At first meet, the professionalism was on point in terms of explanation and guidance on how the lessons will go and how I would be monitored and trained in different areas. I was a nervous learner. Not only was I made comfortable but also reassured. I kept practicing and practicing areas I needed extra help on. Also extra guidance outside of lessons was the extra effort that was given. Such as self made videos on manoeuvres. And maps of roads you find difficult and visual representation on how to approach a certain route. Finally just overall a very nice person. I was put at ease knowing I had someone experienced and in general someone who actually cared in terms of driving but also mental state. And again, thank you to my instructor. And for anyone reading I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Bal is an excellent driving instructor, I strongly recommend him: 5/5! I was personally very new to driving in the UK, and had not driven in last 12 years. But, Bal made a great impact on my driving skills, starting from the very basics to advanced roundabouts and manoeuvres. Bal made each step look easy, enjoyable and boosted my confidence through every passing lesson upto me passing my driving test at Featherstone. Bal's teaching approach made learning to drive a wonderful experience, which looked scary to start with. This is rooted in Bal's personal touch, and that he genuinely and immensely cares about students' success and truly strives to make them responsible & safe drivers. Through an encouraging & supportive environment which Bal creates in his lessons, I could overcome my road fear and he thoroughly prepared me for every aspect of the test. His patience and focus on understanding my strengths and weaknesses as a driver were truly commendable, and I felt extremely comfortable and assuring to be under the guidance and supervision of such a knowledgeable & experienced instructor. Bal fully prepared me to drive in two test centers, Wednesbury and Featherstone, and he has extensive in-depth knowledge of all the test routes in these areas. He knows all the critical junctions, situations and roundabouts in these test routes. He takes us to these critical junctions and roundabouts multiple times to make sure we can face any challenging situation in a test-like environment. I took my test in Featherstone, for which Bal perfectly knows the regions and areas where learner drivers tend to make most faults, and he takes us to these areas multiple times, to make sure we don't repeat these mistakes. Almost all roads which I went during my test were covered by Bal, so I was feeling fully in control during my test. Bal brings his years of driving experience in making all the manoeuvres extremely easy for new drivers. Within minutes, I had the complete confidence of performing reverse bay park, reverse parallel park, reverse round the kerb, etc. without any hesitation. His techniques for manoeuvres using markers are so easily fine tuned for each driver. Following his techniques, it is almost impossible to make any errors in any manoeuvres during tests if we follow them thoroughly. Bal takes immense effort in making sure we perform these manoeuvres with extreme accuracy. His car is also very smooth to drive, and has state-of-the-art technologies, which makes sure we are always safe. Because of these benefits, Bal makes even a new beginner driver fully well equipped to pass the test for the first time without absolutely any fear! Bal is extremely punctual with regular lesson reminders and accommodates all your busy work and travel schedules. I took over 30 lessons from Bal, as I had a lot of work and personal travel in between. But Bal always remembered the mistakes I was making, and which errors I made 3 weeks ago at which junction. This helped me successively improve and avoid any mistakes, and pass my test with just 2 minor faults. He is very professional, and with him you feel like you are learning from a friend or a family. He makes sure we get quick test booking for theory and practical tests in the test centers of our choice. Therefore, I never ever had to worry or wait for any booking for a long time. In conclusion, I very very highly recommend you to take driving lessons with Bal. He will make your driving journey which is scary for many, a very positive and worthwhile experience, for which I can never thank him enough! :) :)

Negative experience: My daughter had 6 driving lessons with Rafiq, absolutely awful. He was always cancelling her lessons and his teaching was not good, he didn't even get her to read a number plate from a distance. Didn't tell her what road signs meant and just took her on the same route every time. We're now with another driving instructor different company and she's amazing. He shouldn't be allowed to teach.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test today. The instructor is rather skilled, patient and professional who taught me how to drive correctly and safely in a short period of time. When I started my lessons I was nervous and not very confident on the roads but he always made me feel comfortable on my lessons and ensured that any questions I had were answered and made sure I understood the answer, the way in which he explained things helped me gain more confidence and enabled me to pass. The instructor has been punctual to all lessons and I loved his calm approach to my mistakes. I would 100% recommend GBN driving school.

