Fantastic experience: I recently completed my CBT with Toby then Des and have to say it was absolutely excellent in terms of the service! Toby was very thorough and ensured you were keeping to standard whilst giving good constructive feedback! Des took us out on the road and was extremely informative with a great teaching style to really help provide confidence and support when learning the ropes on the road! Tony (the owner?!) was walking around checking on people throughout the training and having a good laugh with all at the Center! I have already decided I will go back for my full license in the near future due to the level of teaching! Nothing but good things to say and I can’t recommend it enough!!

Fantastic experience: Toby and Des got me through new rider training and my cbt with GREAT patience and I'm now out riding around with more confidence. Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Saferide enough for helping me to get my DAS licence. From Tony (who runs the place) to Sue (Saferide’s coordinator) to Holland Kirke (my instructor), they are all a highly commendable team. Having done my CBT with another school, I would say that Saferide were definitely far superior in their training methods. Holland's patience and persistence certainly paid off in providing me with the right insight, training and confidence to successfully pass both MOD 1 and MOD 2 with minimal faults. Their 5-day DAS course gave me the much needed knowledge and experience that allowed me to be fully prepared for both tests by the end of this training. The training also took in a day at the test centre on the very circuit where the MOD 1 test was to be held. This allowed me to gain test condition experience that was invaluable for my MOD 1 prep. Beside showing total professionalism during training, the team are light hearted and friendly off the pitch. Tony’s one liners are legendary!!! I would thoroughly recommend Saferide to everyone looking to gain their Motorcycling credentials.

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous on my first day of training for my DAT but John and his team quickly eliminated those nerves and thanks to John I have passed my test very talented trainers and very chilled and funny I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my DAS yesterday and I can't praise enough Saferide for everything they taught me. I did my CBT 2 months ago and had roughly 10 hours of experience on a 125 before going for the DAS. Quite a challenge I was ready to embrace. Ian, my instructor for the DAS, gave me everything I needed to succeed in the best way possible. I can’t thank him enough for his professionalism, kindness and joyfulness, being strict when needed because he cares! The team (Des for new learner training / Holland for off road CBT / Tony for on road CBT / Ian for DAS) has been brilliant and you could go to Saferide without any hesitation.

Fantastic experience: Came here to do extra training and retake my mod 2, as I’d failed twice previously with another company/bike school and although it was my own fault for failing the tests, the previous bike school didn’t give me good enough training specifically to me and my weak points as well as book my tests in weeks after training which wasn’t helpful (flying colours Eastbourne) , which we ironed out in 1 day of training with saferide (my instructor was Ian, very friendly, but assertive so was really good at his job and a great guy in general) I then took my test the day after the training, and passed first time this time with these guys compared to the 2 failures previous with the other school and different test centre. So overall these guys really made the difference and showed me what a proper bike school is like with real one to one training and great communication throughout. Sue was super helpful going through and sorting everything from the start with me that needed to be done for the test, even called outside of working hours on her birthday to solve a problem we had with the booking, and Ian was a great instructor and really helped me fix any riding issues I had, so that I could have the best chance at passing my test. If you’re looking to book any kind of motorcycle training and tests I wouldn’t look anywhere else as these guys really stood out for me with their professionalism and how they train their students. Thank you to everyone at SafeRide for helping me pass my das, and getting my full licence.

