daughters birth. The first lesson, I advise him of my anxiety being my main culprit and I've had experience of driving before. I had a test due early Sept but this was put back as I was not ready. Which I agreed with after a not so great mock test. I upped my lessons to one week in preparation for another rescheduled test early October. I watched some YT videos for hints and tips, practiced myself in carparks etc. I was building my confidence up and felt the best I'd had on the road. I had another Mock test to which I felt I done alot better, but with 2 major faults. (I stayed in the middle lane too long and I was under took, this I'd 2 apparently) with a few minors it was classed as a fail. Therefore, he didn't feel I was ready for my test. I reiterated how important this is for me, and he advised we would do another Mock 16/10, if I passed, I would be doing my test 23/10. But now, due to 'unforeseen circumstances'. He is no longer able to work for the foreseeable future. He said another instructor would get in contact, but they didn't that day (Mon). I missed a text on from an instructor the next day (Tue). I contacted him today, and he can no longer do this apparently. I am now forced cancel my test. No new tests until Jan 25. After reading some of these reviews, this seems to be an all to common practice for them. In a nutshell, if you are a nervous driving, I would avoid these. He was saying about squeezing 3 lessons in a 7 day period this week, normal lesson, Mock, normal lesson and then my test. I advise I couldn't afford to this. I felt confident and I just wanted to do my Mock to enable me to do my test, then all this happened. So make of that what you will. I'm not going to give up. But this has left a sour taste in my mouth. Edit: (Reponse) The one star review was the pathetic way CKDS handled things overall. I've already what I had to day. And how do you know I wasn't test ready, my Mock test (1 week before my test) was cancelled due Jack quitting. Jack advise you wasn't ready based on my last assessment. So my Mock gets cancelled and I get this text (attached) Funny that my new instructor thinks I'm test ready with my test after my assessment this afternoon. My rating this stands, if you are not a initially a confident driver or show anxiety, they will rinse you dry.

Fantastic experience: I passed today with 1 driving fault at Upton and it’s all down to Ken Edwards and his amazing teaching skills and endless patience. Being in my 30s, I didn’t pick it up as quickly as most and my biggest hurdle was confidence and keeping cool under pressure. Ken helped me understand driving and never scolded or made me feel stupid for making mistakes, instead he kept calm and explained things in a way I could understand for example ‘X was the wrong move, do Y next time’ etc and gave me the space and trust to try again and again. I honestly could not fault him he is absolutely incredible at his job and a pleasure to sit in a car with for 2 hours a week! I’m going to miss our Sunday lessons and chats but I am so thankful for you giving me this freedom.

Negative experience: Had 12 double lessons for a driver's license exam that was due in June-July 2024. Teacher dropped out on May and informed me that the school with reassign students new teachers, prioritising students that are going for an exam. I never got a single update of the reassignment, thus the exam being cancelled on the day it was meant to happen. I then reached out to the school in September 2024 through their application form online, informing them about the incident and requesting to do a few driving lessons so that I can finally do my exam... Never received a reply... Never. It does not matter how good the tutors are when the customer service and support is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Started manual lessons with no previous experience in November 2023 with Neal I’Anson. Neal was great with me after a proper shaky start and with loads of gaps in my driving due to injuries and holidays. Passed second time with two minors, made up with the service I got through the whole learning process

Fantastic experience: I had 2 instructors previously (pre Covid & not through Chris Kelly) before getting put in touch with my instructor Pete Broadhurst and I couldn’t recommend him enough! Not only is he a great laugh, but he brought my confidence up loads and got me passed 1st time with 12 lessons, alongside some really good car purchase advice - by far the best instructor I’ve had.

Fantastic experience: Deciding between automatic and manual cars, I've had lessons with two lovely instructors at Chris Kelly, Gareth and Steph, and I have nothing but praise for both of them. Gareth is a great instructor and his lessons were very helpful! He knows the Wirral very well and was very adept at figuring out which of my driving skills needed the most exercise and adjusting the routes accordingly. After one of his lessons I always felt "Well, we've done a lot today!" Within the limits of safety he will allow you to make a minor mistake that you can discuss and learn from. Communication with him has always been easy and friendly and the extra resources he provided have also been very useful for the driving test. My first few lessons were with Steph and she's likewise a great instructor with plenty of useful tips to carry over to the test and beyond into my future driving experience. She also provided an eye-opening part of the initial lesson commenting out loud all the information she was taking in and factoring in her driving. Even after I've passed my test, I know I need more experience to get to that level. Thank you both for your help and your friendly and warm approach throughout!

Negative experience: Studied with a Chris Kelly instructor for 6 months right up to my test and then I received a text from her saying she had quit instructing and someone from the office would contact me, nobody ever did and they did not reply to my emails requesting a new instructor. I could not get another instructor so close to my test and had to do it in my own car without any preparation lessons. Really disappointed in the service I have received. EDIT:- This response is untrue as explained in my email that you did not respond to. You were talking about someone completely different!

