Off the Kerb Motorcycle Training: Reviews
Negative experience: Unprofessional, Hostile Training Environment I had a deeply uncomfortable experience during my scooter training with Off the Kerb. The instructor, an ex-military man, made constant racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks throughout the session. Instead of focusing on the course, he spent an unreasonable amount of time asking irrelevant pub quiz-style questions, which seemed more about showing off his own knowledge than teaching us anything useful. This behavior made it difficult to concentrate and created an anxious and hostile learning environment. I believe everyone deserves a safe, respectful space to learn, and this was far from it. If you’re considering this training provider, I strongly advise you to ask for a different trainer or seek out an alternative provider. The company should take action to better vet its instructors to ensure professionalism and respect for all trainees.
Fantastic experience: Had a really enjoyable day on my CBT course at Off The Kerb. Our instructor was Peter and all the lessons both on the bike and in the classroom were informative and engaging. When we went out onto the road, I felt confident and well looked after. Would highly recommend doing the training here.
Thanks Paul, glad to hear you enjoyed your CBT training with Peter. We'll be sure to pass on the feedback to him. All the best and safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended no doubt, very professional and a good sense of humor. Thank you Peter!
Negative experience: The treatment was very bad and all the time the trainers were laughing at the students among themselves and the tall trainer is very racist if you are not born in the UK he is very bad and gave me bad motivation and talked to me in a bad way and made me drive in the first row for more than an hour and the person who was with me because he was born here drove only ten minutes he wanted me to show any mistake and deliberately took a long time with me. The coach should be kind and friendly, give you confidence in yourself, and not discourage you. Even if you make a mistake, he should teach you in a good way.
First may I say we are very disappointed that you didn't attempt to reach out to us with any of your concerns and instead just left a 1 star review. We have no idea who you are as you didn't even leave it under your real name, denying us the right to comment on the specifics of your course, which I am assuming was CBT but can't be entirely sure? You are essentially complaining that you received more training than that of the other students, which seems rather strange because training is what you paid for. Safety is our number one priority and if you didn't receive a certificate of completion on the day of your course its because it would have been deemed that you were not yet safe to be out on public roads on your own. As we make clear, a CBT course is not guaranteed and for some, one day is not enough, which is why we offer returns to re-attempt at heavily discounted rates. We operate from one of the most diverse areas in London and would not enjoy the 4.7 star google ratings we have if your claims of racism were actually true. May I suggest that the next time you leave someone a negative review, at least have the common courtesy to leave it in your real name so they have the chance to respond to the specifics of your booking. Many thanks.
Fantastic experience: "The Best CBT Test Ever—More Like a Stand-Up Show Than a Class! ️" I took my one-day CBT test at your driving school, and let me tell you, the whole experience flew by like a breeze. Both instructors are absolute pros, and honestly, I could trust them to teach me to ride a bike, drive a spaceship, or maybe even babysit my pet goldfish. From start to finish, not a single minute passed without laughter. It's like attending a comedy show where you just happen to learn how to ride a motorcycle in between jokes! Seriously, who knew theory could be so interesting? I actually looked forward to it! It's like they turned the boring stuff into a stand-up gig. I mean, who needs Netflix when you can learn theory from these guys? There were so many useful tips and real-life stories about riding on the road that I swear I left the class more knowledgeable than I ever thought possible. And no worries—my English may not be perfect, but I didn’t need to say a word. The instructors were so funny, I barely noticed the language barrier. The lesson felt more like a TED Talk meets Comedy Central, and I absorbed ten times more than any boring lecture I’ve ever sat through. I made a couple of mistakes during the test, but thank goodness they were chill and didn’t make a big deal out of it. So, a massive thank you to everyone for making the day unforgettable! ️ Hope to see you all again soon. With better English, of course! Best wishes, Mister Putin!
Fantastic experience: Can't recommend enough. Great teaching from Peter, delivered with the perfect balance of professionalism and humour.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the training. Safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience without any prior knowledge to riding a bike. Completed my CBT with Nick and Peter, awesome instructors. Easy to understand and excellent communication. Will definitely come back to do my full license.
Thank you, Panos, for taking time to leave a review. We are very glad that you enjoyed the CBT session and look forward to seeing you for further training!
Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to share my feedback on the CBT training I recently completed with both instructors. I had a fantastic experience overall! Both instructors were knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance throughout the training. I appreciated their different teaching styles, which complemented each other well and enriched the learning experience. The hands-on practice was invaluable and really helped me gain confidence in my riding skills.
Thank you for taking time to write a review. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed CBT training with us. Safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Great service, Nick and Richard were amazing, Recommend to everyone
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and the recommendation. Wishing you a safe riding!
Negative experience: Absolutely horrific experience. Booked for my son who is my full time carer. After a horrible chemotherapy session I tried to call to cancel but the lady in the office who ‘works from home’ didn’t answer the phone. After much un professionalism and complete lack of empathy for my situation and my sons they then decided I had not tried to reschedule in time so instead of just changing the appointment they decided to instead just keep my £200. They claim they would have ‘lost that money’ but the course was not full at any point that week (on my recorded call from the member of staff working from home). Absolutely disgusting human beings and now forced into suing them for the return of the money in the county court where I’m told I will win but at great cost to my mental health. These people don’t care about anything but money, please spend your money elsewhere.
