Welcome to Universal Motorcycle Training – We are a motorcycle training school who links riders to motorcycle instructors in London. All our training sites, as well as all our trainers, are authorised and regulated by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), fully-accredited by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), and many of our instructors are associated with RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), and the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF). Having a range of different courses, we cater from the very beginner to the advanced rider. From CBT Training and A1 licence to DAS Full Motorcycle Licence and Advanced Motorcycle Training, most certainly we will have a course for you.

Fantastic experience: Did their bronze DAS course having had a 125 for a year. Trained by Lyndon and Asad. Both were very calm and good at explaining what was needed for mod1 and mod2, and clearly know how to get people to test standard quickly and without undue stress or delay. The bikes they have there all seem new and are nice to ride, and they had a selection for different height riders. All in a good course and some great instructors.

Fantastic experience: I had Asad as my instructor. He was a great instructor for me. He observed my driving carefully and was giving me timely feedbacks. He was also very thorough with giving instructions, theory and examples. Overall, I had a great experience with Universal and Asad. Got my Mod2 passed quite happily.

Negative experience: I was there 25 minutes early I forgot boots I ask instructor I will go and get back please if I am little bit later please complicate me I come back was late 10 minutes he didn’t allow me in and they way he talk to me was humiliation instructor was soo rude never had such a bad experience in name of professionalism

Fantastic experience: Having just passed my A2, I must admit it took me 3 attempts. This was by no means a result of poor instruction. Silly mistakes, not paying attention. The instructors I had (Asad, Sean, Lyndon) were the most competent, considerate and compassionate teachers I have ever had teaching me. They created an atmosphere of camaraderie from the beginning to ease my stress, but never let that get in the way of correcting my mistakes. I’ll be returning to do advanced training, as I don’t even want to consider going to another centre. These guys are the best; so even if you’re not based in Croydon, come here. Negative experience: Inhumane policies and appalling customer service. Their policies are completely inhumane. I recently fell ill with a fever and even have a doctor’s note. Despite this, when I called to explain my situation, the woman on the phone practically laughed at me, telling me that cancellations should be planned my illness 11 days in advance. They expect you to predict when you'll get sick. People get sick unexpectedly — that’s life. Refusing to accommodate legitimate, documented illness is outrageous and shows zero empathy for their customers. This place is a complete waste of money. Their rigid, inflexible, old school rules combined with the utter lack of human decency make it clear that they care more about their profits than their customers.

Fantastic experience: Started from very little experience on a motorbike. Done my CBT and DAS with the Croydon and Wimbledon sites. Passed first time thanks the excellent instructors, so helpful and patient. Fantastic experience: Honestly. What a great place. You get there and you immediately feel comfortable. Instructors joke around and you feel fully included. If you are nice enough Asad might pay you breakfast. Extremely fun to learn on the motorcycle. Thanks to Asad and Dan I passed my A2 Exams. Fantastic experience: Best motorcycle school in London, I've been to the Croydon and Wimbledon branch. I failed mod 2 twice, before my third attempt, Asad and Sean both prepped me very well and had a lot of tips that have made me an excellent driver. I can now ride with confidence. I struggled with hesitation, I struggled with timing and when to pull out of junctions, I had problems with hill starts, with angled starts, gearing. You name it, I was shit at it. But these guys are the top G's of the motorcycle schools, educated me very well without becoming frustrated or emotional (like the owner of bikewize in Worcester, Jim) Absolutely well deserved 5 stars.

Negative experience: I need to give zero '0’ star but there is no option. Actually my training starts at 11.30 AM but am went there before 30 minutes.. I asked them, am were safety things all are okay for you.. he said okay. But after 11.27am he said no bro this shoe not allowed.. okay please give me 5 minutes, my house is near 0.3 miles I asked to my brother he bring it to here.. but he said, No it’s all most times 11.30 we can’t do any thing.. i payed 195£ for this day.. it’s my very worst experience.. trainer name asad

