Fantastic experience: Steve was an absolutely incredible instructor. I contacted him five days prior to my test within three lessons test ready I passed with no minors no Majors such a great guy very comfortable to have in the passenger seat.

Fantastic experience: Steve is a fantastic instructor and very knowledgable! He was very calm, very fun to learn from and instilled a lot of confidence in me! I would definitely recommend for any beginner or experienced driver doing an extended driving test to book in with Steve! I have done 2 tests and numerous lessons with another instructor and failed, but I had 2 lessons with Steve and passed straight away! His car was fantastic to drive and definitely made the whole process a lot easier! Steve in my opinion is one of the best driving instructors out there!

Fantastic experience: Steve is super friendly, funny and one of the most patient people I've had the pleasure to meet. I've been taking lessons with him for 18 months and was able to adjust and learn at my own pace. Steve was a supportive figure when I got overwhelmed and taught me not to let mistakes eat away at me. He's also a firm teacher who coaxed me out of my comfort zone, helped build up my confidence, and never gave up on me. This week, I passed my first test with no faults and glowing praise from my examiner; I am so tremendously proud, and I never doubted I could do it with such a great teacher by my side. If you're like me who was on-the-fence about driving initially, I cannot recommend Colchester Driving School enough. Thank you so much Steve!!

Fantastic experience: Passed my test first time with Steve, a very friendly, encouraging and a generally great guy to learn with. Covered all of the common pitfalls of learner drivers and makes sure you're comfortable with the more notorious junctions and roundabouts of Colchester. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent instructor to get them through the test! Two years on, and many of the things that Steve taught have stuck with me through my drives to Italy and beyond!

Fantastic experience: Honestly one of the best instructors I’ve ever had, I really thought I was going to be one of those people who would just never get driving as after years of different lessons and instructors I never progressed. But Steve is so patient and really believes in his pupils, I have recommended Steve to multiple family members and now I’m a safe and confident driver thanks to Steve ! He really goes above and beyond to accommodate your situations, and for that I’m forever thankful. Thank you Steve !

I had limited time to practice driving but Steve managed to make it work despite being fully booked by moving things around. Negative experience: Called and messaged a few times, after a week he messaged to say he can’t help. Useless, terrible way to treat someone who wanted to buy a block of 30 lessons starting late December early Jan!!!

Fantastic experience: Steve is a fantastic instructor who teaches you how to drive a car, not how to pass your test. Encouraging and funny, and very flexible with scheduling. I was able to pass my test in a couple months with only one minor fault.

Fantastic experience: I failed 4 tests with two previous instructors, so I decided to find a new instructor. After a few months with Steve I passed straight away! Steve’s lessons are fun, precise and relaxed! Wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

Fantastic experience: My granddaughter was let down at the last minute by a well known driving school. I contacted Steve & he took Ellie on straight away & started teaching her to drive. She has just past her test with no minors. Steve was very easy to deal with & made the whole process very simple & is also a very nice & friendly person. Ellie enjoyed her lessons because of Steve’s teaching style & he made her feel relaxed in a normally stressed environment as a learner. He doesn't just try and pass you for his own pass rate and rush you through it all, but makes sure that you are actually confident driving and know what you're doing and why you're doing it. Fantastic experience: Steve is an extremely friendly and thorough instructor. He's not one of those who will just rush you through all the syllabus, he takes time to ensure you understand anything you are unclear about. I can't recommend him highly enough. He had great flexibility to fit teaching me to drive around my schedule and as someone who was a little nervous when they were first behind the wheel, he really helped to boost my confidence on the road. 10/10