Wow, where to start? 1. Our terms are clear, we require 4 days notice before the start of our CBT courses for any cancellation or rescheduling to avoid losing any fees paid. This allows us the time needed to be able to fill your slot with another customer. Your son accepted and signed that he agreed to our terms before making the booking. It is not reasonable to expect us to be able fill a CBT slot on the day of the course itself, which started at 8.30am. 2. CBT courses are limited by law to a maximum group size of just 4 students per instructor, and as such are always booked in advance to run at full capacity on the day. 3. You claimed to have been trying to contact us for 5 days beforehand, yet could provide no evidence of such when we attempted to try to resolve the issue with you. Our call logs also confirmed this to be the case. 4. Our CBT courses are £185.00 not £200.00. 5. WFH has been an acceptable part of many businesses both large and small since the Covid pandemic, so we fail to see any relevance there. 6. It was also explained to you that we do not tolerate harassment or intimidation of our office staff for any reason when they are just trying to do their job conveying company policy to you. We are sorry that you feel you had a bad experience with us, however we feel that it is unfair to try to put the blame solely on us simply for expecting customers to adhere to our terms of service.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service top notch special thanks to John without forgetting Steve and the rest of the team. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback. Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the training. wishing you a safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Passed today! First CBT I’ve done and I’m very surprised! The training was very good I’ve learned a lot from the trainers Peter and Richard. Trainers were very friendly approachable and i would say very good trainers ( not boring). I recommend KERB 101% who wants to take CBT! Peter call me Just in Time and Richard I’m not surprise one time I will see him in the teli program THE CHASE he’s very knowledgeable .. Thank you and all the best! Justine
Thank you for the positive feedback, we will pass it on to the instructors. We are very glad that you enjoyed the CBT session. Wishing you safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Learned to ride safely here, got my full license passed first time - great team, great support. Hope you guys are all doing well
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. happy to hear that you passed first time with us. Wishing you many years of safe and enjoyable riding.
Fantastic experience: Friendly, patient and skillful instructors delivering the CBT theoretical and practical content in a well measured and good humoured manner.
Fantastic experience: Big thank you to Dom and Rich for helping me to get my full bike license. I enjoyed the experience. The training and direct feedback were great. We had fun along the way. Have recommended them to my mates
Thanks Stephen, and a very well done to you for passing your Mod2 today, we very much appreciate the recommendation. Good luck and safe riding !
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience doing my first CBT with Off the Kerb yesterday. I had no experience but by the end of the day I felt very confident on the bike. The instructors have a ton of knowledge and are very patient. I would 100% return in the future and I recommend to other ladies, I felt super comfortable being the only female that day. Thank you!
Thanks Julia. We are thrilled to hear that you had a great first CBT experience with us, and we look forward to you returning in 2 yrs to renew your CBT or maybe even considering a full licence course at some point? Safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Did my module 1 and module 2 test with off the kerb. Would highly recommend them. And bug shout out to Rob who was bery knowledgeable
Fantastic experience: I completed my first CBT last week and it was beyond my imagination! I was nervous at the beginning, but our instructors, Nick and Peter provided us a high-quality training session, which made me feel more confident afterwards! I would recommend Off the Kerb to anyone who wants to learn how to ride a motorbike safely and confidently even if you don't have any experience in riding around London. Thank you all!
You are most welcome! Glad to hear that you passed your CBT today. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Safe riding!
Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved my training and the time I spent at Off The Kerb for my CBT. The instructors were both so lovely and patient with us all, especially Peter Evans! He was extremely helpful and boosted my confidence throughout the day! Since I was the only female that day, I was a bit anxious but by the end of the day I did not want to leave at all! I felt comfortable riding on the main road and excited to come back for more Motorcycle training!
Thank you, Lara, for the positive feedback, we will pass it on to the instructors. We are very glad that you enjoyed the CBT session and look forward to seeing you for further training!
Fantastic experience: I need to give an outstanding review to this place. I walked into this facility for the first time with literally no experience riding a motorcycle. I had never ridden a motorcycle in London, ever. Since then, I completed a CBT course, manual conversion course, a two day 650cc bike course and passed the module 1 and module 2 tests on the first try, for a full unrestricted motorcycle licence! I can only attribute this to the outstanding instructors that guided me throughout the whole course. The instructors were incredibly knowledgable, always engaged and paid a lot of attention to detail. They answered all your questions with care and attention. Riding outside they were constantly giving feedback on everything you do. I was able to pass both my modules on the first try. This company deserves fantastic feedback. A really big thank you to everyone there!
Thanks for your glowing review, we really appreciate it. So glad to have got you through to your full licence from scratch right through to Mod2 with only 2 minors. Well done and safe riding!
Fantastic experience: I recently completed my CBT for motorcycle training at this place, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The motorcycle instructor was incredibly friendly and nice, creating a warm atmosphere that made learning enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Thank you for the positive feedback, we passed it on to the instructors. We are very glad that you enjoyed the CBT session.
Fantastic experience: I extremely recommend Off the Kerb Motorcycle Training to anyone who wants doing CBT and gets more benefits from this training course. Absolutely loved doing my CBT with Tom.
Fantastic experience: I had a full course for a manual bike with them, starting with CBT to the full A licence. I'd never had any experience on manual bikes before but thankfully to the amazing instructors I learned fast. The guys are definitely the best! You will miss their voices on the radio after finishing :) The bikes are also decent quality, pretty new and in very good conditions. I recommend this place
Thanks Pavel and well done passing your Mod2 test today, from zero to hero... and just in time for spring and summer riding! Ride safe!
