Fantastic experience: It was a pleasure to learn driving with James. I was able to pass the test, huge thanks to him. He used many different techniques to teach how to handle different situations in the road, which helped me learn and also made the driving lessons enjoyable. He was calm and patient, which went a long way in settling down my nerves and helped me focus on the driving. I will definitely recommend James to anyone who is learning to drive.

He would go the extra mile to send me videos to help me out in my free time to better my driving, also he was very reassuring and clear explaining things to me so I could understand. Starting with another instructor I hated learning how to drive with the environment often being intense and uncomfortable. Fantastic experience: After having had 3 previous instructors, a fail, and then a 15 year gap between lessons, I can safely say James was far and away the best instructor I've ever had! He not only got me test ready in less than 9 months, but he also got me to the point of actually ENJOYING driving. I went into my test with a lot more confidence than many of my friends who've been learning around the same time. He's very patient, good humoured and positive. He comes armed with a wealth of knowledge, methods, and tips. His lessons and teaching style were very fluid and tailored around my needs. He doesn't just assume that his style style of teaching is the only way, he'll ask you for your input and work around your learning style and what you find useful. He himself is constantly learning and sharing new theories and techniques he's learnt online, in books, at courses, or from other instructors. He also seems to have a strong focus on psychology. If you make a mistake or struggle with something, he won't chastise you for it, he'll just ask "why?" and unpack your thought process behind certain decisions so that you're aware of what you're doing and less likely to do it again. It's part-therapy, part-Jedi mind trick! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!

Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable, patient, effective. It's so hard to put into just a few words how brilliant James is. The first thing to note is that James is calm and has impact as a driving instructor. He is supportive and highly skilled, his patience and understanding really makes his car a great learning environment. He works to individual needs and tailors each driving lesson to what is needed moving forward based on experience and goals set up from the previous lesson. There is a systematic and thoughtful approach that he uses. His car is brilliant and offers the latest tech which he talks through to explain. James uses a tablet with software to aid learning, including videos, photos and specialised apps to give the learner every opportunity to understand the different situations you can find yourself in on the road. You receive a folder with information and space to keep a log of your progress, achievements and areas to improve which has helped greatly. James is very skilled in his teaching and support in learning to drive. His approach is very understanding, he is kind and offers practical solutions to driving guidance, road awareness and also as a very nervous driver lacking in confidence, James worked with me to build my confidence each session. He continues to attend courses himself to stay up to date with the latest information and is always aware of changes and additions to the highway code and driving updates. I started lessons with James with so much anxiety as I had previously failed a test 10 years ago. After 6 months of lessons with James, I passed my test. Thank you so much James for your teaching, encouragement and supportive nature, you're the best! I recommend James to anyone and everyone who mentions that they would like to learn to drive. My sister is now also learning with James.

Fantastic experience: James’ ability to reassure me and help me stay grounded in my thinking was one of the main contributing factors as to why I passed my test the first time. His humour and calming nature helped me stay confident during our lessons, he also had a very proactive and patient way of teaching which helped me pick up a lot of skills very quickly. The lesson before my test I was pretty nervous, but James was very encouraging and thanks to his wisdom and humour he helped me calm down a lot and I was prepared to enter a more positive mindset for the test. I would definitely recommend him for an instructor!
