Negative experience: Paul told us the course would start at 8 in the morning. At 8, there were four of us there. Then the teacher came and told us that the motorcycles were stolen. After waiting for an hour, the junk motorcycles arrived, and two of them were broken. We loaded the broken ones into the car and were very tired. The four of us took the training with only two motorcycles, and those motorcycles couldn’t even turn left or right. They told us we had to take those motorcycles out in traffic. They made us collect all the cones in the training area and, because there were only two motorcycles, told us to get on the bus and go to N1 4AG. After an hour on the road, we arrived there, and it was 1 o'clock. I waited until 3 for them to come. When they arrived, we waited another hour for them to prepare. At 4, we started the road driving. They did everything to purposely fail us. They got angry because I gave way to a pedestrian, because I didn't go 20 miles per hour but went even slower. At 5, we drove in Hackney Marshes traffic for an hour, and there were no issues. When we returned, they told me I didn’t pass the course because I didn’t go 20 miles per hour, but that they would arrange a new course for the next day. I want my money back. Fantastic experience: I did my Mod 1 training on Monday and passed the test today (Thursday). Simon was a great instructor, and I felt very well prepared for the test after the training. Definitely recommend the mod 1 training!

Negative experience: Absolutely waste of money, health and time doing my CBT. I am a beginner and was excited to learn driving scooter for my CBT. The teacher was 20 min late without apologising while we were waiting freezing outside on a car park without knowing if we were at the right place. We spent the training outside in winter conditions without water and anything to eat. I got to a point where I was so cold and dizzy I was nearly unwell. The teacher stopped me half way as I was not ready to go on the road. I am a beginner so it is normal I need time to learn. I was surprised to be with people who had driven for 2 years. The company refused to refund me as it mentioned it was part of their conditions. How are we supposed to learn if we are stopped in our practice? At least, offer the remaining hours on site for practice as I paid full price and took a day off. Don’t choose this company if you’ve never driven before.

Fantastic experience: Using London Motorcycle training (LMT) has been fantastic from start to finish! I have done my CBT, Gear conversion, MOD 1 training/MOD 1 test with this company and they have been excellent throughout so far. Very understanding and helpful, especially Karen in sorting all the test dates and training making it a smooth process from start to finish. I had Dan as my instructor for my CBT and Gear Conversion course who was great! Really patient and understanding, happy to give pointers and ultimately gave me the confidence to continue in getting my license. For my Mod 1 training and Test I had Simon who really is outstanding, from start to finish. Really informative and engaging. His way of teaching is refreshing, making you able to build a solid relationship quick so asking questions doesn’t seem so difficult. I cannot recommend using this company enough. As long as you show up on time and come with correct documentation and listen, I really cannot understand how you could have a bad experience. If you’re thinking of getting your bike license then do it and good luck!

Fantastic experience: I passed both Mod1 and Mod2 thanks to the tips and lessons by LMT. I had training with all teachers ( Simon, Stuart and Ewen) and have to say they all are brilliant with their different teaching styles. Special thanks to Ewen for his final tips on the way to the exam center which consolidated the knowledge like a cherry on the cake.

Fantastic experience: Firstly, the instructor Fabian was 10/10, these guys are clearly a school made up of really great riders / teachers who care about the knowledge and safety that they’re implementing, so I can’t fault their teaching whatsoever. However, really I wanted to give this experience 4 stars because the booking process is not that clear which left me feeling really frustrated when I turned up and saw that I had a moped instead of a motorbike. The website gives you 2 choices - manual or automatic. Manual was greyed out but it didn’t state that these are pre booked at a limit of 2 per class, so it was too easy to assume that maybe just teach automatic for now. My fellow moped rider also had the same frustration so it’s clearly an easy mistake to make and I wish it was clearer on the website. I phoned the centre and their response was to take up a gear change course following the cbt - a solution which would cost me more money and defeats the purpose of doing a CBT for the day to learn how to ride a motorbike. Thankful Fabian’s patience & good nature lifted me out of this frustrated state of mind and the day was enjoyable, but otherwise I would’ve probably left feeling really cheesed off. On the plus side I’ve been delivered a great cbt course so I can now go and get a manual bike and practice on this in my own time, it just would’ve been nice to have some experience of riding one as I’ll now essentially be going in blind on the controls.

Fantastic experience: I had my first ever CBT led by Fabian with little to no knowledge about mopeds , he was absolutely amazing. I was very nervous but he’s an excellent teacher , very calm and accommodating, if your thinking of booking I absolutely recommend this place to you , big thanks to Fabian for his help I also passed !

Fantastic experience: I had come in with a bit of riding experience but needed to reapply for a UK license since moving from another country. Thanks to Ewan who quickly straightened out all my bad habits and led me through both mod1 and mod2. I would highly recommend Ewan if you are looking to not only get through the tests but also how to ride safely and efficiently in real world environment. He will not leave you wondering if you have something right or wrong ! Which is exactly what you need when riding on the road. Otherwise LMT sorted all the admin for me and made the process as easy as it could be. Thank you Ewan !