Fantastic experience: I had my CBT with them on the 4th of May, from the start both Richard and Peter made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The amount of knowledge they had is incredible with years and years of experience, you get used to Richard and his pub quiz questions after a while and it becomes a great laugh overall. They're ability to support you throughout the day and guide you is also incredible.
Thanks for you positive review Ryan. Training environments can seem tedious and at times stressful, so we're glad to hear that our instructors were able to provide an atmosphere of ease in which to learn the skills you'll need to get you through the next two years of safe riding.
Fantastic experience: I just got my CBT today; friendly instructors. The groups are not too big, which makes it easier for new riders to get support. I have passed my theory test and will return for the next steps until I get the entire A. Listen to the instructors and focus on doing things most safely. Thank you!
You are most welcome! Glad to hear that you passed your CBT today. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. you are correct, as with all training, you get as much out f it as you put in, and the priority is safety above all, and we look forward to helping you achieve your next level motorcycle training goals.
Fantastic experience: Dom was an amazing teacher - calm and very knowledgeable. Was a pleasure from start to finish to get a license with his help!
Thanks Daniel, and congratulations on your recent pass with only 3 minors! I'll be sure to pass on your positive feedback to Dom. Wishing you many years of safe & happy riding.
Negative experience: This place is rubbish for the cbt test. 100% not recommended. They do discrimination. And they are greedy people. They will fail you for a reason and ask you to book again for money. *DO NOT BOOK YOUR CBT TEST HERE*
Hi Charry, we do not have any record of a CBT booking under your name anywhere in our system so are not in a position to comment, perhaps you might want to double check you've left your review in the right place and if not then kindly remove it from here? You also might want to speak to the company directly first to perhaps resolve the issue with them before leaving a 1 star review. Thank you in advance.
Fantastic experience: Professional helpful and a good bunch of motivating instructors who have a wealth of knowledge managed to go from completing my CBT Theory, Mod 1 and Mod 2 in just under 3 months with their help!
Thanks Boris, it was a pleasure getting you through! We hope you have many years of safe & enjoyable riding on your new licence. All the best from all at OTK
Fantastic experience: I got the cbt today, it was a really super place, It wasn't that difficult because I had a car licence, but don't worry, they will teach you everything. they manage to turn even those stressful moments into fun , they are very good at their job, I'm glad I chose this place, I was a little nervous before I set off, but I don't know how they understand, they calm you down with the feedback they give, I am the mechanic one:)) Thank you so much for everything, Definitely recommend
Thanks for your review which we always appreciate. glad to hear that you had a pleasant experience completing your CBT with us today. I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback to our instructors! Safe riding!
Fantastic experience: Thank you for being the best instructors ever! With your guidance and patience you taught me the skills to become a safe rider. Thank you for giving me the confidence to ride a motorbike for the first time and for helping me overcome my nervousness. Training day was very informative, well-structured and I really appreciated your encouragement. I have tried doing CBT before with another company, nothing to compare. Was given less than 2 hours time and was asked if i was confident enough to go on the road and this had put me off for two years. 07/03/24 With Off the Kerb !! it’s a complete different experience. I was given the whole day to learn and practise with no rush at all or pressure. I would highly recommend Off the Kerb to anyone doing CBT or full license. You are definitely not going to regret it !
Thanks Magda. We were so pleased with your progress from start to finish. Believe it or not, it's cases like yours which provide the most satisfaction for our instructors as it reflects a job truly well done. Wishing you safe & happy riding and look forward to seeing you again should you ever decide to go for a full licence.
Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT training today in the pouring rain and had the best experience. Richard and Peter are great instructors and you can tell they enjoy what they do and are passionate about it. They have a wonderful sense of humour and are hugely patient with everyone. I would highly recommend Off The Kerb to beginners and experienced riders. Thanks guys!
Thanks for your honest review, glad to hear that you had a positive experience despite the horrible weather. Hopefully a decent spring/summer is just around the corner and you can enjoy your new CBT licence. Safe riding!
Negative experience: so this is my honest review, I have rode motorcycle my whole life my father used to race Enduro have grown up around bikes. when I first contacted the service they tried to sell me on a 900 some pound motorcycle course which i wasn't interested in. I only wanted to take the minimal requirement of the day course that was need to use a bike to take the test with, the A class license consist of 2 part mod 1 and mod 2 so this is two seperate days. Right away on the phone when try to arrange this, they made it difficult to just set this up and constantly told me that ı basically didn't know anythıng without even meeting. Eventually ı was able to bypass the full driving course which i didn't need, and just took the daily course that consisted of using their bikes for the test because you really cant bring your own bike to the test without a trailer etc. which is definitely a hassle. I did my CBT and Mod 1 with them. The driving instructors are very knowledgeably but did have this kind of gatekeeper mentality, and at times even seemed to bully and make fun of some of the other students, which from a place of authority is just sad, that individuals really have to deal with this just to pass their motorcycle license. even me personally I had to bite my tongue and swallow my pride when I felt some things were said that was lack of basic respect. But this is bike culture and can be quite normal at times. My Real compliant is for the individuals at the office and their utter disrespect on the phone/emails and lack of integrity when conducting business and matters in general. I do know the DVS is having problems with instructors but the office kept pushing me around from one date to another got very irritating, I am a physiotherapist and caring for 50 to 60 patients a week so juggling scheduling is hard enough as it for me. They asked me if I wanted to schedule mod 2 ı saıd ok but wasnt able to pay untıl the 10th. they agreed and ı set my schedule blockıng out the date. then agaın emaıled to reschdule askıng ıf ı coud move ı saıd no and that ı was getting tired of jumping loops for them because ıt was effecting my patients care. the automatically starting accusing me of being aggressive and blah blah blah. tired of these guys takıng up space ın my mınd at thıs point. anyways long short theses guys dont believe in customer service and act more lıke a money grab and lack ıntegrity ı told them ı was talkıng my money else were. I think you should do. I wanna see good people win not jackal's. Anya- Im guessing is a eastern European lady and was very pushy and dismissive on the phone, and generally just knows better than you tone on the phone. in email much better can't say i really had a problem. Pete- wow this guy is a joke a realy A class .... fill in the blank I told him no ı dont to want change my dates anymore and was getting sick of getting tossed around and then he started acting like İ was the one creating problems . not goıign to give it anymore thougth realy all they care about is taking your money. Go find another school best advice I can give.
