Established in 2005. Checkmate have been providing quality driving lessons in west nottingham and east derbyshire. We have earned an excellent reputation for having patient, reliable driving instructors who will tailor the driving lessons to each individuals needs and abilities.

As of January 2024 we are a team of 14 driving instructors with 9 trainees. We still maintain our 100% qualifying pass rate,

Fantastic experience: Coming to Checkmate was one of the best decisions i could’ve made. Being let down by so many instructors definitely knocked my confidence. But with Keeley i could not say one bad thing about my experience with her always pointing out the things i was making mistakes on and properly showing me how to do it. I really recommend for someone new to start the journey with checkmate. Thanks for everything ❤️

Fantastic experience: I have been threw 3 other diving instructors and with this company i deffo was about to learn alot more threw and a better understand to bwing incharge of a car. Would deffo recommend

Fantastic experience: i only started with keeley a month before my driving test. i had learnt no manoeuvres and didn’t feel confident to do my test before starting with her. after my first lesson, i instantly felt better about my driving and felt more confident. the day of my test came and i passed with only one driving fault for having to re adjust my parallel park. i now can drive confidently on my own because of the way i was made to feel during my lessons. if it wasnt due to stating lessons with keeley i would still be learning and wouldn’t feel confident to drive.

Fantastic experience: Had Scott as an instructor and he was very good, patient and explained things to me very well. He is very friendly and makes you feel as comfortable as possible, always wants the best for you and will push you when he knows you can do it. Would 100% recommend as an instructor.