I must say he was well mannered, very specific on details, rules & safety procedures and has perfectly taught me how to conduct myself while riding a motorcycle on the roads. Fantastic experience: Wanted to get some moped experience under tuition before potentially hiring a scooter on an up coming holiday. I've never even sat on a powered bike before, so I am a complete beginner. A days CBT course seemed the right option. Simon, the instructor, is brilliant. Perfect balance of calm, authoritative, attention to detail, and really put me ease with his personality. Can't recommend him enough. Great instructor! With Simon's instruction, I managed to improve enough on the off road section to be able to go out in the afternoon on busy North London streets and by the end of the day, was absolutely loving it and did enough to get my CBT certificate, which wasn't something I wasn't expecting at the 1st attempt. It's definitely ignited an interest in doing the A1 and A2 courses in the new year. Thanks Simon and LMT

His training technique was very effective—after riding for around 15 minutes, he would stop to give detailed feedback on every maneuver, and give context around potential dangers with clear explanations. Fantastic experience: Simon is a great instructor. He tells you everything you need to know without telling you stuff you don’t need to know to pass your test. He’s also got an exemplary demeanour for teaching: patient and firm when necessary, but never loses his temper. I couldn’t recommend him more.

His instructions were clear and he tailored the session to each student's level and capability. As someone who has never ridden a motorcycle, I was a bit nervous beforehand but JP made sure it all went smoothly.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT with Fabian and mod 1 training with Simon, both were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, I can’t recommend them enough. I learnt a lot and really enjoyed the training, Simon and Fabian are very patient, I recommend you ask for them when making your booking.

Positive experience: Instructor was really helpful and professional. I was bit disappointed to see CBT was in a group on four people instead of 121. That adds on time and reduce attention you get from instructor. I felt like he was focused on those who will definitely pass instead of putting more effort in helping those who was doing not so well. If you don’t have required clothes they will provide you with those, which is nice, however they are so worn out and dirty than I want to take a bath in sanitiser after wearing it. So be sure to have your own. Scooters also seen better times, partly broken, with squeaky brakes. It’s probably ok if you are renewing permit, but for 1st timers like myself I would rather find a place with 121 experience.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT course with London Motorcycle Training at the East Ham centre. Clark was a great instructor, huge focus on safety and road/traffic awareness explained everything really clearly. I really enjoyed going out for the test drive around east London, instructions over the mic/headpiece were clear and I felt well prepared after the morning of exercises and drills. Thank you, step 1 in the motorbike dream complete!

Fantastic experience: I did CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 training with these guys. In the process, I spent a couple of days riding with Ewan, Simon and Stuart. They have tonnes of knowledge and experience to draw from. Their primary goal is to prepare you well to pass the tests and they do. But man, you can get from them so much more than that. You could spent years learning the ropes of riding by trial and error, but I suggest you ask them all the motorcycling questions you have. I mean it. They are happy to answer and share their knowledge. The things I learned, i.e. how to properly maintain my helmet, about anger management on the road, the dos and donts of using the honk, riding in rainy conditions... The list goes on. Last but not least, Karen is great, she runs the show from the pillion seat. Makes me wonder, does she ride a bike?

Fantastic experience: John aka JP is an excellent instructor. Very patient and skilled in training newbies and experienced alike. I would highly recommend asking for him when booking with LMT.

Fantastic experience: Passed my full Cat A bike licence first time with LMT (CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2). Really good experience and helped simplify something I found a bit confusing just looking online. Can also do training days on weekends if you book in advance. Did most of my training for Mod 1 and 2 with Simon who was a really good instructor and offered good feedback with clear instructions. Also had a few other instructors, Dan, Ewan and Stuart, for test days and CBT who were also good. Recommend LMT if you’re looking to do your full bike test.

Negative experience: This is my genuine experience of doing a CBT course at London Motorcycle Training, and in all honesty I am surprised of all the good reviews, however if that is people's genuine experience then so be it. I booked my CBT at the West Ham training centre and when I arrived, there were 4 students and only 1 instructor. The instructor made it clear that if he were to take us on the road it will be 2 at a time, meaning 2 students will have to be left behind at any one time. To me this is indicative that their business model is to maximise their profits by not hiring more instructors and ultimately trying to get rid of 2 students before the On-Road element, to save the instructor time and effort. This was part 1 of the problem. Secondly, it seems to me that they ironically treat the CBT as a test and not a training course. They are ultimately looking for a reason to fail you and not teach you. I agree that during the course I struggled with the figure of 8 and the U-turn maneuver, however during my struggles the instructor was just observing me from a distance and not really approaching me to try and rectify my mistakes or give me any useful tips. Their method is very counter intuitive. If I knew how to ride a bike why would I partake in a "Training Course"? Thirdly, and this may not sound like a big deal but for the money you pay and in comparison to other schools the bikes they use are very old and outdated. 50CC mopeds from 2005/06 are what you are going to be taught on and unsurprising it's as if the rear brakes do not even work. Last but not least I was very disheartened when the school didn't even bother contacting me regarding my experience or try and offer me another course. I think good customer service should be the forefront of any business, and LMT clearly lack when it comes to customer service. Luckily I found another school that was very supportive and helpful, and with their help I managed to get my CBT on my first try. I wanted to get my full Motorcycle licence and quite clearly I'm not going to do it with LMT.