Fantastic experience: Passed today in Wednesbury, first attempt with 2 minor faults. All thanks to GBN especially my instructor Rafiq. He was very nice and reassuring, kept telling me he had no doubt whatsoever about me and that boosted my confidence. Pointed out everything I needed to know to pass and we even practiced my test route the day yesterday. He was always punctual for classes and would always wait for me at the train station. Negative experience: My daughter initially had a couple of lessons with Bal and really enjoyed them. She found him to be patient, nice, funny who put her at ease. We then decided to put the lessons on hold just until my daughter finished her exams and asked Bal if we could continue them after a few months to which he agreed. I then booked the test but It took a while for me to get in touch with Bal as he wasn’t answering any of my calls but when I called from a different number, he picked up straight away. This was a red flag as it was clear he was avoiding me but I dismissed it at the time as he said he had been unwell. He also informed me that price had increased from £30 to £32.50 (another red flag). My daughter finally continued with the lessons and the test was 2 months away. Bal then started to cancel some lessons and rearrange them to suit himself and not my daughter. He booked a 7am lesson and then didn’t bother showing up! I called to ask why and again ignored my calls. When my husband called from his phone, Bal answered straight away. When questioned why he didn’t turn up, he said he took a family member to hospital and left his phone at home. He thought it was ok to leave a 19yr old waiting outside at 7am. After being messed around by Bal, we decided not to continue with him anymore My daughter was left without an instructor and resulted in having to cancel her test as she was starting University. He was regularly taking phone calls during the driving lessons too quoting £30. We wasted over £600. Disgusting service!

Negative experience: I started my lessons with Bal back in March, so at the time of writing this review, I've known Bal for quite a while. The plus side with Bal is that he was very patient and nice, and I genuinely enjoyed our lessons. I thought we established a great relationship. However, over time, some red flags started showing. After our 2nd lesson, I thought driving wasn't for me. I blocked booked my lessons - I paid for 5 lessons in 1 go. I messaged Bal to let him know I didn't think driving was for me, but he read and ignored my message. Then, I called him on the number he had for me and he blanked my calls. However, then I called him on a different number and he picked up that call no problem, which confirmed to me that he was avoiding me. When we spoke, he brushed it off as he wanted to give me a bit of time to think, as he thought I would change my mind, so that's why he didn't pick up. I overlooked it because he was holding my money, and someone mentioned in a previous review they had problems with him over money. Another red flag for me was when he messaged me to say his price had changed. His price still remained competitive, so I didn't think too much of it. But when I was on a lesson with him, someone called and he said his lessons were £30 an hour. Then he quickly corrected himself and said it is £30 for the week, and £32.50 for the weekend (I'm a weekender). Again, I decided to overlook this, but it did make me wonder if I was being overcharged in comparison to everyone else... Bal has cancelled on me at least 4/5 times. At the time of writing this review, he didn't turn up for our lesson and didn't bother to tell me why. His previous reason was he was accompanying his friend to buy her car so had to cancel on me, which I thought was a lousy excuse. This to me is incredibly frustrating as my exam is next month and I keep getting cancelled on. I'm so sick of the cancellations. As a result, I've decided to not continue with him anymore as the way I'm being treated is not fair. I have to rate this kind of service poor; I'm now left without an instructor and my test is a month away.

Fantastic experience: Bal was a great driving instructor. He did teach me from basics of driving to the complicated ones with simple instructions so that it's easy to understand. He was also calm, patient and will make you feel less nervous when driving as he treats you like a friend. Will definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Bal duped me. I paid £580 to GBN driving school account for 20hours lessons, I only took 14 hours lessons, He said he will not refund me 2hours because I cancelled in less than 24hours in advance. On my last day with him in his car on 7th march, I told him I was not happy to continue with him as he has been too harsh and insultive in answering some questions which I am not happy with. I told him to refund me my 4hours, £120, £30 per hour, since I cancelled the 4 hours 3 days in advance. he agreed and I sent him my account details for the refund. After 3 days, he sent me £56 instead of £120. Up till now, he has not replied to my messages or pick my call to request for my refund.

Fantastic experience: Amazing instructor hands down!! He will make you feel so comfortable you won't notice the lesson is over and you won't want it to end. A very professional and calming person will help you straightrn everything out without getting irritated or showing any signs of annoyance. Passed first time with him and gave me the most amazing tips and pointers. Even if he had a waiting list I'd advice you to get on the list because it will be completely worth it.

Fantastic experience: It's been great learning with the instructor Balwinder. This instructor makes sure you go through everything you need to pass your test and makes sure you're ready. After failing the first time in Kingstanding due to my lack of focus, I finally passed today at the Wednesbury driving test centre.
