Fantastic experience: Young female rider here. I went to A1 after having a terrible experince with another riding school so I was a little nervous to start again but these guys were absolutely top notch. I had James for the majority of the time and he's a brilliant instructor with a good sense of humour. Richy, Ricky and Allan are all sensational instructors with amazing training techniques and are so patient with every student regardless of ability. They all build up your confidence even when having a bad lesson. All gentlemen at heart with a passion to teach every single person who walks through their doors. They were all so polite and respectful throughout all lessons, genuinely will miss not seeing these guys all the time after passing my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time in a matter of weeks (even after dropping their bikes multiple times). Their bikes are all absolutrly class and always have them up to scratch, very well maintained and amazing quality. Thanks again A1, you guys are the best in the business!!!!

Fantastic experience: A massive big fat ten stars (even though the maximum is five ) to all the team you were all fantastic in sorting all dates, learning and mod 1 and 2 tests out. Done my CBT all way through to Mod2 I passed that today with 1 minor. All within about 8 weeks ish. The school has a very high pass rate and Google reviews was where I looked first. I appreciate all the lads for taking me out on the roads and the ladies for the admin side. Few beers for me tonight and Christmas shopping for new wheels in January sales

I had no previous bike experience but the instructors helped me complete my CBT right through to completing my MOD 1 and MOD 2 test within 2 months. Fantastic experience: Just passed my Mod 2 test today and achieved my full motorcycle license with A1 and I couldn't happier with the training and service I have received. Sharon and Emma were fantastic booking in all my lessons and tests around my work shift pattern, making any changes and keeping everything organised. From Dan on my CBT to Alan, James and Ricky for Mod 1 and 2, they are all fantastic, knowledgeable instructors who teach you everything you need to know, put you at ease, and make the whole experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend A1 to anybody looking to get their motorcycle license.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed learning to ride here, I did the direct access course for an unrestricted licence. The coaches make you feel really comfortable and are great craic and the bikes are modern and easy to get the hang of. They have a set curriculum of lessons for the Mod1 and Mod2 tests, done in a group and in a pair respectively. Meaning if you fail a test you do a random lesson again based on availability, it's not personalised (maybe you can get 1-1 personalised lessons, I'm not sure). However, you do wear earpieces so as the trainers get to know you, you do get personalised advice, and they are very switched on, I had months in between tests and they still remembered me and what I failed on. Overall, I failed the Mod 2 test twice and had a lesson in between each failure bringing the total cost to £1300-1500 not including the CBT (can't remember exactly). Thanks guys!!

Fantastic experience: Recently completed my CBT and Direct Access with the A1 Motorcycle team. Cracking bunch of lads, very knowledgeable and their training techniques are great. Had a laugh while learning from scratch how to ride a bike properly with no previous riding experience. Within 2 weeks I had passed both my mod1 and mod2 first time. Highly recommend, thanks again lads!!

Fantastic experience: A big THANK YOU to everyone at A1. The instruction and test preparation was fantastic, it let me pass my Mod 1 and Mod 2 on the first try. All the instructors make every minute of the lessons count and clearly explain how you can improve your riding. A special shout-out to Alan! He helped me break my bad habits from riding my 125, and I couldn't have passed without him!

Positive experience: FOR SHORT WOMEN RIDERS - They may be the best riding instructors out there but in terms of customer service, it was a very poor experience for me. I booked my CBT and provided info about my height via email a month in advance. No one replied to that email. On the day of the course, the instructor expressed his concern about my height and I told him I had sent my info via email and that since there was no reply, I assumed everything was okay. I got on the bike fine but after the third exercise, I lost my balance and fell. No one checked if I got hurt, the instructor took me to the office and said I had to pay for the broken clutch. And I argued against this, since I had told them my height and it was up to them not to let me on the bike. I then asked if at least they were going to refund me for the course (since I couldn't complete it) and the receptionist jumped in and said "No". After I pulled up my email they agreed to refund me but that they would keep the amount for the clutch (£30 approx.). 5 minutes later, a student comes in (a tall man) and one of the instructors (he might have been the boss?) jokingly told him (pointing at me) "she's your instructor for the day, she's gonna look after you" and he laughed with everyone. To conclude, not very good customer service and the joking at the end (considering what had just happened) was very inappropriate.