Fantastic experience: If thinking of taking your CBT, use these guys. The teacher trainer Toby was everything you’d hope and want for. Friendly, easy going, kind and ultimately trained us all to successfully complete our CBT. Perfect group size, great atmosphere in what can be a long hard day. The day ride with Ian was also fantastic, he was incredibly patient, open and friendly, I cannot fault this company at all, even when the rain was hammering it down out of nowhere they gave us waterproofs and that friendly humour to get on with it and enjoy ourselves. they were absolutely fantastic.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant experience and welcoming environment! First many thanks to Holland who helped me pass my CBT. He made it very enjoyable whilst also giving pointers for my upcoming big bike test. Great stuff! And a massive thanks to Ian who was my instructor for DAS. He was friendly and super professional. Everything about the course and the way he delivered it was geared towards preparing for modulars 1 & 2 (the two tests to get the big bike licence) and I couldn't have been in better hands. Practice practice practice. By the end both myself and my biking partner were well drilled with what we needed to do. And I passed both modules first time and got my license. Over the moon. Fantastic experience: I'd never ridden a bike until I did the 2-hour new rider course with Des, followed by my CBT with Des and Holland a couple of weeks later. The whole experience has been really good, with great facilities and friendly, patient instruction. I recommend SafeRide to anybody. I'll be booking my DAS as soon as I've got some practice in on a 125! Edit: Now, two months later, I've completed my 5-day DAS with a pass thanks to Saferide and specifically John, whose tuition was spot-on. Saferide provide training within the actual Module 1 test compound which was incredibly useful for getting a feel for the real thing. John knows lots of the test routes for Module 2 and we'd practiced them thoroughly as well before the test. Huge credit to Sue on the phones for being so flexible and helpful while I was trying to organise it all. An unsung hero behind the scenes. I'd still recommend Saferide for any kind of motorbike training!

Fantastic experience: I had a great day doing my CBT renewal, Des was a patient instructor with a sense of humour and was accommodating. The test itself was as you'd expect, being professional and informative. We went for a nice long ride and Des being in my ear via Comms was quick to instruct me on my training as we went. Being a CBT, their main concern is to be sure you're safe unsupervised and I believe Safe ride do this perfectly. Many thanks guys

Fantastic experience: Just completed my DAS course with Saferide and passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time! This was mainly helped by the amazing instruction and support from our instructor Holland, throughout the five day course. The company are very professional, from the staff that work there to the facilities, bikes and equipment they have available. Would not hestitate to recommend Saferide, at whatever level you need to start from. They even run a basic mechanics course, which may be next on the tick list! Thanks Saferide!

Fantastic experience: I’m a little late writing this review, but I’ve just booked on for my full DAS course with SafeRide after a brilliant CBT back in May. Tony was a great instructor, calm, clear and patient and had an excellent teaching style. Cracking jokes the whole time helping you feel relaxed. I went in with zero experience and passed the CBT with no issues on a manual bike which is a testament to his training. Really looking forward to the DAS and getting my full licence next week!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Saferide Motorcycle & Scooter Training. The staff are friendly, professional, and kind. The school has a great private space to practice off the road for both CBT and DAS courses. The bikes are well looked after by the staff too. After riding an electric 50cc bike for a while I decided to upgrade to a full A license. I did a "geared up" course then a CBT with the school. I rode a 125 with L plates for a few months before doing the DAS course with the school. I now have my full motorbike licence and couldn't be happier with the my instructor (Ian) and the school as a whole.

Fantastic experience: Im so impressed with Saferide. I was greeted by friendly, professional staff. The set up is great. A private area with road markings to train on ..The equippment and facilities are spot on. How lovely to complete my C.B.T riding along the seafront roads on a sunny day. We had a few breaks to stay hydrated and snack . Tony is a very good trainer who gets you relaxed with his silly jokes. He gets the message across when you need the serious stuff too .

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT with SafeRide in August 2023 which was a great experience with Des teaching us. As of today I have just passed my DAS thanks to Ian's incredibly patient and knowledgable instruction. I had a lot of fun over the quite tiring five days and everyone at SafeRide was so kind and supportive. Thanks all will be back for more instruction in the future!