Your review perfectly illustrates your attitude while training with us. You gave the impression from the outset that motorcycle training was beneath you, and that the whole process was an unnecessary inconvenience, yet despite instructors advising you that there was a lot of work to do correcting all the bad habits you have ingrained in you over your years of riding abroad, for reasons best known to yourself you refused to address or make any significant effort to correct any of these important riding issues. You failed to grasp that riding the way you have been used to “your whole life” is not what the DVSA examiner conducting your test is going to want to see. No doubt you will discover this harsh reality for yourself from the outcome with whoever is unfortunate enough to continue with your training. Hopefully it won’t take too many costly re-attempts at your Mod2 for that to sink in. It was made clear to you when we agreed to book your training slots on an ad-hoc basis that this would result in a significantly cheaper course than our standard fixed courses: 5 day DAS for £870 instead of £1050. Therefore to insinuate that we are somehow out to rip you off seems grossly unfair to the point of absurdity. This arrangement, mutually convenient for us too, was on the understanding that there was to be some flexibility on your part as you would be notified with short notice test slots, also to be understanding of the current issues we have been experiencing with tests being cancelled by Uxbridge test centre at very short notice. It is obvious that you wanted to have your cake and eat it too. We do not tolerate rude and aggressive behaviour towards any of our staff either in person, via phone or email correspondence, and we reserve the right to refuse our services to anyone who displays it. Despite this whole unfortunate turn of events, we hope that you will reconsider and reflect upon your attitude to motorcycle training, and we wish you every success in your ongoing motorcycle training endeavours.
Negative experience: I’ve tried to call and email off the kerb to get a new cbt certificate but no one ever gets back to me
Hi JT sorry to hear that you can't get through to us, you could have left a message, or emailed us and we would have got back to you instead you decided to give us a 2 star review because we didn't answer the phone to you straight away on Friday.......
Fantastic experience: I just passed my full A licence today thanks to the whole team at Off The Kerb. Dom, Rich and Peter are great. They take the time to explain to you how to improve your riding and they get you ready within a couple of days to sit and pass your MOD 1 and MOD 2. I highly recommend this place if you'd like to pass your motorbike licence.
Fantastic experience: Thank you very much Off the Kerb for my direct access training (and previous CBTs). Instructors - Dom and Rich - were top notch and made the experience not only fruitful- with straight passes - but also pleasant and entertaining. Very well done guys!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. happy to hear that you enjoyed training with us. Wishing you many years of safe and enjoyable riding.
Fantastic experience: hello, did my egzam yesterday and passed 1st time. Full A. if i could give 6 star i would. so happy i have choosen this school and lucky to have great fun during training with Richard and Dominic. On Both egsams MOD 1 and 2 i was with Richard and here i would like to thank him personaly for great sens of humor great advises and helping me in such an easy way to achive my goal of full cat A. thank you so much! i would recomend this school to everyone who ask !
Fantastic experience: I would give this training centre more than 5 stars if it were possible. The CBT course and the instructors were absolutely brilliant, I have never felt more safe and informed when being taught how to do something that is so unfamiliar to me. By the end of the day, I felt and still feel very confident in my new skills. Worth every penny that was paid, highly recommend booking with this centre. Thank you so much guys!
Fantastic experience: Great experience getting my full motorcycle license with Off the Kerb. Instructors were great, patient and gave me plenty of feedback to improve my riding and prepare for the tests. I’ve read some comments about value for money, so I thought I’d come back and add this. I think it’s fair to say that if you are going to get your full license, it is a very different experience than getting a full car license. You are looking at taking your on-the-road assessment after a couple of days of intensive riding with an instructor, as opposed to the experience I think most people have when learning to drive a car which would be a longer period of time that is spread hourly over weeks or months. That’s a feature of learning to drive a motorcycle in the UK with any riding school, as opposed to a bug unique to Off the Kerb. Having browsed other schools before choosing Off the Kerb, they are competitively priced and the instructors are all experienced riders. I think it’s also fair to say that you will get as much out of the experience as you put into it. Dom and Richard spent time talking with me before and after our rides to discuss what I needed to focus on, but I also asked a lot of questions to follow up. Neither instructor ever discouraged me from asking questions, even when they were simple ones and I benefited hugely from their responses and welcoming attitude to my questions. If you are looking at schools to get your full license, I’m very comfortable recommending these guys.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to do a CBT had an amazing day with both instructors.. Facilities to use the loo if needed Haven't been on a bike for over 10 years or so... Filled me and the rest of the group with lots of confidence, I honestly wouldn't go elsewhere.. If your new or shaking off a bit of rust I couldn't recommend a better place to do your motorbike/scooter training. The on the road element was fantastic and a beautiful day to ride on my local roads. Thanks for a brilliant day.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Off The Kerb. I did my full DAS course here and passed my Mod 2 a month ago. Dom was an excellent instructor! Thank you mate!
