Dan's Driving School

Fantastic experience: Dan’s driving lessons were top-notch. Dan doesn’t waste a moment of lesson time — he is always making you think about how you can improve your driving even when you are at a stoplight. I had put off learning how to drive for a long time because I was quite nervous about it all. But with Dan as a teacher, I was able to learn and become more confident with driving than I ever thought I would be, passing my test the first time. I am glad I found a teacher that wanted to teach me not just how to pass the test, but also how to actually become a good driver. Dan is a highly skilled, professional teacher. Consider yourself lucky if you can grab an available space in his teaching week.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test first time after less than two months of lessons with Dan. He was a very calm and relaxed instructor which made me feel completely safe but he also allowed me to push myself and improve my driving very quickly. I didn't just learn how to pass the test but also how to be a better driver in general and I think it's set me up to continue improving. I would highly recommend Dan as an instructor.

Fantastic experience: Dan has been an excellent driving instructor. I started lessons with him in August and passed first time early in December. I had a few lessons as a teenager 20 years ago and didn't enjoy it at all. I remember regularly not feeling confident or in control enough for the situation and never felt like i got the hang of cluth control. This never happened with Dan - we progressed at a steady rate, always consolidating things learned in previous lessons with new skills. I have a young daughter who doesn't sleep well - on the days where I felt drained of energy Dan tailored the lessons to focus on less "committing" driving whilst still teaching me so much. Repeated mistakes and bad habits were identified quickly and worked on until sorted. I wanted to be able to drive on the motorway relatively quickly, be comfortable driving around town with my daughter, and get out to the peak to go climbing independently. We did a number of motorway sessions, and spent a lot of time honing in on the skills needed to drive safely in the city centre (many sessions on the multi-lane roundabouts), and did some great sessions driving around on the little country roads in the peak. This meant we went well above and beyond what was required for the driving test - invaluable experience for a new driver! Cant recommend Dan highly enough. Always calm, a huge wealth of knowledge and experience, and dedicated to teaching you what it takes to drive well in so many different scenarios, not just to pass your test!

Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test today on my first attempt. Dan is a really exceptional instructor and is very good at identifying what your weaknesses are and coaching you through to improve on those. I am normally a pretty nervous person, however I went into my test quite confident as I knew I had been taught everything to a high standard. I would definitely recommend Dan, and I imagine most people would pass fairly quickly under his tutelage.

Fantastic experience: Could not recommend Dan highly enough. I passed first time thanks to him and, more importantly, he helped me become a safe and confident driver. He takes the time to understand his students, their abilities and how they learn best. He is calm and always takes time to explain things (sometimes several times for me!). It was a pleasure learning with him.

Fantastic experience: Dan is a total hero. I've had other driving instructors in the past buy this guy is significantly better. He's calm, collected and really takes the time to listen to you, ensuring a tailored learning experience. You'll not only be in the best possible position to pass your test but you'll also become a confident, safe driver. In the past I bought into 'pass in a week' schemes which, with hindsight, just seem silly. For some people it'll take longer than others but with Dan you can be assured to be ready as soon as you personally can be. I'm confident booking with this guy is the best thing you could do towards passing your driving test.

Fantastic experience: Dan's a great instructor, been a nervous pupil, he put me at ease straight away, he didn't teach me the test route and teach me just enough to pass on the day, he taught me how to drive and drive properly for life. With Dan's thorough teaching each lesson, I didn't need as many lessons as I thought and passed first time, I can highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dan was absolutely fantastic. Put very simply I went to him with a test date, he told me exactly how many lessons I would need to pass, and I passed first time. He turned up on time, was flexible around the times of day I was free, was incredibly knowledgable and a good laugh in the process. Will reccomend to anyone looking to get their test passed safely. Worth every penny.