Fantastic experience: Finally convinced the time was right to now take my CBT after many years of putting it off - from the first phone call to organize my beginner session and car booking, to the beginner course with Tony & then on to the CBT with Toby & road ride with Ian, everyone was extremely helpful and made you feel at ease - and the day is also full of jokes and laughter which goes along way to settle any nerves you may have! Fantastic experience: Did a 2-hour 'new rider' session here yesterday and just wanted to record how good it was, and how happy I am I decided to do this first, rather than going in 'cold' to a CBT. I met Des and Toby, both were exceptionally nice, friendly, reassuring. Toby was my teacher and he was excellent - very experienced, kind, clear, calm, and encouraging. I went from zero to feeling a degree of confidence in starting, stopping and riding a geared motorbike through figure 8s, all within the 2-hr session. I would be very happy to complete further training through Saferide and have no hesitation recommending them to others based on my own experience.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Saferide to anyone! Having done my 2 past cbts with them and both times the instructors have been patient friendly and professional. They make you feel relaxed and at ease and encourage you all the time.... I recently went with another school passed my mod 1 first time but failed my mod 2, I got in touch with Sue and she was absolutely amazing, she spoke me through the process and took the time to even squeeze me in for my mod 2. She is a credit to the team. Tony was absolutely brilliant, he is an amazing instructor and he took his time and took me out around all the different tests routes, he constantly asked if I was happy and answered any questions I had. He makes you feel at ease, I didn't have any nerves whilst out with him, he is a friendlt guy and with huge thanks to Tony and all the help and support he gave me I passed my mod 2 with a clean sheet, yesterday 06-06-2024. I highly recommended anyone wanting to do cbt or das to use saferide.

Fantastic experience: Took my CBT last weekend with Ian and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. I had not ridden before and found him to be very helpful and patient. I thought that the whole set up was brilliant and intend to work towards my DAS with them. Totally recommend.

Negative experience: Instructor Dez gave a beginner motorcyclist objectively wrong information which held up his process and ended up costing extra. Told him to ‘look at the cone’ when doing figure 8s. Anyone who rides a bike will know that staring at a fixed point on the ground will cause you to lose balance and direction! He also repeatedly shouted at this student across the training grounds, not giving him the chance to figure it out, respond or collect his thoughts. Then told the student that he was holding up the class resulting in him going home. Again, the student was never given the chance to take 5 to de stress and try again. It seemed like Dez was looking for the opportunity for a nice short day and sending home this student was the perfect way of doing that. I’ve never known a CBT take so long or such shockingly wrong advice be given.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed my motorcycle training at Saferide in Southwick, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. The instructors at Saferide are top-notch. They provided clear, concise instructions and were very patient, ensuring that I understood each step of the process. Their approach to teaching is both thorough and engaging, making the learning process enjoyable and stress-free. The training bikes and equipment are well-maintained, which added to my confidence during the lessons. The course structure is well-organized, covering all essential aspects of motorcycle riding, from basic controls to advanced riding techniques.

Fantastic experience: Tony was a fantastic teacher and got me through both the Mod1 & Mod2 first time. I did the 5 day DAS course. At Safe ride they go above and beyond with the teaching provided, including a 2 hour time slot at the DVSA MOD1 circuit which without a doubt contributed to a first time pass. I did my CBT back in May, and I'm pleased and proud to say, Ian got me through.to passed both MOD 1 and 2 on the 29th October 24. Fantastic experience: Where do I start. I did my CBT a month ago, having done some odd automatic riding in the past, I decided I just wanted to get the full licence over with so I can ride what I want. Did the CBT in manual for the first time ever, as it is highly advised if you want to move in to bigger bikes. The day went incredibly fast, the riding was really fun and I was out with Ian for in road ride. It was a bit rainy but just being on the Akuma bikes they had was a blast. Left that with some really handy tips and advice from Ian and a CBT certificate! Just finished my Direct access to A licence, and I was trained by Ian again! Going straight from no manual to CBT to DAS in a matter of two months is a VERY tall order, I would advice if you can, to book in a individual training session before jumping straight in, as there is a steep learning curve with the bigger bikes, they need more precision of the throttle, and more respect when riding. I managed to get good grips with it all ONLY through Ian's amazing coaching and help, constantly running drills and replicating test situations led to a MOD1 with two minors, and a MOD 2 with only one minor (although I must admit I got lost on the test and it took 1 hour instead of 30 min due to my horrible sense of direction...) after all that intense training and effort, I am happy to say I can ride what it want now! I feel very confident in my safety and riding abilities as a now, beginner rider! THANK YOU IAN! AND THANKS SAFERIDE! This has been a true journey and great memories, I highly recommend this company for high quality training and guidance all the way to your A licence and further!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thoroughly recommend Saferide. I first did my CBT there : the instructor (Malcolm) was energetic and interesting, but also patient and concise. I really enjoyed the day and learnt a lot. I've recently taken a 5 day A2 course with Tony. I had great fun and the training was top-notch. Tony's humour and skill make him an exellent instructor. He built up my confidence and made sure we worked on all the things I was nervous about. I got my MOD 1 first try with no faults, thanks to Tony. Unfortunately the new-found confidence from that led me to make mistakes in my MOD 2, which I had to retake. One month after my MOD 1, I got a resit of my MOD 2. I did an extra day of training beforehand with Ian, who helped me regain confidence in myself and work over the mistakes I made. Ian is an excellent instructor and I am very happy I was able to have a lesson with him, he is dynamic, friendly, and knows how to help you learn. The day was an absolute pleasure. I passed my MOD 2 thanks to his insightful words, and I'm now looking forward to riding an open road on my own. I've had many questions about the courses and I've always been able to get a quick and accurate response by contacting them : Sue, who manages the admin, is always kind and helpful ! All the people I've met at Saferide go above and beyond to ensure you get your licence, and I could not thank Tony, Ian, Malcom and Sue enough for helping me in this. You could not be in better hands. I recommend Saferide, they are awesome ! In conclusion, Tony and his team are God's gift to the motorcycle community.