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this training school enough! I went from having rode a motorbike once to achieving my full licence with them. As a novice they suggested it was best that I took my CBT on an automatic and then complete the gear conversion course to give me maximum time on the road with an instructor which I think was a great idea. After completing this, I started my MOD 1&2 training which was very comprehensive and gave me all the confidence I needed to complete both exams. Peter, Richard and Dom are all incredibly knowledgable and each have their own way of putting you at ease on the bike whilst progressing your learning in a safe and positive way. I am very grateful for all their help, and getting me ready for the road!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved doing my CBT with Richard! It rained all day and he still managed to keep the group entertained with his incredible knowledge of basically everything! Fantastic skills and a very funny way of delivering what could be a long day. Thanks so much!
Fantastic experience: Best place to go to complete your CBT. Special mention to my motorcycle instructor Nick, who made me feel super confident as a first timer, will definitely be back to complete my further training and conversion tests.
Negative experience: Ok experience, not worth the money though. The small training space creates the perfect conditions for a CBT breeding ground. Mixing multiple big bike license students into this sparks chaos as the training shifts from one-to-one guidance into a factory churning out riders that may or may not be fully confident or road safe. The term 'training' is not necessarily an accurate marketing term to use. The quality of training is basic for what you would expect, but more of the trainer's time is spent watching from a distance and having a chat with the other students and trainers. The feedback I received was mostly initiated by myself, and not always useful. Simply repeating the same thing with no additional instructions proved to not be the most helpful learning tool. The biggest benefit of this investment is the ability to use a 650cc bike with insurance, and some road exposure. The time allowed at the test centre when preparing for mod 1 is minimal, approximately 10-15 minutes each over 2 days, and the focus is primarily on high speed manoeuvres. The conditions are attempted to be replicated back at the training base, which is fair enough, but with poor quality feedback and lack of one-to-one mentorship, this makes it difficult to progress. Especially when slow riding was concerned, there was limited guidance on how to improve the bike control for exercises such as the figure of 8. The frustrating lack of quality tuition for mod 1 led me to seek further training elsewhere, and with this I was able to master the slow manoeuvring within a couple of hours and pass my mod 1 on the same morning. For mod 2, it was made clear on the phone that the trainers would run through each of the show me/tell me questions. Thankfully, I had already prepared for these in advance, but for other students who hadn't, there was no time at all spent on this from the trainers. After a reminder about this on the same day leading up to the mod 2 exam, I was informed we would go through it at the test centre. This did not happen. In addition, very little feedback was given for mod 2 by one of the instructors, and only right at the end of our lunch break, moments before heading to the test centre for mod 2. Much of the general feedback for areas of improvement were initiated by myself. Overall, there are some benefits but considering the cost of the training, the quality of training was average and I would have expected more one to one focus with each student and a greater sense of professionalism.
Hi Marcella, thank you very much for your detailed view of your training. We will take this on board and mention it to your instructors. We hope you enjoy your motorcycling, and congratulations on your pass.
Fantastic experience: Richard and Dominic were relaxed and professional instructors that made a first-time difference under fell safe and well at ease. Would definitely return for further training.
Fantastic experience: I booked a full bike course with OFFTHEKERB , they were extremely busy , I had to wait a long time , I was annoyed at first , however it was worth the time waiting for , had a great experience, not only learning but having a great time with the lads their , all professionals and great to be around them , I was trained by all of the instructors their but my favourite has to be Dom what a legend, 1000% recommend them for bike training , best prices too compared to the other schools , they are super busy but worth the wait. Forgot to mention Rich, what a legend , Hostest truth I will book a fake day ride just to go out with him and have a laugh. Thank you Peter and the rest of the team.
You did it Paris!! well done and a well deserved pass
Fantastic experience: Great place to do the training for your license. I had the 4 day DAS training booked and passed both MOD 1 and 2 first time. Both trainers I dealt with were fantastic, always quick to offer advice and answer any questions you have. Richard was especially hilarious and has a way of making you learn from your stupid mistakes while still making you laugh. Really happy I chose this place to do my training.
Fantastic experience: Went from being a non rider never been on a motorbike to passing my full Cat A test within 3 weeks and scored zero minors on my mod 2 test thanks to the guys here. During my time I had Pete with my CBT and Dom and Rich for my DAS course. Each day was informative, fun and relaxed. You get what you want out of it. They cover all the essentials but if you ask more questions they have all the answers. Rich has a wonderful way of calming the nerves through his driving historical tours of the localities and it was super appreciated.
Fantastic experience: From CBT to any CC in 2 months. Thank you so much! Caring and fun staff, easy location to get to. Lots of ride time, helped me pass all sections first go.
Fantastic experience: Been going to OTK for 10 years and finally got around to doing my full bike licence. Great training in an informal environment. Thanks to Dominic and Richard for getting me through.