Fantastic experience: Did the CBT as a Xmas present from my wife to see if I liked it. I loved it and got me hooked and I continued to use A1 throughout the whole process of my lesson as they are clearly very knowledgeable and professional. Due to working away the team managed to work around my schedule and were just all together a friendly bunch. Can have a little joke and laugh and take the pressure off and just make the process fun I passed my mod 1 and mod 2 first time and that’s all down to all the instructor so thank you all.

Fantastic experience: One of, if not the best school out there. Friendly instructors making every step of the way enjoyable and stress free. They tailored themselves to my weaknesses and helped me tackle them with ease. I was absolutely bricking it about MOD 2 but passed with no minors. If it wasn’t for the patience and effort that the instructors put into each person, I would have ultimately failed. Can’t put into words how great these guys are. 10/10

Fantastic experience: Just passed my Mod 2 test today after choosing A1 as my choice of training. So pleased of the choice I made as they really are 1st class. I contacted A1 with absolutely no experience of riding and took my cbt course on July 8th, all lessons were booked in advance and now tday I passed my Mod 2 at the 1st go. Fantastic experience: My experience with A1 riding school was spot on ! I tried other riding schools previously and was left feeling very anxious and with very little confidence. A1 had a solid, clear structure to all their lessons and provided me with the confidence and skills I needed to ride a bike. Fantastic experience: Having major childcare issues my availability was very slim. Emma who arranged all my lessons and tests was amazing. A lot of people would have been dismissive and unhelpful but she was patient understanding and very flexible. From day 1 i was met by instructors who were professional friendly and obviously loved their job. Being a brand new student on a bike for the very first time I was very anxious but I was quickly put at ease and throughly enjoyed my lessons due to how great the instructors were. There is a perfect mix of humour and seriousness from the instructors. I done plenty of research for the best reviewed and respected training school and was recommended A1 by friends. I'm so glad I chose them, I don't think I would have passed first time with anyone else. I would 100 percent recommend this school to any riders at any experience level. Thanks A1.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant instructors who really know their stuff. Did my CBT then direct access and passed all first time with the recommended 16 hours DAS training. There's nothing more they could have done to prepare me. Being right next to the test centre and able to go into the DVSA yard where you do your Mod1 before the test was a massive help. I had Alan for most lessons who was brilliant but all the instructors are sound and sing from the same hym sheet for the lessons. Really well organised, shout out to Emma also who keeps everything on track and makes sure everything in planned well.

Fantastic experience: Amazing from start to finish,started my A2 lessons on the 15th and with James,Alan and all the other amazing staff and instructors here they got me through my lessons and tests in a week! Can't recommend highly enough,if you're wanting to get ANY bike licence from CBT to full A don't go anywhere else but here!

Fantastic experience: Great motorcycle training school. Can’t recommend A1 enough. I had experience learning with Richie, Alan and James from CBT to Full A licence. I was on a tight timescale due to work commitments however Sharon managed to find space for me on lessons over just a few weeks. CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests were all completed and passed first time in less than a month. Couldn’t be happier and can’t thank the A1 team enough!

If you are worrying about gear changes on a 125cc (as I was leading up to the day), don’t be. Everything is explained clearly, and the practice you get was fantastic on site before going out onto the road! Overall, would HIGHLY recommend here. Richie and allan are solid blokes who know an incredible amount of knowledge about bikes, i’ve learnt so much from my lesson and i’ve also learnt what i’m capable of. Fantastic experience: Just completed my Mod2 today, having started out with A1 Motorcycle School last June with the CBT. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the patience and hard work of all involved, from the reception staff to the instructors. Absolute peak of professionalism from all- the administrative side of logistics of booking lessons, through to explanations of the lesson plan, to the supervision and support given on the road by the instructors. I am someone who finds it difficult to assimilate practical skills immediately, and it has taken a while for me to get to passing the Mod2, with three prior attempts. But the school were very supportive and accommodating, mediating extra practice for me tailoring it to my weaknesses. I will genuinely miss coming to the school and learning from the team. My special thanks to Alan and James who were my instructors in more recent time, but also convey my sincerest thanks and appreciation to Ricky, Richy, Sharon and Emma. I recommend A1 to everyone, without reservation. Everything from the quality of the bikes to the training is nothing short of superior, when compared with what I have seen with other schools. I would personally look no further than A1 if you wish to take up motorcycling. Thanks again everyone and I hope to see you all soon.

Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT today, and whilst I went in a nervous wreck, I loved every minute of it. I had both Richie and Alan as instructors, and their humour and down to earth approach to teaching was the perfect way to break through the nerves. They understood mistakes were going to be made, there was no pressure, and they gave time and attention to anything that needed a bit of work. The bikes used look brand new and were in great condition, and the ladies in the office were great at explaining the costs and routes to full license. I'd highly recommend A1 if you're looking at a bike license. We had such a mix of abilities in our group, but every one of us left with our certificate. Fantastic experience: I passed both tests the first time. This is the best school. Unfortunately, I tried other schools because of my address, but the people who teach must be very patient so that we don't get stressed. Before the exam, I trained for two hours. At the beginning of my work, I made a mistake due to the stress of the exam and was very embarrassed. But my coach calmly told me to forget and concentrate, you are a good driver and this sense of security made it good for me to continue my journey and finally he said you did your job well. They have really good trainers, a family business where everyone works compassionately and most importantly they take your stress away. Because English is my second language, I endured a lot of pressure, but luckily my instructor taught me well and said that the important thing is that you drive safely for yourself and others. Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to get your bike licence or CBT. Alan, James and Chris were my instructors and they all made sure I was well beyond test standard. Nerves got the better of me and I thought I'd had a total mare on test day but passed with 0 minors. Emma and Sharon organised everything. My first mod 2 was cancelled by DVSA due to weather and couldn't get rebooked until 6 weeks, but they done everything possible to get me in earlier and managed to find me a cancellation so I was rebooked in a week later. All the bikes are kept well and in good condition. If you are interested in learning to ride A1 is absolutely the place to go.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely 10/10 honestly couldn’t of went to any place that could of done any better than these absolutely class all the lads are mint whilst learning you also have a bit of a laugh which makes it enjoyable at the same time as learning. All information,skills and tips they pass on is key to passing they bend over backward to get you passed on your mod 1&2 CBT also but mainly focusing on mod 1&2 has been immense passed without any issues and they take the bad habbit straight out of you that you’ve naturally picked up honestly best place to go highly recommend a1 motorcycle training!

Excellent training, patient instructors, good equipment and bikes, located right next door to the DVSA Driving Test Centre which is a real plus, you couldn't be any closer to the test routes. Fantastic experience: Great experience and good banter with the instructors. I wasn't looking forward to spending all day doing the course, but it was dinner time before I knew it, and the afternoon on the road was an experience, after 20 years,(motorbike riding is a perishable skill) I wasn't expecting, but felt great being on 2 wheels again. 125cc for a bit, then back there again for my full license. I highly recommend this instructor school for new and old riders.

Fantastic experience: Review posted on behalf of my girlfriend, who now joins me on her own 2 wheels Patient, utterly professional and friendly A1 Motorcycle Training are the reason why I now ride a Yamaha Tracer 700. I began my two wheel adventure with the 125 CBT course, which was conducted with the student rider very much at the heart of the learning experience. I then carried on to do the direct access, 2 Part, Big Bike course which was seamless friendly and professional. I rode my own tracer 700 for the first time on Christmas Eve then again on New Year’s Day, this time up to Kielder and I have A1 to thank for this. Sharon runs the office with precision and efficiency that would leave many blue-chip office manager’s red faced in shame and jealousy; Sharon misses nothing.. The rider training team is led by Richy whose knowledge of what is required of the student is peerless, and his interpersonal manner is tailored to each student’s needs. His team and he are simply fantastic. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending A1 training, anyone wishing to move onto two wheels and I thank them for what they’ve done to educate me on 2 wheels, thank you..

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place, took me from never sitting on a bike right through my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 DAS with a pass with 2 minors. The lads are all great and I actually had great fun learning with them. Alan, James and Ricky are great instructors all with patience, understanding and a willingness to teach along with a wealth of experience. I admit I'm my worst critic and really blame myself when doing things wrong and get frustrated in doing so, these guys kept me focused, on track and laughing along the way. The bikes used are all new and up to date and kept in a very well maintained condition. Would recommend these guys to anyone wish to learn to ride.
