5DAY Sidcup Intensive Driving Courses: Reviews
Negative experience: Please read this before you book with 5Day for your driving test. I did a 5Day driving course back in August 2023 in the Sidcup Centre. The actual course is a good idea and I felt the best way for me to learn to drive would be doing a week of back to back driving, which 5day provided. However, what they do not tell you is that you will be waiting ages for your test… My 5Day instructor at the time was providing all of us on the course with false hope of people who had done the 5Day course and then had their driving test the next week. This was definitely not the case for me. I feel that what 5Day is really lacking is that you do the course over the five days and then that’s it. No more lessons or practicing, they just wish you “luck” at the end of the course and it’s done. You go onto a waiting list for a test date and have no idea when this will be, they can only tell you what number you are on the list. What do they expect for learners to do the whole time they are waiting for their test date? I waited 9 months for my driving test…. how could you expect anyone to just do the course, wait 9 months without any lessons and then just pass their driving test! I had booked this course to have the week of intensive driving and then have my test shortly after, in fact I believe they advertise that you get your test “quicker”, which would be an absolute lie. Overall, I was very disappointed with 5Day. I had spent a lot of money on this course and it really did not deliver to my expectations. I hope that anybody who is looking to do a driving course will read my review and take this into consideration. I do not want any other young learner drivers to book this course with high expectations. So, after having the 5Day driving course in August 2023, I did not have my test until April 2024!!! I passed my test first time, but it is only down to my own hard work after practicing driving every week with my family for the whole 9 months I was waiting for my test. I really do think that things need to be changed with the process of 5Day course and I am very disappointed after spending a lot of money on this course.
Negative experience: Couldn't book an intensive course on the website as it seemed faulty, very frustrating, will book with another company.
Negative experience: Very odd and aggressive driving instructors. Was a passenger in a car happily following them with no issues and of course space for a Learner. I guess it was the instructor driving and he started aggressively shouting something at me through closed window. Peculiar behaviour not what you’d want from an instructor
Negative experience: Hi, I would like to book driving lessons with you, as I live near you BR5 4BW . I would like to know the prices and when I can do that?
Negative experience: Theory lessons absolutely useless waste of money, just download the "Theory 4 in 1 DSL" app. The teacher just made us do that app for 2 hours everyday. Lessons over priced find a driving instructor will be cheaper. - as requested the reference number SD-ZWJGD I attended this course and it was awful total scam.
Please provide a booking reference number to authenticate your participation.
Fantastic experience: Absolutley brilliant highly Recommend Nilesh Patel was my instructor helped me improve my driving / Skills an to an week an half after my coarse i had test and past with 1 minor. Very thorough and gives good instruction. Thanks 5days and Nilesh Patel
Negative experience: APPALLING SERVICE- A CON.. I was at Sidcup Test Centre last week when a young lady came in crying. She said she was due to take a driving test but could not find her 5Day instructor. She had had an intensive course costing well over £1,000 but was told she had to pay for more driving lessons before she would be ready for test. During her course and lessons, her instructor made her go to the office at the start and end of lessons. Though she only lived about 10 minutes drive from the office at Blackfen, it took 2 buses each way. The instructor was unreliable and failed to turn up for lessons including the one prior to test. The client, with difficulty, contacted the instructor to be told to go to the office at 0830 for an 0840 test! The young lady went to the office at 0730 in case the instructor was early and would give some warm up time before test. When the instructor failed to show she ran to the test centre in distraught state. We tried to contact her instructor who did not answer calls or text.. We managed to contact the office for 5Day when they finally answered their phone first at 0910, but they could not offer any explanation. This service is appalling, I do hope the lady was given a new reliable instructor, reimbursed thoroughly and a new test paid for.. I advised her to stop wasting her money and find a well reviewed independent local driving instructor..
We are somewhat surprised by your comments as they are factually incorrect. The matter to which you are referring has been investigated thoroughly and the instructor was not at fault. We do not comment on independant instructors teaching procedures and the 5DAY course is structured and all pupils and instructors attend the training centre daily to meet after the initial briefings. If you wish to know exactly how the course runs we would suggest contacting 5DAY on 01603 616909
Negative experience: Absolute sham of a company. Definitely listen to the bad reviews because they state the facts. I've heard so many complaints on Facebook and from friends about this company. It's not even advisable to learn to drive in 5 days. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Unfortunately we have no way of verifying theses comments as the person has not given their real name or their course reference.
Negative experience: Driving instructor was horrible and made me cry to the point where I didnt want to drive on the road with him anymore and couldn't wait for the week to be over. Waste of money.
We are somewhat confused with your review of a course you attend back in 2017. On your course week you did not make any mention of any issues and scored your instructor highly and passed your theory test first time giving the course 5/5. We would have expected if you were upset on your course to have spoken with the course trainer or head office at the time. Perhaps even contact us straight after your course but we have not heard anything from you since your course back in 2017.