Fantastic experience: I have completed my CBT here twice. The course is well organized and the instructors give you all the training needed to get you started on a motorbike/moped. The instructors are very friendly and very knowledgeable . Highly recommended. Thanks
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT training in June 2023, and I was very happy with the trainers and how the training was given. The trainers explained everything I needed to know, I passed my theory test a couple of days after doing my CBT, and I will be booking my full motorbike training with them. Update 01.12.2023 I have completed my CBT, Module 1 Test, and Module 2 Test with Off the Kerb Training, I had instructors Dom or Richard guide me through everything I needed to know and do while I was in the process of working towards my full unrestricted motorbike license, before my training day started, Dom or Richard explained fully what I would be doing on the course and Dom or Richard answered all my questions that I had, I have spoken on the telephone with Anya or Peter in the office who take the bookings/payments and I was always given the correct information I needed, during my experience with Off the Kerb Training I was always treated with dignity and respect and I will always recommend them. I passed my full unrestricted motorbike license on 30.11.2023 Best regards Clare Nash
Fantastic experience: Fantastic instructors with a wealth of experience & knowledge. The experience was friendly & professional - would very highly recommend for anyone looking to do a CBT or full license.
Fantastic experience: Off the Kirb were fantastic a supportive begining to end. I had the pleasure of being trained by Richard who was brilliant, not only was he a great teacher he made the traing fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend doing your training with them.
Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic time with Off the Kerb! Have completed my CBT all the way to full bike licence with them. Passed everything first time thanks to the instructors I had. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Incredible training by Adam, Dom and Richard. Passed the full bike licence with a lot of confidence after their guidance. Thank you guys
Fantastic experience: Very Friendly , Funny while also giving you literally all the information you would need when being on the road with informative talks making sure you understand everything. Was a great day appreciate everything they taught me for my first time on a motorcycle. Mr Wellington
Fantastic experience: Adam is the best instructor Off The Kerb; laid back, calm, very supportive, approachable, knowledgeable with good sense of humour. My CBT day was successful thanks to his natural teaching skills and patience. Highly recommended!
Negative experience: I didn't do the training The coach asked me to read the plate number from 2 meters I did read it correct but was the wrong car. I don't have problems with my eyes. He asked me to make a eye test. I did it immediately they said I don't need glasses. I lost £185 in 5 minutes He lied to me. He says I can change the appointment after I bring the docume
Fantastic experience: Just done my CBT today and I passed! The team here were amazing and friendly! Shoutout to Richard - incredible instructor, will definitely come back for my A2.
Fantastic experience: A massive thank you to the whole team at Off The Kerb, it’s been a truly brilliant experience and I can’t thank you guys enough. Nick who breezed me through my CBT all those moons ago and just happens to be a brilliant guy. My DAS training was spent mostly with Dom, who is the legend of all instructors! He leaves nothing out when he’s training you and he sees absolutely bloody everything you do when your out on the road with him!! (Obviously in a good way) If your lucky and you get him on a good day he’ll let you buy him breakfast at his local cafe, Oh and he likes a couple of sugars in his coffee! Thank you Dom, couldn’t of done it without you. If you get Richard your in for a big treat. This guy, not only a brilliant instructor but a plethora of knowledge of the local land marks in the area. His specialty is History and Geography… This man is a riding encyclopaedia. There were times he had me in bits as he’s talks to himself in the third person… what else can you do with 1 way radio!!! Thank you guys for getting me through my DAS. A licence first time. Best Wishes Ian
Fantastic experience: Great relaxed instructors, well maintained bikes, lovely atmosphere. Richard will give you historical pub quiz facts till your ears pop but it all helps to reduce tension and improves your riding. Anya in the office is great too. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: waste of time and money no giving any training straight away they taking test. they are randomly selecting candidate to pass cbt and very rude trainer for who is take cbt for first time i recommend to not go there its just waste of money and time . go somewhere eles
Fantastic experience: Behalf Mr (Arkin Ouchouz ) Richard Was Really Helpful With my CBT exceptional Teaching And Training Thanks to Dom As well appreciated Guys see you soon with Further Training…. Arkin
Negative experience: A good company is measured when things go wrong! That’s what happened to me 3 days before the course I had a bike accident and an emergency first operation, contact then on day of training expecting understanding and hopefully part refund instead I got a £20.00 voucher if I booked with them again. It is astonishing how the level of judgement can go so low ..to me sounded like the flea trying to spread the plague in present London. No matter their reply which I’m sure they will try to rectify no does justice to the fact that SOB like them make our society uncaring
Fantastic experience: Dominic & Richard were both great instructors and a good sense of humour and patience to boot. Anya was helpful was also patient & understanding in the office. After doing my CBT, I knew this was the place to return too to do the full access, and even though I had to wait a while to get a slot it was worth it. I would recommend & thank you again.
Fantastic experience: Great instructors, I had a blast learning and riding around over 4 days - I can’t recommend enough! Managed to squeeze me in, just before my CBT expired and I passed full bike licence from first time.