Upon reviewing the details, it appears that there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the necessity of wearing appropriate footwear. We send multiple confirmations via email and text to each client, specifying that sturdy, protective footwear is required for participation. This aligns with DVSA’s national safety standards, which outline specific personal protective equipment (PPE) as essential for safe participation in motorcycle training. Our instructors are responsible for enforcing these standards to comply with DVSA guidance and safeguard all participants. On the day of your training, our instructor informed you that your footwear did not meet these necessary standards. While you offered to retrieve alternative shoes, our schedule and DVSA regulations require each session to start promptly to cover all syllabus elements comprehensively and ensure that every client meets the competency requirements set by the DVSA. Thus, unfortunately, waiting for you to return with different footwear would not have allowed sufficient time to complete the training fully. We recognise the inconvenience caused and regret any frustration you felt. Nevertheless, as stated in our terms and conditions provided upon booking, failure to adhere to the PPE requirements may result in forfeiture of the session fees due to the unfeasibility of rescheduling or postponing once the session has started. Fantastic experience: Just passed my Mod1 with Asad. Booked a 4 day course to do my DAS. Already riding a 125cc. Felt confident prior to the test and was relaxed. A sad has a really chilled out teaching style, not too critical and uses great analogies when explains stuff. After just 1 days training with him, I felt like a considerably better rider. Would recommend to anyone wanting to ride a motorbike. The Croydon branch also has a great selection of decent bikes and good facilities. Very pleased I.went with UMT!
Fantastic experience: Genuinely one of the best experiences I have had with a company / business full stop - the customer service team (through which you book your course) is exceptional, the instructors are second-to-none, and the organisation is also perfect. I am beyond please with my experience and cannot recommend Universal enough. I got trained by Sean and Assad in Croydon, both of whom are the best at what they do. They are calm and confidence inspiring, which is essential when learning to ride a motorcycle, and cannot be said for other motorcycle schools in London (a statement which comes from experience). On top of that, they are focused on getting you through the test but not just that - they are interested in ensuring that you can ride safely, a principle that underlines their teaching approach.
Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of training with Universal Motorcycle Training throughout the process of obtaining my full, unrestricted motorbike license. I was fortunate to be trained by more than four different instructors, each with their own unique personality and approach, but all equally skilled and professional. I completed my CBT with Antonio, who was fantastic in teaching me the core basics and essential skills. I believe I was his last trainee, as he left shortly afterward, but his lessons have stuck with me. Antonio also guided me through my TfL training and provided excellent 1-2-1 session. For my Mod 1, Daniel was my instructor. Not only is he an amazing teacher, but he's also a talented actor-who knew! His guidance helped me pass with confidence. When it came to my Mod 2, Asad was the man. A cracking guy, he introduced me to new skills and tricks that were crucial for the test and for riding in general. Overall, the team at Universal Motorcycle Training is outstanding. I couldn't have chosen a better place to learn, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their motorbike license.
Fantastic experience: I have gone through my motorbike learning process with Universal. From CBT to full licence, and my instructor has mostly been Asad. What I have to say about him is that he is an excellent instructor, he is truly passionate about teaching and commited with his students, he goes far and beyond to make sure you are ride up to the standards of DVLA In my particular case, he is made me gain the confidence that I lacked to take the Module 2 by delving into my weaknesses as a rider, and turning them into strengths. Fantastic experience: Asad and Sean did absolutely great. At age 43 I passed my Mod2 from the first time. During my training and the warm up sessions before the exam they kept adding me tips in a calm and interactive way and I found them really helpful. The only challenging situation on my exam was the fact that my examiner was in a car. That car was blocking my view in few situations but I was extra careful and was okay. Thanks once again guys! You are the best!

Fantastic experience: A great way to gain my CBT. The centre is well run with good facilities and the trainers are easy going, friendly and understanding. They take time to take you through the required skills and don't put you under pressure or cause you to feel pressured. They're non confrontational and allow you to practice steps you might find less comfortable with, catering to all skill levels. Importantly they take the course seriously so you receive a high level of training and can feel confident when out on the road; feeling confident leaves you feeling safe and that's hugely important when out on a bike. Equipment is well looked after too. Not everyone who was in the course I attended was Abbie to take a bike out for the practical part of the CBT as unfortunately they were not evidencing the standard necessary to do so safely and UMT handled this well, with consideration and kindness. I'm going back for my direct access course as soon as I've done my theory and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Went right through from CBT, passed MOD1 and today passed MOD2 all first time thanks to excellent instruction from Dan and Sean. Both instructors were highly supportive, giving great feedback and encouragement the whole way, and constant helpful direction on how to improve when I made a mistake. I can highly recommend them for anyone looking to do Direct Access. (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of completing my CBT with Noya, and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and approachable throughout the entire training. Noya explained everything clearly, breaking down each step so that even as a beginner, I felt comfortable and confident on the bike. Her calm demeanor and focus on safety helped me feel at ease, and she always gave constructive feedback to help me improve. What really stood out was how much she cared about making sure everyone in the group understood the skills before moving on. Fantastic experience: I am satisfied with the instructor I had for the ITM training - Noya. He explains everything great and is very calm. He observes and adds comments on what needs to be adjusted in the way that I understand on what is happening with the bike at certain moments. I was not always in the control of certain techniques but thanks to him I understand much more on what controls I need to use at certain moments as he explains everything step by step when it is needed

Fantastic experience: I attended my CBT and TfL Safety course for a whole day at the Croydon Centre. It was a fantastic experience, really enjoyed it and our Instructors, Pierre and Sean were absolutely fantastic. I even got a free 30 min ride with a Senior Instructor to do a TfL mock test. AMAZING

Fantastic experience: Did my CBT here, had a great time and learnt loads. Felt very confident on the bike at the end. Noya was an excellent instructor; clear, knowledgable and helped calm nerves with humour. Will say I had to hang around for two hours whilst waiting for my turn to go out with the instructor. I understand why this was the case, but was frustrating that it wasn’t communicated during booking.