Fantastic experience: I've been for a couple CBT's, my most recent one with Saferide was by far the best. The day seemed to pass so much quicker than usual, I had Toby as the instructor for the day who explained everything clearly and even gave me a few cleaning tips for my bike and recommendations for mechanics as well as general things I hadn't learned in previous CBT's. My ride out was with Des who showed us some great routes we could take once we were out and about by ourselves and he provided great constructive feedback on bad habits I'd picked up between my CBT's. Both guys were funny, easy going and I really couldn't recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: Definitely recommend whether you’re doing your CBT or Test, this place made me confident on a motorbike for the first time. I initially went for an automatic moped but changed my mind to a manual at the beginning as I felt confident in their teaching. Toby and Dez great instructors, Toby was very friendly, teaches very well. He reassured me whenever I made a mistake and has made me feel comfortable. Will definitely come back to acquire my full motorbike license. Thanks Saferide! (I still have my indicator on)

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! This is a very good set-up, extremely good facilities, good quality and well-maintained bikes, and most importantly highly skilled and experienced instructors who actually want you to do well, enjoy the experience, and pass your tests. I passed my A licence first attempt and really enjoyed the whole thing.

Fantastic experience: I have wanted to get my licence since I was a teenager, but now at the ripe old age of 50, I decided it was finally time. The team at Safe Ride were fantastic with me. I wanted to do the geared option, so I booked onto the 2 hour intro session to start with, which was really helpful ahead of the day of CBT training, thanks to Des for the Intro. CBT day with Toby started ok on the geared bike but my lack of self-confidence got the better of me, and I unfortunately dropped the bike, I was beside myself and feeling like an idiot, but Toby did not let me give up on myself, he just would not let me quit, he got me back onto an Automatic to complete the day so that I had actually achieved something great at the end of the CBT day. With that renewed confidence I went back the following week to do my geared upgrade, with Des's patience I got through it, the weather that day was awful, howling wind and needle rain, so if they can get me through on a day like that, then believe me, they really are a fantastic team at SafeRide. As and when I move up to the next step I will be back with SafeRide for sure. Thank you to Toby and Des for your amazing patience, and Tony for the "jokes" ;-)

Fantastic experience: Was quite nervous about doing my cbt after putting it off for various reasons for the better part of a decade, but the introduction courses were really helpful to prepare me for the CBT. Toby was a great and patient instructor on the day of my CBT and Dez was supportive and clear when we went out on the road in the afternoon. Fantastic experience: Fantastic training centre. Me and my friend booked a beginners course and had an instructor called nick. He’s an excellent, patient and laid back person who taught the basics very well. We will be back for our CBT!