Fantastic experience: Good motorcycle instructors in London are hard to come by, trust me. Luckily Off the Kerb has three, so big shout out to Richard, Dom and Adam for all your support during my CBT and DAS. Passed my Mod 1 and 2 first time. Forever grateful to Off the Kerb and their top team!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant experience with the Off the curb guys. Fantastic instructors, friendly atmosphere, just pure joy. The instructors were very professional, punctual, and approachable. I would also like to say that Richard is a walking encyclopaedia and if I ever decide to go on ' Who wants to be a millionaire ' , he will be a friend who I would ring. I will definitely book my DAS as I don't want to ride around with a "Loser" sticker on my scooter. Let's just hope that they have available slots in the near future. Enzo
Fantastic experience: Off the Kerb (White City) were fantastic and I would strongly recommend them for doing motorcycle tests/training. I went from never having ridden a motorbike to first time passes on the CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 in 3.5/4 days. The courses were cheaper than others I looked at and easier to book onto. The courses themselves were great with riders only progressing when they are ready and confident. All the instructors are very approachable and great at providing advice and tips on how to improve. Richard in particular was fantastic and he has very helpful across the 4 days. His pub quiz knowledge is also an added bonus that kept the days entertaining. Many Thanks to the whole team. Best Rory
Fantastic experience: Awesome! If you live anywhere west of Trafalgar Square this is the school to go to. Richard and Adam were a great team of instructors. I've just completed my CBT and it was a great day. The time just flew by which is usually a good sign. Not only was Richard a great and patient instructor but he was also interesting, entertaining and enlightening. Do a CBT with Richard Beardwell and you'll see what I mean.
Fantastic experience: Very nice, very respectful and friendly people!, Les, Richard and Nick they’re all amazing, they even was very kind with the guy(Hassan) who arrived half an hour late! I will definitely highly recommend them to everyone!, they are lovely
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at the CBT course. The instructors were well organised, professional and encouraging. They provided personalised feedback throughout the day, helping me make the right adjustments to gain more confidence and skills. I particularly appreciated the strong emphasis on safety.
Fantastic experience: Very good service. The instructors make you comfortable during the training (no stress). They also teach you about general interesting topics. They are both professional and friendly. It's an excellent company. Thank you very much.
Fantastic experience: Did CBT with them and then a 4 day DAS a couple of month later (passed MOD1/MOD2 at the first attempt). Dom and Richard are both fantastic instructors and very nice people to spend time with. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn and pass Mods 1 and 2. Dom and Rich are terrific instructors. Highly knowledgeable and experienced, particular regarding the Uxbridge area where the testing is centred. Very enjoyable process too. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: I took my CBT (passed first time) and then did a DAS course with Richard and Dom less than three months later. I failed my first Mod 1 (touched the ground) but passed second time and then passed my Mod 2 first time with a few minors. All of which is a reflection on the patience and skill of the instructors in getting a novice to a passable level in short order and good value. Praise also to Anya and Peter who were extremely supportive in getting me test dates in the face of Covid, Christmas, and last minute cancellations. I’m not in the habit of writing public reviews but these guys deserve the highest praise. Thank you all, and see you in the road!
Thanks for the review Jamie and we are really glad you enjoyed your experience with us. Get a couple of months riding under your belt and you can come and do one of our trail riding days down in Surrey, its a great way to spend a day!
Negative experience: The worse experience I ever receive! Since the morning the instructor was rude and racist, he kept telling me I'm very bad driver in the front of other drivers, he also was shouting on me and put me under stress, and I felt very bad and that he will not pass me. He said to me the driving in the UK not same as your country. In the practical test outside I drove more than 35 minutes compare to the first trainer who drove only 10 minutes. Lastly the Bluetooth headphone wasn’t working properly all time and because of that I couldn’t hear his instructions 2 times. Surprisingly, in the end of the day he told me I done well just to improve small points, and he asked me to rebook, is it about money making system???
Fantastic experience: Quality instructors at competitive prices. Wanted to do a Module 2 DAS motorcycle licence. Off the kerb offered the best date availability compared to a couple other schools I searched for, and offered the most competitive prices. Other schools would also require you first take lessons with them first. Not Off The Kerb. Happy to say I passed which is a testament to the quality instructors at this school. Also this was the closest training school to my home. Very central in west London. Thanks Richard!!!
Fantastic experience: Best trainers in the UK - very enjoyable and entertaining while also getting the CBT and full License confidently on the first attempt. Head office was good, didn’t seem fully flexible at first but ultimately met all my requests (doing Test on consecutive dates). Very recommendable overall.
Fantastic experience: I have done my CBT twice here now and each time has been a joy, even when I didn't get great news the first time around. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my full motorcycle license. One of the instructors loves a quiz so be prepared for some early morning quiz questions, which is great for lightening the mood.
Thanks For your review Michael, unfortunately a lot of students can't seem to accept they may need more than 1 day to pass their CBT. We look forward to training you for your DAS, oh and brush up on your general knowledge for the inevitable quiz!
Fantastic experience: Very good training institute Got my full A motorbike license Very friendly instructors Richard and Dom both are very friendly I was always asking questions and they were always happy to help. Just before the test the way Dom advised me is like the same way when parents advised their children. Thank you very much off the kerb team.
Fantastic experience: I have done CBT course back in October 2020. The course was excellent, thanks to Adam who is a brilliant instructor. He was informative, friendly, knowledgeable with great sense of humour. I am very happy that I had this course at that place and defiantly receomend it to everyone
Fantastic experience: Best place to do your CBT. Lovely team who are very professional yet extremely friendly and hilarious. I was grouped with Richard who was absolutely amazing at his work and taught me more than I thought I’d ever learn. He made us go round twice just to ensure we get a safer understanding and not to forget the flash quiz he’d give me out of no where Overall, I’d say the service and professionalism in this establishment is extremely high and your guaranteed to learn. 10/10
Fantastic experience: After doing the CBT several times, I finally got around to doing the full bike licence. Was very nervous but the training with Dom and Richard was very thorough and I passed module 1 and 2.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible! don’t hesitate to book with off the kerb. Richard and Adam are the best, not only in knowledge but also in their training techniques. My first time riding on the road and thanks to these guys i had the best and safest day possible
Fantastic experience: If you are thinking of learning to ride a motorcycle look no further. Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The whole team are brilliant, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and will helped me get my CBT through to passing my MOD2. Can't recommend them highly enough!
