Fantastic experience: Phil is a great teacher, and importantly he doesn't just teach you to pass the test but drive well long after also. On a few occassions I had to move lessons etc. and each time he was very accommodating. Not to mention he is easy to talk to and has good humor. I would recommend to anyone who cares about the quality of their driving as well as passing the test.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test today thanks to Phil. I had lessons a few years ago with pass n go, but wasn't taught very well. I restarted driving lessons earlier this year with Phil, and I had alot to learn. Phil taught me everything I needed to know about driving, going right back to basics. His techniques are thorough, simple, and effective. He has all the patience in the world, and genuinely cares about his pupils. Always goes the extra mile to help his pupils. He is so down to earth. By far the absolute best driving instructor in Darlington. He knows everything there is to know about driving, and he knows how to do things properly. Phil's teaching methods are great. He knows his stuff. He made a good safe driver out of me. Phil is purely amazing at what he does. Absolutely fantastic! I'd recommend him to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Phil is a fantastic driving instructor and we would highly recommend him. He taught our son Josh to drive with incredible patience and understanding. Josh thoroughly enjoyed his lessons with Phil, which is a credit to Phil's caring and supportive nature. Phil in very professional and knowledgable, and he really built Josh's confidence up throughout their lesson time, allowing his to pass his test. We couldn't recommend Phil more highly!

Negative experience: Sadly, a good driver does not a good instructor make. A good teacher is someone who can understand and adapt to their student’s needs and learning style. Phil definitely knows his stuff when it comes to driving, and if you can put up with being criticised and put down, then he might be the guy for you. But don’t expect much flexibility or patience. Despite my respectfully expressing (on several occasions) that being berated does not motivate me, the behaviour continued to the point where I’d get home and cry after my lesson (this also happened on several occasions). I was amazed I made it through my test route when Phil had told me I’d be turned around in the first 5 minutes. I failed because I was driving too slow, and my examiner said I just needed to be more confident (I wonder why).

Fantastic experience: Great driving instructor that I couldn't recommend highly enough. Judged my driving ability perfectly and let me know how much work I had to put in to get good enough for my test. If you listen and work with him then he'll absolutely do his part to get you up to speed and a pass on your test. Thanks again Phil!