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT with the team at Saferide recently and it was a great experience. Really good set up. They have their own area to teach in with permanent road markings, rather than the usual cones, and useful markers to help you judge the appropriate distance to check your mirrors, indicate etc. They even have a set of traffic lights! Nick was a brilliant instructor - explaining things clearly, patient with beginners and made the whole morning fun with no macho nonsense. Tony made us all very welcome, even wheeling out one of his classic bikes to have a look at in the lunchbreak, and a great ride out with Des in the afternoon who had a really close look at my riding and passed on some great tips whilst keeping the whole thing relaxed. Fantastic experience: This review is a bit overdue since I had my CBT a few months ago but whatever. I learnt on a manual transmission and had the 2 hour course before my CBT, I would recommend this if you aren’t feeling confident about the bike and want to get to know it a bit before your CBT. They will run you through everything you need to know on both days but having that little bit of seat time beforehand makes a big difference and will help you get ahead of the curve. If you are a deliveroo rider on a moped then don’t worry . All the staff there are very friendly and will guide you throughout the whole process, they will be communicating with you via earphone and accompanying you on the road. I’m not going to keep yapping for much longer as the drills you do aren’t too complex and are nothing to worry about. Overall, I fully recommend safe ride and want to thank them for opening up the world of motorcycles to me, even though I’ve got to start on a 125 (it’s still great fun). If you’re debating whether or not to do your cbt and get a bike, do it. Worth every penny.

Negative experience: Had a lovely first riders experience, loads of compliments and even got told that I ride like an instructor. Complete opposite experience to the CBT, I was completely put off by the lack of information I got during the training. The on road experience was during out of school hours in a very busy school area so it was very overwhelming as a first on road experience with children EVERWHERE, and having been someone who has not done their theory at this point, because it is not necessary to obtain a cbt, i did not know what a give way road was and was screamed at as I was approaching one and almost crashed. Of course, I did not pass...But that was the least of my concerns, I completely lost my confidence and was afraid to go anywhere near a bike for a year. In the end I tried again with MTS and regained my confidence, those guys are great and the way they taught me and did things really helped me see that the experience with saferide was not my fault...

Fantastic experience: Amazing day today, passed my cbt with Ian who was literally amazing I was nervous to start with but he really helped calm me down filled me with confidence and put me at ease. Was literally a incredible day and one ill remember learnt loads and am really happy and grateful this with saferide and had Ian on side to get me through the day chuffed to bits!!! Fantastic experience: I have used SafeRide for a Pre-CBT, CBT and full category A license. Each time, I have had a different instructor and they have all been great. I recently completed my full category A with no minors on my MOD1 and only 2 minors on my MOD2 - this is not a brag, but an indication of the quality of training I received. My instructor John, was patient, clear and concise with his instructions and did a great job of keeping us calm and talking through our mistakes without it feeling like a condescending lecture. I'm not sure if this is typical of all schools, but with SafeRide we were able to go to the testing center in Burgess Hill and do mock MOD1 exams on the actual course. I can't overstate how valuable this was. Equally, John had a good knowledge of the MOD2 test routes in Burgess Hill, so by the time it came to the test nothing was a surprise.

Fantastic experience: As a professional Deliveroo driver just did my fourth CBT test- all 4 with them . Always friendly instructors with good sense of humour) and useful training. I hope to get my full motorcycle driving license next summer with this school.

Fantastic experience: A quick update - I just completed my DAS today and have to give massive thanks to Ian for really getting me there. Both in terms of mindset and technical training. After 5 days with Ian and another student, I really felt the camaraderie building during the week. I am so happy with my experience with Ian and with Saferide in general (see below for my CBT review). Tony runs a great outfit and has put together an amazing team. Fantastic experience: On the 16th of November, I attended my cbt session at this location. It was my first time ever riding a motorcycle, and I must admit, I did not succeed in passing. However, I did not allow this setback to discourage me. Determined to pass, I enrolled in a new rider course to improve my skills in areas where I lacked confidence. Today, on the 7th of December, I successfully passed my CBT under the guidance of a highly competent and supportive instructor. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for those seeking direct access or CBT training. The people here are truly exceptional in their dedication and assistance.