Fantastic experience: The team at Off The Kerb are great and really know their stuff when it comes to motorcycle training. The instructors are patient and able to find and correct any bad habits from years of riding on a CBT. The kit they use is fantastic and the 750cc are really fun to ride.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant instructors. Did my CBT here with Adam and Richard. As an absolute novice to any motorised vehicles, they made me feel at ease - making what could conceivably be a stressful experience tremendous fun - and gave me the toolset to get me riding.
Fantastic experience: Did my CTB here and am very pleased with the service. Dave was a great instructor and made all the activities pleasant and enjoyable whilst giving everyone lots of useful feedback on how to improve!
Fantastic experience: Passed my MOD 1 today. Only been on a bike 3 days. Dom was a fantastic instructor I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. The company more widely is also great, they are always happy to talk on the phone to make arrangements to work around you. I personally couldn’t have asked for more. Bring on the MOD 2. Thanks guys. Well passed my Mod 2 today first time, All thanks to Dom!! thank you.
Fantastic experience: Did my first CBT with these guys years ago and sent my son to them too. Just passed Mod 1 and 2 first time with minimal minor faults. Not down to my knowledge but a great instructor in Dom, picking up every possible niggle or fault that might come up in the tests. Dom was always positive and encouraging but gave very clear feedback to ensure I knew what was needed to pass the tests. One of Dom's pieces of wisdon on the last pre Mod 2 ride out saved me from a certain fail. Thanks Dom!
Fantastic experience: I've just finished my Full Bike License saga. I'm very grateful to the instructors. I was always amazed by their ability to recall during the debrief all the details of the prior ride and provide specific advice to the person. They create a pleasant learning environment and let you enjoy your ride.
Fantastic experience: Thank you Adam and Robin for the great day of motorbiking knowledge. What great instructors they are. They fill you with a load of theoretical information (qb) and practical tips to drive safely on the roads. Highly recommend Off the Kerb for CBT.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely perfect! Completed my CBT here an hour ago, brilliant trainers. They take it slow and explain everything needed in detail. both great instructors and know exactly what they're talking about. Great banter as well. Great learning atmosphere. Thank you both. (Previously did part of my CBT at another training school which didn't allow me to complete it) another great point is the training site, Enough space to get speed up and practice what you're doing.
Fantastic experience: My friend and I chose this place to have our course with. All the staff are amazing, very friendly and communicative. They are also extremely patient and provide with an amazing feedback, allowing learners to improve. Thank you to both Dom and Adam for the experience!
Fantastic experience: Did my first CBT with them and got it renewed with them again yesterday. I had Dom two years ago and Adam yesterday. Both very competetent, helpful and patient instructors. I am extremely happy with their service and would definitely use again and again. Adam was extremely helpful yesterday with my CBT and took the time to slowly explain and make sure I understand everything to ensure I am safe on the roads. He even went out of his way to explain and show me how geared bikes work although I was doing my CBT on a auto scooter. I would reccomend anyone beginner or not to use their service as their quality and teaching is excellent! Will definitely be seeing them soon if I go for an A2 license!
Fantastic experience: YOU WANT TO PASS GO TO THIS PLACE YOU WILL PASS 100 % EVEN IF YOU NEVER RIDDEN A MOTOR BIKE . I want to highly recommend THIS CENTRE ! 7 OUT OF 7 PEOPLE WE PASSED IN ONE DAY ! IN THE OTHER 2 CENTRES WHERE I TRIED TO PASS AND I WENT TO I HAD ISSUES WITH HEARING THE DIRECTIONS ON THE HEADPHONE IN THE HELMET, AND GUES WHAT , OF THE KERB HAVE THE BEST COMUNICATING DEVICE IN LONDON. And No ONE WILL SHOUT TO YOU THOSE GUYS ARE IN FULLY PEACE, . And THE BIKES ARE GREAT! AND THERE IS NO ANY PLACE EASIER TO RIDE THAN WHITE SITY .
Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend. I’ve sent my brother and 2 of my friends to this test school for their tests. The instructors are the best in London, they really take time to improve your skills and make sure you are confident and safe on the road. I did my CBT with Adam and thought he was very attentive and professional, he really prepared me for the full license. Great motorbikes if you’re looking to do you’re full license, Suzuki SV was just a dream to ride. MOD 1 and MOD 2 with Dom, who was just the best. He went out of his way to make sure that I was 100% comfortable and confident with all parts of the tests, made me practice until every move was perfect and was really supportive when I got very stressed and nervous prior to my tests, putting me at ease and giving me the confidence to pass both tests on the first go. I’m now fully licensed and can’t wait to get my first big bike! Thanks guys (also Stevie and John) for giving me the best experience I could have wished for!
Fantastic experience: Great CBT course run by Adam and Dave. I did my CBT on an automatic. I had never been on a bike before so had no idea what I was doing. They were really patient and helped build up my confidence and skills. There were 6 other riders - some riders were on geared, others on automatic. The morning is a mix of theory and practical skills in the car park, and the afternoon, if Dave and Adam deem you ready and safe, it's riding on the road. I'd recommend Off The Kerb for CBT. Nice guys and good instructors who really want you to enjoy yourself as well as be safe.