Fantastic experience: My instructor, Mel made learning a really enjoyable experience. She managed to strike the perfect balance between allowing me to progress at my own pace and giving the occasional nudge to get me out of my comfort zone. She went the extra mile in accommodating my schedule and when it came to booking my test, made it her mission to find a cancellation so I didn’t have to spend more than necessary on extra lessons. I passed first time. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Fantastic experience: Geriatric driver here, passed in my 20s then never drove. Decided to get back in to it now that i'm in my early 40s for practical reasons, so decided to take some refresher lessons. I had the pleasure of Darren King who was both professional and approachable. He had an understanding of my needs (nervous driver, with little confidence in my skills due to the big gap in my learning). Darren took me out and identified the areas I needed to work and whilst also building up my confidence to get back on the road. I would Highly recommend Darren as an instructor, you can't go wrong!!!

The process for getting lessons was really quick and easy and everyone who contacted me was very helpful and friendly. Fantastic experience: I just passed my first driving test today, I’d like to say a BIG thank you to my instructor Chris Burke, I couldn’t make it without him. Chris B is professional, polite, friendly, helpful and humorous, always on time, no last minute cancellation, no drama and with rich local knowledge and experience. Teaching in a very detailed way, and good at explaining things in a way I can understand. Chris B is my second instructor, my first one was an absolutely disaster. There was no teaching ( after 38 hours, I didn’t know how to brake properly, if I didn’t experience it I wouldn’t believe it), but lots of shouting and gaslighting. She also liked to cancel lessons last minute with random ridiculous reasons. She made me feel really small and very depressed, until my colleague recommended Chris B to me. Finally I could get rid of all the negative feelings about driving, instead I started to feel interested in driving with Chris. I really appreciate the time with Chris, he is an excellent and considerate teacher, who can spot my mistakes straight away and also notice if I’m not feeling well emotionally and provide support in time. Again, I will be straightforward to the point, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Chris B! Really appreciate it, best instructor ever!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Unreliable. Instructors cancell lessons and then flake entirely and now I'm left without an instructor, again... customer service couldn't care less either. Also lost out on the block booking discounts because of it EDIT. THEY HAVE NOW CANCELLED THE WHOLE THING!. With nothing but a snarky text despite the instructor having arround 30 lessons booked. So have messed me and him arround.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with Chris Kelly, I had a fantastic instructor, Ali. Ali went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. I would recommend Ali to everyone as she is patient, she is easy to talk to and all-around a lovely person. My journey with Chris Kelly and Ali has been incredibly positive and thanks to Ali’s consistent support, I am now able to drive!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had such an amazing time learning to drive with my instructor Janet murr!! I was dreading learning to drive i was so anxious and put it off for so long but I decided to just go for it and I’ve had the best experience ever! Every time I got in the car I felt so relaxed and even if I made a mistake the atmosphere stayed so calm and we always had a laugh and it was just really fun and over all I’ve really enjoyed learning to drive!! I passed first time with a crash course and I’ve learnt so much! I can’t wait to get driving so thank you so much to my instructor for everything she has taught me!

Amazing patience whenever id do something stupid and really friendly making every lesson comfortable and great reassurance when I took my test.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank my instructor MAL enough for helping me get the confidence and motivation to pass my driving test at the age of 34, I had been on and off driving and always stopped as I struggled with other instructors but Mal was absolutely brilliant. I would recommend him to anyone as he was so patient, kind but also very easy to speak to and help explain things in a way you would understand. Thank you so much you are a credit to Chris Kelly and you’ve changed my life for the better now I can finally drive. I passed first time with just one minor, couldn’t have done it without you!

Fantastic experience: Had Dave G for my driving lessons (automatic) and was passed within 4 months of his instructing. Very professional and friendly instructor who has 7+ years of instructing under his belt to help you pass which made me confident in his teaching approach straight away. Dave was able to push me to achieve the confidence you need to be at the wheel without compromising road safety and awareness. Would recommend to anyone regardless of prior abilities. Passed 2nd time with 2 minors

Fantastic experience: Passed first time with patrick. 2 minors. Think we had about 15 lessons, can't really remember. But I would 100% recommend chris kelly and patrick. I wasn't overly confident that I'd enjoy driving but patrick made it easy for me to learn and enjoy it. Cheers guys

Fantastic experience: Great driving instructors. Very professional, helps you understand mistakes and get your head around driving. I've had numerous instructors and my driving instructor with Chris Kelly (Darren) was the best I've experienced. Not after your money (which I've unfortunately experienced elsewhere) they just want you to pass. Passed at speke with 4 minors and I'm overall really happy with my experience! Highly recommend! Great set of videos on the YouTube channel too which help with difficult roads.
