Fantastic experience: Very good driving instructor, would recommend

Fantastic experience: I struggled with driving in the past (going from manual to automatic and then back to manual) & never felt quite comfortable or at ease with the instructors; but with Philip things changed. He really cares and it shows through his teaching style, he's extremely calm, patient & funny, so as an older learner - this really did help me alot, as I'm quite a nervous & anxious person, & this whole learning experience was- way out of my comfort zone!!! It took me a while to feel competent in my driving ability (1 year & 3 months) but I did get there in the end! My driving test day came around so quickly in the end (19/02/25) & I passed first with time (with 4 minors) at the age of 39 with four months to go until my 40th birthday! This as been the most nerve wreaking & mind blowing experience ever, I never imagined myself driving & now I am! I started with a goal in mind & Philip helped me achieve that goal & I will be forever grateful. Take care Philip & thank you again!!! Keshia

Fantastic experience: Amazing instructor. No pressure on when to book lessons and is flexible with time. Teaches all required techniques clearly and gives examples of different scenarios you may encounter while driving. Provides a good laugh during lessons, and gives constant feedback in lessons. He often does mock tests prior to an upcoming lesson and they're almost identical to you real exam. 5/5, 100% recommend if your nervous about driving.

Fantastic experience: Before being a student of Philip I had never even sat behind a wheel so my nerves have always been very bad. It's been a long road and I have finally passed today on my fourth attempt! Philip has always been punctual for lessons and very calm and patient with me and never made me feel silly. I am so thankful for all his help and patience! Definitely recommend if you are a very nervous, anxious person like myself. Plus his jokes always brought a smile to my face and helped ease the nerves in lessons!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Philip enough. He's so patient, calm and I always felt comfortable and relaxed whilst driving. He is well organised and had never let me down, even at last minute lessons. His even flow of jokes and funny stories inbetween teaching made for a fun and calm experience, really helped to settle nerves. Fantastic experience: I really recommend Phillip, especially for anxious drivers like me. Phillip has patience like no other, he’s calm, well knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease. Although it took me a few attempts to pass due to nerves/luck! Phillip reassured me of my driving; he took me on test routes, mock tests, parking, show/tell me questions and even made sure/advised on how many lessons I need. I had the worse luck ever with previous driving instructors and I just wish I found Phillip sooner! I honestly recommend him for your children/yourself/ or to any friends/family. Fantastic experience: I had a previous driving instructor that gave me driving anxiety and completely shattered my confidence. I started lessons with Philip a few months later and he completely built me back up again and helped me to pass my test. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Terry Driving School to anyone who is looking to pass their driving test! Philip is a patient, experienced and honest instructor. I have never felt forced to have any lessons I didn’t need and Philip instructs you at your own pace. Step by step, Philip helped me reach the confidence I needed to pass my test. Most importantly, I always found myself driving with a smile :)

Fantastic experience: Phillip has been an amazing instructor from the beginning. I started my lessons last July and I was a nervous driver who had never driven before. He built my confidence and was able to plan lessons around my strengths and weaknesses. He has always been punctual and never missed a lesson. Fantastic experience: He was great with me, even though I got messed around with tests he still worked round it for me even at last minute. I know how busy he's been because of lock down and fitting people in but he still made sure I got lessons in at times suitable for me (round work and school runs) made me feel at ease, and of course I loved driving his car such a nice drive lol

Fantastic experience: What a great instructor. Never fails to make you smile and feel comfortable when learning. Always tells you how your progressing, covers everything that you would need to know, always tells you what your doing wrong and how to improve on it and then you go over it until you’ve nailed it. I was one of these where I made silly mistakes and being told where I was going wrong, what I need to do to fix it helped me progress and become a better driver. Fantastic experience: I was able to pass my driving test with Philip and I appreciate everything he did as an instructor. Philip was very patient and calm which I think is very helpful to drivers at all stages in their learning experience. But at the same time he pointed out my mistakes and ensured I understood how to avoid the mistakes, and why I needed to avoid them. This of course was very important when it came to my test. Because of Philip I understood exactly what was required of me for my test and ultimately, to be able to pass. Philip's support was great and I'm happy to now have my driver's license. I one hundred per cent recommend Philip as an instructor to anybody looking for lessons.

Fantastic experience: I got recommended Philip by a friend after feeling I wasn't ready for my upcoming test and I needed that extra bit of practice before I was confident I could go into the test with a good chance of passing. I was struggling to get the extra time with my current instructor as it was more of a part time thing for him rather than something he was 100% dedicated to doing. My confidence of passing my test I had already booked with him was pretty low. With me feeling I was far from ready, I booked a full day with Philip, a solid 8 hours on a Saturday and it was honestly the best decision I could have made. Philip's teaching methods are second to none, he was honestly a class above with his teaching and it made me realize quickly on what I was missing out on with my current instructor. The amount of detail that goes into his teaching made me take massive strides, very quickly under the teaching of Philip. Not only was his attention to detail impeccable, he was also very patient, funny, professional and understanding. He is 110% dedicated to providing you with the best learning experience. Philip's mock tests were something that made me quickly understand the level I was at, and what I needed to improve on. Playing a character as 'Mr Mean' during these mock tests gave a different experience to my learning, acting out as a serious, reserved driving examiner to replicate the potential real testing environment. Interestingly I had a driving examiner similar to this on my real test, so I was very ready for it thanks to the character Philip played. After my all day lesson , I was extremely happy with the amount of progress I had made and booked with Philip another 6 hours the following weeks before my test. I am 100% sure that I wouldn't have been no where near as prepared as I was after experiencing the level of teaching that Philip provides. I actually asked Philip for more lessons, but to his credit he told me he felt I was ready and didn't feel I needed more with him. This is testament to type of character Philip is, most other instructors would have been happy just to take my money. Today i had my test and managed to pass first time and I owe a lot of this to Philip and his teaching. My only regret is not finding Philip sooner. His knowledge of the Wednesbury test center and routes is first class. I would highly recommend him as a driving instructor, it would be extremely hard to find better, if even possible. Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Philip was a great experience, his patience was very much appreciated and helpful, i never felt under pressure and he always gave clear instructions. He always aims to keep you smiling by telling jokes or anecdotes, and they definitely work, they put you at ease and increases your confidence in your own ability. Lessons were tailored to your needs and he always asked what my confidence level was before and after a certain task, i found this very helpful to show my progress. I cannot recommend him highly enough, i will definitely be referring my friends and family to him.

Fantastic experience: After 7 failed tests with a reputable driving school that use BMW's i felt i was too nervous to ever pass. I was recommended Philip from a family friend. It's very apparent he loves his job, Phil will explain not what you need to do but why you need to do it whilst maintaining an upbeat attitude to put you at ease. Lessons went from something i dreaded to something i looked forward to(especially his cheesy joke of the day) I'm happy to say i passed with him first time and if i can anyone can. We had mock tests to help me feel at ease with the test atmosphere where (even though out of character) Phil would become a mean examinor to get me ready for any situation i may come across. I'd recommend Phil to anyone, in fact I've insisted my mom starts lessons with him because she too is very nervous. If you not only want to pass the test but want to be a safe and more eco friendly driver long term Phil is your man.

Fantastic experience: I have driven for over 30 years and was never taught to parallel park ,Philip was patient and calm and clear in his instructions how to do it. Would definitely recommend this driving instructor.