Fantastic experience: Fabian Russell was our instructor. What a brilliant teacher and such a nice guy. Made it easy for quite a mixed ability group. Kept us safe but made it relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend this instructor and this company - this is my 3rd CBT (don’t ask!) my first was with these guys last time I went to somewhere else and it was nowhere near as good so came back to them. Would use for lessons too when I do my A test.

Fantastic experience: Been wanting to ride a moped for years and I'm so glad to have completed my CBT with the instructor, Fabian. His teaching technique is thorough and you can see his passion for motorbikes. Being the only woman in the group, he made me feel super comfortable, especially when I made a few mistakes at the training ground, but every win was celebrated with motivating words. The second part of the day, we rode around the city, we experienced a heck of a lot for a learner: we hit heavy traffic and learnt how to weave safely move through that, a fair few emergency services passed us and we learnt how to slow down to the side, some horses were coming from the opposite direction in heavy traffic, again slowing down, we saw Tower Bridge go up, got front row seats! Did an emergency stop at the junction to avoid an accident! Went past my office on the way back, so now I know roughly what my route could look like! Fabian's encouragement continued and he's truly made me a confident rider at the end of it. I literally couldn't stop smiling throughout the whole day. I'm already looking to hire a moped before I buy and I've managed to convince my hubby to do CBT! Thank you Fabian and London Motorcycle Training, you've got a newbie biker on the road

He constantly taught us and explained to us everything with a positive, good vibe and manner on my MOD 2 test day. Thank you again Simon ! Fantastic experience: Took my CBT and passed my DAS Mod 1 & Mod 2 all the way through with London Motorcycle Training, having had zero motorbike experience, and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Dan ran my CBT training, and then Ewan, Simon and Stuart ran my Mod 1 & 2 training days. They were all great instructors, all with different styles so each day you felt like you were learning something new. The training days are really intensive, so that you feel well-prepared for your test. The structure of booking training and tests separately works well to accomodate your schedule, and I was able to move bookings easily as long as I gave 10 days' notice.

Fantastic experience: Went through the whole motorcycle training mod 1 & 2 with Stuart and Ewan, and have to say that it was worth it, as much hilarious they both are, they provided me with all crucial information how to ride towards passing, and I flew through both mod 1 & 2 passing 1st time round with couple minor faults, thank you both for my training and maybe catch either of you on the NC500.

I felt the need to challenge myself, though I doubted my ability to overcome it. It took me one year, from completing my CBT to obtaining a full motorbike license. Fantastic experience: Really very impressed by Laurie’s ability to take me from having never ridden a manual motorbike at 8am to being out on the roads by 1pm. Laurie gives super clear instructions, he’s very knowledgeable, patient but with high expectations, which is exactly what you need to learn both safely and confidently on the roads of London. Fantastic experience: Passed my Mod 2 today! I have only been on a bike 6 time including all training and test. But thanks to the instructors at LMT, especially the cheerful Ewan who i had for my full training days. And also Simon for getting me prepared on the day of Mod 2! I was able to pass all test first time even with the little experience I have. Highly recommended school. They teach you more than you actually need so you can go for your test full of confidence! Fantastic experience: This is not just a review. This is an honest opinion about my Cbt day with Fabian.The cbt instructor Fabian is really passionate. Because i was not used to see so much effort from instructors, at some point i felt he was doing too much. But throughout the day you realise that love what he does, love teaching, love motorbikes and he is excellent at what he does. This is my third cbt and honestly, no one is like him. for the first i completed two hours drive in road, it was worthy paying that money. At end i told him he reminds Simon. Simon deals with module 1 and module 2 students. They both actively intense, care about student, go into details and really what you to see you succeeding. Fantastic experience: Did a CBT on automatic scooter. Took 7 hours (with some lunch break), got certificate in the end. Simon the instructor was friendly, gave many super helpful advices as well as explanations for everything we had to know in order to ride safely, feel comfortable riding on streets now. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Just finished up my CBT in vauxhall with Fabian, who was an absolute legend. Super patient and motivated instructor who I'm delighted to have had for the day. Well recommended!