Fantastic experience: Steve is the most diligent, thorough instructor. There was no question of passing my DAS course after just 4 days of training with him. The training bike was fantastic (almost new Yamaha MT07) and the equipment and clothing were all quality, in terrible weather too. By day 4, I was totally familiar with all the possible test routes, questions and procedures, so the test day was an absolute breeze.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Tony for all your extra input I needed to pass my DAS today. I would highly recommend Safe ride for all the motorcycle courses. I started with a new rider course, then the CBT and with a lot of help from Tony and a lovely lowered bike, I managed to pass my mod1 and 2 on the same day. Tony is a very understanding trainer with amazing patience and the ability to adjust his teaching techniques to suit the learner and not just shout orders. Fantastic experience: My instructor was lovely! I told him I was worried about cornering due to PTSD and he took his time helping me build my confidence. I felt comfortable on the road and the atmosphere was great. Our instructor gave us breaks to cool off for a few minutes before moving on. Amazing instructor. Only place I will go to for any bike training in the future! I did my CBT on an automatic but they had so many geared options including bikes suited to shorter riders!

Fantastic experience: After 30 years out of biking I booked a Back2Biking session with Saferide. I had a great afternoon with Tony. We started off in the car park on a 125 with some basic handling and quickly progressed onto a 700. Then onto the local streets and finally a long cross country. I really enjoyed the afternoon. Tony gave me one on one instruction and by the end of the session I was ready to get back out on the roads with confidence and knowledge refreshed.

Massive thanks to Steve U and Tony as well as everyone else at SafeRide who professionally took me through the process of passing the CBT all the way through to the A license. Everything was well organised and all of the training was extremely meticulous. Steve even went the extra mile by providing additional training the morning of the test! Fantastic experience: What can I say, I now have an extended bike family. From doing a new riders course, to CBT, to big bike trial to DAS to getting a full unrestricted A licence, the team are the best:) Tony, Sue, Ian, Des, Steve, Steve and Graham are just awesome.They all have the patience of a saint and I learnt something from all of their teaching methods. They really put you at ease and give you so much confidence to give it your all. Even after getting your full licence there is more on offer. I did Steve's Bike maintenance course and oh boy did I learn a lot. He certainly knows his way around an engine. Fantastic experience: One of the best instructors I have had, Ian was absolutely amazing he genuinely cares and wants you to do your best and is very patient. It’s not just a pass from the team at safe riders, but they really want you to learn and understand the fundamentals of riding. Honestly the best experience I have had would highly recommend!!!! Tony was amazing on my first day! Helped me a lot to understand in such a small amount of time I had, not safe riders fault but mine. Sue was amazing and understanding and did everything she could do to try and fit me in around my work schedule. A massive thank you to all at safe riders!!!

Fantastic experience: The motorcycle maintenance course was supposed to finish at 15:00, it did not finish until 16:15 and I had a 97 miles ride back home. Yes it was 194 miles return trip. Was it worth it? Every penny and little more. There were four us. Steve our instructor for the day is a superb teacher with over 50 years experience in vehicle maintenance. He knows all the parts of the engine like the back of his hand. It was a superb day and we picked up a lot of tips and tricks. The guy did not look at his clock while teaching us he just kept going such is his passion for knowledge sharing. He kept saying let me tell you that, let me tell you this. I am sure if ever I was to break down I will be at least be able to get to the nearest garage. The rest of the staff are also friendly and very caring. I wish all of them the very best for future. As i said to Steve may be one day i will return for a refresher course.

Fantastic experience: I did my introduction to riding and CBT with Saferide earlier this year and have just completed my week long intensive full licence course. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of training I have received for all three courses. I was fortunate enough to do the week long intensive course with Tony, who is the owner of Saferide, and I would have to say that he is a brilliant instructor. He is very patient and positive, and will take you to a standard of riding higher than is actually required to obtain a licence. This course really puts the 'intense' in intensive, and for a novice like me, I was really feeling the pressure. This is where Tony comes into his own though, because his almost relentless stream of awful jokes and interesting stories about his fascinating backstory really helped to calm me down. He is a very kind and sensitive man and manages to coax a smile out of everyone he meets. It was an absolute pleasure spending this last week in his company, and in the space of 5 short days I went from nervy self doubt to confident rider, I can barely believe it! I actually feel like a proper biker now, and am looking forward to a new chapter in my life. And it's all thanks to Tony and the Saferide team. Seriously, check them out, you won't find better.