Negative experience: Course helped me pass theory test, good teacher and easy process. Don't waste your money on this However the driving part was a very bad experience, you cant learn to dive in 5 days. impossible. Don't be scammed by the 'Unlimited driving lessons if you fail'... 9 times out of ten they will say your not ready and you have to go get more lessons and come back when your ready, that's what i done and have now passed without 5days help at all. Absolute robbery. At the end they offered rewards for putting up a good review? not sure if that's legal? so most the good reviews you see are probably forced :/
We have never offered rewards for any type of reviews. Pupil can make their own reviews likewise we always leave any negatives reviews up and give true responses. The pupil decides if they feel ready for the test and if you do make an error and fail we do offer free lessons to fix the serious fault that caused you to fail.
Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend, really nice and helpful instructors and great experience.
Thank you Georgie for your kind words
Negative experience: Be very wary of this company and of any reviews from "reviewers" who have only ever posted one or two reviews The wording on the website is intentionally misleading to encourage customers to believe that they will pass their test for £1000. However, this is far from the truth and this week my son, along with 4 others , did not get near even taking the test. And that is the end of this company's involvement or responsibility as far as the manager sees things. When challenged on this, the manager (obviously well versed in deflecting blame and responsibility at the end of the week) said he was not responsible for what the website says and to take any complaints up with head office! This place he explained, offers a "course" of 20 hours of lessons and a theory test for a grand. It's a pretty expensive way to do that, which may I admit suit some, but my one star review is based on the way they word their website which is misleading and intentionally ambiguous and that they pursue this business model knowingly and actively. Despite what the website says, in real life you get 20 hours of practical driving for your £1000 and when they at the end of the week deem you not ready for the test, they absolve themselves of any more responsibility. In fact when I pressed the manager on what else they would do at the end of the course to help get my son ready for the test, he ran through a ready list of get-outs, including 1. call Head Office, 2. Nothing to do with him, 3. GDPR means he could not do anything, 4. There was no one available for extra lessons ... and it went on. It was so laughable, that I asked whether I could tape him, which he objected to. When asked whether he had in his opinion discharged his responsibilities and fulfilled his obligations, he repeatedly refused to answer. The actual fact is that 5day, according to the manager himself, could not even offer a single extra lesson - let alone "unlimited" lessons if you do not pass after 20 hours of lessons, a time frame the instructor himself said was not realistic and not to be recommended, naming 60 hours as a number that would be better! Be that as it may, if you are thinking of paying this vast sum, ask them how anyone could possibly avail themselves of "unlimited" lessons until they pass if they don't actually have any free instructors? Before paying any money to these people, try and get in writing what will happen if you don't pass the test - or in fact are not even entered for the test, which if you look at the Trustpilot and other independent reviews (again be wary of the glowing isolated ones) seems to be their modus operandi for a large number of disappointed customers. The answer may leave you disappointed and shocked though I would be amazed if they answered this question directly. In short, a company that you trust at your own peril, who feel no obligation towards you once you have done the "course" of 20 hours, and whose model doesn't work (at least this week) in 100% of cases. Search for independent reviews! Look at the bad ones. Save your money.
Thank you for your review - however as you have not stated the person who attended the course or when the course was we cannot check the pupils record to verify your comments. We note we do not have a pupil with the same surname at this centre but happy to investigate if we are provided with the customers details
Fantastic experience: Excellent instructors and well worth the money highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great theory lessons, driving lessons and instructors would recommend to anyone
Fantastic experience: An excellent week, with no training or knowledge before I've passed my theory first time and will be nearly ready for the practical after a bit more practice. Everything is very calm and I've felt tired but rewarded each day.
Fantastic experience: It take me to finish a little longer than expected, but with the helpful and supportive instructors, I managed to correct all my mistakes and successfully done my final test! Thank you for it!
Fantastic experience: Decided to give an intensive course a go as I'd previously had lessons but wanted to pass my test quickly to a lack of free time. This course was fantastic, the instructor was great, very relaxed and fully willing to adapt their teaching style to suit me. The classroom teaching is also great, passed the theory first time and had a practical test booked inside of two weeks from finishing the course. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Had a Brilliant week here, Staff and training were first class, I would highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Great week. Weds was the most hard day but they are willing to help put that right when you are finding it touch and help you on your way to driving.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely top quality instruction, worth every penny. I began lessons on the 5th June, passed my test first time on the 21st June, with just one minor. I simply couldn't recommend these guys enough!
Fantastic experience: Me personally coming from no knowledge to what I know now, to actually passing the theory and booking the practical test. In only 5 days I know how to drive safely. A big thank you to Dorian and John.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant week great value for money !!
Fantastic experience: Great week with amazing tutors and instructors. Worth the money and would highly recommend.
